Introduction
Small towns have their charms. However, these charms often have little to do with the people themselves, and in fact, the people can often drag them down. The town of Hillchester on the East Coast is no different. It's surrounded by stunning views and is generally a very pretty town. The people, however, are notoriously close-minded. Its population is mostly white, and it doesn't take kindly to outsiders. It's also notoriously intolerant of people of all kinds... especially those on the LGBT+ spectrum. Very few people actually come out while living in the town, only having the guts to do so when they leave.
However, this isn't widely known. Everyone just views it as an idyllic, small town that's perfect for hiking, painting, and photography. Which is why one new family moves in. An artistic family looking for a fresh start, they picked Hillchester for those very reasons.
Two boys meet. Sparks fly. But, in a place like Hillchester, can this love ever really become anything real? Or will the town smother the flames?
