The Saffron bit his lip as he returned the nod to Integra, letting his sigh of relief only manifest after he had trotted over to Schemeko and the escort. His nerves had been strained from that encounter, and would have snapped had Integra been a little less hasty in dismissing the conversation. Granted, he had thought ahead what he was going to say about why he needed the venom, but bringing up the Aven was a curve ball he hadn't seen coming. Shamus quickly made a mental note of that hitch in his story, and vowed to address it later.
Only...why bother? This blasted swamp was the last stop on his travel home, and he had all that he needed to put his scheme into effect. A wave of self confidence quickly filled the vacuum left by the relief from the tension just moments ago, and Shamus could feel a grin slowly returning to his face. This was going to be even better then the time with the Deon's after all!
Feeling rather secure and almost a bit giddy, Shamus couldn't resist passing a few remarks to Schemeko as they walked. The Hemlock looked like the wind had gone from his sails. "Shame we can't all have a matey like Integra, eh matey? Don't have to worry about a thing with him around. And your lucky enough to have him as your brother!" Shamus remarked, tempering his comments for the sake of the two escorting wolves. The things that guards must hear sometimes, especially those who held the Alpha's life!
