High stakes, high rewards. That was something that the circus lived by. They all knew the risks that each performance came with. Anything could go wrong at any time, even with all of the safety precautions they took. Key waited in the wings. She didn't just sit around of course, she was busy helping, putting things away, taking them out, organizing, fixing costumes. It was always a bit chaotic behind the scenes, but it was a chaos that Key could appreciate. Her tail swished with anticipation, after each act returned, Key's came closer. It was almost her turn. Felix came in and felt went out, his skin slightly blackened from flames, but otherwise alright. "Need some water?" Key offered. Xi'an had already rushed her Mother away somewhere no doubt, as Key had not seen her since she had returned from her performance.

Felt had the lucky feet of a rabbit, she could navigate the high wire with ease. She did flips on them, cartwheels, her balance impressive. One or two times she would pretend to fall, only to get back up and do a handstand. Key admired Felt's handiwork, kneeling close to the ground. "Nervous?" Felix asked, kneeling beside her. "Not really," Key admitted. "I know my act inside and out," she smiled, her tail swishing back and forth. "Well, break a leg." He nudged her in the side, Key rolling her eyes. "And for our final act, performing death-defying stunts! The amazing, the nimble, Key!" Key rose, the spotlight on her as soon as she was out from the curtain. This used to make her nervous, the lights were too bright, they got warm too quickly. Now, it made her heart skip a beat.

She climbed up the ladder easily, feeling all eyes on her. Key unhooked her swing and jumped, hearing a gasp. She swung to the middle, then flipped in the air, grabbing the rungs of the next bar and turning herself until she was standing. Key turned backwards, hooking her knees underneath the bar and swinging back and forth, flipping once more. This time she landed on top of the other swing, then flipped backwards. Key looked as though she was diving down, but she caught the bar by her tail and turned. She could feel the gaze of eyes glued to her. Key grinned, waving, before she shimmed up the ropes. She then dove down, down, down, grabbing the next swing and flipping herself upwards.

She did a few more turns before finishing her act, diving down into the net below. Key sat upright quickly, waving. She rolled down the net, then quickly jogged backstage. The Ring Masters, Fox and Pandora, returned and the entire cast came out to give a bow. Key was still panting, she didn't even have time to take a sip of water before having to return. Her chest was heaving, Key waved to the audience, doing a curtsey. They all took a lap around the ring, waving to their audience before returning back, behind the curtain. Key grabbed her water, chugging it down, taking a seat on one of the storage boxes. "Great job tonight everyone!" Pandora congratulated them. "You all did a fabulous job!" Fox agreed, tails swishing with delight.
