Luke heard the voice of the creature and nodded his head. He started to walk away from the stump. He did not hit any of the butterflies as he wanted to not use violent tactics to get them off his person.
Still, the butterflies clung.
The clung despite where he went, following him and sticking to him. They may have even been melting into him, morphing him, changing him in some way.

Luke felt the butterflies melting into him and he then tried to get them off, but gently. "Stop laughing, and help me please" he said in a calm tone.
