Durandel's senses were being blocked by the strange colored smoke and by his own worries. It was then that the shock of being attacked all but overcomed the bewildered Canicus. Hearing the words seize them was followed by his body being knocked into the body of his poor friend. "WHAT IN BLUE BLAZES?!" Durandel shouted in dismay. He snorted as he began to fear the worse, have the Tenneth returned to attack them again!? No, it wasn't the Tenneth, an acrid stench assaulted his nostrils. It was the smell of poison and it came from his attackers. "Hemlocks?" He began to question in his thoughts. As Nova wriggled from out, underneath him, Durandel hoped to his paws and looked at the large wolf who decided to bash right into him.

"What do you Hemlocks want with us!? What have we done to you!?" He shouted. Yet reasoning with these wolves doesn't seem to be much of an option here. It was then Nova prepared his attack only to shout out Battle's name. "Battle!?" He sputtered in fear. When he turned to face her his scruff was bitten down by the large wolf as he tossed him aside. Durandel began to panic, was he poisoned!? Perhaps he was? Or maybe not? He wasn't sure but he rose again and as much as he wished to assist his friends the brute would not have it. He wasn't sure if they would kill them but he did hear the words sieze...he's going to take a wild guess but assume they want them alive.

Still, he understands that being captured ain't much better. He decided to attack the wolf before him. Yet the large wolf took his large paw and slashed Durandel good across the face. This wasn't going his way, he would use his ability but at this range with his friends quite near, he may wind up hurting both parties. No, he will have to rely on physical fight which this wolf just about matches him size for size. Still he is a Canicus and he will defend those he cares about with pride. He rose once again and charged but this time bit down on the leg of the brute's next sweep. The wolf howled in pain but continued his attack by biting down on Durandel's ear forcing him to let go. He wriggled out of the wolf's bite but nearly at the cost of his ear. He then bit the wolf on the nose, forcing him to take a few steps back. Durandel then lept and bit down on the wolf's scruff. His fur was horrible and tasted of rotted flesh as Durandel coughed, releasing the brute. The wolf growled and knocked Durandel to the ground, it was then he had him pinned. Durandel made some furious slashes at the wolf but couldn't reach his face. This wasn't looking good...
