It was true, the Saffron managed to outwit Vander and Wylie but then..., a laugh pierced the silence of the veil. "Your not out of the woods yet, or should I say the swamp?" The voice spoke with a laugh. There was no wolf in sight and the voice echoed making it sound like it was coming from all sides. "Before you jump out of your skin, allow me to reveal myself." Then rustling came from just ahead as Schemeko stood before the Saffron's path. "Nice job with the pendant," Schemeko spoke as he held out with his paw the other trinket, "The moronic often believe in asinine things like, superstitions." He chuckled as he dropped the pendant before them. "I have to admit, you're a clever one, but not clever enough to bewilder or beguile me." Schemeko spoke. "Now you might be wondering, why would I appear before you, if I'm after you? Wouldn't have been smarter to attack you in secret? Not to mention leaving you the option to run the other way...but I believe you are clever enough to see past the obvious. So you could wager to guess that turning tail and running might not be such a good idea." Schemeko then grinned. "Of course you could also be wondering why I am just sitting here and not making any aggressive actions that would suggest I am attempting to capture you. No, I am simply just speaking to you, and well, I hope you would show me the decency to respond...as much as I find talking to myself an enjoyable past time." He then chuckled.
