Bandana Waddle Dee is the commander in chief for King Dedede. He, too, orders the Waddle Dees to fight. Sometimes he likes to be called "B-Dee" for short. He is equipped with his trusty spear, and is able to hover by spinning the spear above him.

Bandana Waddle Dee's Story

Suddenly, a strange pink meteor is falling from the sky, and it is about to crash into the surface. The bright pink light from the comet somehow wakes Kirby up from his slumber. And then... the comet crashed into the ground, and the ground rumbles around it. Kirby got up from the ground and peeks through the window. He can see the smoke far away from his distance. With that said, he leaves his domeshaped house and head towards the comet's direction.
Kirby arrives where the comet lies. He proceeds with caution as he tries to feel the temperature from the comet's surface. It feels... warm. And for some strange reason, the comet looks shiny... much like a jewel from outer space. Kirby picks up the pink gem carefully and looks at it carefully. It seems that this pink gem is embedded with magical properties. Maybe it looks nice as part of his decoration. It reminds him of strawberry ice cream!
But before Kirby decides to take the pink gem home, a Waddle Dee with a blue bandana and his group of Waddle Dees run over Kirby. As Kirby recovers from a stampede of Waddle Dees, he notices that the pink gem is stolen... by a group of Waddle Dees.
"This pink shiny comet looks beautiful! It's a tourmaline from outer space!" Bandana Dee identified the gem, "We have to show this to the king! He might like this."
But Kirby found the gem first, and he wants it back. The Waddle Dees see Kirby trying to get it back, so they simply run away from the demanding pink puffball. They need to be careful not to break the gemstone. It's too valuable to be destroyed!

The setting changes from meadowlands to Castle Dedede
Yes, King Dedede has been busy eating a lot of cake, and yet not one of them is a lie. But his cake feast is soon interrupted by his henchmen. Bandana Waddle Dee arrives with the pink gem in his hands along with his followers. But they completely forgot that something else is on their tail.
"Sire!" Bandana Dee spoke, "I have acquired a pink space meteorite! I think this might be valuable."

"Hm - ? A pink meteorite? Lemme see it!" Dedede said, hopping down to check out the gem. "...Bah! I hate pink. Still, some sucker might fall head over heels for this beaut...Alright, it's decided! We'll cart this to the black market first thing in the mor - "
All of a sudden, something is sucking the gem away from Dedede's hands. It was Kirby who crashed in, and caught the gem in his mouth. "Poyo!!" Kirby angrily spoke. He told him he found the gem first.

"(!) Kirby?!" Dedede shouted. "Look, not that we don't love you or anythin' (I don't), but we've got an important business deal tomorrow, and we DON'T need your goody-two-shoes scatterbrain impedin' with it! Now give back that gem pronto!"
Kirby refused to let Dedede sell his new possession for his greedy desires. So he escapes with the gem in his hands.
"Aw, poop." Bandana Dee commented.

Dedede's jaw dropped to the floor. After a bit, he picked it up, looking disgruntled.
"Bah! Stupid puff..." Dedede grumbled. "Oh well, there'll be other treasure to find...'round these here mountains! Heh, think about it - the castle's sittin' in the middle of a motherlode! It ain't hard to find riches 'round these parts."

"Well, about that," Bandana Dee twiddled his hands, "The mining operation seems to slow down due to lack of food. They can't move without energy."
The next day, the castle was packed full with tons upon tons of stolen food from Kinoko City and Umaville. Dedede chortled about this little scheme.
"Yup!" Dedede laughed while scarfing down a spit roast. "Now there's no excuse to stop the minin' operations!"

Meanwhile, just outside, Mario and Luigi were about to head into the castle.

Oh, just a couple of Sword Knights guarding the hallway, spiked traps for those who step in the wrong tile, swinging spike balls, and mechanical Gordo surveillance patrolling the hallway. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
So Mario puts his footwork to use, stomping off the Sword Knights in his way, leaping past the spike-traps and over the spike-balls, and slipping through the gaps between the Gordo-walls.

Dedede nearly choked on the apple he gulped down when he saw the surveillance image of Mario and Luigi infiltrating.
"Consarnit!" Dedede griped after coughing up the apple. "They got here this fast?!"

Grumbling, Dedede grabbed his hammer from behind his throne.
"Then let's get ready for them stached punks!" Dedede said. "Lock up the storage room, just to slow 'em down!"

Gigant Edge raise his large word and smashes on Mario. Suddenly, Luigi protects his brother from the warrior's sword.
