D E C O R U S

h e i g h t x // x6' 1''

w e i g h t x // x177lbs

h a i r x // xa dark brown, that borderlines black, very tousled and straight

e y e s x // xa striking pale, icy blue

o d d i t i e s x // xNo matter how long he stands in the sun or how close his is to a fire, Dom's skin is always cold to the touch.

a p p e a r a n c e x // xDom has never really been too concerned or really cared for that matter about his appearance. Most of the time he's so quiet that no one notices either. Like all Khione children, his appearance is very striking, almost intimidating with his straight, dark hair, pale complexion, and bright blue eyes. Khoine was always known for being hauntingly beautiful and Dom gained most of his mother's attributes. His facial features are very angular and structured however they soften up lightly when they reach his eyes, this he knows he got from his father. His tall and thin stature lead most to think that he's never had much of an athletic background, however he has acquired a lean figure from training. All in all, he tends to give off an aura of a sophisticated intellect, which is not entirely wrong.

Dom always tries to dress his best, it's merely a personal preference. Button downs, jeans, anything classy that permits to the weather (although he's never had to worry about the cold). He's never liked standing out amongst a crowd, but if others notice him he always tries to look nice.

c r y o k i n e s i s x // x Dom has mastered the ability to shape and manipulate ice. He can create and manipulate snow, blizzards, and even has been able to tap into a little bit of his mother aerokinesis with frigid air. He can also control the intensity of his powers, meaning he can inflect anything from a light snow to a raging blizzard. He's even tried recreating his mother's technique of a reverse nuclear blast, instead of heat and radiation, cold and ice. Dom can also turn other beings into ice statues but he's rather afraid to actually use this power yet in fear of what would happen.

i c exxc r e a t u r e sx // x Dom can essentially create living ice constructs to do his bidding. However, this power takes a lot out of him and he's not able to keep it going for long periods of time.

P E R S O N A L I T A T E
xxxxxxxxxxxxx icy xx apathetic xx analytical xx calm x

It's no surprise that Khione isn't the most respected goddess among the few, and this reputation more or less bleeds into her children as well. Dom doesn't condone his mother's choices but he is surprisingly finding that more and more he is becoming like her. (Which is kind of scaring him)

Dom is quiet, calm, and calculating individual. He prefers to watch and wait. He doesn't see the real point of getting caught up in others problems unless they somehow directly effect himself. He rarely cares if people get hurt around him, unless it's his family or someone he manages to care about. He rarely allows himself to grow close to people, given his issues regarding trust, and the fact most believe he actually does have a heart of ice. Instead of socializing giddily, he'll put up defenses to avoid talking. He'll either stay silent, not saying a word and giving off a cold front (sometimes literally), or he'll give a rather snarky remark that instantly shoots others down. However, though he can be seen by others as being closed off and unemotional should he choose not to have anything to do with them, he can still be friendly and open to those he does communicate with. It's no secret that Khione is a charmer, she has a way with putting up a kind front and then striking where it really hurts, something that Dom somehow managed to pick up. While he's not 'evil' like his mother Dom will always put the cards on the table in his favor, making his charming front entirely deceptive.

Dom really has no understanding or value for decisions made on the basis of personal subjectivity or feelings. He strives constantly to achieve logical conclusions to problems, and doesn't understand the importance or relevance of applying subjective emotional considerations to decisions. For this reason, he is usually not in-tune with how people are feeling, and are not naturally equipped to meet the emotional needs of others. Since his feelings are his least developed trait, he may have difficulty giving the warmth and support that is sometimes necessary in intimate relationships. He usally can, however, realize the value of attending to other people's feelings. Whatever the case, he's not one people get to know easily, but when they do, and if he truly accepts them as a friend, he will be somewhat protective over them, and while he won't divulge on too much about his past, he will open up more that others to that individual, something not many can lay claim to.

Dom is a very analytical person, using his ability to judge others and thereby see if it is worth his time talking to them. This can sometimes come off as a little judgmental on his part, but he doesn't seem to mind. He has never really had a problem with surviving on his own, considering the majority of Khione children are outcasts. Dom doesn't really take into account his emotions when making decisions. Therefore, he could think fondly of someone, but refuse to let them in until they've proven themselves to her. It's his analytical nature that makes him come off as cold and apathetic, though once he let's someone in he's rather a distant-but caring individual.

Dom normally disguises his worry to the point of insignificance. Very rarely does it show in his words or actions. If anything, he’s often frightened by the idea of freezing someone to death, especially someone he cares about. Of course there are times he wants to, but that's a feeling he pushes deep deep down.

Unfortunately, Dom can be icy, much like his mother. He is very reserved, classically shy or possibly introverted. He finds himself freezing and hardening into stone even when he doesn’t feel under attack. Cutting himself off from others, he stops the progression of relationships from going beyond a certain point. Due to him thinking so logically, people view him as insensitive. When he tries to exercise his empathy, it hardly comes out right, and so he does nothing to prevent this; moving in another direction with little apology or vulnerability. Dom thrives in the ice and that’s where his personality stays.

H I S T O R I A R U M

Dom was born in the rather populated town of Reykjavik, Iceland. It's known that Khione had a rather big distaste for mortals and there are very few demigods from her. His father, Frederick, was a fisher for a small company and often spent his time on the frigid waters in the North Atlantic. He was a very reserved and closed off individual, the town recluse is what most called him. Dom could only assume this is what his mother found so enticing about the man. Khione often spent her time in Iceland, as it was an ideal climate for her and rather close to her father's domain. She happened upon Frederick and the rest is history.

Dominik had a rather quiet childhood, he could tell from a young age that he was different from the other students at the school he attended. For one he wasn't affected by Iceland's cool temperatures and when he was particularly angry it would snow. Since his mother was out of the picture he would always question his father about her disappearance but his father always told him she died in a fishing accident. Dom never believed him. Dom and his father had a rather complicated relationship considering they were both distant and reserved people, they didn't know how to talk to each other.

On a particularly bad night, Dom and his father were fighting like usual, when his father said something he shouldn't have. That it was Dom's fault his mother had left, that she didn't want him, and neither did his father. After that Dom couldn't hardly contain his anger and punched his father in the chest, what happened next has scarred him for life. Right where Dom touched his father in the chest a small ice patch grew, and then expanded until his father was a statue of ice. In the midst of Dom's small panic attack a women appeared, hauntingly beautiful, and Dom instantly knew it was his mother.

She explained, rather bitch-ingly that he was a demigod, particularly of one that not many people liked. She unfroze his father with a snap of her fingers and then demanded to talk to the man in private. That was the only time Dom has ever seen his mother in the flesh. After Dom's father returned to the room rather shaken up he had him pack his things and said that his mother had a place for him to go.

Dom didn't really fit against his parent's request, he knew he didn't really fit in anywhere. With that he was sent of to Camp Athens, where he still - for the most - part doesn't fit in. It's entirely frustrating and confusing for him, but he masks it rather well.

Image Alex had never been to one single party before she came to Camp Athens. Their mother never allowed her to leave the house. Last years had been a blast, but this year was going to be different. Alex sat quietly as her brother took the chair across from her. "Are you okay?" He watched her as she managed to turn her attention to him. "..don't tell me it's nothing. When some of the campers left for the year, others stayed here. You didn't. You left me. Where did you go?"

Alex shook her head. "I'm fine. This isn't about when I left. Then, I just needed to be by myself."

"You know it's dangerous out there. Especially by yourself. Has Mason said something to you again? is that why you left?"
"No."
"Okay, so what's wrong now? Did someone else say something to you?"
"No!" she snapped.
"Al..."
Image "Just leave it alone, okay? Don't ask me any more questions." she stood up angrily. "Please." she added. It wasn't like her to shut him off without talking to him. He nodded once, his eyes looking down as he did. She gave him a glare before walking silently passed him. Maybe she shouldn't have come back to camp this year since everyone already thought she was a murderer. No one would possibly miss her, would they? Everything in her life had already turned upside down because of a stupid feud between two Gods. They just couldn't let things stay in the past.

Image He looked up, watching her head into her room. Hopefully, the party would make her feel better. Being around Duke and Wes always brought a smile to her face. Especially Duke. Oh, Ajax had noticed the way his little sister looked at his best friend. Was she acting like this because of him? Duke had recently found out about his little sister, and Alex had seen them together a couple of times without knowing who she is. Was she jealous? the corners of Ajax's lips began to lift upwards, forming a large smile as he looked away and hung his head. Laughing. He had never known her to be jealous, not even once, or she just managed to hide it well. Daniel had a new girl around him before he passed, but Alex didn't seem to batter an eye. He could go in there and tell her about Duke's sister, but maybe it would be way more entertaining for her to find out from Duke himself.

Ajax headed out the second he was dressed, but first grabbing his rucksack which sat near the front door. He decided to wear something casual: Party Outfit. As promised, he arrived a bit early with the music he had downloaded the night before on his computer. It was all taking place down near the beach again where a large campfire was sitting in the middle ready to be lit. Around it at a good safe distance sat four large log benches for everyone to chill out around the flames. The staff members were the ones hosting it all, so they were cooking on the BBQ tonight. They had containers filled with ice where the beer bottles chilled, and quite the buffet on a long table so people could help themselves to sandwiches, pizza, sausage rolls and every other party food displayed. The BBQ would be serving burgers and hot dogs with or without onions. A large variety for everyone to say the least.

Gwendolyn loved the idea of a party. Currently, she didn't know a lot of the campers (old and new) too well and it was bothering her. She was so used to being with her own little 'school of fish' back in Florida that it felt like she was being dropped in the middle of a shark tank. Making friends wasn't a real worry for her however, that came naturally. It was just finding ample opportunities and this was a perfect one.

She slipped out of the shower, feeling rather refreshed. It never took Gwen long to get ready considering the fact she had a few tricks up her sleeve. Drying her hair was just a simple flick of her wrist, and Voila! Beach curls in a second. She had already picked out a casual outfit the night before, it was simple and comfy, turning heads wasn't just her thing. She also couldn't promise herself that she wouldn't get in the water either so she decided against wearing something super nice.

She was about to leave when she passed by Finley's closed and quiet door. Finley was her newfound half-brother, and to her it felt like she already had known him her entire life. The two had a bond that she couldn't quite explain and she truly loved him. Except his anti-social tendencies. Of course he wouldn't want to go to the bonfire tonight, it just wasn't his thing. However, Gwen couldn't bear the thought of leaving him all alone. She lightly rapped on his door placing her ear against the frame.

"Finley! Finns. Is there any chance you could go tonight? It's just a small bonfire, there's food, and it's right next to the beach. You know you always feel better by the water. Plus I'll be there the whole time, so if you feel uncomfortable you can just talk to me!" Gwendolyn stuck her head through her sibling's door giving him a winning, 'please don't let me go alone' smile. It wasn't the first time she had pleaded with Finn to get out of his room and go socialize with the other campers. She figured that it wasn't that the boy was antisocial more so that he just needed a little push and nudge to talk to others. She hated leaving him all by himself all the time, especially when she was out having fun, it didn't feel fair. Her shoulders sagged slightly and a small poignant sigh escaped her mouth, this was where she really got him. Gwen stuck out her bottom lip in a pouty fashion and let out a little sniff of sadness. "I mean, I could just go by myself... You know what? I- It's alright, don't worry about little ole' me. I'll be fine.... all alone.... by myself..."

A large grin broke out on her face as Finn caved into her requests. She burst through the door, practically jumping on the bed to give him a rather large huge. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You won't regret it, I promise. Who knows, you might meet someone special" She waggled her eyebrows in a goofy fashion and hopped off the his bed. "I'll see you there" With that she left his room, grabbing her small and soft cream sweater jacket by the door. The tide at night brought in a rather cool breeze and she wasn't looking to freeze.

It didn't take her long to make it to the beach, (considering the Poseidon kids lived fairly close to it). A couple of the older campers were already around the fire, Gwen knew well enough not to approach them first. Although she loved being friendly, she could see the strain on all of their faces, they needed space and time to make up for what they lost. She had heard a couple of rumors from some of the newer campers about last year and it didn't take her long to realize they had all been to hell and back (some literally).

Her eyes particularly lit up to see lemonade at the drink table. Oh thank Gods she thought as she grabbed a bottle and popped the cap off and took a drink. Her eyes rescanned the crowd and she giggled quietly as her eyes landed on a rather peppy Nik. She made her way over to the son of Apollo an inviting grin on her face. "Nik! It's nice to see a familiar face, how is my sunshine doing tonight?" Since she had gotten to know the quirky boy, it was almost like she had molded into a mothering role.

Dominik loathed the idea of parties. Parties meant talking, which meant socializing, and making friends. None of the things he ever truly enjoyed when it came to camp. The moment the idea of the bonfire was announced he had already settled with himself that he wasn't going. He didn't see the point. Aimless chat that lead to nowhere, mixed with barbaric demigods, the thought made his eyes roll back into his head.

then why was he going

It was stupid, such a stupid idea for him. Dom didn't know the first rule about parties (hell if there even were set rules) but something was just nudging him to go. It wasn't everyday that Dom just did whatever a little odd feeling said but for the tiniest moment he had hoped it was his mom. That somewhere she was just thinking about him, and pushed him to go try something new. He knew it was farfetched, and his mother was a bitch, but that slightest inclination gave him the strangest courage.

There were some problems, Dom didn't know what to wear, when to show up, or what to do. Great start Frosty, he thought pessimistically as he rummaged through his closet. Even though the nudge had given him the will to go, it didn't give him the will to stand out. For a while he contemplated asking Raven, but he didn't even know what to say. Things were already awkward between him and the girl who he recently learned was his half-sister. After a while, he just settled on a casual outfit, dark colors, plain. Perfect.

He waited a while, for it to get dark before finally venturing towards the beach. He slowed his pace to a walk as he tried to go through all the possible scenarios in his head. Dread started to set in as he thought about the party, and several times he almost turned around. Still, there was something just pushing him to try, and he secretly, deep down, he wanted to, just maybe. Dom was so caught up in his scattered thoughts that he wasn't paying any attention to his path and bumped into the person walking in front of him. He wasn't going fast enough to completely knock them over but enough to make them drop their book. Book? This person must have the same distaste in parties that he had.

Domonik raised his head to the girl that he had accidentally bumped into. His face flushed slightly as he realized he had seen her around camp before. A daughter of Eris, but he couldn't recall her name. She was... beautiful in a non-traditional way, but Dom knew well enough to not approach her. Not only was he rubbish with talking in general, but he knew well enough beautiful and himself didn't mix.

He quickly picked up her book, his nervous emotions causing the front cover to freeze a little at his touch. He rather awkwardly shoved the book into her (not outstretched hands), flinching slightly when his hand brushed against hers. He hated the idea of coming into contact with others due to his icy skin, it made him terribly insecure. With as much avoidance of eye contact as possible he muttered a quick and incoherent, "erhm here"
before turning and hightailing it down the trail to the bonfire.

This was going great already.

The bonfire wasn't something Raven was particularly excited about going to but it didn't mean she didn't want to go. Maybe it was the thought of her sneaking off to relax by the shore with a beer and watching the tide pull in and back out into the ocean that urged her to go or possibly the slim chance of making conversation with her half brother without it being weird. What if alcohol makes it easier? Did he even drink? Those were the little things that a part of her, as a sister, wanted to know more about. Anyway, it was more alone time with a different scenery. It may sound a little lonely but Raven was use to it by now.

Then again, the blankets she was wrapped in were super warm and just the thought of having to temporarily leave that warmth, especially since she just finished taking a warm shower, made her second guess herself. The thought was pushed away, though, with a sigh and pale fingers making their way through white strands.

Getting up from her bed Raven stretched up, then down, then made her way to the closet. She pulled it open and quickly picked out an outfit and tossed it on. That's when she heard a door open then close, most likely Dominik heading out. Raven gave it a few minutes, grabbing her little sketchbook that she'd been drawing in for the past hour or so and tucked it away in her back pocket along with a worn pencil the size of her thumb. Once a good ten minutes passed Raven headed out, left hand casually pocketed.

After a slow trek through the forest path, occasionally stepping aside so the more eager ones could hustle by, courtesy of muah, Raven began seeing a dim light flickering in between the trees, pointing out her destination. As she got closer the voices got clearer but so did the soft crashing of waves. Tonight wasn't a night where she wanted to put so much energy in looking intimidating so once squared shoulders relaxed and took in her surroundings, Raven made her way over to the big cooler on the ground where she plucked a beer from, popped it open and sat herself quietly on an unoccupied log. Dull green eyes curiously wondered, taking a few swigs here and there but she wasn't looking for anyone in particular... just looking.

Elias finished his routine, maybe he was cutting the party a bit close, but he was not one to cut things out without need. He had not been at camp but for a couple days. He had settled into things well enough, and in doing so had not gone out of his way to make friends yet. He had not been unfriendly, but also not engaging. He knew a challenge awaited him here, but what it was, what form it would take he didn't know. Morning jog, stretching, shower, breakfast, then the planned camp activities through the day. during that time he would read if there was little to do, something it seemed was uncommon for those of his father. after dinner he would find a quiet area and practice his forms the martial abilities, some days martial katas other days the sword. he knew well that skill in these areas would always be limited by physical ability, so that is what he trained most.

Today was different though. As the party approached he got ready for it. Not taking much time to pick out an outfit because, well he didn't have that may. He chose a casual look. That would do well he thought, black open shirt over a blue one with black jeans, this was a bonfire after all. He looked around. The cabin was empty of anyone getting ready. It seemed that he was a little on the late side. No matter he had no one to meet just yet and well it would do well to be a bit late to make sure there were plenty of people to mingle with. Much better than early at any rate.

Checking himself in the mirror to be certain everything was in place, Looking well it looked a little much for the beach. Maybe, the over-shirt could always go and well to dress it down a little he grabbed his sandals in place of the shoes he had had on. Not as practical, but on the beach bare feet would be more stable anyway. He ran his toes along them. He would need new ones soon. They were worn out, he'd need to replace them soon. Just as well. Finishing it off, he'd tuck a small throwing knife into each of his pockets and snag the pack that was sitting by the door. Another once over in the mirror and he was off for the beach. He kept a good clip on the way until he saw the light of the bonfire. Looking around he saw a number of his other campers there. He thought about that for a moment and decided that heading out onto the sand of the beach and toward the fire would be good place to settle in. Who knew he might find someone there wanting to be social. Maybe it was time he should get to know some of his fellow campers.

Reaching the beach he headed over to the food tables and loaded himself up a plate of food and snagged a beer from the cooler. Scanning over the party he saw people had started to form themselves into groups, then there at the center, on one of the logs and scanning the area like he had been. Well seemed as good a person as any to introduce himself to. He headed over to the log and took a seat there beside her. “Mind if I join you?” He slung his bag down onto the elbow of the arm that held his beer, and looked to Raven before setting it on the ground, making sure she didn't have any objections before setting it down.

"You know, you're lucky I like you. And if any environmentalist tries to have a go why there's a cigarette in the water, I'm throwing you under the bus."

"Don't think I won't drag you down with me," Andy said, pointing her index finger at him accusingly. She slipped her hands into her pockets as they walked towards the main hub of the party.

"I was here earlier than you, on the beach, everyone's seen my face or back at least, doesn't that count as attendance?"

"Of course it does," Andy mused, playfully bumping her shoulder against Mason's. "But, if I have to struggle through this party... So, do you."

Andy sighed softly as they got closer to the fire, glancing at all the faces familiar and new. Her gaze drifted over towards Mason, witnessing a menacing smirk on his lips. She did a double take before he spoke. "What game is it going to be tonight? Another truth or dare? Spin the bottle?" He then started shimming his shoulders.

Andy laughs, raising her hands to cover her mouth as she watches him. "I think I'm going to stay away from the whole game situation." She didn't know if she could handle another game of truth or dare. Not that it was bad last year. She could do any dare people wanted, but she wasn't feeling the need to be utterly truthful. And spin the bottle isn't a game for someone in a relationship... Not if she wanted to keep it anyways.

It seemed that Mason's whole playful demeanor faded almost instantly. Andy's gaze followed his, which was focused on Ajax. She sighed softly, glancing down at her feet. She wasn't going to say anything. Mason had every reason to hate Ajax, especially Alex. A bump from his shoulder got her attention, causing Andy to look over at him. "I'll behave and stay right here. You know, if you want to be a real girl and talk and socialize."

Andy smiled slightly. "When have I ever been a real girl?" She raised a hand up to scratch her head, before running her fingers through her hair. "But I do need a drink," she said, tapping her nose with her index finger and then pointed towards the drinks. "You should socialize... You might make more friends." She bumped him with her hip before heading towards the bar. "Just don't forget who your best friend is," Andy teased, calling back towards him over her shoulder.

As she walked towards the bar, Andy conjured a shot in her right hand. She downed it as she made her way around the fire. She didn't want to interrupt the conversations, so moved to stand behind Ajax. Andy grabbed herself a beer, popping it open and taking a drink. She overheard Ajax talking to Emery. As he talked to her, Andy made funny faces, playfully mocking him towards Emery while he couldn't see.

Wes quickly pivoted around when he heard someone coming up the porch. “Just for old time's sake I guess. Because you know, I don't actually like your company.” He chuckled, and as he leaned in to kiss her cheek he was met by her shirt. “Does that smell?” Wes held his breath instead of attempting to not cringe at Trinity's sweaty shirt. She then opened the door, waving him into her cabin.

"I don't know... Shoving a ripe sweaty shirt in a guy's face is a quick way to show you don't like his company," Wes teased as he slowly entered her cabin.

“You got your boardies? Board shorts?” she asked him before disappearing back into her room.

Wes looked down at his legs, then back towards her bedroom door. "Didn't know I was going to be thrown into the ocean." He chuckled, tugging at his jeans slightly. "I have boxers on if the need to swim is aroused."

After a moment or two, Trinity came back out and smiled towards him. Wes couldn't help but smile back. She was beautiful just the way she was. Not like how the other girls tried to always look nice, but in her own element. He liked her just the way she was, true authentic Trinity. “Now we can go.”

Wes held the door open for her, before following her down the porch. As they started walking, he draped his left arm over her shoulders. He wasn't in any rush to get to the party. Not that he doesn't like parties but he also liked the time just with Trinity. Call him selfish, but it's true.

“You know, we can make you a non-loser. All you'd have to do is beat me in an arm wrestle.”

"Oh man, Ken Doll has been upgraded to loser." Wes chuckled, lightly bumping his hip against Trinity. "I don't know if the nicknames could get much better than that."

“I remember, you specifically said, 'I'd wrestle with you any day'

Wes sighed softly as he let out a weak laugh. "Pretty sure that was old asshole Wes who said that." He raised his hand a little, playfully flexing it before letting it relax against her shoulder again. "Could you handle all of this? This arm has been doing the work of two arms for quite sometime now. I may not be a fighter, but I do have some muscles."

The music from the party could be heard as they near the beach. He looked down at Trinity, smiling slightly. "I'll make you a deal. I'll arm wrestle you, and if I win... You go on a real official date with me." Wes smiled, nudging her. "And if you win...?

Sloane walked slowly, very slowly towards the beach. Maybe if she was lucky enough, by the time she reached the beach, the party would be over. Most of the other campers were rushing towards the party, bobbing and weaving around her like she was just some tree in their way. That was fine by her. She'd rather be invisible than have them actually try to socialize with her. She turned the page in her book only to have someone bump into the back of her, causing her to drop her book.

Sloane steadied herself so she also didn't fall over. She slowly turned around, glancing over her shoulder towards whomever bumped into her. Domonik Einarsson. She had seen him around, and he was about as social as she is. She was half surprised the guy didn't trip over her. He was tall, very tall. Being as short as she is, someone that tall could hurdle her. Sloane noticed that he was handsome in an unusual way. Like the kind of way most people wouldn't notice, especially because of his parentage... And the fact that he was staring.

She didn't know what to say or do. Sloane brushed a strand of hair behind her ear before leaning down to pick up her book. But, Dom beat her to it, quickly snatching her book up from the ground. He then shoved the book towards her. "erhm here" Her brow raised slightly when his hand brushed hers. His skin icy cold. Not in an uncomfortable or alarming way, but almost in a odd familiar way.

When she looked back up, Dominik was gone, hightailing it towards the beach. Sloane stood there dumfounded. When her gaze fell back down to the book in her hands, she noticed the cover was slightly frozen. She lightly ran the tips of her fingers along the ice. She sighed, adjusting her bag on her shoulder before she continued towards the beach.

As Sloane stepped out from the tree line, she felt the strong urge to immediately turn around and head back to her cabin. Her fingers absent-mindedly chipped away at the ice on the cover of her book as she scanned the crowd of people. She weaved her way between people, looking for somewhere to sit that would opt for minimal human contact. But before she made it out of the crowd, someone snatched her book from her hands.

Sloane went to reach out and take her book back, but froze when she saw it was Sylas. He pursed his lips, looking over the frozen cover. "What happened here?"

She held out her hand. "Give it back."

"Ice?" He turned the book over, studying it. Sylas looked up, scanning the party until his gaze fell to the two Khione kids. His brow quirked as he held the book back out towards her. As Sloane reached out to grab it, Sylas took a step towards her, lowering his voice. "They're powerful. Useful with the right... Leverage." Sloane snatched the book away from him. She went to walk past Sylas, but he stopped her by grabbing her arm. "Take care of that."

Sloane shoved past her brother, holding her book tightly to her chest. She made her way to the edge of the water, stopping a few feet away from the current. She sighed, removing her bag from her shoulder and taking a seat on the soft sand. She reached down, unbuckling her shoes, pulling them off. Her toes wiggled their way into the sand, as she picked off the last bit of ice from her book.

“'Scuse me, Sylas,” Harley said as she moved around him for a drink. After she got her drink, she gave him a silent cheers which Sylas raised his beer in a similar fashion to. He propped himself against the bar, taking a long drink of his beer, watching everyone move about throughout the party. His gaze continually finding its way back to his sister that made no attempt to mingle at all.

Sylas sighed, drinking the remainder of his beer. He never understood his sister's reluctance to do when their mother trained her to do. One thing that their mother told them never to do, was use their abilities against each other. If that wasn't the case, Sylas couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't persuade her. Eventually, she'd realize that its blood first and when that day came, he'd be waiting. Until then, just like he watched others, he also paid equal attention to Sloane.... Just waiting for the right leverage.

His attention was pulled towards the group near the bar when he heard Theo mention thoughts. Sylas smiled, walking over towards him. He patted Theo on the right shoulder. "Hey man, did I hear something about shots?" He nodded his head in greetings towards the others standing by the bar.

Sylas stood there quietly, listening as Ajax asked Emery about her thoughts in regards to camp. Home? hilarious. He'd feel more at home in a broom closet than at camp. But he didn't show that on his face, just smiling and nodding his head. He couldn't help but chuckle as he saw Andy teasingly mocking Ajax behind his back.

Before Nik could answer Gwen's eyes strayed to Emery who was just coming down the beach and to the bonfire. Gwen caught Em's eye and waved, and Gwen returned the favor shooting her a smile.

Ummm, I'm doing great!!! I'm kinda nervous though, it's my first 'party'."
Gwen gave him a warm smile and nudged him with her shoulder. "You have nothing to worry about, trust me" She understood his nervousness considering she had gotten quite close to her half-sibling, Finn. He was also a little uncomfortable at things like these, but there was nothing more than a good support group of friends to help. "You have Annie, Adri, Ani, the others, and I for backup". "I just hope I don't mess it up, by being weird." Gwen's face fell at his comment. She knew that he had already underwent some teasing from other campers, and it put quite a damper on his mood. "Listen, if anyone has a problem with you they can gladly sleep with the fishes tonight" She winked and there was definitely a playfully gleam in her eyes.

Gwen's eyes strayed slightly as she noticed Finn had actually shown up, she grinned proudly at the boy even though he hadn't noticed her yet. She did however notice that a girl had peaked his attention and her eyebrow rose slightly. Hmm, he hasn't mentioned her before. It was obviously going to be a topic of conversation when they got back to the cabin.

"Spin the bottle anyone?" Kalani's voice caught her attention and she turned to see the girl holding an empty bottle of beer. Oh no... Gwen thought to herself, there was practically nothing more that she loathed. She loved general, normal interaction to meet others, but forced and awkward interaction was the worst. Gwen turned back to Nik to comment on the idea but her eyes widened when she saw his face. "Oh no. Absolutely not. I am not going to play that - " Before she could finish Nik grabbed her arm and drug her over to the circle sitting her down next to him in the sand. She could only hope and pray that the bottle didn't land on her.

Domonik sat on a log near the edge of the bonfire (far away from the fire itself) hoping to avoid any interaction. Then what was the point of even coming? If I'm not going to indulge myself like everyone else? He still wasn't sure on that be he had already gone extremely out of his comfort zone to even be near a party so he wasn't going to give in to the conversation aspect of it. It was guaranteed that no one would come out of their way to come talk to him, who would want to anyway?

"Hey there, I thought you could use one of these."

Damnit.

He turned his gaze to a girl, presumably a child of Aphrodite, who was holding a beer in her outstretched hand. "No". He turned his gaze back to the sand away from her. Most would just give up after this exchange, but clearly Aphrodite children were prone to not giving up on things they started. "What? No? I don't get a thank you at least?" He looked back up at her again, with his 'resting ice face' or at least that's what Annie called it. "Nothing? Alright. Fine. Might as well take the drink then." And by that she meant practically throwing the cup at him, for Dom however a quick flick of the wrist and the whole thing landed next to him completely frozen solid in the sand. The use of his power must've startled her because she took a step back and her left heel broke off in the sand which caused her to fall flat on her butt. Dom merely raised an eyebrow in amusement as she muttered a string of curses and stood up limping back through the sand to the party. Oh gods.

Now he was really starting to get the impression that he should leave.

Mateo watched the last of the partygoers trickle in, some of them he recognized and some of them he didn't know at all. He glanced over at Adrianna and Kalani, smiling slightly at how bubbly his new sister was. This entire experience almost felt strange for him, of course he enjoyed being surrounded by a bunch of kids his age. Somewhere along the line however, it seemed to him that they all were just really out of place. After this, where did they go? Carry on with normal lives? That became quite the challenge when you have a big neon sign above you head that reads, "IM DIFFERENT'. Matty suddenly felt blessed to be a child of Hera, she definitely knew her shit. He had labeled his abilities as 'users' considering that's pretty much what they did. When he first figured out he had the ability to make everyone do whatever he said it took him everything to not make his entire Private School bow before him. He chuckled at the thought. He just had a drive to do something, but he didn't know what yet.

His eyes trained on the group just down the table from him, he knew the guy passing out drinks was Theo, one of the older campers. Actually, the majority of them were older campers except a few. One of the boys definitely peaked his interests, he just seemed to have an air of confidence surrounding him which Matty found intriguing. Suddenly his gaze turned to Kalani, a newbie as well, as she raised a bottle excitedly in the air and called for a game of spin the bottle. Mateo smirked at the idea, he used to do this all the time back at school when all the kids would party together. It was quite possibly one of his favorite party games. He surveyed the party and decided that he probably wouldn't mind kissing half the strangers here.

Before going to join his sister and the others however he looked back at Theo and the group passing out drinks. He made his way across the table from the strange boy just as Theo slid two shots to him down the table. Mateo grabbed one of them from in front of him and downed it in a second before setting the empty shot glass back on the table. "Thanks"
He said smoothly and winked at the boy, pushing back from the table and joining the group sitting in the 'spin the bottle' circle, sitting next to Adrianna.

"What?" Ajax said before turning around to be faced by Andy teasing him. She couldn't help but get a cheeky grin, giggling. "You're lucky you are cute." His hand raised so that his thumb stroked her cheek. Andy leaned her head into his touch slightly.

When Ajax's gaze shifted over to Mason, Andy tried her best not to sigh and pull away. Instead, finishing off her beer. She was exhausted of the feud between her best friend and her boyfriend. She understood both sides of their animosity, but that didn't make it any easier for her being in the middle. Her gaze was drawn back to Ajax when he began speaking. "Will you be playing spin the bottle?"

Andy's gaze drifted over towards the growing group of campers, getting ready to play spin the bottle. She raised her right hand to scratch her head. "I won't stop you if you want to." Andy quirked her brow towards him, before looking back towards the crowd. She couldn't help but get a slight uneasy feeling when she saw one of the campers practically fawning over Mason. All she hoped was that those girls watch themselves, because if they hurt her best friend, she'd crack some skulls.

She cleared her throat, smiling up to Ajax. "Don't think I'm in the mood to smack lips with half of the camp tonight." Andy made her way around the bar, pouring herself one of the shots Theo was handing out. She shot the Artemis son a wink, before looking back towards Ajax. "Out of all the parties I've been to since I came to camp, I don't think I've actually enjoyed one of them." With that, she downed the shot, slamming the glass down on the bar. "So, I'm going to enjoy myself."

With that, Andy grabbed herself a fresh beer and popped the cap. "But if you wanna play, go for it." Was that the truth? Not really. The idea of other girls or guys kissing on Ajax was the last thought she wanted on her mind. But, she wasn't the type to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do, regardless of how she feels about it. Andy walked over to Ajax, moving to her tip toes, placing a tender kiss on his cheek while patting his chest.

Drink in hand, Andy made her way towards a group of campers that were dancing near the music. As she got closer, she took a drink and started to sway her hips. She melted her way into the group, dancing and swaying with them.

Trinity nearly stopped walking all together at the comment of a date. “An official date.” Well this wasn't the response that Wes wanted. His gaze fell to his feet. “Sounds serious.” He laughed weakly, clicking his tongue in his mouth. “If I win, you be my slave for 24 hours. I know, bit of a lack of imagination on my part. But it's flexible for me.”

Wes nodded his head, agreeing to the terms. "Alright. You're on, tomorrow... We arm wrestle."

"Spin the bottle anyone?"

“You can go teach the freshies how it's done.”

Wes' brows furrowed as he looked down at Trinity. He let his arm slowly fall from her shoulders, slipping his hand back into his pocket. "I think I'm ok. Plus, I don't want it to land on my sister... That's gross."

“Who knows, you might end up on Alex." Ouch. His jaw clenched tightly. Was she still holding a grudge about last years bonfire? He didn't say anything, or let his facial expression show. Instead, remaining quiet. “Lots of, uh, you know...'cuties' this year.”

Wes was left standing there kind of dumbfounded as Trinity disappeared into the party. He sighed, rubbing the back of his head. For being the son of Aphrodite, women confused the hell out of him. The fiery blonde seemed to blow so hot and cold with him, that he didn't know what to do. He couldn't help but wonder if their kiss at the end of last year was out of pity or sympathy for is injury, instead of feelings. He sighed, trying not to think about it.

He wasn't in the mood to sit in a circle and kiss a bunch of people, and Trinity was at the bar with Harley. So, Wes walked over to the snack table, grabbing a marshmallow and a stick. He then walked over towards the bonfire, sitting down on a log and got to toasting.

Sloane overheard the cheers and gathering campers preparing to play spin the bottle. She had to fight the urge not to gag at the thought. Such a dumb, pointless game that high schoolers and horny teenagers took place in. She never understood the appeal in having to kiss a random person because the bottle just happened to land on them. Sounds like a quick way to cause drama... or get the flu. Either way, she was going to stay where she was.

She had just started to get engrossed in her book once again, when she heard footsteps approaching, a little too close for comfort. Sloane looked up from her book, just then realizing she was sitting a dozen or so feet away from the guy who froze her book. But her view was quickly cut off by some evident Aphrodite daughter. What was it with Aphrodite kids and their need to go after people who wanted absolutely nothing to do with them.

"Hey there, I thought you could use one of these." The girl held out a drink towards Dom.

"No."

Sloane closed the book, holding the place with her finger. She leaned forward, peaking around the girls legs to gauge Dom's expression. When he looked away, she figured the girl would have walked away. But apparently, not.

"What? No? I don't get a thank you at least?" Sloane's gaze didn't waver when Dom gave his best resting bitch face towards the girl. "Nothing? Alright. Fine. Might as well take the drink then."

The girl went to throw the drink at him, which Sloane thought was a bit dramatic. She was half tempted to chuck her book at the back of the girl's head. That's what she would have done if a guy was treating her the way that dumb girl was treating Dom. Some people just like their alone time... How hard is that for people to understand. But before the drink could get on Dom, he froze the liquid as it hit the sand.

The whole situation obviously startled the girl. She took a step back, and Sloane's gaze fell to the girl's shoe when she heard a snap, losing her heel in the sand. Stupid mistake, most women know to put all their weight on their toes when wearing stilettos in sand and grass. But, she didn't expect the girl to completely lose her balance. Sloane squealed softly, scooting over to avoid being squished. She held up her book like it was the only thing to defend herself from collapsing Aphrodite girl.

Sloane chuckled softly, a slight curve of her mouth into a smirk as the girl limp-stomped her way over towards the party. Her gaze slowly drifted back over towards Dom, her gaze widening slightly and cheeks flushing when she made eye contact with him. She bit on her lip, opening her book back up. She wasn't able to read another sentence, before the water's current seemed to raise. It caught her attention when the cold water reached her feet. Sloane gasped, grabbing her heels in her left hand, scooting back in the sand, trying not to get wet.

"Yeah man. Straight whiskey. I'll take another round if you want a couple." Theo poured him and Sylas two shots each. Sylas smiled, reaching out to grab his shots, but before he grabbed a hold of them, another hand showed up, snagging one of them.

Sylas gaze drifted towards a very attractive man. He didn't even bother arguing when the brunette took the shot, downing it quickly while keeping intent eye contact with him. "Thanks," he said, setting the shot glass down before giving Sylas a wink.

Instead of following after him right away, Sylas leaned against the bar, watching him walk away. And was it a nice sight to see. He looked over towards Theo with a grin. "Well, I guess that's my invitation to spin the bottle." He lightly nudged Theo with his elbow. Sylas pushed off the bar and started towards the growing circle of people. "You should join... Who knows, you might get to kiss me." Sylas teased with a teasing wink.

Before joining the party, he couldn't help but sense some of the awkward animosity burrowed deep with the Hecate daughter. He didn't have to try to hard to sense it involved Mason and Ajax. He tried not to smirk out of amusement as he started to work his magic. Slowly, very slowly, he let the slightest hint of envy and jealous ooze out towards the three. Just a nudge. If he did it too quickly, it'd be evident and they'd know that it wasn't themselves. But the slow burn is almost like the effects of alcohol, unnoticeable until it's too far.

Sylas slid his hands into his pockets, slowly striding towards the spin the bottle game. Instead of seeming too overly eager or anything else, he took a spot in the circle almost directly across from the guy who stole his shot. He sat down, but couldn't help his gaze from lingering back towards the male on multiple occasions. This game was the perfect opportunity to observe... And slowly poison others with negative emotions. This was going to be fun.

Gwen's eyes followed the bottle as it slowed and eventually stopped on Annie. "Oh easy!" Kalani spoke and planted a quick kiss on the Annie's lips. Maybe I'm overthinking this... Gwen thought as she shifted nervously in the sand. If Kalani thought it was a breeze why couldn't she?

"Hey...I'm a little late to the beginning, hope you don't mind an extra player," Gwen looked up to the ever-graceful Emery as she squeezed into the spot next to Gwen in the sand. She was grateful to have another one of her closer friends for more support in the circle. "Are we having fun tonight, Gwen? Hi, Nik,"
Emery looked like she had more on her agenda than just playing the game and making small talk, but Gwen decided not to elaborate on her suspicions. "I was until Nik dragged me into the Satan circle. I'm not good at these things Em, I'm going to look like a beached puffer if I have to kiss anyone... a beached puffer!!" She whispered to the girl, quite aggressively. Em obviously didn't take her plea for help seriously as she let out a quiet giggle and nudged Gwen in the side. "If you had to choose someone here to kiss, who would it be?" The question completely blindsided Gwen as her cheeks burned a rosy color. "What? I don't know -" It was partially true. While she trusted Emery, she was too embarrassed to just blabber away with all the campers she found attractive, especially with one.

However, her eyes deceived her as she couldn't help but survey the circle. She didn't even notice that he had joined the circle. Her eyes lingered on Theo for a mere moment, before she realized she was staring and looked back at the sand. She had noticed the charming son of Artemis the second she had arrived at camp. On the outside he was fun and endearing, not to mention incredibly handsome. However, there was something else there that Gwen couldn't quite figure out, but she noticed it. He seemed a little strained sometimes, like he was holding a lot of stuff in, she couldn't imagine what he had gone through last year.

"Xena, my love, you got something for me?"

Lise brought her back into the moment, and she turned abruptly to Em trying to put on her best poker face. She couldn't exactly reveal to Emery that Gwen would probably want to kiss her newfound brother. Awkward, right? So she tried avoiding the subject altogether by directing it back at Emery. "That's like asking me to pick a favorite food, I can't chose. I mean, who would you pick?"

Dom watched the girl stumble through the uneven sand in her broken heel, his eyebrow still raised in a state of amusement. As his eyes followed her he noticed another girl sitting in the sand. And she was staring. At him.

She broke eye contact quickly and looked back at her book, when it clicked. The daughter of Eris, the same on he had bumped into earlier. He was slightly comforted to see he hadn't entirely damaged her book, but it looked like the universe had other plans. The tide began to pick up, and he watched as the water reached the edge of her heels startling her. She scooted a couple inches back, however, it wasn't enough to escape the tide.

He stood rather abruptly and took a couple steps towards her, and flicked his wrist. Just as the tide was about to probably soak her it froze in place. You could hear it crack as the water around her crystalized into ice, forming a U shape around her feet. "Are you alright? The tide can be pretty unruly at this time of night"
He shifted his weight back and forth, from foot to foot, this was uncharted territory for him. However, there was something about her that separated her from everyone else, if he was being honest she reminded him of himself. He didn't know whether that was a good or bad thing. "I'm Domonik. Dom"It was his attempt at starting a conversation with her, a seemingly normal one. He hoped.

He unconsciously reached out a hand to help her up, realizing his stupid mistake when his hand was already outstretched. It would've been cruel for him to take it back, but he knew she had already felt how cold his skin was earlier and was most likely repulsed. However, he left his hand out in the air, and just simply waited for her to decide to take it or not.

Mateo grinned at his sister as she came to sit next to him in the circle. "So, who do you want to land on you?" He half-smirked at her opening question, she just got straight to the point. He would've done the same if he had spoken first. At the beginning of the night he most likely would've answered that question with a, 'whoever's willing'. Very man-whorish of himself, but he knew he wasn't the only one thinking that. He treated flirting as a game, not in a conniving way, although he couldn't help if it came out that way, but rather just for fun. "Well, if everything went as planned, he should be coming to sit in this circle in just a second" He winked at Adrianna and looked back to the circle to see Sylas making his way over, his eyes trained directly on Mateo. Blunt. He liked it.

He leaned over and whispered in Adrianna's ear, "Hook. Line. And Sinker. As my father used to say" His eyes followed Slylas's as the boy boldly sat directly across from him."You're not the only one with some game sis, also don't think I don't see you trying to catch the Dark Lord's eye" He chuckled and flicked a quick glance in Mason's direction. "I'm shocked you got him over here, seemed like a real stick to me, but he is handsome. Just be careful alright? You never know with those Hades kids" He said to her quietly. He turned his gaze back to the circle, watching as Kalani went, kissing Annie innocently on the lips.

He caught Sylas's eye several times, and he couldn't help but smirk. He suddenly wished he was a child of Nemesis, he'd know exactly how to bend the luck into his favor.

Andy made quick work of the beer in her hand as she flowed with the music. When the bottle was empty, she simply conjured it away instead of having to stop to find a trash can. She closed her eyes, letting herself be taken by the music. Since the war, she's had so many heavy burdens on her shoulders that she forgot what it was like to just... Live. It was kind of liberating. She could feel the tension just roll off her shoulders as the alcohol soaked into her system. One night without inhibitions, pain and sadness.

She rocked back and forth with the campers around her, letting her body sway to the beat of the music. Andy's rhythmic movements momentarily dulled when she felt hands slide over her hips. She ran a hand back through her hair as she glanced over her shoulder to see who it was. If it was anyone other than Ajax, he would kill them. But, a soft smile graced her lips when she saw it was him as he pulled her back towards him.

Andy moved her body in sync with his, her left hand resting on top of his, sliding her fingers between his. Her body melted into his arms as they swayed together. Sometimes Andy forgot what it was like being in his arms. They both were always so consumed with other things. Ajax with the camp and herself with all her inner struggles. They rarely got to just be together and enjoy each other's presence.

"Can I come to your cabin tonight?" he asked. Ajax's voice was deep and raw, but still tender.

It took a moment for Ajax's question to actually sink it. When it did, it took everything Andy had not to stop dead in her tracks like a deer in headlights. Her heart skipped a beat, then pounded uncontrollably. She started growing lightheaded, unsure if it was from the alcohol or the question. They've gone to each others' cabins numerous times, at all hours. But, this was more than a surface level question. They've been together awhile, but their relationship hadn't reached that level yet. There were many reasons why she should have said no. But, one reason why she should say yes. Something she hadn't admitted to herself or verbalized.

Her head continued to spin, but Andy let her body lean back into his to stabilize herself without making her dizziness evident. She moved her right hand back, hooking it around his neck, curling her fingers in his hair. She slowly looked back over her shoulder, glancing up at Ajax. After exhaling, she nodded her head, whispering back, "...Yeah." Once she said it, Andy felt a wave of emotions overcome her: anxiety, excitement, fear and nausea. But, she didn't let her face show it. She just held Ajax's gaze as she danced with him.

Wes stared intently at the marshmallow stuck at the end of his stick. He didn't realize that he was kind of in a daze, and that the puffy pillow was burning until he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Hope you don't mind if I join you for a little bit."

"Not at all." He motioned for her to have a seat before pulling the stick from the fire, quickly blowing out the flames on the marshmallow. "I wanted it extra toasty," he lied, making an excuse for his daydreaming. He brought the burnt treat to his mouth, taking a bite causing the goopy white fluff to make a mess around his mouth.

"Something on your mind?" Alex asked after taking a seat beside him.

Wes finished the marshmallow, then used his thumb to wipe the sticky remnants from his mouth. "I have officially found a down side to having only one arm," he said while motioning the stick towards her. "I can't make a proper s'more. I can toast a marshmallow like no one's business, obviously," he chuckled weakly. "But you can't properly squish the melted bastard between graham crackers and chocolate with one hand. My life of campfire snacks is reduced to charred white goop on a stick... With lord knows what on it." He raised the stick towards his face, furrowing his brows as he inspected it.

After a weak laugh and shrug of his shoulders, Wes started stoking the bonfire with his stick, growing silent for a long while. He sighed. "That... And you know, the pity," he said with a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders. He kept poking the stick into the fire, not looking over at Alex. He was skirting around the truth. Not that he had any issue telling Alex anything. But, more that he didn't feel like getting into it when anyone could eavesdrop on their conversation.

His attention was drawn over towards the spin the bottle game when he heard giggling and laughter. Wes didn't realize until that moment that Trinity had joined the game, which gave him a sinking feeling in his stomach. He looked back to the fire, trying to ignore it until the next round was up. "Xena, my love. You got something for me?" He couldn't help the distasteful glare he was probably shooting towards the game. For some reason it angered him, hearing someone else call Trinity, Xena. He teasingly called her that about as much as he called her blondie. But those were his nicknames. Hearing someone else use them made his stomach turn.

Wes shoved the stick into the sand. He then removed his beanie, running his hand back through his hair. He finally looked over towards Alex, giving her a slight bump with his shoulder, attempting his best smile. "Go on back to your kissing game," he said, motioning his hand towards the spin the bottle game. "I'm fine." Wes knew he probably was overthinking things. He'd tell Alex about it later that night when they were alone or tomorrow. After all, it was a party. She should be having fun, not consoling her friend.

Sloane was ready to accept her fate with the tide. It's not like it was obscenely cold or anything, but she definitely wasn't in the mood to get wet. Just when the current was about to reach her feet, the water froze. It arched around her in the shape of a horseshoe, cracking as it turned to ice. Her jaw dropped as she sat there in the sand with her book clutched to her chest.

She looked upwards towards the tall, dark boy that froze her book. Her gaze shifted back and forth between the frozen water and him. "Are you alright? The tide can be pretty unruly at this time of night" Sloane didn't know what to say, staring up at him as he shifted back and forth. He was the first person to really talk to her since she arrived at camp... Which left her speechless and dumbfounded. "I'm Domonik. Dom"

Dom then reached his hand out towards her, presumably to help her up. She swallowed, looking between his eyes and hand. After a moment, Sloane hooked her left fingers in the back strap of her heels, then used the same hand to hold her book to her chest. She hesitantly extended her hand, placing her palm in his. Dom's skin was chilled, not cold like ice but cool like an autumn breeze, soft and refreshing. Her fingers wrapped around his hand, grasping it firmly as he helped her to her feet.

Sloane felt unbelievably short standing beside him without her heels on. She looked over at the water then back towards him. "Thanks... It's the first time I've actually been to the beach. Makes sense that it tries to eat me." She flashed him a weak smile. When she looked down, she realized she was still holding his hand. Her cheeks flushed as her gaze darted up to meet his. "I'm Sloane, she said, giving his hand an awkward shake before releasing it.

After a second, she cleared her throat, brushing loose hair behind her ears. "I don't have any nicknames... Unless you count the names some of the campers call me." Sloane quickly bit her lip. Why did she say that? That wasn't important or necessary information. She was mentally kicking herself. This is why she was antisocial. As she stood there, holding her book and shoes, she could feel eyes on her. She glanced around, most of the campers engaged in their own activities. But then she saw the broken heeled Aphrodite girl glaring at her. Sloane's brows furrowed into a distasteful, disgusted bitch face.

She must have looked particularly menacing or something, because the girl promptly scurried away, disappearing into a crowd of campers. Sloane briefly smiled to herself, before turning her attention back towards Dom. "I uh... take it you don't like parties either?" Dumb question, but she had no idea what to say. She didn't necessarily feel awkward in his presence. If anything, his social ineptness was similar to her own. She just wasn't used to really talking to anyone other than Sylas and her mother... Which isn't much to go off of.

Sylas opted for more of a backseat role in the spin the bottle game. Observing was more of his forte rather than partaking. Of course, if and when the bottle landed on him, he'd make quite a show of it. Particularly if a tantalizing brunette across the way was the fate's chosen victim. Who was he to protest? After all, it's for the sport of the game.

He leaned back, stretching his arms out behind himself to support his weight. His long legs extended before him, crossing at the ankles. Sylas didn't quite see the enjoyment in girl on girl kissing like some other males do. It didn't get him all hot and bothered. Anyone kissing was just kissing in his eyes. The only kind that got him excited was when it included himself. Plus, the kiss between Kalani and Annie was anything but steamy. Seven minutes in heaven would be more exciting than watching a bunch of girl's kissing each other like five year old school girls.

But, the one thing that continued to hold his attention was the attractive gent that he sat across from. Sylas was by no means blind, and intentionally met the guy's gaze whenever he looked towards him. Spin the bottle or not, he had every intention on pursuing that. He had plump lips that looked like the prefect specimen for kissing. And if his suggestive looks said anything, it wouldn't end at just a kiss. Not that Sylas minded... At all.

Oh boy. Another girl landed on... You guessed it, another girl. Sylas tried to keep from actually rolling his eyes, although it was tempting. As if he didn't like Lise enough, her whole demeanor about the kiss was just, bleh. So far, this was the most boring game of spin the bottle. He came for the drama... And the hot boy. Nothing even remotely close to what he wanted was happening. Of course, his face showed a different story. Half seductive glances towards the main reason he joined, and half fake amusement, pretending like he actually enjoyed this game.

Dom got increasingly more nervous as she looked between his eyes and his hands. What am I doing He thought miserably, and almost took his hand back when he felt the lightest-feather touch of her palm in his hand. He was shocked surprised terrified, he didn't know how he felt. Even his own father was uncomfortable with the temperature of Dom's skin, he couldn't remember the last time someone willingly didn't mind the cold. She squeezed his hand slightly and he came back to the present helping her carefully to her feet.

Dom felt unbelievably tall standing beside her. "Thanks... It's the first time I've actually been to the beach. Makes sense that it tries to eat me." He let out a low chuckle, it was quiet, but still there. He followed her gaze down to their hands, which happened to still be intertwined. Her face flushed a very pretty rose color and the tips of Dom's ears reddened slightly along with her. He hadn't even noticed they were still holding hands. "I'm Sloane"
. She gave his hand an awkward shake before releasing it, to Dom's slight disappointment. Sloane. He bounced the name a couple times around in his head. It was a Gaelic name, warrior. Even though Dom hadn't known her for more than a couple minutes he felt like it fit her well. "I don't have any nicknames... Unless you count the names some of the campers call me." He shifted footing as he recalled the murmurs around camp about the Eris children. Her brother fit in pretty well, but Sloane didn't follow in suit. He understood how she felt, there were a few choice campers that had already given him a few names. He wanted to freeze them all into statutes.

Dom could tell she was a little uncomfortable, probably due to the heaviness of her statement. He watched her eyes drift self-consciously to the other campers, one of which being the girl Dom had scared away. "I like it. Your name, I like your name. I mean, it's one of those names that doesn't need a nickname. It can hold its own." Gods. Did he forget how to speak? He mainly wanted to get her to stop focusing on the other campers, they were all ignorant anyway.

"I uh... take it you don't like parties either?" He shoved his hands into his pockets, and let out a small, short laugh. "Is it that easy to tell? I guess, I'm not doing a great job of hiding how much I don't belong here", he looked down at the sand breaking eye contact, "If I'm being honest, I've tried to talk myself into leaving several times. I don't know what's keeping me here, or I mean maybe I do now". He dug his foot in the sand slightly, why did he say that. "Why are you here? You're the first person I've meet that has brought reading material to a party" He shifted the attention back to her and smiled slightly looking down at the book he had turned into a popsicle earlier.

[Isobel Logan] - [#800020] - [Mood]
When she'd first been sneaking down the beach she had spotted a few others engaged in their own activities and had made sure to edge away from them as best she could. Especially since once she'd begun to build her little castle, though it had by now expanded to cover a several feet in all directions, her main focus had become divided between that and her food. Even so she had caught glimpses of a commotion some distance, primarily due to the sound of people crying out as they fell or in the case of one girl being surrounded by water which promptly froze as another camper seemed to have intervened.

”I should have brought a book... if I had any to bring.” She muttered to herself, mouth half-full of bread before she rolled her eyes and lightly brushed her fingers over what remained on her plate. In moments it had expanded to a slightly more varied selection, including a haggis on a skewer and venison steaks in buns lathered in whisky sauce. There was also one or two jam donuts as she was craving something sweet to counteract the rather bland taste of the beer.

Deciding it was best to leave them be she changed her focus back towards the sea and smiled a little to herself as she listened to the gentle lapping of the waves. As relaxing as it most certainly was she couldn't help but feel somewhat antsy as if she should be doing something more, not entirely sure if that was in part due to having been cooped up for so long or because being out here felt exposed. Either way she started glancing around at the crunch of footsteps on the sand to her other side where another girl, clearly amused by something given the laughter she was barely trying to hide was settling down with her back towards the water. Isobel mused that she was sitting hopefully far enough back otherwise a repeat of earlier might end quite differently without another ice man to save her as he had the other demigod.

The thought puzzled her at first mainly because while it had been explained to her and she herself had felt entirely at ease drawing on her gifts down here by the beach it still felt strange to think that they were all like her, all different yet the same in a way. Perhaps she wasn't as alone as she thought even though it felt like it right now as she huddled behind her sand-castle walls. She glanced down and brushed her eyes, rubbing at them to stop herself from crying and taking a deep breath to centre herself.
As she looked around trying to stifle the rising tide of emotion she caught sight of another of their number approaching with the firelight of the bonfire casting him as silhouette without any real identity. Though, no, that wasn't quite true. He was easily identifying even if she didn't know who he was. The camp councillor had mentioned that even here wasn't entirely safe and that many of the other demigods had been through similar incidents as what had brought Isobel to them, and that some scars were more noticeable than others. The sight of this one armed figured cast against the flickering flame intrigued her and she wondered if he might be the one to save the other girl from the rising tide.

The symmetry of her sitting equally between two pairs of lovers, one of hottest flame and the other of coldest ice caused her to giggle a little at the absurdity of such poetic existence. ”If only life was as simple as stories" She mumbled before sighing at the thought and shifting to get a better look at the one-armed figure and the chuckling girl. Carefully lifting a pile of sand in front of her she shifted the walls of her castle aside as it began to reshape under her guiding touch. In moments a pair of glass statues roughly a third in scale of their counterparts danced across the battlements and over the moat for Isobels amusement. They seemed to be doing so with added flare, perhaps in defiance of the fact that they mirrored an event that would probably never happen given that the two figures stood almost half a beach apart if not more.

Ajax had his answer, moving his hand up to cup to jaw gently. He slowly moved around her, until he was standing before Andy. His gaze never faltering from her own. His hand then slid down her arm, until his own arms rested at his sides. With his forehead to hers, she extended her right hand slightly, taking hold of his forearm, stroking his skin with her thumb. The girl's brows furrowed slightly as she took note of his labored breathing and subtle grin.

"I love you..." he whispered.

Andy's heart skipped a beat. Or did it stop? She couldn't tell. Her quickly fell out of sync, causing her to stumble. Her hands quickly took hold of Ajax's upper arms, attempting to steady herself. She couldn't help the tsunami that crashed into her. The past year had been such a rollercoaster, making her confused more than anything about how Ajax truly felt. But her own heart never wavered. Hearing those words effected her more than Andy had ever imagined. Her hands gripped to his arms like her life line from drowning in the overwhelming emotions. Tears began to build in her eyes, no matter how hard she fought them.

Her right moved to his chest, while her gaze fell to her fingers. Andy's hand grasped at his shirt as she tried to steady her breathing. With her hand upon him, she felt his own heart racing nearly as fast as hers was. She couldn't help but smile slightly to herself. She looked up at him, up into those dark warm eyes. At first she parted her lips, but nothing came out. A single tear ran down her cheek as she took a deep breath, before whispering back up at him. "And I love you."

"I'll pass... truth is, I joined for one reason and one reason only." That wasn't all that surprising. Most people only joined spin the bottle in hopes of getting a chance to kiss the object of their affection. Wes didn't have to be Aphrodite's son to notice that, but it did help. He also wasn't blind at noticing something was also on her mind, no doubt similar to his own struggles.

"I... I have to tell you something." Wes quirked his brow, turning his head towards her. He didn't say anything, instead waiting and listening while drawing circles in the sand with his stick. "I.... I'm falling in love."

He chuckled, a slight smile tugging at his mouth. "I know." Love was like a flashing alarm. It was black and white to him. He could feel it like the wind. The strength of the breeze growing with the force of the love. Standing near Andy and Ajax was like standing in the middle of a hurricane, while sitting beside Alex was like a cool autumn's breeze.

"I just... I'm scared of telling them. I don't want to like, make things awkward for them."

Wes sighed, tossing his stick into the fire. He tried not to look, but curiosity got the best of him and his glance drifted back over towards the spin the bottle game. Of course, at the completely wrong time. He sucked in his lips between his teeth as he closed his eyes. It was just a game, right? Then why did that sight bother him so much? Trinity wasn't his and he had no right to be put off by it. But, seeing her lock lips with Theo... Hurt. Safe to say, he'd rather lose his other arm than have to watch that again. Before looking back to Alex, his gaze drifted towards his sister who stared at him as if she already knew. He gave his best attempt at a smile, then returned his attention back to his present company.

"You should tell him," Wes finally said. "'What if's can be the death of you... But, at least when you get how you feel out in the open, you're never left wondering. You've said your piece and the ball is in their court." He shrugged his shoulders. "No matter what happens, you have the security in knowing you did all you can do."

Wes slid his hand into the front pocket of his jeans while crossing his ankles out before him. "I may be an idiot... Pining after a girl who most likely sees me no differently than you do." He looks over at Alex, his expression half amused at the truth of himself and half sad. Ironic how romance and love never seems quite as easy for himself. You think it would be due to his parentage, but if anything, that just makes the absence of it hurt more. "But," he held up an index finger. "She knows how I feel... and basically the entire camp."

He sighs softly, with a little chuckle. "You can be more subtle than me." Wes smiled, patting Alex's knee. "Plus... This 'guy'," he made air quotes with his hand, as if he didn't know whom she spoke of. "He'd be an idiot if he didn't have feelings for you too." After a moment, he clicked his tongue in his mouth. "Or I could kick his ass if he turns you down... Er, try to." Wes laughed, a deep heartfelt laugh. Everyone knew he couldn't fight for shit, and with one arm... He might win a battle with a rabbit, if he was lucky.

Dom actually chuckled at her comment about the ocean eating her. Sloane can't honestly remember a time when someone laughed at anything she said... Not unless it was ironically. Sylas laughed at her often, but simply because he thought she was stupid and naive. But someone actually laughing at her, because she did something that could be considered at least a fraction humorous was nice. It was a new sensation, that she might not experience again for awhile.

She awkwardly chewed on her bottom lip, scanning the crowds of campers. "I like it." Sloane looked back towards Dom. "Your name, I like your name. I mean, it's one of those names that doesn't need a nickname. It can hold its own."

The corner of Sloane's mouth curled into a slight smile. "I... never really thought of it that way." Her right hand raised, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. "Thank you," she added, breaking the silence. It seemed the short while that they were already talking, the noisy abruptness of the part turned into white noise. Campers were getting drunk, kissing each other because a bottle tells them too and grinding their bodies together. She couldn't care less. But, the surprising part of the evening was someone actually noticing her existence when she expected to spend the evening reading a book trying not to get stepped on.

"Is it that easy to tell? I guess, I'm not doing a great job of hiding how much I don't belong here."

"Why hide it? I don't." Sloane was an outcast, putting it lightly. But, she didn't particularly care, or try to hide it. Her brother was the peacock out of the two of them. He always had to blend in, hide in plain sight. He hated how Sloane did her own thing, never conforming. It's ironic how intimidating people found her, just because she was a daughter of Eris that smiled maybe once a year.

"If I'm being honest, I've tried to talk myself into leaving several times. I don't know what's keeping me here, or I mean maybe I do now." Sloane's gaze fell to his feet as Dom dug his foot in the sand. Now? What did that mean? He couldn't possibly think that she was worth sticking around in this cesspool of raging hormones.

"Now? What's changed your mind? The potential to scare more air-headed demigods? She tilted her head to the side, looking up at him. "Or the prospect of saving more damsels from getting swallowed by the sea?" She had an inquisitive expression, holding his gaze even if he didn't hold hers.

"Why are you here? You're the first person I've meet that has brought reading material to a party."

She pursed her lips, raising her free hand up to rub the back of her neck. "Sylas made me come." Her gaze drifted over towards her brother who sat in the circle of anxious teenagers, waiting for their chance to get their kiss. Her eyes quickly darted to her feet when her brother's gaze met her own. Her company giving him a sadistic smirk that turned her stomach. For the most part, Sloane didn't care who Sylas entangled in his intricate web. But for some reason, it bothered her at the thought of him trying to bring Dom down with him.

"Figured if I had to come, I shouldn't be utterly bored." Sloane looked down at the novel held to her chest. She took it in her right hand, holding it up. "It's The Iliad. A book everyone should read, especially demigods." She turned the book over in her hands, flipping through the pages. "It's a good read, but you have to read the Odyssey once you've finished it. The Iliad is about the Trojan War, while the Odyssey follows Odysseus after the war."

After a moment of looking down at the book, Sloane took a step towards Dom. She held the worn hardback novel towards him. "You can borrow it... If you want." She gave him a slight smile, wiggling the book in her hand. "I've read it like a hundred times."

The festivities went on and truth be told, Raven was beginning to warm up to the atmosphere. She hasn't talked to anyone yet but that didn't stop her from just enjoying everyone else doing their own thing. She'd occasionally glance towards her brother's direction, either making sure he was okay or trying to muster up the courage to talk to him. There was a sigh that escaped her lips after shooting down the idea for the fourth time. Why was this hard for her?

“Mind if I join you?” Snapping her out of her thoughts was a man, tall with hands that were pretty much occupied by the looks of it. Carrying his food and drink. "Go ahead." Raven didn't mind the company so long as he wasn't the noisy and rowdy type. She waited until the guy settled in, that's when she lifted the bottle to her lips, preparing to finish off what she had left of the bitter liquid. "Enjoying the party?" A simple question to start off with. To find out who she was talking to exactly or maybe he didn't want to talk, just needed a spot to eat in peace. Either way, Raven left it in the air, he'd answer if he would like.

The demi-goddess continued her people watching, making sure to witness the amusing game of spin the bottle a group was playing on occasion. It wasn't enough to keep her full attention and soon she found her eyes wandering back over to Dom who had just gotten up. Curious. Was he leaving already? Nope. There was a girl he was headed towards. A hint of a smile formed on her lips and her gaze moved away, let them have their privacy.

Trinity was another that caught Raven's attention for a moment or so. Watching her take down that jerk was enough to make her grin against the bottle she tried to empty out into her mouth only to remember that she had already finished it. Tossing the empty beer bottle into the nearest trash bag, Raven grabbed another from the cooler. There weren't many choices and although she may have wanted something stronger, she stuck with it anyway. Same process with the cap but wanting to feel a buzz faster than she anticipated, down went half the bottle in one shot.

“Hello lady and gent,” That familiar voice. Raven didn't need to look over in order to see who it was because she knew already. She also seen her lurking around earlier. “Good to see you both make an appearance. Even if parties aren't our particular scene and we don't feel festive." The small grin that made its way across Raven's lips only grew a bit more when she lifted her half empty bottle. "Who said I wasn't feeling festive?"

After Nik scurried away to get the drinks Gwen felt a tad bit awkward. Without the boy who dragged her into the circle in the beginning, she couldn't help but feel a little out of place. Not to mention seeing Theo leave with Alex left a sad pit in her stomach, she hadn't even had the courage to talk to him, so why would she get her hopes up anyway. It was an irrational and girly crush that was probably never going to happen.

Her train of thought was disrupted when she felt a light hand on her shoulder and turned to see Finn, "Wanna head back?"
She breathed a tiny, but audible sigh of relief as Finn was a great excuse to leave the circle without looking like she had copped out. "Yes. Thank gods, I thought I was going to be stuck in this circle for forever..." She whispered back, a small grin on her face.

"Annie, me and Gwen are going to walk back now, do you wanna come?" A true gentleman. The quick thought reminded Gwen of the girl she had seen Finn talking with earlier, it was definitely a topic she was going to have to talk to him about. She got to her feet, dusting off the stray particles of sand that had clung to her legs and shorts from sitting down. Saying a quick goodbye to Em and some of the others she really didn't wait for Annie and Finn. If she was being honest the comfort of her bed just sounded too good to be true.

When they finally made it to the cabins she waved a sheepish goodbye to Annie, and offered Finn a small "Goodnight, I'll see you in the morning".

"I... never really thought of it that way." She was beautiful when she smiled. "Thank you". He was pleasantly surprised in how easy it was to talk to her, which was something that he had never experienced. So much so, that he couldn't control pretty much half the things that he said. It was a strange feeling.

Dom noticed the small bit of animosity when he asked her why she had come in the first place. "Sylas made me come." He watched her gaze shift to that of her brother's, sitting in the 'spin the bottle circle'. He inwardly cringed at the though, he could never imagine himself indulging in simplistic and pointless games. Sylas, for one looked quite self-indulged and was oddly grinning at the both of them when he made eye contact. He turned back to Sloane and gathered from the look on her face that they must've not been the best of siblings, there was definitely something off.

"Figured if I had to come, I shouldn't be utterly bored." She had a definite point, and had already completely beat Dom in the idea of 'surviving a party'. "What are you reading?" He asked quietly staring at the worn front cover of the book. "It's The Iliad. A book everyone should read, especially demigods." Dom watched as she flipped through the weathered pages carefully, she obviously was attached to the story. "It's a good read, but you have to read the Odyssey once you've finished it. The Iliad is about the Trojan War, while the Odyssey follows Odysseus after the war."

There was a small pause in her train of thought, he noticed her shift in thought, and was surprised when she took a step and held the book out to him. "You can borrow it... If you want." His expression probably came dumbfounded as she smiled at him waving the book in his direction. This was the first time someone had ever offered him to borrow something, he didn't know how to react. "I've read it like a hundred times."

He gently took the book from her hold and admired the cover for a moment looking up at her a rather goofy smile on his face. "T-thank you. I promise I'll take good care of it. Or at least try not to give it frostbite again". He glanced back at the group of partygoers and watched as the majority of them started to leave. It was an odd thought for him, in the beginning he wanted nothing more than to leave but now it was quite the opposite. "I guess I better head back" He shifted back and forth on his feet for a moment. Another thing he was terrible at, goodbyes. "It was lovely meeting you, hopefully we get to see each other again soon. I mean, I have to return the book so we'll have to- I guess it just depends on how long it takes me to read it" He needed to stop talking. His face flushed a bright red, and he took a step back clutching the book to his chest. "I'll see you around" He said quietly with a small smile before disappearing quite abruptly partially embarrassed about half the things that came out of his mouth.

When he finally made it back to his cabin he feel back into the bed, staring giddily at the ceiling. After a moment he grabbed the book and opened the cover running his thumb over the small pencil inscription, 'Sloane Astor'. He smiled before closing it and placing the book on his bedside table eventually giving into his tiredness and falling asleep.

Mateo could practically feel the vibe of the party quickly die as most of the campers started to loss interest in what was happened. He hated when parties lost their fire, there was nothing more boring than that. He leaned over to his sister, "Hey Adri, I'm going to go ahead and head back". With that he pushed himself up from the circle, dusting sand off of his pants waving a short goodbye to everyone.

He walked around the edge of the circle towards the exit of the beach not before stopping next to the boy he had laid eyes on the entire night. He leaned down next to him, his mouth dangerously close to Slyas's ear. "See you around, Sylas" He whispered with a smirk before getting up and leaving the beach.

When he got back to his cabin he quickly changed into a pair of loose Adidas pants and fell back on to his bed with a sigh. Even though the party hadn't been too exciting he was still exhausted, but it wasn't anything a little sleep couldn't fix. With that he buried himself into the fluffy covers and fell asleep immediately.

"I doubt I'll be missed until the morning. Besides," Ajax replied, then placed a kiss upon her temple. "They have Alex around still." Andy continued to move and sway along with him while his gaze scanned the party. "Let's go," he whispered in her ear, followed by a kiss upon her cheek. He then took her hand and started to lead her away from the party.

Before they disappeared beyond the tree line, Andy glanced back over her shoulder towards the party. She caught Trinity's gaze as she prepared to swim. Andy smiled raising her free hand to wave back towards her friend. Her gaze then fell to Mason, but he was emerged in conversation with some new girls at camp. She smiled softly, before allowing herself to be lead back towards the cabin.

As she walked holding onto Ajax's hand, she hadn't quite noticed until that moment how much the alcohol had affected her. For the most part she was fairly sound aside from the occasional trip ups that she quickly recovered from. She didn't realize until they were there, that Ajax had lead her back to his cabin instead of hers. But once inside, the thought was quickly wiped from her mind.

When the door closed, Ajax wasted no time in pushing her back against the door. Andy smiled up at him as he leaned in towards her, his hand gentle brushing the hair back from her face before he pressed his lips deeply and passionately against her own. She didn't know if it was the alcohol or the moment that clouded her judgement. Andy breathed heavily through her nose as their lips never parted. As Ajax's hands ran down her arms, taking her clothing along with it, her skin quickly covered in goose flesh. She broke the kiss, breathing heavily as she held his gaze. Her hands ran down his chest, until they reached his waist. Andy's fingers grabbed the hem of his shirt and pulled it up, over his head. Her nose brushed against his softly as her arms wrapped around him, moving to her tip toes before pressing her lips to his once again.

Image

Andy was deep asleep, only awoken when Ajax's arms wrapped around her, pulling her back against his warm frame in a tender hug. Her hands moved to wrap around his arms that encircled her torso. "Morning, beautiful." She smiled, giving a content, tired moan, not yet wanting to open her eyes and face the morning. It had been the first night in months that she was able to sleep through the night without a dream of the Underworld or her brother's death robbing her of sleep. "Fancy some breakfast?"

She groaned slightly when Ajax left the bed, taking his warmth along with him. Andy brought the blankets in tighter to her. She nodded her head slightly, a soft smile gracing her lips. "That'd be nice," she mumbled quietly.

"You stay there, and I'll bring it up to you, babe. Scrambled eggs on toast okay?"

Andy slowly sat up, pushing off the bed. Her left hand holding the blankets to her chest as she stretched. She rubbed her eyes, nodding her head again with a yawn. "Sure, thanks." With a sigh, she brought her knees back to her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs as she looked over at Ajax, watching him get dressed. When he looked back towards her with a smile, she couldn't fight the slight blush that covered her own cheeks as she smiled back.

It took awhile from the cloudiness of sleep to unfog her mind as she sat there. But after a long moment, Andy began to realize she was in Ajax's cabin and not her own. Why did it take her so long to notice this? A sense of dread slowly over came her as she bit at her bottom lip, tightly shutting her eyes. She hoped maybe it was a different room, or her imagination playing tricks on her. But when she opened her eyes and looked around at the room, then the bed it was like a punch to the gut. She felt nauseous.

The minute Ajax left the room, Andy ripped the sheets off of her and climbed out of the bed. When she stood up, she stumbled slightly, bringing her hand to head. Of course she had a hang over. She sighed, taking a deep breath before searching his room for her clothes. As she found the different pieces, Andy quickly wiggled back into her clothing from the night before. She didn't waste her time with her stockings, cardigan or boots, instead scooping them in her arms before walking out of Ajax's room.

Andy felt the tears sting her eyes and she quickly descended the staircase. So focused on leaving, she missed one of the last steps, nearly falling before caught herself at the base of the staircase. When she reached the front door, her free hand reached out to grab the doorknob, but she froze. Her heart raced in her chest as she stared at the wooden surface before her. Stepping out that door, she'd have to make the walk of shame all the way back to her cabin. It wouldn't fool anyone as she carried half of her outfit from the night before in her hands, everything about her screaming the morning after. That's all she needed, rumors spread about her through camp.

The party had lost it's appeal for Wes, quickly getting absorbed in the view of the night's sky rather than watching more people kiss each other or whatever. He didn't want to get up and storm out of the party like a wounded puppy. But, it was definitely easier just not paying attention at all, rather than watching and pretending to be ok. His attention was so lost in his own thoughts, that he didn't hear someone approach. He jumped, nearly screaming when Kalani poked in her head in the line of his sight. "Oi dopey."

"Jesus!" His brows furrowed as he looked up at her. "I want a new sister, I demand a refund," Wes groaned as he rubbed his eyes.

"I'm tired, walk back with me?" Before Wes could give an answer or do anything, Kalani took his hand attempting to pull him to his feet. An amused grin covered his face as all of her effort didn't budge him an inch. If he wanted, he could have given his arm one quick tug and she would have been down on the ground in a blink. She finally huffed, seeming to give up.

"I kind of need that if you want me to get up?" Wes nodded his head towards his arm. Once she released his grip, he pushed off the ground and moved to his feet. He dusted off the sand from his clothes before he gave Ani a playful shove. "You're kind of annoying, you know that?"

He smiled towards her, motioning for her to come along as he slowly trudged towards the woods. Once Kalani was beside him, Wes draped his arm across her shoulders, walking in step with her as they headed to their cabins. He couldn't help but think about how short the party was. His gaze fell to the ground when he realized it was the first party they really had since the war. A lot of friendly faces not there to join in on the festivities, especially the camps number one partier, Daniel.

When they reached their cabins, Wes gave Ani a kiss on the top of the head followed by a hug. "Go get some sleep, weirdo. Not every day here is a party," he teased. "Chances are we'll be training. So, we'll need a good night's sleep to prepare to lose.... Horribly." He chuckled, waving towards her as he made his way up the steps to his cabin.

Wes was barely in his cabin and already kicking off his shoes, and tearing the beanie from his head. He used the heel of his foot to kick the door shut, then shuffled his way towards his bedroom. As he moved, he continued to strip different articles of clothing until he was down to his boxers. With one final yawn, he collapsed on his bed, and was out like a light in no time.

It seemed as though the party had died down in record time. Sylas sighed softly as he watched more and more people file off in groups, or better yet, pairs into the woods. He definitely noticed some interesting developments leave hand in hand, giggling. No doubt he knew there would some interesting walks of shame in the morning. He better remember to set an alarm, he wouldn't want to miss it. Especially... the most predominant couple that was one of the first to slip out for the night. None other than Ajax and Andy. What an amusing night indeed.

When Sylas' gaze drifted back to the spin the bottle game, he noticed that the circle had quickly dwindled to a poor connect the dots layout. He sighed, dusting dirt and sand off the thighs of his pants, preparing to leave. Just before he went to stand up, someone leaned down behind him. Sylas could feel the warmth of his breath tickle his ear. "See you around, Sylas," Mateo whispered.

Sylas glanced back over his shoulder with a mischievous grin. "Yes you will," he replied after the leaving male, while he didn't try to hide that he watched that ass move as Mateo walked away and disappeared into the woods. He ran his hand back through his hair, pushing off his knees as he stood up and left the nonexistent circle.

Dom gently reached out and took the book from her. After a moment of scanning the book, he gave Sloane a somewhat goofy smile, causing her to laugh slightly. "T-thank you. I promise I'll take good care of it. Or at least try not to give it frostbite again."

"Sure." Sloane's gaze followed Dom's as he looked at the dwindling party. She was somewhat relieved that it was ending fairly early. She wasn't in the mood to sit around at the beach until the early hours of the morning, although it was nice talking to someone who wasn't her brother. That hasn't happened since they came to camp. With a soft sigh, she hesitantly extended her hand towards his shoulder, allowing her palm to hover. "Do you mind?" she asked, before lightly resting her hand on him for support. Once stable, she slid her heels back onto her feet.

"I guess I better head back."

Sloane nodded her head. "Yeah, of course."

"It was lovely meeting you, hopefully we get to see each other again soon. I mean, I have to return the book so we'll have to- I guess it just depends on how long it takes me to read it." Sloane noticed he was rambling, but stood their patiently with a slight smile. Dom's cheeks started to flush before he stepped back and clutched the book to his chest. "I'll see you around," he added with a smile before disappearing abruptly like the first time they met.

"Bye," Sloane said softly towards him as he disappeared.

She adjusted the straps of her bag on her shoulders. As she went to head back to her cabin, she heard Sylas. "What in the hell was that?" Sloane tensed, and started towards her cabin, indifferent if her brother followed or not. But Sylas stayed in tow, his long legs not struggling to keep up. "I don't know who's more socially awkward... Him or you."

She sighed, rolling her eyes slightly. "Not everyone wants to pretend to be something they're not... Like you," Sloane replied, a sharp bite in her words.

Sylas stopped dead in his tracks, his hand quickly reaching out and grabbing Sloane's upper arm to stop her. "Watch what you say," he hissed as his gaze quickly checked the woods around them making sure no one overheard her. "We aren't here to make friends... If I go down, you go down with me."

"Oh yeah? Then what were you doing with Mateo Lopez?" With nothing more to say, Sloane yanked her arm free of her brother's grasp. She then quickly ascended the steps to her cabin, slamming the door behind her as she entered. With a sigh, she pivoted on her heels, locking the door.

Sloane made her way to her bedroom. She sat on her bed, removing her shoes and then placed them neatly in their place in her closet. She pulled her bag from her back, and opened it. For a brief moment she panicked, wondering if she left her book at the beach. Her interaction with her brother nearly erasing the memory of the conversation prior from her mind. She sighed with relief, remembering she lent it to Dom. She couldn't help but wonder what made her do that. Sloane had never been one to lend out anything of hers, especially books. She scratched her head before undressing and changing into her pajamas. She pulled down the covers and slid into bed. But, she wasn't tired. Instead she laid there on her side, staring out the window that showed hints of moonlight between the trees.

Raven could only grin and shake her head in response to Harley. She's one of the few people Rae actually opens up around easily to. Raven listened as the Aries kid spoke. ”More to a party than just some games. For me it's all about the people. Who knows who you'll meet. There's a bit of a thrill to it.” The words held some sense to them and Raven would halfway agree. The free drinks and food was that other half ... take that back, just the drinks. Harley's slender finger at her side popped Rae's little thought bubble. She'd admit, she's a bit ticklish but she didn't jump, just shot a joking glare her direction.

The gesture did make Raven notice the bodies leaving the beach though. Guess it was that time then. The time where everyone sleeps and she's just up doing whatever she pleases because her body is a jerk. Insomnia was a bitch. Even though Raven could feel the tired behind her eyes, her mind and body on the other hand were ready to go. “Well that was possibly the shortest game and party known to men,” and she was right. The party didn't go on for long but Raven also wasn't expecting much so it didn't bother her in the slightest, only that there was no more beer. “Now, I best be off before any drunks misplace an item and point the finger in the easiest direction.” Catching sight of the Aries kid, she couldn't help but to snicker, lifting her bottle up, tipping Harley a little salute of farewell. “See you beauts another day,”

With that, now there were two but not for long as the Aries kid also got up, stretching until he was ready. ”Should get going to. Gotta get up early tomorrow morning and it won't do to be out late. Sorry we didn't really have a chance to talk Good company just the same.” Raven gave the boy a soft smile and sent him off with a nod. He was good company, as far as she could tell. Now there was only one and this one wasn't looking to go back to her cabin any time soon. She swept the beach once more, taking note of some stranglers. One of them caught Raven's gaze. She was beautiful, Raven thought. There was something hypnotic about her aura that was enough to make the young demi-god's gaze linger for a few seconds longer than she intended.

Finally looking away, she emptied what was left of her drink and disposed of it. She then got up and reached around into her back pocket. Rae pulled out the small sketchbook from earlier and the little pencil that had stabbed her in the butt cheek a couple of times while sitting. Wasn't the best idea but at least the point hadn't broken off by some miracle. Raven began moving her feet, breaking off from the rest that were sure to be gone in the next five minutes or so. Closer she got to the sea, until she was a few good feet from where the tide pulled in. She sat in the sand, criss-crossed, there were many stars out tonight, they looked nice. The moon was pretty bright too, being a good source of light for what she was going to do next.

Picking up the pencil she began to sketch out the sky and stars. The sky soon turned to the sea and some time after there a was a mesmerizing sketch of what she saw through her eyes. By the time she had finished sketching her night away, Raven had four pages filled with drawings and one happened to be of the daughter of hypnos she briefly saw after the party ended. Raven decided to call it a night. It was about 2:40 in the morning and her brain and body finally was catching up to the tiredness in her eyes.

When she entered the cabin Raven briefly stopped by Dom's door. She should have just talk to him at the party but she didn't know how to be a sister. She placed her hand softly on the door. Why did she suck at this so bad? Her eyes fluttered closed for a moment but when the faint sound of ice forming on the door reached her ears, Raven pulled her hand back fast. She gave out a little sigh, she'd talk to him tomorrow for sure. Raven continued to her room where she stripped to nothing but her underwear, leaving her clothes a heap next to the bed where she climbed in, pushing her socks off with her toes once she was under warm covers.

Gwen stretched nearly falling off the side of her bed as she let out a small groan. Although she hadn't drank the night before she was still a bit tired from the party. She rolled to her side and checked her alarm clock, it was already eight. She frowned slightly, Finn must've gone for a swam without her. Granted, she was a bit grateful that he hadn't woke her she rather enjoyed the extra hour of sleep.

She eventually willed herself to move and shuffled to her closet picking out a rather cosy cable-knit sweater and slipped on her tan birks. She left the cabin walking down the gravelly path towards the hall where they always served food. She normally spent a couple hours in the morning swimming but her hunger was greater than her longing to swim.

When she entered the hall she saw a few familiar faces, Em, Nik, and her brother. His hair was slightly curled from his apparent morning swim, and he was talking to Nik. It was a strange sight, she hadn't seen her brother approach the shy but sweet boy before. She raised a slight eyebrow a little curious but nonetheless happy Finn was expanding his friend horizon. She waved at him and Nik as she passed, offering them both a lazy smile.

She made her way over to the breakfast that was in a buffet style. Her stomach rumbled quietly as the smell of cinnamon French toast and pancakes wafted her way. Gwen couldn't deny the fact that she had a bad sweet tooth, and filled her plate with pancakes and some grapes. She contemplated going to sit with her brother but he seemed pretty invested in his conversation with Nik so she steered towards Em's table instead. "Hey stranger"
Gwen said with a smile, plopping down in the seat opposite from Em popping a grape into her mouth. "Sorry about disappearing pretty fast last night , I got pretty tired and Finn was ready to head back".

Dom was up before the sun even had a chance to rise. He always got extra early in the morning, he enjoyed the part of sunrise where everything was just very quiet. Dom also found that the woods surrounding the camp had the perfect path for a jog. He took this time to jog around the campus, there was nothing he loved more than listening to the sound of the life around him wake up in the morning. As he jogged through the thick forest, the sun just barely peeking up from the horizon, the birds started to faintly chirp and he could practically hear the forest breathe itself awake.

After his short morning warm up, he took a quick (cold) shower, and threw on a collared shirt and some jeans. He thought to wake Raven, he contemplated the idea for a moment, it seemed like a nice gesture but he eventually was hesitant enough and decided against it. Before leaving the cabin however, he snatched the book off of his nightstand and took it with him on his way to the dining hall.

As he got closer he noticed Sloane and stopped for a moment a little lost in thought. She seemed different today, her clothes especially were a definite shift from last night but the look altogether seemed a lot more Sloane. He took a step to approach her but then he noticed Ani dash in her direction and begin to strike up a conversation. Of course, he thought to himself, I mean I only talked to her once, I can't just assume that we're the best of friends. He sheepishly took a step back and headed towards the hall again and was greeted with a few familiar faces. He made his way over to a table with an assortment of fruit and grabbed an apple before finding a secluded table in the corner and made himself comfortable. He took a bite out of the apple and flipped the page, investing himself into the book and drowned out the noises of the dining hall as he ate.

Matty nearly smashed his alarm clock when the damn thing started blaring at seven in the morning. He groaned shuffling around in his blankets for a bit before managing to roll himself out of bed, his head pounding with a killer headache. He rubbed his eyes, praying that they weren't too terribly puffy, and popped about six aspirins as he marched himself into the bathroom succumbing to a long and scalding hot shower. He pretty much moved subconsciously through his morning routine the motions ingrained into his mind. He settled on a rather neutral but classy outfit, throwing a pair of shades on top of his head as well.

He shuffled slowly through the cabin pausing at his sister's door to knock on it softly. He hoped she didn't have too bad of a hangover. "Sis, I'm going to get breakfast"
He paused mid-sentence to yawn, "you know where to find me".

He made his way across the grounds of the camp, a few of the others awakening around the same time as well. As he got closer the tempting smell of bacon and buttered toast made him quicken his pace as he entered the doors to the dining hall. His eyes immediately sprung to the man-candy that had captured his eyes last night, he was currently chatting with the Hades Kid. How odd. Matty could tell Sylas liked a widened playing field when it came to the other campers, he appreciated it.

He noticed he had caught the eye of some Demeter girl, who was making googly eyes at him from across the room. He gave her a winning smile as he sat down at a table and she immediately came over to him. "Goodmorning..." "June!" She chimed in her face flushing. "June... Such a lovely name" She giggled, and let out a shy 'thank you' as Matty leaned closer to her making direct eye contact. "Would you be a dear and go get a plate of breakfast for me? I just woke up this morning with the most awful headache and I would really appreciate it". Matty smiled as her eyes clouded over, almost as if they were covered with a sheet of silver. It was just for a moment, and if you weren't looking for it, you probably wouldn't have noticed. "Of course you poor thing! I'll get it right away!" It was so much easier to influence if they were willing. It didn't take the Demeter girl but a couple of minutes before she returned with a hot plate of breakfast setting it down in front of him. "You are a lifesaver, I owe you one" He said with a small wink and watched as she blushed even more and dashed away back to her friends. Matty bit into a piece of toast, leaning back into his chair a rather self satisfied smirk plastered across his face.

"We'll get through this, I promise. Everything will work out the way its supposed to, but before it gets better, sadly, we have to go through the worst. I'm here for you, and you don't have to bare any of the pain alone. You don't have to be strong in front of me. I'll be strong for the both of us."

Andy looked towards him as a silent tear rolled down her cheek. It wasn't necessarily what she wanted to hear, but the plain simple truth. She sniffled as Ajax took her hands and helped her to her feet. But he didn't release her hands, instead leaning in towards her. His lips brushed hers for a brief moment. Andy kissed him back tenderly, but she was thankful he didn't go for another. Regardless of how good it felt to get things off her chest, it was still raw and takes time.

Ajax remained closer to her, lips maybe an inch from hers as he spoke. "I will be the one to fix all of this."

Andy's brows furrowed as she slipped her hands from his. She didn't like the sounds of that. "What are you talking about? You can't reverse time and change the past, Ajax."

For some reason it sounded like Ajax was trying to fix more than her own problems. But what else could there be to fix? The past cannot be unwritten. Daniel is dead. Jennova is dead. Wes has no arm. And no matter how much Andy tries to forget, she was tortured in the Underworld. That's just how it was. None of it could be fixed. She studied his face, but whatever he was thinking, he was certain in it. Sometimes in all her love for him, she hated how everything seemed an ultimatum with him. The world wasn't ending, it was just the rough aftermath. There was nothing more to do besides manage.

Andy sighed, glancing down slightly. "Please, just don't do something stupid."

Trinity pretended to be offended when Wes realized that she came to him out of pure competition. She wasn't fooling him when she tried to look surprised, and quickly chuckled. “Excuse you, Mr. Smacktalk.” He smiled waiting for her to start the contest. “On three. One." Her grip on his hand tighten as she prepared. Trin's game face was on. But, Wes couldn't help but just smile. "Two. Three."

Wes didn't hold back, but didn't put all his strength into it at the first moment. He wanted to gauge her own strength, and, of course, she was no weakling. A slight grin graced his lips as he then put his all into it. Her own grasp even wavered for a minute. Wes was glad he wasn't all talk. But, using a single arm for almost a year definitely would put some muscle into it.

He wondered if he should let her win. Trin seemed more like a deer in the headlights then intrigued by the idea of a date with him. After all, she didn't owe him anything. They shared a kiss... That was hardly binding. Sure, it made Wes realize all he wanted... All he'd ever want was her. But love isn't a one way street and he knew that. But, just as he thought about letting up, Wes felt a wave of energy.

Wes' smirk faded slightly as he stared at their hands. He was winning? He adjusted his grasp on her hand, and put forth another push. Then it happened... Trinity's hand fell back and hit the table. His eyes widened as he just stared as his hand continued to hold hers down against the table. When he finally looked up, he was even more surprised to see that she was smiling. He half expected her to get pissed and storm out of his cabin, demand a rematch or begrudgingly agree to the date. But she didn't. She just smiled. “Well, how about that?”

His grasp on her hand slowly lessened, but Wes didn't move his hand. Instead, just for a brief moment he let his thumb brush the top of her hand. "Yeah," he chuckled, smiling towards her. "Look at that." He didn't feel the need to gloat, nor did he want to.

“I hope you know what you're doing,” she whispered toward him.

"I do," he replied softly while holding her gaze. Wes knew her, if she wanted him to or not. And he liked what he knew. He just hoped that this date wouldn't disappoint. If she was miserable... He wouldn't stop her from leaving. All he wanted was her happiness, even if, in the end, that wasn't with him.

Wes let her hand slip from under his as she then crossed her arms. Almost like flipping a switch, the vulnerable side of Trinity closed up and the sarcastic side was back out. “So are you walking with me to get some brekky or do I have to pretend I'm sane and sit with normal people?”

"What in the hell is a brekky?" Wes asked, then his brows furrowed as if he finally understood the weird slang. "Yeah, yeah. Just let me change real quick." He pushed off the table as he stood up, swinging his leg from over the chair and started toward his room. It didn't take him too terribly long to get into a pair of jeans, and put on some sneakers. He grabbed the first shirt he could find. Luckily it was already unbuttoned so half of the battle was over.

Wes walked out of his room, his left hand slowly and sometimes unsuccessfully trying to button his shirt. He could do it, it just took awhile. He would have Trinity here starving if they sat around waiting for him to finish fastening his shirt. So, he could afford to swallow his pride a bit since he won the arm wrestle. "Do you mind helping me?... I can do it, but you might be waiting for awhile." He laughed weakly as his thumb and index figure tugged at the buttons of his shirt.

Sloane cupped her hands around her coffee mug, sipping from it occasionally. From Kalani's nod, she could only assume the girl was about as thrilled for training as she was. After all, Ani was an Aphrodite kid. They aren't generally known to be fierce warriors or anything. Not that they could help it. Her brother Wes looked like he could kick ass, but Sloane knew better than that... She heard the stories.

"I get that," Ani replied. "What's a child of Aphrodite supposed to do?" She laughed, motioning to her small muscles. "Seems like we're in the same boat."

Sloane contemplated not replying, but she sighed, trying to be as social as someone like her could manage. "Wes has seen battle, hasn't he?" She glanced over at Kalani slightly. "He might have pointers." It was a dumb comment, but it was all that she could think of. Honestly, Sloane could put money on the fact that both of them would probably be some of the first people to get their asses handed to them.

"Or, at least tell you how to not lose an arm," Sloane added with a slight chuckle.

But, what little part of Sloane's shell had opened up, quickly snapped shut when another person joined them. "Morning, Ani!" She looked up seeing the other Annie coming straight for the two of them. Then she looked straight at Sloane. "Hello. Sloane, isn't it?"

"Yes," she replied curtly. Sloane was never a fan of those kinds of greetings. If someone wasn't sure about her name or if they had met previously but forgot, then they could simply introduce themselves again. It was more polite, and was easier than asking someone to verify who they were. She didn't say anything else, simply sipping from her coffee quietly.

"We were just talking about today's training. Neither of us are particularly looking forward to it." Kalani looked towards her briefly, and Sloane shared her glance for a moment. "You know I'm a lover not a fighter."

After what seemed like a polite enough time to sit around, Sloane finished what was left of her coffee. She then put her bag over her shoulder, and picked up her old mug in her other hand. She moved to her feet, and glanced over at Kalani. "Thanks again for the coffee... See you at training." Sloane nodded her head towards both of them, and then headed back to the main hall before they tried to stop her.

Sloane made her way inside, avoiding the campers that were there. She took the coffee mugs to the kitchen, setting them in the sink. She would have washed them but honestly had no idea where anything belonged, so hopefully that was good enough. As she exited the kitchen and headed toward the door, she noticed Dom sitting by himself. Sloane had half a mind to walk over him and take a seat, but then she saw that he was reading the book she lent him. She smiled slightly to herself. When their gazes met briefly, she raised to hand in a slight wave, then exited the main hall.

Mason laughed dryly at Sylas' comments. "I'm touched, but a few things, if I were to kill anybody on this camp or that even belonged to camp, I'd have a bounty on me. The whole anti-Hades mob would finally get an excuse to swarm. Second, thanks for your input and playing match maker but Andy's not my type and I'm not hers. She wants white knight, gallant hero, picture perfect. I want spunk, endurance, someone I can bring home to Hades."

Sylas remained quiet, picking at his food and listening to Mason. Of course, he was apprehensive of Sylas, who wouldn't be. Plus, it probably sounded like he was skirting around something or full of fake sympathies. Either way, Sylas wasn't the type to just throw in the towel that easily. Some people need a slow approach, and some, just need you to come out and say it. Black and white.

"And hey, if anyone decapitated Sloane when she was defenseless, I'd be on your side too, dude."

Sylas laughed weakly, grabbing his juice and drinking from it. Mason seemed like the type of person where Sylas didn't have to wear this false facade of an average person around. So, almost like flipping a switch, he leaned forward resting on his elbows. His entire expression changed from some who was trying to make a friend, to the cold asshole he was. If a Hades kid couldn't appreciate it, then who could?

"But doesn't Hecate live in the Underworld?" Sylas quirked a brow toward Mason, while resting his palms on the table. "Andy doesn't know what she wants. It's all a matter of... Simple persuasion. And well, if the Valises are out of the way?" He shrugged his shoulders slightly, allowing Mason to connect the dots how he saw fit. Of course he knew that if the Hades boy killed the beloved Ajax, that would hurt any chances he had with the left over baggage. But, there were always other paths to take.

"There are more ways than one to accomplish what you want." Sylas' voice was low but full of intent. No, Mason didn't have the ability to get people to do what he wanted. Working alone, of course he'd get his hands dirty. But, Sylas had no problem dirtying his hands... Or better yet, making others do his dirty business for him. "There can't be a bounty on your head if you're not the one doing the killing."

Sylas grabbed a grape, popping it in his mouth, allowing Mason a moment to think. "Let me put it plainly." He held Mason's gaze as he spoke his next words only loud enough for him to hear. "Do you want help with the Valises, or not?" he asked, sliding his bowl of fruit towards Mason almost like a peace offering.

Atticus passed out in bed fully knowing what consequences lied before him the next day, so he wasn't surprised when his sister came into his room. He lazily laid there, too in love with his bed sheets to want to move right now but he was feeling a little pleased with himself. He was exhausted from the night before but only because he spent a big part of his day blessing a shield for a camper. This camper was also someone who Kit had his sights on for a while and that was because he had something Kit was after. Instead of attending the party like he should have, he sacrificed this event for a good cause and Eve would find out soon enough.

Speaking of which, she crossed her arms standing at the foot of Atticus's bed. “How’d you sleep?” Atticus turned over, half of the world coming into view as he slowly opened his eyes, adjusting to the light. "like a princess." He lazily grinned. Evelyn had made an effort to step out of her comfort zone by attending the bonfire, but also seize an opportunity to gather more sense of other demigod occupants, while Atticus didn't make an appearance. “I could have used you, you know I have terrible people skills,” she stated and sat on his bed. To some, she might have come off disapproving or angry but Evelyn merely preferred her half-brother there.

Kit couldn't help but feel a little guilty and sat up. With his messy hair perfectly covering his blind eye, Kit raised his arm and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. He was going to apologize but decided to let his sister speak instead, gladly being there to listen whenever. “I spoke with the youngest demigoddess and she must have punched and scorched me in her head at least ten times.” McKenna's dark gaze had burned into Evelyn's skull for most of the night so the image was pretty vivid in her head. Not that it was traumatic, more unpleasant. Atticus, on the other hand, rose an eyebrow at Eve. "Wait, what did you say?" He knew how his sister could come off to others sometimes so he didn't think it'd hurt to ask. Though, he did sound just a tad bit accusing towards Evelyn since he asked what she did instead of what happened.

Evelyn gave a heavy sigh reflecting on the night passed then looked at her brother who had begun to stretch the morning fatigue away. “I'll let you get changed then we can grab breakfast together. Deal?”

With a nod and a yawn, Atticus let his sister exit his room as he got up and dressed for the day. He rubbed the groggy feeling from his eyes and when he opened them again, the whole world came into view regularly. The blindness temporarily gone as he needed.

Atticus walked with Evelyn to the hall. It was already filling with campers as more of them greeted the morning from the night before. Seeing some with hangovers almost made him reviled he didn't attend. The gods only knew how well he'd handle a hangover himself, probably complaining to Eve that his head hurt every ten minutes. Shaking the thought from his head with a slight smile, Atticus escorted his sister to an empty table. Time to begin to make up for last night. He sat across from her but leaned in halfway smiling and his hands folded on the table. "So, what would my dear sister like to eat this morning?"

At first light Raven stirred in her bed, contemplating the thought of getting up but after hurting her eyes looking at the light coming in through her window, she decided against it, pulling the covers way over her head and getting in another hour of sleep before actually starting her day. Once she was up and dressed, Raven noticed that Dominik had gone off ahead. It wasn't really a surprise as the boy was usually up before her anyway but she'd catch up to him sooner or later. Her head faintly ached but it wasn't a hangover, more like lack of sleep, a feeling she was all too acquainted with.

She gave a rub at her temples then hung her hair in a comfortable ponytail. Not too tight or the ache would turn into a full-on headache and she wasn't down for it today. There were a few stretches, laps and pull-ups involved in her morning warm up but nothing she couldn't handle. After the exercise, Raven headed back to her cabin for a quick warm shower, the soft smell of honey clinging close behind her when she finished. The faint thumping of her temples was soothed a little but not completely. Only a cup of tea would cure it and with that thought in mind, she made her way to the hall.

It didn't take long at all to spot the faces she had seen last night at the bonfire or at least the ones she knew. Tea was on the brain though, sweet, delicious tea. Raven walked over to the coffee machine and had it dispense a cup of hot water instead by not adding any of the grounded coffee beans, to begin with. She reached over and grabbed a packet of oolong tea and dropped it into her cup. The tea bag instantly infused the water with its pleasant aroma and almost orange tint which brought a satisfied smile to her lips as she added the honey. After she had finished her preparations, Raven grabbed a nice juicy peach and turned around. She spotted Dom, her now more than likely destination, giving Harley a wave with a slight grin as she passed by.

When she approached Raven did her best not to seem awkward. Sitting across from him, she took a few sips of her tea before setting it down in front of her. She studied the cover of the book he was reading for a second. "The Iliad, huh? I didn't know you liked such books." She took a bite of her peach, trying to act natural. A bit nervous and a bit eager to talk to him, finally. "I have the Aethiopis, it's another good read if you like that one." Raven let Dom take his time to answer, there was no rush or pressure on her side, just genuine curiosity about the boy who sat across from her.

"That's alright. I had a bit much to drink, so Mason walked me back afterwards." Gwen waggled her eyebrows slightly at the comment, "Mason huh? I didn't expect you to go for the dark and mysterious type". Gwen was quick enough to swat Em's hand away as she snatched one of her grapes popping it into her mouth, "hey! There are plenty of grapes at the table" . Em just shrugged at Gwen's comment as she swallowed the stolen grape, "There, now we're even."

"Alright, fair enough".

Gwen watched as Em's eyes trained just off to Gwen's right, and she turned her head to see who had caught her attention "Theo!" Oh gods. He had a broad grin on his face, he was devilishly handsome. She whipped her head back around to the table and prayed that she would restrain from properly embarrassing herself.

Theo plopped himself down next to Em joining their table. "Hey Em, hope you're feeling alright this morning. You had a good bit to drink last night," Gwen smiled as she was Em pinch him in the arm in retort, it reminded her of Finn and herself. "That's Em-ery to you, buster," Gwen let out a soft chuckle as the siblings went back and forth, and she stabbed her fork through a piece of pineapple, munching on it accordingly.

"Really though... are you ever going to introduce me to your pretty friend here." Gwen froze mid-chew her cheeks blushing a faint rose as she raised her eyes to Theo who looked pretty satisfied with himself. Em clearly wasn't having his flirtatious banter "I was going to... Then you opened your fat mouth." She refrained from laughing at Em's snarky comments, the two were clearly related.

"I'm Theo. And... you must be Gwen. It is certainly a pleasure." He extended his hand for her to shake, which she found a proper gesture, but nonetheless shook his hand gently. Her hand felt small compared his. She was like a fish out of water, frozen in place. She hadn't expected him to come on so strong and it completely threw her off guard.

She realized she had been holding on to his hand for too long and quickly took it back. Her face flamed even more as she noticed Emery trying to hold back her laughter at the awkward situation. "As you have so astutely pointed out, Theo, this is Gwen. And Gwen, this is..." She held a slight pause, "...my brother, Theo."

Finally, Gwen mustered up the courage to speak up. "It's nice to finally meet you, Emery has talked a lot about you. All good things, I promise." She tucked a stray auburn hair behind her ear and offered him a shy smile. She wasn't used to being so nervous around others, but she couldn't help the fact that her crush on the boy had completely stuck her foot in her mouth."I saw you at the party last night, but it ended so fast and you were busy so I didn't have the chance to introduce myself." Of course, there was a little bit of an underlying meaning. For one, they had made eye contact a few times but Theo seemed a little into Trinity after their kiss. She wasn't daft, of course those two had a little history and if Theo was planning on charming Gwen for a rebound she wasn't entirely here for it. Even if she found him incredibly handsome.

Dom flipped through the pages soaking in the book itself, he hadn't been much into true classics but something about it engrossed him. Maybe it was Sloane, maybe some tiny thought had told him if he read it he'd understand her a little better. Speaking of Sloane, as he flipped a page his eyes strayed above the cover of the novel and met her gaze. She must've escaped the conversation outside and made her way into the hall. She smiled and waved slightly, in which Dom smiled back. His heart panged a little when she didn't join him at the table, but it was irrational. They had only just met.

Dom's gaze traveled back to the pages, so when his half-sister sat down in front of him he didn't even notice her presence until she spoke up. His gaze fluttered from the word he was on to her, a little startled but mostly shocked. He hadn't expected her to make the first move to talk, the fact she did speak first made him feel a little guilty. He should've introduced himself already, that's what normal siblings did. "The Iliad, huh? I didn't know you liked such books."
He could tell she was a bit nervous, and he didn't blame her, he was too. He was quiet for a moment, partly because he had no idea what to say, or how to even approach the conversation. He had been an only child and a strange one nonetheless, but he needed to try. Raven was quite possibly the only one in this camp who could truly understand him. "Hmm? Oh, it just something a... friend gave to me. Just to pass the time". His index finger drew a steady, small circle on the page of his book, a nervous tick to help him concentrate on the conversation. "I have the Aethiopis, it's another good read if you like that one." He offered her a faint smile, and nodded his head slightly. "Thank you, I have a few as well, but my collection is a bit scattered. The Jungle, The Grapes of Wrath, Lord of the Flies." Dom liked anything striking, and powerful, novels that changed the very way you think. However, he didn't mind a classic ever so often.

"I hope you've been uhm, enjoying yourself at camp? I know for me it's been a little difficult", especially as a child of Khione, "So maybe you've fared better?" Raven seemed to be a little more outgoing than he was, she had a charisma about her that he envied. So maybe she had already acquired friends, or maybe they were more alike than he thought.

Mateo had dug into the plate before him, a little surprised. Although the food fared a little less than what he was used to back home, it was quite delicious. He had just stabbed into a piece of cantaloupe when a girl, he hadn't met before approached him. “Morning. Can that nifty trick be taught or is she just a peach?” She was a little rough around the edges, or so he assumed but he didn't mind the edge. Not to mention she had noticed his little trick and was amused rather than appalled. He smirked and lifted is fork in a 'ya got me' gesture. "A magician never reveals his secrets, but if I might add the peachiness definitely makes it a bit easier". That statement was true, the more willing they were the easier it was to compel. "If you'd like to see it in action however, I'd be more than happy to have you fetch me a glass of water." He raised an eyebrow, his smirk growing a little bigger, but when he saw her expression he laughed. "I'm just kidding, I've had enough fun this morning already".

“Did you have fun last night?” Matty turned his head to the side letting out a soft chuckle at the question. "As much as I could. The damn thing ended before all the real fun would start. I guess I was a little let down, I expected a demigod party to be more exciting than the ones the frat boys throw on back home. Tell me, have you ever seen a nineteen year old boy take ten shots of vodka in a row, recite the Gettysburg address, and then jump through a window? It's more exciting than you think." What a wild ride his short time at college had been. He'd seen things, that no one should probably ever see in their lifetime, but hey that's college for you. He nodded towards her, taking a bite out of a piece of bacon. "What about you? Everything you've ever hoped?"

“No, yeah, sure,” Trinity replied as she agreed to help Wes with his buttons. He glanced down at her slightly, noticing a little blush on her cheeks. He didn't smile, although he wanted to. Instead remaining quiet, and not moving to make it easier for her. Occasionally as she worked, her fingers would brush his skin. Wes thought nothing of it until she mumbled a quiet, “Sorry.” His smile met hers when she finished. “Good to go.”

"Thank you." Wes raised his hand, tugging at his shirt slightly to readjust it against his torso. He then took the loose right sleeve and tucked it inside the shirt so it didn't just flop around carelessly. The walk towards the main hall was quiet, aside from the sound of twigs and leaves crunching under foot. Wes was sure everything was probably overwhelming Trinity, and he didn't want to make it worse, so decided to opt for silence on his end as well.

Wes looked around at the other campers who slowly migrated towards the hall, noticing his sister sitting under a tree with another one of the newbies. She smiled and waved toward himself and Trinity. He raised his own hand to return the wave. Then his attention promptly returned to his present company as she finally spoke up. “She's lovely, your sister. You two seem to connect really easily. I mean it makes sense, you're both so...loving I guess.”

He smiled back toward Trin with a chuckle. "Right, an Aphrodite kid loving? Who knew?"

“You must be excited to have another person to bug,” she added with a bump against his shoulder. Wes watched her as she spun around, walking backwards but still facing him. “Uuh, you should also probably teach me to be more socially pleasant so I can get a head start. You know, get the family to start liking me and approve of me in the early stages.” She winked with a chuckle.

Wes quirked a brow slightly at the comment. He hooked his thumb in a belt loop of his jeans, studying her slightly with curiosity. "You go from a deer in headlights at the thought of an official date... To wanting me to prep you to meet my family?" He couldn't fight the smirk that crept across his face while he nudged her shoulder playfully with his own. "And for the record," he added, resting his elbow on her shoulder. "My family only consists of Kalani and my father. Ani loves everyone... And my father? Well, he hates me, so he'd probably like you." Wes chuckled softly.

Wes stopped in place when Trin grabbed a hold of his arm. His brows raised, looking at her curiously. “Can you compel me? Like fill me so much devotion that I'd do anything?”

He cleared his throat, surprised by the question. "I mean... Well, yeah I could, but—"

“Do it. Turn me into a teddy bear. Make me hug someone.” Wes parted his lips to interject but Trin was on a roll, so he let her finish. “Come on Ken Doll, make me do something un-Trinity.” She then began to repeatedly poke him to egg him on and do it.

Wes stared at her poking finger with furrowed brows. "It doesn't quite work like that." He laughed and quickly grabbed her finger before she can poke him again. He doesn't release his grasp on it as he continues. "I can't make you do anything. I can only give you a strong sense of love, devotion or obsession... Then anything beyond that is whatever your twisted little psyche decides."

He wasn't necessarily saying no, he wouldn't do it. But, Wes wanted Trinity to understand the full gravity of what she was asking. No one likes their mind or emotions being meddled with. It'd make her feel like a puppet to something beyond her control. "Plus, if people can't accept you for who you are, then they obviously don't deserve you as a friend. Because I think you're perfect the way you are." With that, he shrugged his shoulders in a matter of fact way. He released her finger as he looked down at her. "But, if you really want me to do it... I will. But, you can't be mad at me if you don't like it or do something... Well, undesired."

Sloane hesitated for a moment in the doorway of the main hall. She was glad Dom was reading her book. She didn't know if it was out of obligation or general curiosity, but it was still nice to see. No one ever took interest in similar things to her. But... She did kind of practically shoved the book at him. Sloane had half of a mind to turn around and tell him that. That he didn't have to read her book if he didn't want to. Then Raven sat with him, and her mind changed. She could handle one on one interactions but once groups got bigger, she got more uncomfortable.

She scanned the hall until she was met by a piercing gaze from a far off table. Her brother gave her a mischievous smirk, no doubt in part to his current company. But also behind a somewhat innocent grin was more... A warning. He knew who she was looking at, and she could imagine his words ringing in her ears. You have a job here and that isn't to make friends. Sloane tensed. After a moment, her gaze briefly darted towards Dom once more before she inhaled sharply and ducked out of the hall.

Sloane made sure to walk in a different direction than the way she entered to avoid running into Kalani and Annie again. Once she was down at the far end of the field, her pace slowed as she came to the base of a large tree. Without a moment's hesitation, she climbed up into it, stopping on a thick branch. Sloane sighed, trying to relax in her solitude. She leaned her back against the trunk of the tree, her right leg dangling over the side of the branch, while her left was bent and brought towards her chest.

Up that high, most campers would walk right past her without noticing her there. Sloane liked that. It was easier to avoid doing whatever her brother or mother wanted her to do if she didn't allow people to get close to her. Unlike Sylas, who tried his best to mold to the camps standards, she preferred to appear like what most people assumed of an Eris child. It was her own repellent... Well, for most people aside from Kalani, who can't help it based on her parentage, and Dom. Which, Sloane couldn't put a finger on it as to why he doesn't seem put off by her.

With a soft sigh, Sloane reached in her bag and pulled out her leather bound journal. Writing seemed to be her only solace. She didn't have the luxury of talking to anyone about how she felt. She couldn't even really do it in her journals because Sylas would go through her things on a regular basis and read them. But, out of all the things her brother was, he was dense and poetry was greek to him. It was her only way to get out what she was feeling without writing it out in black and white. Sloane let her pen glide effortlessly along the page as the soft breeze blew loose raven hairs across her face. It was peaceful, if even for a moment.

Mason smiled and took one of the offered grapes. Check one for Sylas. "That's all you had to say." Sure, Sylas could have strolled on over, plopped a squat and been like 'hey, wanna partner?' But, he had more tact than that. Also, it'd probably seem less sincere and more like a joke just tossed on the table like that. There was a method to everything he did, even if it wasn't apparent to others.

"I could use the help. But with respect, I would prefer my..." Mason looked him over. "murder pal? to be someone who, at the least, I know isn't going to stab me in the back the first sign of trouble. No offence to your gifts."

Sylas shrugged his shoulders while pursing his lips. Sound thought, he was sure it probably crossed a lot of people's minds. It was nothing new. "No offense taken. But with similar respect, the same could be said of a Hades child." He didn't skirt around the apprehensions like Mason did. He knew it had to do with him being an Eris child, and it didn't bother him. "But, you can rest assured when I give someone my word, I follow through," he added, taking a grape and popping it into his mouth. "And I don't scare easily. I'm not frightened of a little bit of lightening."

What Mason might not know is that Sylas isn't all talk. Yes, he can induce mass chaos on many levels. The easiest being making others just begin fighting each other for no apparent reason. It's natural to assume Eris kids would be... Well, pussies. Once they have to get their own hands dirty, they don't know how to wield a sword or defend themselves. But, Sylas had the best education money could buy, with extensive classes in fencing. He could fuck up a Valis's day without a single drop of his abilities. He'd let Mason discover that for himself during training.

"I'm curious to hear your plan of action if you even have one. Or should I just trust you?" Mason asked. "Also, does this make us friends now?"

Sylas watched Mason toss the grape in the air and catch it in his mouth. He chuckled. "I think allies would be a more appropriate term. Friends aren't really in my wheel house." That wasn't to say a friendship wouldn't follow, but Sylas didn't have friends. A lot of that due to the simple fact that he was... Basically a high functioning sociopath. But, that's a technicality. "And no, I don't expect you to just trust me. Trust and friendship is earned... Not freely given."

He tapped his fingers against the surface of the table for a long moment, before finally speaking up again. "Well, I mean we could simply just corner one of them... Stab stab. Job's done," Sylas said dryly, obvious that it wasn't the best idea for a plan. "That lacks... Creativity, for lack of a better term. Sure, death is the end goal but we don't want it to be swift and merciful. It's more satisfying destroying someone, breaking them down and ruining them, root and stem." He paused for a moment to gauge Mason's expression before continuing. "I don't know how devious you are... But, I liked the idea of turning everyone they love against them."

Death is simple. It's quick, to the point and over in a blink. But, there is an art when it comes to truly ruining someone. You take everything away from them, their power, position and those they love. Leave them alone in the world with no one but themselves and the thoughts of their own transgressions. Then and only then, is it the time to kill them. Killing someone when they have everything makes them a martyr, but killing them when they are nothing? It's like erasing them from ever existing in the first place. You're not seen as a monster... But a hero. It's all about perspective.

"I won't do anything reckless," Ajax promised. But, something deep in Andy didn't believe him. She didn't say anything though, instead simply nodding her head. "You go on ahead, I'm going to go for a walk." He placed a kiss upon her head. "I'll come find you when I'm back."

Andy sighed. "Alright." That was all she could really bring herself to say before she turned and left Ajax's cabin. She walked as swiftly as she could through the woods, hoping not to cross paths with anyone. She wasn't in the mood for the rumors or whispers about her making the 'walk of shame' back to her cabin after spending the night with Ajax. Luckily for her, it seemed most of the campers were already up and not lingering around their cabins, so she made it back without any incident.

She let out a sigh of relief when she closed the door to her cabin, throwing her things on her bed. Andy trudged over to her bathroom, stopping before the sink. She looked up at her reflection, groaning at the sight of herself. Last night's mascara left trails down her cheeks. Her eyes were still blood shot and puffy. Then there was her hair... Andy gripped the porcelain sink, taking a deep breath. After gathering herself, she stripped down and got in the shower needing to wash the past day off of her. Of course, the water could only wash away the dirt, not her own racing thoughts.

Andy wasted no time once she was out of the shower. She got dressed quickly, and left her wet, curly hair free so that it could air dry. Then, like she had been for nearly a year now, Andy pushed all her struggles, worries and pains to the back of her mind. The moment she stepped out of the door, it was like nothing was wrong with her. She had gotten good at it over the past months. It was only a select handful of people that Andy let see what was really going on with her, but the new campers didn't need to know. She still had to be strong for camp, for her friends... And herself.

She made her way toward the main hall. Andy missed out on breakfast at Ajax's so her stomach was growling something fierce. When she reached the open field, she came up behind Wes and Trinity. They seemed extra smiley that day, which helped lighten Andy's own mood. Instead of interrupting them, she flashed them both a smile and a wave as she moved past them, beelining for the hall. Once inside, she grabbed herself a bowl of cereal and banana. Turning around, Andy scanned the room trying to decide where to sit. She had half a mind to sit with Mason, but seeing him with another camper, she simply smiled. It was nice seeing him make new friends. So instead, she opted to sit at an empty table and dig into her food.

STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT - ALARIC HART

ImageHe headed to the hall with a large bag over his shoulder prompting the camp attendees outside to follow him as he passed so he could make the announcement. Other staff patrolled the camp rounding the strays up or those that chose to slumber in their cabins.

Once he was burrowed in towards the back of the hall, he begun. "Excuse me." He cleared his throat. "Excuse me." Having little success to gain their focus that way, he whistled loudly, its sound easily carrying through the hall.
"Great. Now, it has come to my attention that the camp has been making ill on its promises to help harness and flourish your powers and provide exciting activity. So today, we play an extreme capture the flag. And yes it's mandatory that you participate. As elementary as that may sound, you need it. Welcome to camp. The teams will be split up in two.."

He cleared his throat and read from his list. "The Red Spartans: Alexandria, Andromeda, Dominick, McKenna, Ji-hyun, Sloane, Theo, Harleen, Finley, Atticus, Adrianna, Kalani, Elias, Nikoloas, Lise, Mason."

He looked up from his list expecting the groans to roll in but protesting would get them nowhere.

"The Blue Trojans: Ajax, Gwendolyn, Trinity, Wesley, Sylas, Annie, Seung-min, Emery, Dimitri, Duke, Keith, Isobel, Mateo, Areum, Raven and Evelyn."

"You die, you lose. You tap out, you lose. You get your color taken from you, you lose and come back to the hall and watch."
He dropped his bag with a grunt on a nearby table with a clatter. "Your colors are at your base. These are your weapons. You do not have to use a weapon, they will not be given to you. You can use your powers." He smirked a little. "Welcome to the Hunger Games." The reference to the gripping YA book probably went over at least half the camp attendants heads. Most didn't give reading the time of day, and those that did read probably didn't concern themselves with something so modernized, their noses either stuck in the air or buried in work of literature and ancient tales instead.
Alaric was mostly referring to the cornucopia aspect. The weapons would be scattered among the woods and there’s for the taking, most of which were right at the center of the woods, gleaming and beckoning to be taken in the crossfire.
The camp attendees could figure out for themselves that the pain they could experience would be no more than a phantom pain via the weapons, traps and beasts that the very gods themselves, and some demigods designed and helped set up.

It would be best to see them treat it as real as possible.

"Do not go for fatal blows on each other," he warned as the final and only rule. A demigod turning on another demigod that way was vicious and cruel, and Alaric as well as other staff had no tolerance for it. It had no place in their camp.
"There are currently some hostile beasts prowling the woods," he assured in case anyone was disheartened by the idea of no-fatality experience. However, their very jaws and beings were enchanted so when they clamped down on a demigod fatally, they'd be warped straight to the hall. "You have two minutes to get to the woods, get your colors on, hide your flag within these perimeters," he pointed to the map's red and blue colored area on opposite ends of each other -AKA their bases, "devise a plan and create a universal safe word if you have to."

"I hope you're all awake, because time starts now."

Image "No offense taken. But with similar respect, the same could be said of a Hades child."
It was refreshing to come across someone so wise and Mason nodded with the statement to show, likewise, no offense was taken. "But, you can rest assured when I give someone my word, I follow through," Sylas added taking another grape from his bowl. "And I don't scare easily. I'm not frightened of a little bit of lightening."
Mason found himself nodding again and shrugging. Many would claim so. Jenn wasn't scared of lightening but the psycho bitch cut her head off. If you weren't scared of lightening and submissive to the spawns of Zeus they were particularly hostile because you didn't spoon-feed their massive egos.

"I think allies would be a more appropriate term. Friends aren't really in my wheel house. And no, I don't expect you to just trust me. Trust and friendship is earned... Not freely given."
"That it is."
Giving Sylas another look over Mason guessed they wouldn't evolve to such a stage. Keeping things business or as strictly allies would fit them both best. Worry of each other likely wouldn't come into the picture until after the Valises were gone. But who knew what the future held.

"Well, I mean we could simply just corner one of them... Stab stab. Job's done." Thankfully his lack of enthusiasm demonstrated that was among the most plain ideas and not a real one. "That lacks... Creativity, for lack of a better term. Sure, death is the end goal but we don't want it to be swift and merciful. It's more satisfying destroying someone, breaking them down and ruining them, root and stem."
What did he think Mason was doing? In addition to waiting for the right moment to present itself, he was trying some behind the scenes works. But he liked that Sylas liked the slower route. It was a bit more of a gamble but if it was a job done right, it would be most rewarding.
"I don't know how devious you are... But, I liked the idea of turning everyone they love against them."
Mason actually threw his hands up in the air and gestured to the hall. "Thank you! Finally someone gets it! I know I'm pretty but I haven't been spending my time doing my hair and flossing my teeth and solely thinking of ways to kill them." Mason hadn't exactly been targeting people they love to turn against them either, for the sheer fact that he couldn't even stand to be in radius of a Valis worshiper and they were harder to convert.
Actually, Mason was doing little in truth. He was just being a bit more social and charming and Alex already did the murdering. Mason did have one good asset though, however that was more an ace up the sleeve for him.

After a long moment in thought with his tongue pressed to his cheek, he spoke again. "I wouldn't mind dying to make a point. Providing old Pops brings me back." The camp needed to see the monsters under the surface. That it wasn't a one off thing. Like Sylas he wanted to ruin and bury their reputations and ruin the trust fellow demigods mistakenly placed in them. And sure, just to make it really burn, make their world collapse, turn the people they love against them.

Then, a staff member paced through the hall capturing Mason's attention. As he could have guessed, he was on a mission. Once he gathered everybody's attention, he laid out the task ahead.

It was in moments like so where Mason really had to reflect on his life choices, or certainly the choice of returning to camp and not killing Zeus's kids. Now he was teamed up with the one he despised most of all. At first he was consumed in hatred and distaste but eventually it evolved to a glimpse of opportunity. Extreme capture the flag meant full contact. In this case, it meant letting the demigods run wild like animals. Mason glanced back to Sylas. "Is the boy next door facade still staying on in the heat of competition?" He smirked and got up. Now was the time to see what those twins were made of that so easily slipped under the radar.

His legs carried him there automatically and he was in another head space entirely, even as he wrapped the band around his arm. Except when he had to tune in on the team speech, Mason supposed that might have been important. Important to feign attention in anyway as winning or losing didn't really matter to him. How many rematches could happen down the track, and what did winning really prove? That you had a good team and the right players? That they were lucky? Mason crossed his arms and waited for any outgoing brains to take initiative.

ImageTwo minutes!? Duke paced off to what was temporarily known as the Blue Trojan's base. He wasn't going to hide the flag, leaving that duty instead to the likes of Ajax or better, Seung-min. He pulled a blue bandanna and wrapped it around his forearm.

Duke pressed his tongue to his cheek on his little over-eager team. The hype was good, but they needed a strategy implemented, especially when the opposing team had the likes of Lise and McKenna. "We need defenders, attackers and maybe a mid-field. We also need to consider our biggest threats. Harleen, she's quick, she's deft, you dont want your band taken off you without knowing you've even been touched. Likewise, Andy, military brat and witch, she'll be more confrontational and physical, keep your wits about you. Kalani can seduce you, stay focused. Adrianna, I've never seen her competitive side but I can guess she has one, and not to underestimate her."
He gestured to Mateo because the very same applied to him. Then again who wasn't a threat? He gave up. "Take out the Spartans brains, healers and manipulators first, then deal with the brutes. They probably think we're a confrontational side too, that we're going in with guns blazing, but let's try to be a little more subtle. Travel in pairs if you can. Not attached at the hip though."
If there was an ambush, he’d prefer one teammate to go down and not a collective of them.
"Wes, Raven, Dimitri, Isobel cover the middle, please." Together the four made a disarming pair, and a protective one too if they accessed the right emotions and triggers, and powers of course.
"Emery, Seung-min, Sylas and Evelyn, you're our secret weapons. Aim for the Spartan's flag. Avoid the heat of the battle if you can, use evasive or defensive techniques." The four could get creative. Their gifts and applications were always a surprise and they weren't the type that urged an immediate threat. "Ajax, Trinity; they'll be expecting us. Let's not disappoint." They were probably the renowned biggest war-heads. Without them near the front line of battle, the opposition would get suspicious about their presence.
"Daniel -uh, Keith, stay as a line of defense. Gwendolyn, I think you'd make a strong offense but it depends where you want to go, you'd know where you're best kept. Annie, I think we need you to press forward too. Look after our assault team and stun some opponents. If that makes you uncomfortable, stay back with Keith."
Duke looked between the remainder of Areum and Mateo. The demigods whose attitude he most struggled to grasp. Daniel needed some help in defense, but he felt their usefulness could be better spent elsewhere. In the middle as both offensive and defensive forces.

Then he caught himself, swept up in heat of the moment. "That's my suggestion anyway," he said so the more sensitive didn't kick up a fuss about him taking lead on a strategy or 'ordering them around'. After all, he was no child of Athena or son of Zeus. "Anybody else got an idea?"

ImageKeith tried not to be so evaluating and calculating of the new state of camp. It seemed to bustle with a few more energetic bodies than last year and definitely a few more brooding faces and vibes. He felt his heart sink in the knowledge that it'd be hard to make friends. There seemed so little room for the socially awkward and everybody else already had established their "clique".

Sometimes the camp could be exceptionally boring and dull, but that was something he simply had to endure like everyone else and hope the next day would be more rewarding. His degree of boredom would just be more though. His lips pressed in a line and he plucked out his earphones and shuffled through his phone for a tune that could ignite his soul. Keith smiled slightly when he found it. Some would argue it was a little too swaggerish for him but part of him really liked it and had a guilty pleasure listening to JT.

The son of Hecate traveled through camp territory for another year of learning and fighting evil, having to suppress the urge to walk in rhythmic bounces and pull some Michael Jackson move. He made his way to hall, typically the central congregation point of people, new and regular. That, plus some staff waved him over to and pointed to it.

Some larger species of male had bumped him. "Daniel," they said casually, but he was bowing to the ground to retrieve his glasses that were knocked down on impact. He carefully placed them back on the bridge of his nose, surprised to see the brute had actually taken to stop and staring. For a round two, he prayed not.
Keith slowly rose and for some time it seemed they just stared at each other. "I'm sorry," Keith said finally and spun on his heel to take an extended detour. It wasn't worth getting his teeth knocked out and he didn't want to cause any trouble. Keith had spent some time in the gym on his holidays and become a bit more solid in build, but it was nothing that girls would second look or enough to engage in a fist-fight confidently. The hall would still be there too. He wasn't missing anything.

When he slid into the hall an announcement was happening, and he shrunk into the wall then nestled into a corner and slowly pulled out his earplugs. An extreme mandatory capture the flag...what could go wrong. Inside, Keith wanted to die there and then or dissolve into a puddle. It was like high school P.E class and the untalented still had to participate even when no one really wanted them on the team, and they didn't really want to participate, and the teachers were the only ones that thought it was a good idea in the entire universe. He sighed out and was the first to exit the hall and make his way to blue base.

Duke started rattling off a plan, and while he was smart and confident and that was semi-contagious when it came to his plan, Keith was super insecure about being the last line of defense by guarding the base especially by his lonesome. That was enough pressure for him to develop a twitch and have a nervous breakdown. But externally, there was no more displayed than light levels of anxiety.

“Have you tried it?” Wes chuckled. He parted his lips to answer, but she continued on before he could answer. “Fine, fine. I get it. The power of passion is dangerous.” He followed closely behind Trinity as she made her way toward the hall. “How would the primitive daughter to the god of war possibly be able to cope with lust?”

Wes shook his head, entering the hall behind her. "I didn't say that," he corrected her as grabbed himself a bagel and some bacon. With his plate in had, he moved beside her as she prepared her cereal. "I don't want to alter your emotions... What if I couldn't undo it?" Wes didn't like the thought of manipulating her emotions in any way. What if he accidentally made her devoted to himself? Even if he had her love, it wouldn't true or honest. He thought meddling in someone's emotions is an invasion of privacy and freedom. He only resorts to it in times of need.

“But you can point love and desire in a direction?” Wes nodded is head in acknowledgement. “That's how you made the giant chase those stonemen last year. So what if you...” Then Trinity trailed off when she looked to where his right arm used to exist. She sighed and pressed her tongue to her cheek.

Wes sighed. It was one time he wished he had his other arm because he wanted to wrap it around Trinity. But a nudge to her shoulder would have to do. "Hey... It doesn't bother me, what happened," he said wiggling his right shoulder barren an arm. "You can talk about it. I won't spontaneously combust." He followed her toward Andy's table, but continued on with his conversation. "And yes, I did use it for the giant. But that's because it was going after Andy," he said motioning his plate toward the brunette as he sat down at her table beside Trin. "Battle is different than messing with someone's free will for no reason."

Image

Once breakfast was over, the teams started to gather up. Wes was on Trinity's team and honestly, he had no idea if that was a good thing or not. After all it was just a training exercise, but Trin had power and ability. She didn't need to be worried about him and what others might do to him... Although, he knew better than that. So, instead of trying to give his opinion, he simply stood by and listened to Duke's plan of action. Seemed like sound logic to him.

"Looks like I won't be your burden today Blondie. You're on offense... And I'm... Whatever the middle is." He chuckled, nudging her slightly. That's alright. Wes would probably be one of the first people knocked out anyways.

When Duke mentioned Daniel... Or Keith, Wes just founded himself staring at him like an idiot. He leaned his head down next to Trinity's and whispered in her ear. "Uhhh... When did this happen? Does Andy know?" He sighed, scratching his head. He guessed they'd figure out eventually. Instead of speaking up or anything else, Wes just decided to hang back and do whatever everyone else told him to do. In the end he was a liability. An Aphrodite kid with one arm and no ability to fight wasn't worth much in battle.

"Thank you! Finally someone gets it! I know I'm pretty but I haven't been spending my time doing my hair and flossing my teeth and solely thinking of ways to kill them." Mason threw up his hands. It was apparent that he appreciated the fact that Sylas saw things on a similar level to him. It made him chuckle. Well he was definitely glad to see that they were on the same page when it came to plan of approach. Sylas could be helpful with the whole stab, stab too. But, where he really flourished was with manipulation.

"I wouldn't mind dying to make a point. Providing old Pops brings me back."

Sylas leaned forward slightly, scratching his chin with his thumb. "If you could guarantee you'd be brought back... That's not a terrible idea." The ideas start churning in his head. He made sure to lower his voice, leaning forward slightly more to be extra certain. "What if... A Valis killed you?" After a moment he looked up. "What if... Ajax killed you? Andy and Trinity's allegiance would be yours, without question. Especially if you came back. Ms. Bolton wouldn't forgive Ajax. Having a witch on your side? That's a strong ally to have."

A staff member gained their attention enough to talk about an extreme capture the flag game. Full on hand to hand contact and combat. This definitely intrigued Sylas, and no doubt it intrigued Mason as well. It was almost like he could see the wheels turning in the Hades child's mind. "Is the boy next door facade still staying on in the heat of competition?"

Sylas smirked. "I guess you'll find out if we come face to face... Now won't we?"

Image

Sylas joined his team, indifferent about many of the people on it. Of course, Ajax would be good to start working his magic on currently. Trinity and Duke could be good to start turning against the Valises, per Mason's wishes. Most of the rest of them seemed fairly useless. Other than this... Keith. He was getting a lot of weird looks from seasoned campers which peaked his interest. And apparently a son of Hecate. Interesting? Maybe Andy wasn't the player they needed after all. But Andy's emotional ties to Mason would be far more useful than some no body.

He stood by patiently listening through Duke's game plan. Sylas saw issues with it, in multiple areas. But, he wasn't going to argue. He didn't particularly care if he was on the winning team. As long as he kicked ass, that's all that mattered to him. But when he heard that Duke intended him to... To flank? And be defensive and go for the flag, Sylas stiffened at the thought. He waited patiently until Duke's whole pep talk was done.

Then Sylas cleared his throat and raised his hand. "I just wanted to add... I have extensive knowledge and training in combat, in particular fencing and martial arts. I feel sending me after the flag and staying fairly hidden or defensive would not benefit the team... Also considering that I can induce violence and chaos, turning the other team against themselves. I believe I belong on the front lines with you, Trinity and Ajax." Honestly, if he were told otherwise, he probably wouldn't listen when the time came. But, he's more useful in the middle of everything. He's more useful to Mason and himself close to Ajax.

Andy perked up where she sat seeing Trinity and Wes come to join her. She smiled toward them through her bite of the banana. Trin took the seat across from her. “Hey,” she said as she made room for Wes beside her. “Where's company?” Then she nodded her head to the empty seat beside Andy like there should be someone there who isn't.

Andy rolled her eyes, then took a bite of her cereal. "You know, it's not like we're attached at the hip." She took an aggressive bite of her banana. As she chewed her sarcastic facade seemed to vanish slowly until she was almost frowning. "It's complicated," Andy finally said, looking between Trin and Wes. "I'll tell you about it after training." She then looked down at her bowl of cereal, stirring her food around with her spoon but didn't know what else to say.

Luckily, before she had to try to find something to say to change the atmosphere of the table, one of the staff members proceeded to announce the training event. Intense capture the flag, that started immediately. She couldn't help but laugh when she heard the teams, shaking her head slightly. "Looks like I'll be seeing you all on the battle field." Of course, Andy would have preferred being on Trinity's team. They could have kicked major ass together... But, something about the idea of going against her was almost as enticing.

"Yeah, she's stuck with me. Hell of a trade," Wes joked looking between the two girls.

Andy pushed off the table and moved to her feet. With a snap of her fingers, her casual clothes quickly changed to her battle attire with armor and a bandana around her head of her team's color. She smirked at her friends. "Oh, shoot... You guys don't have armor," she said pursing her lips with a mocking smile. "That sucks." She grabbed up her trash from breakfast and then patted her free hand on the table. "Good luck guys. I hope, for your sakes, I don't come across you all on the battlefield." With that, she gave them a wink then went to find her team.

On her way to her team, Andy stopped behind Mason as he stood to leave his table and grabbed his shoulders. "Sorry to interrupt gentleman. Sylas, do you mind if I steal my teammate? We have scheming to do." She grinned mischievously, tapping her fingers along his shoulders.

"By all means," Sylas smiled, motioning toward them. "Maybe with the two of you working together, I'll finally get a fair fight."

Andy laughed. "Cocky. I like him," she said to Mason. "Sounds like Mr. Astor hasn't seen us in action. But that's alright, there's always a good view on your back." She gave Mason a pat on his shoulders and as she did so his casual clothes changed into battle gear. Was that technically fair to give herself and her teammates armor? Maybe not. But, they did say she could use her powers... So. Armor for her teammates it is.

Without any further objections, Andy grabbed Mason's arm and pulled him along with her. She knew this was going to be an interesting development with Alex on their team. But she made the decision that if they went at capture the flag as a pair, they could really do some damage. In and out in a jiffy. "So here's my thought. Since I have magic... What if I distract them but running straight into the heat of things, while you flank from the shadows and snatch up their colors? Unless you have a better plan of attack."

Sloane saw the camp staff member making his way toward the hall and something inside her told her that she needed to be there. She quickly shoved her journal back into her bag and climbed down the tree. She made her way into the hall just in time to hear what the staff member had to say about the capture the flag game. She couldn't help the sinking feeling she felt in her gut at the thought. Sloane was by no means a fighter and would most definitely be knocked out rather quickly.

Her gaze drifted over to Dom's when she heard his name and then her own. Both on the Spartan team. She didn't quite know if she was worried or relieved that she wasn't on her brother's team. But, she'd take the opportunity to get some separation where she could get it. Sloane swerved through the campers until she reached Dom. She gave him a shy smile. "It uh... Looks like we're on the same team." She sighed, rocking back and forth on her heels. "I apologize in advanced. I couldn't protect myself if I tried... And I'm not particularly dressed for combat," she added looking down at her attire.

It seemed just as she said that, Andy walked past her. Without a word from the veteran camp member, Andy simply tapped Sloane's shoulder. The change rushed over her like a wave of warmth. When she looked back down, she saw herself in more combat appropriate attire, including team colors and all. Sloane glanced over her shoulder to thank Andy, giving her a weak smile in appreciation. She then looked back toward Dom, giving a weak smile. "Ok, well... I'll still get knocked out just as easily no matter how I'm dressed."

Just as Theo had turned his flirting with Gwen all the way up, one of the camp directors came through the door and explained how the game of capture the flag would work. He rolled his eyes as Gwen was not among his teammates. As the director finished, Theo's mind immediately started spinning with ideas as he grabbed a map from a table nearby . His eyes widened as he saw which side of camp his squad had. He cracked a slight smile. They had the water at their back over by the Poseidon cabins. As his mind surveyed the landmarks of the camp he had completely memorized, he knew there was a certain rock formation on the shore that a person could hide in. His idea involved hiding the flag in the rock crevice.

He looked around at his group. Surely the newer campers would look to the veterans to formulate a game plan considering their more extensive knowledge of camp and their experience in battle. That left it up to Theo, Mason, Andy, and Alex. Theo decided it would be good time for him to step up. Mason was definitely not the type to tell everyone what to do. Andy would probably go along with anything as long as her talents were properly utilized. Alex was a Zeus child, but Theo knew she trusted him. Theo liked the opportunity to step up, and he didn't doubt that Alex would allow it. She might do her own thing out there regardless of the plan, but Theo knew for sure she could handle herself.

With that Theo stepped into the middle of the awkward circle they had formed as they got out of ear shot of the other team. "Okay, so here is what I am thinking. We have the shore on our side. Finley, you know that rock formation out by the cabin with the crevice surrounded by the taller rocks? I think we could hide the flag there. You could pull the tide out the the formation to make it even more complicated to search around there. After the flag is hidden, we need attackers and defenders. Dominick, I think you should stay back and help Finley defend the flag for sure. You could even hard freeze the water in the crevice with the flag in the very middle of the ice. That would buy us some time even if they manage to get to the flag because they would have to get it out of the ice.

Ji-Hyun, Sloane, Atticus, Adrianna, Kalani, and Nik... you guys should stay back on this side to defend. My best idea would be for you guys to pair off. This way if anyone gets in a sticky situation they always have someone to help them out. The longer we keep as many people in the game as we can, the better off we are. Two more of you should probably stay close by the flag with Dom and Fin, but the others pairs should post up somewhere else on their natural path to the flag. Think of an alert system and communicate with each other back here. As the game closes in on the flag you guys can work your way back. Right now try to defend the territory as a whole and knock a few people out. I can almost guarantee you Ajax, Duke, and Trinity are coming this way. Be ready. I'm not sure who else will be attacking though.

Andy, Alex, McKenna, Harleen, Elias, Mason, Lise, and myself would probably be best as attackers. I think we should probably go in pairs too. Think about who could complement you well. Elias I think I'd like to pair with you. I can go from high place to high place covering your back as you control things in close range on the ground. We should all spread out and canvas the area, looking for the flag, and trying to knock out their defenders. We need a signal too in case someone finds the flag or gets in trouble. Harleen, do your thing. Make their heads spin and if you have a run at the flag then get some cover and go for it. Lise and Mason... the two of you are probably the sneakiest of all of us. Try to pair up with someone aggressive who can cover you. When we find the flag, we need to go all in after the thing while the two of you try to slip in and slip away with the flag. Everyone else, let's put on a show. I think we have the better team here. Be patient. If we can knock several of their players out early, we will be in great shape. Be cautious with who you get into a fight with though. We need everyone out there as long as possible. Have fun. Stay focused. Be smart. Play to your strengths. If you can manipulate their minds, use that. If you can fight it our or shoot it out like me, use those things too. Remember, snatching their band might be easier than winning a fight. I think we can really win this thing. Anyone got any ideas for signals or anything else?"

Theo took a deep breath and looked around at his comrades for the day, satisfied with his plan, trying to judge if everyone else was too. He kept a positive tone, and he tried to make sure he didn't sound like a dictator.

A worried look crossed his face, defend. He could do that. Probably. He had been practicing his light manipulation, so he could probably create bright flashes. But other than that, he wasn't going to be much use. He didn't really take to the battle aspect of being a demigod, he primarily focused on the healing and support aspect. His kaleidoscope irises looked over to the people who were assigned the "defensive" position. Noticing he could stay close to Finley and Dominick, he jumped up to the position with an eager. "I could help Dominick and Finn, I can help heal wounds if they need, or blind enemies if they need that advantage....but if you need me to help follow the others and keep their wounds clear I can help." the boy spoke, choosing his words carefully. He made it clear he'd rather stay behind and help around the flag. But he wouldn't be opposed to become mobile. He had a range limit when it came to healing, but he'd try his best. Running a hand through his hair nervously, he would grip the hilt of the spatha he had, even though short-range wasn't his skill. He had thought he would be more of use in defense with the spatha, rather than a bow. He would look at Finn, and remember he tried speaking to him earlier.
