Introduction
They say that if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere... but their sickening optimism shields them from the truth. The Bridgeport you see in postcards and in the movies is all bright lights and endless partying, but what about those who can't afford the ridiculous entry fees of these "exclusive" clubs? What about those who have the short end of the stick? The Bridgeport these people live in is the total antithesis to this celebrity-filled utopia you see on TV. Corruption, crime and those of a not-so-human persuasion plague the streets, leeching the happiness from the inhabitants. The cops are dirty and the streets are rough and ordinary citizens are struggling to decide the better between two evils - corrupt people in power or the unknown beasts lurking in the shadows.
The Supernatual are a very real threat to the city. Feared by the vast majority of the population without solid proof of their existence and incessant denial from the government, they're known to appear from the shadows in a desperate attempt for survival, taking a helpless victim or three with them to never be seen again. They hunt each other, viciously, for their very natures dictate that they are to fight or flee. Many of the smallest disagreements can often lead to the demise of entire bloodlines.
Vampires dominate the supernatural population with their sprawling families, ever growing due to the longevity of their lifespans. Many of their offspring never see the outside world, slowly being groomed towards the goal of a perfect heir. They stay forever hidden away in stately manor houses lining the outskirts of the city, framing it like a prison fence. Then there's the other part of the vampiric population, devoid of the aristocratic finesse of those more fortunate. The sadistic tendencies in these beasts have not been mellowed by fine wine and manor houses, so they have been known to kill each other to pass the time.
Werewolves are considered by the vampiric elite to be somewhat of a “lesser species”. Their animalistic natures do not take the form of a human being come full moon, instead morphing into an enormous canine, capable of destroying most things in its path. The werewolf is a very pack-orientated creature - packs are for life, and without a pack they are nothing. They rarely breed, and that's usually when packs mix - to avoid interrelation. The wolf form of any given werewolf is random, and it usually appears in adolescence. Many a young wolf has died trying to challenge his father for dominance, so it's wise for a young boy to leave not long after he finds his wolf form.
Fairies are the hidden species. They have a giant influence on the world. See the actors that appear to be unnaturally beautiful? That person is a descendant of the fae. Fairies are not your typical “dance through the woods singing” type of creature. They have immense amounts of power, cannot be controlled, and can influence the world around them. They build their homes with magic, babies are born with magic, and the fair folk remain hidden yet are idolized by many.
Witches are perhaps the most undiscovered species. They can easily force you to forget them, and they live among humans. Their familiars are sneaky and possess the magic of no other animals. Witches store their magic in the metals and jewels that they decorate with, and when stirred you'll quickly find yourself horribly cursed. Their life spans and reproduction are the same of humans.
The other dominate species is humans. They take the majority of the city, ruining it and paving the streets with sins. They abuse their children, kill each other and are over all scum. Many of them have mental disorders and find themselves in the crappy mental hospital just down the street. But when they stumble across something their minds quite aren't prepared for..it's not often they stay alive very long.
Welcome to Bridgeport, the place of everyone's darkest dreams.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
Tablisha was now walking through an area outside of the city. It was a residential area where the houses looked like castles to her. She had lived in small two or three room dwellings all her life, and these, well these houses were things of dreams to the young witch.
Deciding to take a break, she sits herself down across the street from one such grand mansion. Taking an apple out of her backpack, she looks the place over. It looked like a palace for royalty. The manicured yard was gated in by a low stone wall. Hedges went around the house more or less hiding the lower levels of the building. Tablisha wondered who might live there; in this elegant and impressive home. Perhaps a closer look was in order.
Tablisha waits a moment for the response she will likely get, fully aware that she will likely be firmly reprimanded by the lady standing before her. As she looks at the woman, she seems to sense that she has an aura of power about her. The hairs on the back of her neck start to stand up a bit and she is suddenly aware of how uncomfortable she is now that she has been caught trespassing in this yard.
"About the gardens, thanks, I try my best." I'm still not smiling, but I tell her this in a much warmer tone. She's probably scared, poor girl. I just needed to let her know that the day someone crosses me is usually the last in their life. There's always the exception however... Maya, no, block it out. Now isn't the time.
A this point, Tablisha just wishes she could shrink up and hide away. She has already stepped too far out of her shell by walking here to see the gardens. Whatever possessed her to do so...she is not sure. She was just drawn to the colors of the flowers. And while this woman was about as warm and welcoming as an iceberg, she felt a strange attraction to her too. But still, it was not in her character to be so bold to go into a strangers yard and then carry on a conversation with them. What was the attraction?
I glide my tongue under the tip of my left fang, a habit I picked up during boring Olympic council meetings or appointments with elder members of the vampire hierarchy. I like to think I'm very influential over the vampire community of Bridgeport. I have made good impressions on the right people, and I am known for getting my way. "I've just remembered, there's a motel not too far from here, if you don't have much money to set yourself up yet and don't mind living in a bit of a shithole for a while." I add in an attempt to be more helpful.
I give a simple bow of my head and in a meek voice address the woman, "I am sorry to have trespassed and intruded on you. I, I guess I shall see if perhaps I can find a place of cover to sleep under tonight. I have no money. I am orphaned and alone. With that I place my backpack on my back again and slowly turn to leave, not sure where to go, not sure what my next move will be.
The setting changes from The city of Bridgeport to Bridgeport High
As she walked she wondered what she should do. She needed food (she was down to three lonely apples left in her backpack) and a place to stay where she could sleep and shower. As she neared the city, there was more hustle and bustle. The city had woken up this morning and was preparing for the day. A few blocks more and Tablisha came upon a large building with buses parked in front of it. No doubt a school, she thought.
"Bridgeport High" the sign said in the yard by the building. Students her age were milling about, most making their way into the front door of the buildling. Tablisha stood there for a moment. taking in the site. She noticed that she had also been noticed by some of those going in. Some stared, some snickered, some just ignored her. She decided the best course of action would be to follow the flow and go inside the building. Perhaps here she could find some help...some food at least. Walking in she sees a door with the sign "Office" on it. She decides this would be as good as place as any to go into.
