Well, if those goons who had orchestrated the attack on him and Durandel that afternoon had been captured by the Ausi, Nova figured there was no reason to stall the lava wolf from returning home. The Cancius seemed to have much more of a pull on the Tenneth than Nova ever could on his own people. He was a lowly scout, Durandel had a position on the Alpha's council! Perhaps with the renegades out of the picture now, Durandel could calm the conflict on his end. Besides, the Ausi seemed more content to sit and wait for a second attack than launch a campaign of their own, at least while their Alpha was in the infirmary.
