Introduction
X

i can't remember ever belonging here. everyone else just goes around their daily lives with a smile permanently fixed on their faces, doing everything they're told. nobody ever questions what they're told to do. nobody ever seems to want to... nobody except us. they just ignore us, like they can't even hear our questions. we learned a long time ago that we won't get the answers we want by asking questions... so we're trying to find them ourselves. the more we look, the more cracks we find in this "perfect" world. the more we look, the more questions we have. we're stuck in a cycle of questions and answers. every answer we get gives us three more questions. we're picking apart the seams of this supposedly perfect reality. we're finding answers to questions we never really wanted to ask.

Codename: Gasoline.
Aim: To produce a generation of supersoldiers.
Date Started: 1/1/2025
Date Concluded: --
Codename: Gasoline was one of the biggest government experiments ever. With political tensions across the world reaching boiling point, the government feared that yet another war would break out, and that this time, they may not come out on top. Codename: Gasoline was started with the hopes of creating a generation of perfect soldiers that could be used as a weapon in the upcoming war. The first generation was a failure- all of the subjects ended up becoming self destructive and destroying themselves and each other.
The second was only a fraction better- the stress of the adaptations was too much for their body, and they ended up dying before they reached their twenties.
Generation three, though. Generation three was an interesting one. The soldiers were stronger, faster and had more stamina than either of the previous generations. The only problem- and some didn't consider it a problem- was their complete obedience. They would do everything they were told and not question it. And if that something was wrong, they wouldn't feel bad about it- because it was an order. A squadron was allowed into combat to see how they performed. It went disastrously. The soldiers turned on their leaders for whatever reason- presumably one of the leaders had been a mole or double agent and had instructed them to murder the others.
The experiment was officially shut down and the soldiers transported to an isolated town on the edge of the desert where they wouldn't be found and couldn't hurt anybody. Their orders were to go about their lives with a smile on their face and act like everything was completely normal, just in case somebody did discover them.
But in top-secret labs, so secret that even the President and security staff didn't know about it, the experiments continued. It took almost twenty years, but Generation Four was eventually created. It was small- a handful of children, engineered in different ways. These children had been taken from orphanages as babies and were then sent to the town to adoptive families, their memories of their time in the labs wiped. There, they were monitored.
As they grew up, it became clear that they were completely different to Generation Three. They asked questions and became frustrated when they didn't get their answers. As Generation Four became teenagers, they learned that they weren't going to get their answers, and took it upon themselves to seek them out themselves. There was much debating as to what to do about them- but, because their specialised skills hadn't yet become obvious, it was ordered that they were not to intervene.
What neither the scientists working on the project nor the teenagers themselves knew is that the Generation Four specialised skills were... flawed. Generation Four, if they could overcome these flaws, would be the ultimate super soldiers. If they couldn't, they would destroy themselves in the same way as Generation One.
As Generation Four start to pick apart the false reality they had believed for so long, their own skills and flaws begin to show and endanger them.
No godmodding or powerplaying.
Keep the drama to the IC. If you have a problem with another member, try and sort it out over PM, and if that isn't working, I will act as a mediator.
If you want to leave, let me know, and your character will be killed off or removed as necessary.
If you don't post for two weeks and don't give me some kind of reason, I'll assume you have left and will proceed as such.
Commitment would be nice.
Reservations to be posted in the OOC.
Any OOC drama of any type will not be accepted.
Relationships? Yes please. More drama! But keep it clean here, and normal RPG rules apply.
Violence is expected, but just don't get too graphic.
If you want to change the face claim/special skill, just let me know and we can talk details.
To show you read these, tell me your favourite colour in the reservation post.
Enjoy!

Re: Codename: Gasoline
I also have some questions about the abilities the characters have. Will they be abilities that could explanations through science? For example: being super strong, immune to pain, and fast because they can control their impute of adrenaline. Or will there abilities be similar to the x-men format where they are accepted for what they are? Beside the idea of the x-gene, the reasoning of their abilities are never explained.
My favorite color is green/blue. I can never decide.
Super excited to join. This is my first time doing something like this, but I am willing to throw myself in.

Re: Codename: Gasoline
Basically, yeah. The only problem is that it has to be something they can overcome- in the example I used already, she would have to learn ways of calming herself down and being able to control her moods. So, he could be an excellent sniper with incredible eyesight, but perhaps when using his eyesight, his peripheral vision weakens so he can only see straight ahead? That would leave him open to attack and so on.
Re: Codename: Gasoline
1. May I reserve Mitch Hewer?
2. My favorite colors is blue and purple
3. So special skills are like normal skills but very good that almost reach supernatural? Cause if it is, I was thinking my character will be like sniper, he got eyes like an hawk that can see very far and flaws maybe if he his eyes too tired he might get blind for a few hours?
Hope it is good, of course, I am open to any suggestion.
Re: Codename: Gasoline
@unicorns.are.real- anything that would give them an advantage over normal soldiers that can also have a drawback. I'm thinking that my character will have a "battle mode" in which she's stronger, faster and less prone to PTSD- but that will also make her much more volatile and angry in general.

Re: Codename: Gasoline
Would it be ok if I reserved FC: Zoe Kravitz?
And any shade of purple is good to me...
