Personality
Sebastian is the silent type. He doesn't talk just to fill silence, he's perfectly fine letting the silence drag on. When he talks, he's got something to say, though it may not always be terribly eloquent. He sometimes has trouble interacting with others because he doesn't pick up on social queues as easily as most, and he can never seem to say the right thing in a situation. Because of this, he can be shy and reluctant to enter into conversation. He almost never lies, not because of morality, but because he doesn't understand the point of stating an untrue fact. He has a habit of being blunt and stating the obvious, which irritates people. Some see him as humorless because he often doesn't get jokes or see through sarcasm, but once he's aware that a joke has been made, he thinks back and sees the comedy in it.
He isn't particularly kind, but he isn't unkind, either. He wouldn't go out of his way to help someone, but if he asked for help he would do his best to provide it. He tries to avoid altercations whenever possible, and usually backs down before something becomes an issue. He's not really a coward, he just believes that sometimes compromising or doing nothing is the best course of action. He prefers to analyze a problem and try to come up with several different solutions instead of trying to rush headfirst into the problem. He has absolutely zero interest in being a hero, so he is fine with letting others do the heroic parts or take the credit for something he did. He believes that there is a use for everything, so he is reluctant to throw things out, and has become quite a hoarder.

Abilities
Sebastian can manipulate fire, and by extension, mold melted metal using his mind and his fingers as a guide. He can only manipulate fires that have already been started, he cannot create fire. The weapons and armor he creates tend to be more powerful than ones created by mortals or most other demigods. He can give sentience to some of his creations, though he doesn't have much practice actually doing it.

Sebastian's mother, Sofia Owens became pregnant with him when she was seventeen. Because she refused to give him up for adoption, her parents kicked her out. She had to drop out of high school and get a job to support herself and her baby. She moved in with her boyfriend, Nick Manning, who assumed he was the father, but the man overdosed on painkillers when Sebastian was only a year old. Sofia waitressed at two different restaurants just to make enough money live, so Sebastian was essentially raised by their elderly neighbors. He only had one friend growing up, he was too quiet and the other kids thought he was weird. Charlotte Waverly monopolized their conversations, convinced him to do things no one else could without making him uncomfortable, and accepted him for all the weird things he said and did. They started dating when they were thirteen, and she was pregnant by fifteen. Sebastian wanted to keep to baby and raise it together, but she admitted it wasn't his. Devastated, he did the only thing that ever cheered him up- he created metal works of art. He wasn't sure how he could do it, but somehow he had a magic that allowed him to manipulate fire and metal. He used this ability and love to make things himself to get a job at a homemade furniture store. He helped make the wood furniture, and the owner sold some of his metal sculptures as decorations. He eventually moved passed Charlotte and dated a few other girls, though the relationships were short lived since his experience turned him into a jealous stalker who didn't trust the girls to remain faithful.
It was around the time he got the job that Hephaestus appeared to his son. He had caught wind of the metal sculptures and was impressed. He taught Sebastian how to forge weapons and armor, how better to control fire, how to give his creations sentience, and even how to work on cars and motorcycles, and soon he started a side business of refurbishing old bikes. The god was very busy, however, and tried to convince him to go to Camp Athens to further his knowledge. Sebastian refused, uninterested a tool for the gods. He would take the information he had been given and expand upon it himself. Hephaestus disappeared from his life once again, and he couldn't care less. He had never been there for him, and saw the god more as a brief mentor than a father. Years passed, and he became better and better at what he did, and he started saving up to buy his own store. Before he could even save up a percentage, the store he worked at went under and closed down, leaving him out of a job. Despite his talent, no one seemed to wanted to hire him. They all gave vague reasons why they wouldn't hire him. When he saw a letter from his 'father' sitting on the kitchen counter one day, comprised entirely of details about Camp Athens, Sebastian got the picture. He would be unable to do anything in the mortal world until he did as his father bade. With no choice, he left for the camp.
