Introduction
The Avengers Initiative
The Avengers Initiative (a.k.a Phase 1; originally conceptualized as the Protector Initiative) was a secret project created by S.H.I.E.L.D. to create the Avengers, a response team comprised of the most able individuals humankind has to offer. The Initiative will defend Earth from imminent global threats that are beyond the warfighting capability of conventional military forces. The Initiative was scrapped by the World Security Council after the alien incursion in New Mexico in favor of a weapons development program known as Phase 2. It was eventually reactivated in 2012 during the Chitauri Invasion

In 1995, S.H.I.E.L.D. was involved in the conflict with the Kree and the Skrulls, and Nick Fury teamed up with Carol Danvers (Who would later become Captain Marvel) to save the Skrulls from the Kree and retrieve the Tesseract.
Having been inspired by Danvers and witnessing firsthand how humanity is not capable of dealing with intergalactic threats, Fury became determined to protect the Earth from more intergalactic threats like the Kree. He sought to find individuals with incredible powers and abilities just like Danvers in hopes of bringing them together as a team to fight as Earth's protectors. The initiative was originally named "The Protector Initiative", however, after Fury saw Danvers' call-sign from the time when she was in the United States Air Force, he renamed it into the Avengers Initiative
The Fall Of The Avengers
By the year 2065, everyone in existence has heard about The Avengers, and what they had done. How they saved the world from the Chitauri Invasion in 2012, and then there was peace. Until recent years. The original team of Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Vision, The Wasp, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Hulk, Hawk-Eye, and Black Widow protected Earth for the years that followed. Taking down villain after Villain earthly or none. That was until their greatest threat yet rose up and slaughtered half of them, while the others defeated their foe but not without casualties. Ant-Man, Wasp, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye had all perished at the hands of Ultron. The very machine that Hank Pym (Ant-Man) and Tony Stark (Iron Man) had created to help them in their endeavors turned against its creators and slaughtered them. The remaining Avengers had either grown too old after having their own families, fled in fear, or passed away due to old age or the wounds they received from the attack.
For thirteen years from 2065-2078 there were no more Avengers. They either passed on such as Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Black Panther (T'Challa). The Avengers Initiative had failed, and the world was left without hope until just recently...
The Next Generation
The world was left hopeless and empty after the disappearances of The Avengers. There was no explanation for why the rest of the remaining survivors disappeared, as Vision had managed to be one of the last ones remaining, seeing as Thor left earth and returned back to Asgard. Now, years later a new group of supposed heroes began popping out of nowhere. Claiming that they were the children of the Avengers and that they wanted to follow in their parent's footsteps, but to not make the same mistake they did the brought their demise. With none of the original Avengers alive or present, their children took on the mantle of being the next protectors of earth, and started the Avengers Initiative all over again with the assistance of S.H.I.E.L.D, but with a twist. Anyone that wanted to become an Avenger, could apply and show if they really wanted to become an Avenger, but only if they trained under the guidance of the new Avengers, careful of who they chose. So far, a small handful of young adults heard the call and have come forth, but do they really have what it takes the become the Next Generation of Avengers? Or will they only have the same fate as the ones that came before them...?
The Students
Rion Cartwright is one of the older students that took on the Avengers Initiative. She was believed to be too dangerous and untamed to be left alone, and was accepted into the Initiative Program. She is rebellious and rather intimidating upon first meeting, but once someone gets to know her she is rather kind and caring. She's always looked up to the original Avengers and how they helped save humanity, and even died for it. She hopes to one day become a full member of the Avengers after the program is finished.
