Despite their wealth, the Chu family still followed certain traditions from taking off their shoes to her grandma praying to their ancestors every morning to bragging about the latest handbag her mother got on sale, even if it was secretly counterfeit. Her own bag, of course, was a genuine white, Musubi camera bag bought directly from Acne Studios. The only other gift she'd given herself was a custom deck of cards (Bicycle brand natch) for the same reason that most women bought new dresses for the season.
"Lotta hey! How's it going?" she asked before skipping towards one of her past project partners, "Juan Carlos! I haven't see you since October. Where did you go"
As quickly as she slid by him however, she left to go find the one person she'd actually come to the party for.
Isabella Vayne.
Lisa caught wind of her best friend crashing the party a few days after word got out about Hatch throwing a back-to-school party with her housemates. For whatever reason, she didn't seem to mind that Lisa hadn't told her nor that she hadn't been invited. For all the things that the Vayne woman was, possessive was not one of them. She almost seemed to enjoy bringing more people into the fold.
“My little Lisa Chu. How are you? Hope your break wasn’t as boring as mine. Family parties and a lot of talking, parents love showing me off.”
The Asian woman returned Isabella's hug with a warm smile before nodding in agreement.
"I wish I could say the same but my parents are seriously obsessed with family so our trip to California was nothing but visiting relatives and shopping of all things. But-" she pulled out a deck of cards, "I did get these! I've been working on something new and if you'd like I could show you."
Before she open her cards, Bella proposed grabbing a drink, which was certainly something Lisa didn't mind. Granted, it would have been nice to put her bag down first but time that could spent putting her things away could be time spent drinking.
"You read my mind!"
As they began walking towards the kitchen, she found Hatch sauntering over with a strange glint in her eye. She could feel the tension cutting the atmosphere of EDM and alcohol, replacing it with the rivalry of two warlords fighting for control of Cascadia.
"Of course! I wouldn't miss a chance to catch up with everyone."
And Lisa would stay neutral because as dramatic as her internal monologue might have been, she could never predict where those two would end up.
