As frantic Dey ran from the ambush, she didn't notice that she had somehow gotten turned around and was now lost. Run! Run! Run! The voice in her head, what she was assuming was instinct, shouted vigorously at her, pushing her to go farther, faster. The entire episode was felt so familiar, so similar to something that must have happened to her before. Run! Run faster! Go!
Somehow, that voice came to her again, and it wasn't instinct, it was... "Run! Blue! Run!"
It's dark, cold. I'm alone. Ears pressed to her skull. The surrounding darkness stank of fear.
She was running. Entirely surrounded by earthy dirt, somewhere underground. And something was chasing her.
Dey ran faster, feeling that the images and voices in her head were just memories. Scary and painful memories. She ran faster, in hopes of outrunning her memories. Memories she had wanted back, but now that she's caught a glimpse of them... She now wants nothing to do with them.
Then in the darkness, a voice full of light. "Run! Blue! Hurry!"
That voice made her flinch in familiar pain. "Stop!" She howled piteously at the shadows that had begun to surround her, stopping her sprint. The darkness, the shadows, it was all in her head. "Don't stop!" Afraid of the darkness, she began to run again. Run, run, run, run, run. It was never ending, the pain, never forgotten. She ran hard and fast, not noticing that her environment had changed and that the black rocks beneath her had begun to cut into her paws. They bled, her paws. She was a black wraith in pain, leaving only her bloodied paw prints behind her.
