Relationship History
Katherine has hooked up with guys... but in her world, that term extends no farther than making out with them. She has never been in a real relationship either, and it's not because no one has ever expressed interest in her. No, she's had suitors before... it's just that she has always been very insecure of herself, and never pursued anyone who happened to be interested in her.

Physical AppearanceImage

Skin Tone
White

Height
5'10

Weight
120 lbs
Katherine is medically considered to be underweight for her height. She is very thin, although she doesn't see herself that way, and has a body weight that most girls envy. She is, however, self-conscious over the fact that she doesn't feel curvy enough in certain areas, specifically her chest.

Hair
She has naturally brown hair that falls somewhere near her chest.

Eyes
She has brown eyes and does need glasses, but usually wears contacts when she isn't at home.

Distinguishing Marks
N/A

Physical Disabilities
N/A

Tattoos and Piercings
Her ears are pierced 2x each.

Fashion Sense
Her fashion sense is pretty diverse, especially when counting photo shoots that she's done. She's walked down the runway in sheer tops where her breasts are completely visible, she's had her hair temporarily dyed pink, she's worn the most elegant of gowns, down to the sexiest of lingerie. It all depends where she's going, and who she wants to impress.

Good Personality Traits
Exuberant, Passionate, Fun-Loving

Bad Personality Traits
Shallow, Emotional, Dramatic, Catty

Personality
Katherine's most positive characteristic is probably her exuberance. She is bubbly, fun and lively and always seems to be bursting with energy. It allows her to be a fun person to be around at parties, or simply just hanging out and watching a movie. She's talkative, passionate and emotional. Katherine has never had to prioritize hard work - either employment-wise or in school - since she has always had her money and family name to fall back on, so she tends to focus that energy on her social life. Although she does well to maintain an image of being a cheerful party girl, she really doesn't enjoy going to many of the events that she frequents. Nights out with her girlfriends are always fun and she does like dressing up (or at least shopping for clothes to wear to the events), but being surrounded by a bunch of people that she doesn't care to know isn't enticing to her. She really has no desire to meet new people or make new friends since she's content with her social standing as it is. Like most girls at Crossroads, Katherine belongs to a clique and very rarely strays away from it. She isn't naturally mean-spirited or malicious, but she isn't innocent of judging people and participating in nasty gossip either. In some respects, she may be viewed as a follower but in reality, it's more of naivete. She's very trusting when it comes to things that her close friends say, so if she's told that a classmate is a bitch, she'll outcast that person without considering that the information may be false. A lot of the time, things just don't "click" for her. She lacks a filter and will often say things that are offensive without realizing that they actually are.

Drama and gossip are fun when she's not the target of it, but when it comes back to bite her, Katherine proves to be much more self-conscious and sensitive than she acts. She over thinks most things and is the type of person who will lay in bed for hours thinking about things or call her friends at three in the morning sobbing. She's not only emotionally needy, but materialistically as well. She tends to be very shallow when it comes to judging people and determining their worth and the first standard would be money. It's a narrow-minded and arrogant way of thinking, but she would never even consider dating a guy who wasn't of equal status of her. Katherine can be careless and selfish, high maintenance and dramatic, but most teenage girls are, right?

Nevertheless, she is unfortunately unique from most people in terms of having an eating disorder. It's something that she has struggled with for years and luckily, during the summer before her junior year, she was forced into treatment and really got a grasp on it. Since then, she's grown to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It's something that she thinks that she'll always have to live with, and there are definitely days where she falls back into those urges, but for the most part, she thinks that she's got a grasp on the illness. It's not something that affects her daily life at the moment, so her doctors consider her to be in "remission".

Mental or Behavioral Disabilities
She is in remission from an eating disorder, and was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age. She's not being treated for either at the moment, as neither of them are as bad as they were in the past, but it's apparent that she struggles to focus during school. It's just something she's used to at this point.

Upbringing
Katherine is the only child of Bernard Arnault and Adeline Leonard. Her parents were married for twelve years, and faithful to each other for only one of them. Well, at least that applies to her mother, though as time passed, her father became no better. The two of them really did love each other when they were dating, but they moved too fast, and after getting married, Adeline began to realize that Bernard could not be the doting husband that she wanted him to be. He was the CEO of LMVH, a French multinational luxury goods conglomerate which owns many major labels in areas such as wines and spirits, watches and jewelry, perfumes and cosmetics, fashion and leather goods and specialist retailing. Céline, Dior, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Bulgari, Sephora, Belvedere and Hennessy are just a few of the many brands that his company owns. To put it simply, Bernard is an extremely successful businessman who has created a vast fortune for his family, but it came at a price, and that price was that he was often overwhelming busy for work. He would be in France for sometimes a month at a time, and Adeline just wasn't prepared to settle down with being a housewife to a nearly non-existent lover. It wasn't like she was an actual housewife, in terms of the stereotypical "taking care of the family at home" thing. She had a full-time nanny on hand to raise Juliet, and a slew of housekeepers and chefs to keep their household functioning. She was really just an all-grown-up heiress who spent her days throwing charity events and cocktail parties, and secretly seeking new potential husbands, while her actual one was away.

The turmoil in her parents' relationship should have been obvious, even for a girl who was, and still, fits the label of "oblivious" most of the time, but Katherine still vows that she never saw the divorce coming. She was only ten years old at the time, and finding out that her father had an affair was absolutely shocking to her, especially since she was in the dark about her mother's various affairs over the years. What didn't help was her mother being in her ear, spinning the situation to seem as if Bernard had been the only unfaithful parent, and that he ruined a perfect family. Sadly, Katherine's mother wasn't above that level, and for the next few years, she drilled it into Katherine's head that her father wasn't a true father or husband, and that he had taken some home wrecking-whore and her child as family, while kicking Adeline and her to the curb. This, of course, was not the case, and you'd know it if you looked at the incredible check that Bernard wrote to keep Adeline from spreading news of the affair to anyone other than their daughter. What also wasn't true, was Adeline's insistence that Bernard didn't want anything to do with her. He had tried to get at least partial custody, but Adeline refused, seeing her daughter as the last piece of leverage over the man who had the audacity to cheat on her (regardless of her doing the same for years).

Katherine spent after four years with little contact with her father, and then, in an unsurprising twist, her mother moved on. Not only from Bernard, since it was clear to a lot of people that she moved on while they were still married, but from Katherine too. She didn't ditch her daughter on the side of the road or anything, but in an emotional sense, she kind of did. She began dating a man who was nearly half her age, and she didn't want a bratty teenager, especially one facing mental health issues, dragging her down. Now that Katherine was no longer a pawn she could use against Bernard, she wanted to get rid of her. Make her Bernard's problem, in a sense, and so she insisted that Katherine move to California with her father. Kat didn't want to go, because for one, she loved Manhattan, and two, she despised her step-family despite barely knowing them, but her mother insisted, and off she went. Four years in, and the only good thing she thinks that truly came out of her moving to California was her modelling career taking off, which is something she knows she owes credit to her father for.

Childhood Idol/Hero
She had a Minnie Mouse obsession as a kid and loved Lizzie McGuire.

Dream Job
A housewife, but a Beverly Hills version of a housewife where the only real responsibilities you have are going shopping with your fellow housewives, attending yoga sessions every morning, and maybe picking your kid up from school if it coincides with you spa schedule.

Hobbies
Shopping: As cliché as it is for a rich teenage girl to list shopping as a hobby, Katherine really lives up to this. She's the type of girl who can easily spend hours in a single department of a store, or spend ten minutes in one but leave with thousands of dollars worth of items. Although her family can afford her crazy spending habits, it is definitely getting a bit out of control.
Yoga: Unlike her exercise with the sole purpose of losing weight, Katherine uses yoga to help clear her mind. It's a fairly new hobby but one that she is really beginning to enjoy and benefit from.

Musical Instruments
She took piano lessons at a kid but can only play it at a beginner's level.

Sports
She used to participate in horseback riding, and took tennis lessons for a few years, but doesn't play any sports currently.

Other Drugs
She tried cocaine one time at a fashion show after party and tampers with weight loss drugs regularly.

Today was the first official day back on Crossroads Academy's campus, and there was an undeniable air of excitement and jitters on campus. Throughout the morning, cars had driven up the long driveway that led onto the campus, packed to the brink with parents, children, and suitcases filled with everything a teenager could need, only to be drive right back down it a little while later, empty, and usually with teary-eyed parents. It was nothing less than a tradition, and though many felt it was sad to see their parents go, most students did genuinely like Crossroads Academy. The fact that it was located right on the beautiful California coast played a part in it, and it possessing facilities nice enough to rival top colleges was a perk too, but the relationships made while at a boarding school were different than at many normal high schools. They were stronger, or that's what many of Crossroads' students would tell you, anyway.

Like the other dorm advisers on campus, Holly and Brian had spent their mornings acquainting themselves to parents and helping students move into their rooms. They had moved on campus a few days before, and though this meant that their summers were over too, they were both glad that the school year was starting. While Holly had worked as a dorm adviser for four years, and had acted as a dorm adviser for the girls she would be living with this year since they were freshman, Brian was new to this. He had been a faculty member for Crossroads for a year before, but this was the first year that he was going to be a dorm adviser. Life circumstances combined with knowing that his paycheck would look even better if he was a dorm adviser had led him to accepting the additional position, and though he was excited, he was understandably nervous as well. He knew that this position would require him to take on an extra level of responsibility and respect for rules and guidelines, but he also knew that he had to be understanding enough to get a bunch of teenage boys to like him... or at least trust him. It was going to be an interesting experience, that much he was sure of, but he didn't have much time to worry during the morning, as he really had been busy helping kids move in. He was grateful that he had been assigned a senior dorm, only because that meant that there were slightly less parents involved. Senior students were allowed to have cars on campus, and that meant that in some cases, for those who had cars, they were driving themselves onto campus and there were a few less introductions that Brian was forced through. In the girls dorm, Holly was experiencing a similar thing, but by now she knew most of her girls' parents, and for her, introductions were welcomed anyway. She was friendly and bubbly, and far too used to this to be bothered by the first-day events.

While Brian helped some students in 3C of Chase move into their dorm, Holly was on the second floor of Wright Hall. Most of the dormitory room doors were open, with girls coming in and out as they either helped each other move into their rooms, moved into their own rooms, or were in and out socializing. She skimmed the sheet of paper in her hand that listed which room each girl was in, and once she found the name that she had starred, she headed towards dormitory room 2B. The girl's dorm had one new student this year, and Holly thought that it was best that she introduce herself and make sure that the new student, Emma, was getting settled in all right. The door to get into the dormitory was open, so Holly gently pushed it open and entered the common space of the four bedroom dorm. "Girls, is Emma here yet?" Holly called out, unsure if Emma was there herself, or if the other girls rooming there, London, Dytto or Farrah would be there. She knew the other three girls from acting as an adviser to them for the past three years, so introductions there were unnecessary, though she was glad to be back with them as well.

LONDON WELLINGTON
Image Image

London thrived at school, so coming back after summer was never something that she dreaded. Her Instagram feed made it look like she had the perfect summer, and it definitely was a good one (who could complain about bouncing from New York, to Paris, to Barcelona for most of it?) but it wasn't as perfect as it probably appeared. London's family life was a unique one, mostly because her parents had always been fairly detached. They weren't unloving or anything, but they were devoted to the international company they ran, and had seemed to think that London was mentally an adult since she was eleven or twelve, and that they didn't need to be very involved in her upbringing. Over the summer, she had seen her mother twice, and her father only through Skype, and to them, it was nothing but normal. They weren't parents who thought that it was necessary to push aside business meetings to fly out to California to help her move in. Instead, they had a car service drive her belongings to the school while she drove her Range Rover there separately. She didn't need their physical help moving in because she had friends and followers for that, but still, even a girl who could be labeled as heartless as London sometimes was craved an actual relationship with her parents on days like this. Is was hard not to when you had to watch almost every other kid in the building get tearful farewell hugs from their mom and dad. Suppressing her feelings was something that she was good at though, so she did well at acting unfazed by it all, and focusing on how amazing this senior year was going to be. Her dorm placement wasn't ideal in terms of roommates, but she had gotten the bedroom location that she wanted, so that was a plus. Besides, her roommates weren't... horrible. She had Dytto Devereux, Farrah Hart, and Emma Buxton as roommates. London had been the first of the four to arrive, and had been completely moved in by nine-thirty. Rather than sitting around all morning and having to deal with being introduced to the other three girls' parents, if they were coming to drop them off, she left the suite and headed to the junior girls' dorm, where she had a few minion-type girls that she wanted to catch up with.

Katherine was running late (as usual), and in the midst of hanging out with her younger friends, she hadn't had a moment to check in with Esper to see if she was on campus, until around eleven o'clock, when she headed back to Wright. She sent out two text messages on her walk back: one to Esper, reading, "Hey girly are you on campus yet?!" and another to Katherine, reading, "You told me you were going to be here an hour ago, Kitty! Location update needed ASAP!" With the knowledge that Katherine was supposed to share a dormitory room with Esperanza, London had a feeling that it would be best for her to hang around the two girls while they moved in... just in case. She trusted her girls with being civil, but she was still very aware of the fact that her two best friends didn't seem to like each other as much as she liked them. It was unfortunate, but because they both seemed to suck it up when London was around, she rarely had to concern herself with it very much. She was planning on heading straight to their dorm room, but as she passed by her own, she noticed that the front door was cracked open, which meant that some of the other girls had to have moved in by now. She was still tempted to keep walking, but as Queen Bee, it felt necessary to greet the girls she was going to be living with, if for no other reason than to remind them that she was still at the top this year. Especially considering the current dilemma she was facing with Dytto, and not knowing who Emma Buxton was, she headed into her dorm room and smiled when she saw Holly in front room. The senior girls had been blessed getting Holly again as their adviser, because she really acted more like an older sister to them than anything else. It was easy to get away with anything with Holly, even though most girls didn't actually like to abuse that, just because she was so cool. She had walked in a few seconds too late to hear Holly's question about Emma, so she greeted her normally with a, "Hey, Holly. Oooh, aren't you looking all tan and summery!? Did you stay in Cali all summer?"

"Oh, hey, London," Holly chirped, caught off guard for a moment at a voice coming from behind. She spun around halfway to greet the blonde with a genuine smile. A chuckle escaped at the girl's compliment. She had been trying to get a base tan this summer, but unfortunately, she was the type of person who burned more than they did tan. The compliment was appreciated nonetheless, though. "I tried, I tried," she admitted, before nodding. "Yep, I've been around all summer. I'm sure you went on some wild adventures? Probably more exciting than mine," she continued. While there were a fair amount of scholarship students at Crossroads who came from middle or lower class families, a lot of the students were from very wealthy ones, and many of them had passports that were ten times more full than her own, despite her being double their age. "I want to hear all about it, but is your roommate Emma here? She's a new student this year and I want to make sure that she's getting settled in."

"I'm not actually sure," London admitted with a careless shrug. "I was the only one who was here a few hours ago, and I haven't been back since now, so I don't know who actually is here yet either." If Holly had not been there, she probably would have went into her bedroom at that and waited for the other girls to actually come out of their bedrooms to greet them, because she definitely wasn't that friendly innately, but with Holly standing there, she felt the need to seem a little bit more friendly. She chose bedroom B as the door to knock on, knowing that it was the only coveted bedroom aside form hers, given the views that those two offered. She wouldn't have been surprised if it was Farrah who opened the door, because she was an A-lister as well, and therefore, deserved the nicer room, but if it was Dytto or the new girl, she was going to be a little bit surprised at the nerve they had to claim the nice room. She had taken the nicest one, of course, so it didn't directly affect her, but it would still be a good reflection of just who she was dealing with this year.

Theme Song ღ Bedroom: X, X, X ღ Mood: Disinterested ღ Outfit ღ Location: Wright Hall, Second Floor

"All I'm saying, sweetie, is that you could've waited for Bernard," Amelia Arnault exclaimed, frustrated, as she spread the furry duvet at the foot of her daughter's bed. The teen in question, with her back facing her mother as she set up various photos and trinkets on the shelves of her armory, rolled her eyes. "And I'm just saying that if I actually waited for Bernard, I would be waiting for Katherine and she might not have made it to the school if I did that." Was her retort, spoken calmly enough to not seem fazed by her step-sister's attitude from earlier, but with enough contempt laced in her voice that her own frustration was noted. Not that that did her anything. Dytto didn't have to turn around to note the disapproving stare her mother shot her; she could feel it digging into the back of her head.

In Dytto's head, and possibly in her mother's though the older woman was noted for trying to be understanding towards her step-daughter - and trying was the operative word when thinking about the spoiled little brat known as Katherine Arnault - she was not at fault here. Unlike Katherine, she had jumped up immediately when the housing selection began and chose her room - in fact, she had chosen her room before even London had. Which was the main reason why Katherine was upset. London had chosen a room in their dorm suite and because Katherine simply expected she was going to get the room that she wanted, she ended up choosing too late and the other two rooms had been taken. Upon that discovery, she had "anticipated" Dytto's acquiescence; obviously, the dancer was supposed to give up the space she had picked simply because Katherine demanded so. She must have forgotten who her step-sister was. A yelling match followed by Dytto's mother having to physically get in between the two, and Dytto had stormed off earlier that morning in her garnet Porsche Cayenne with Amelia following with a much larger truck to assist in moving Dytto into her dorm. She even decided to look extra cute, simply because she knew Katherine would have shit to say and she wanted to feel powerful. And nothing helped like a pair of stilettos that she was obviously gonna trade for a pair of high tops once classes started.

Luckily for her, since she honestly did not feel like pretending to ignore Farrah or even attempting to be nice to the new girl she heard was going to be moving in with them, no one had been present in the suite, so Dytto hurried to set up her bedroom. With the assistance of a few artists and cheerleaders, no doubt. She had picked up Starbucks for those who helped and it was only a few minutes ago that the others departed, each with their own drinks and Dytto in her mature taupe-grey themed bedroom that Kylie Jenner totally stole from her when she first said that that was her bedroom theme for the school year on social media. But of course, nobody was going to talk about that. "Deanna..." Her mom's pause was enough to make Dytto turn around, arms folded over her chest. Her long chestnut mane fell down her back in a sleek waterfall, one of her many snapbacks on top of her head. "I really wish you'd try a little harder to be patient. It's just a room." Dytto rolled her lightly-lined baby blues for the umpteenth time today and picked up her Venti Very Berry Hibiscus to take a long draw of the fruity beverage. "Yeah, well, you're right. It's just a room, my room at that, and if the brat wants to come to blows over it, you know that I don't mind. Might do her some good." Amelia sighed, as if still disapproving. What she couldn't stop, however, was the small smirk forming on her lips as she stood and crossed the room to her daughter. "I know you don't mind." Dytto smirked in response. "And neither do you."

Distantly, she heard what she thought was Holly's voice and a younger one, but with her door closed, Dytto didn't feel the need to strain her ears to decipher whose. She honestly did not care. She had not picked her room to be friends with people; it had been out of convenience. There was a particular view she wanted; this room had it. Even if two people she liked were in the other suite. She would just go over whenever she felt like it. "I'll go check to see if the boys need any help with that TV," Amelia said after a beat, touched Dytto's shoulder briefly, and headed to the door just as there was a knock. Dytto groaned and Amelia mouthed for her to behave before opening it, smiling at the blonde standing on the other side. "Oh, London, right!? Katherine'll be here soon, I believe. There was....a small hold up." Dytto rolled her eyes at her mother's need to explain herself and watched the older woman exit, walking up to the door so that she was standing directly in its frame. And to keep London from entering her space. Nathan was helping with getting her television from the truck and a few jocks needed to help, so Dytto wouldn't be surprised if they would arrive soon enough. "Yeah, she needed some daddy-and-me time or something like that," she added disinterestedly, drinking more of her beverage before noting Holly. A much more welcome presence. "Hey, Hollz!" The RA brightened up instantly when she caught sight of the brunette and walked over, hugging Dytto when the girl actually extended an arm. It took them a few years, but eventually, Dytto got used to showing the woman affection. It helped that she was pretty cool.

"I was wondering when you would get here, Miss World of Dance host," Holly replied and Dytto smilled, her straight white teeth showing from behind her plump, currently dark red lips. "Stop, stop...you're flattering me," she exclaimed before laughing at the woman she had teased. Holly laughed as well before gesturing to London. "It seems you two picked the best rooms in the suite. Isn't that a surprise?" Holly decided to bring up, as if wanting to begin some kind of dialogue between the two girls. Which Dytto didn't really want. Why should she? She and London weren't friends and as far as she was concerned, they weren't enemies either. No need to change shit just because they were roommates for the year. "Yeah, well, what can I say? I wanted the backdrop for dance videos." She said, pulling her IPhone 6 Plus from the pocket of her high-waisted skinny jeans in order to see where her friends were.

Much to her dismay, Katherine didn't have her license, so driving herself onto campus wasn't an option. She would have preferred to have walked to school over the option that she got, which was her father driving her there. It probably seemed dramatic, but it seemed like whenever Katherine was alone with her father, he was lecturing her about something. Today, it was on how she needed to start to mature and act "respectfully", that the world did not, in fact, revolve around her, and that this was the last year she had to act like a child before she was expected to enter the real world. College was going to be an important step for her, he said, and connections she made there would predict what her professional life looked like. It was all stuff that went in one ear and out the other, for one, because she wasn't even sure that she wanted to go to college. Academics were not her strong suit and she couldn't imagine having to spend four more years of failing exams and writing papers that got D's. Secondly, she knew that he was only saying this because of the argument she had gotten into with her step-sister, Dytto, a few hours before. Regardless of what the topic of the argument was, her father always seemed to side with Dytto. Katherine attributed it to him favoring her, and in her mind, that was a fact and not an opinion. She reasoned that he felt like he could treat Kat unfairly because she was his biological daughter, but he had to fight for a spot in Dytto's life since he was just her stepfather, and therefore, she was allowed to do whatever she wanted and get away with it, while Katherine caught hell for doing absolutely nothing wrong. Yeah... that was the reality of it all, in her mind, at least.

Today's argument had been one of the many where Katherine was sure that she was completely just in acting dramatic. Months ago, when Katherine was in New York, her father had called saying the dorm selections were available. She swears that she told him to put her down for the dormitory that London was in, but he counter claims that she told him she would deal with it when she got home. Well... regardless of what story was true, she never submitted anything, and was assigned to a random room. When Katherine realized this, it was too late, and now she knew that her situation was just not livable. She had been paired up with Eloise, who was decent, but then Natalya and Esperanza, who most definitely were not. After finding out that Dytto was dorming with London, Katherine demanded that her step-sister switch with her. Dytto had rejected Katherine's demand, but for some reason, Katherine was still sure that the girl was going to abide by it when the time came, so this morning when she was side swiped with the reality that she was, in fact, going to have to live with those girls, she could not handle it. Needless to say, Katherine's dramatic and emotional personality, combined with her refusal to take no for an answer led to a complete meltdown and her swearing that she was going to kill Dytto if she didn't switch when they got to school. While her step-sister got to drive down to Crossroads on her own, Katherine was stuck being driven by her father who took the opportunity of having forty minutes alone with her to lecture her, and lecture her, and lecture her some more on how unacceptable her behavior was. After he helped her move into her room, which she barely did, considering that she was still sure she was going to be moving out before the day's end, he left her with parting words that mostly consisted of the demand to "behave".

He had business to attend to and was running late as it was, so he left before visiting Deanna's dorm again, but insisted that Katherine go over and say goodbye to Amelia. Katherine didn't care to see her stepmother, but she did have every intention of going across the hall to Deanna's room, because she needed to make that become her room. She had been in too much of a fury to notice London's text on her phone, but was pleased to find her and Holly in the main room of Deanna's dorm, even if she wasn't as pleased to see Dytto and her stepmother there too. Rather than attempting to appeal to those two, who one would imagine she would be closest with, she turned to the blonde resident adviser and rather than offering a traditional greeting, began with her reason for being in there. "Holly, thank God you're here. It's not fair. I can't live with them. It's just... inhumane! Literally cruel and unusual punishment, and I don't deserve that. You have to make her switch with me," she insisted, turning her head to glare in Deanna's direction to signal who she was talking to. "Amelia, I thought you said you were going to make her switch," she added, a distressed, and now noticeably more pleading-than aggressive look on her face as she addressed her stepmother.

"Katherine, Katherine, calm down. Like I told you earlier, it's out of my control. You know how housing works here. If you don't choose your room early enough, it's random. I didn't make up the placements, and I can't change them. We can work out whatever issue you have with those girls though, okay. Who are you living with, again? Natalya, Esperanza...?" Holly didn't want to step on the toes of Katherine's stepmother, who stood right there, but also felt like she needed to show that she could act as a good adviser in front of a paying parent.

"And Eloise, but Eloise isn't the problem. It's the other two, and it's not something I want to work out. One of them is mean to me, and the other one is going to try to give me tattoos in the middle of the night. I just need Deanna to switch with me so I can live here, okay? Please?" Please was something she rarely said, and she felt like the special occasion of saying it really warranted her deserving to get her way this time. Of course, her attempt at politeness wasn't directed at Deanna, but Holly, and almost instantly after she finished her plea, she turned to London. "You don't even know how horrible my life is going to be if I'm forced to live there," she sighed, in an attempt to justify her dramatics to the girl whose opinion mattered most to her.

"I love you too mami, but I really must go," Esperanza said coolly as she sat on a bench, holding her iPhone 5S to her ear. The Latina was desperate to get off her phone, the more she talked the more minutes would be wasted while her mother cried drunkenly in Spanish. "I'll call you every week, just like last year, bueno?" Her mother couldn't respond through her tears. Esper, jammed her finger onto the end call button. She didn't really have time for her mother's shit. Just as the girl was getting up, her phone received two text messages. One from London, the other from Dytto. Seeing Dytto's name flash across the screen made her sick. She wasn't ready to deal with what was happening yet. Esper has spent her summer trying to get over her, but failed miserably. Inhaling sharply, she replied to London first.

To: Main Bitch
Outside of Wright Hall, I've spent the past hour trying to calm my delusional mother down. Help me unpack my final things?

She nearly banged her head on the door as she walked into Wright Hall, "Oh fucking shit!" she cursed. Esper had no filter on her mouth. Luckily no one was around to make fun of her. She kicked the door closed behind her as she walked into the common area. There were a few girls in there, most of them she didn't know. "Auntie Snix has arrived on the Bitchtown Express, you besta believe it!" She flipped her burnt umber tresses behind her all diva like. Esper did not know what their reaction was because she was already making her way up the stairs. She was certain that she had the shittiest roommates ever. Natalya Volkova, Katherine Arnault, and Eloise Tailer. She hated two out of her three roommates. Natalya on the other hand, was cool in her book. Once she made her way to the second floor, she pulled her phone out to make some other texts.

To: Dytto
I'm heading to my dorm now, glad to see you missed me too.

She silently cringed at that remark, was that too flirty? Thousands of thoughts raced through her mind as she pushed open the dorm room to 2A. Her face was as white as a ghost. She opened the door to Room A and closed it suddenly. Her eyes trailed to the room that was somewhat complete. She had her dresses hanging up in the closet, some of her clothes in the drawers, and her cheerleading uniform on a hanger near the bed. On the wall was a magnificent painting of the sea which Esper liked looking at when she was stressed. On the walls were a few posters of Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Beyonce, and Britney Spears. She preferred 00's pop music to today's pop music, it was just a little better quality in her opinion. After a few deep breaths, she looked down at her phone. Who the hell freaks out over a text? It shouldn't have been her. She huffed, looking at her contacts. She needed to let Farrah know she was here, otherwise she was sure her bestie would kill her. One to her "boyfriend" Jonnie. They had to make their relationship believable after all. She also needed to send one to Natalya, since she did not see her when she entered the dorm room.

To: Farrah my Babe
You here yet? I literally have the worst roommates ever.

To: Jonnie
You better be at the barbeque. Also make sure to take a mint, your breath smells.

To: Russian Barbie
We're roomies this year with Katherine, it's literally going to be like one of those shitty reality shows.

As Dytto would discover only a few moments later was that Amelia had barely even made it out the front door of her apartment style lodging when Katherine stormed on in without even being invited. The brat didn't even acknowledge the main person who vouched for her getting the room she wanted - hello, Amelia may not be the ungrateful child's mom but she could at least acknowledge that someone cared about getting her whatever she wanted! - and immediately set to pleading her case to Holly. Dytto glanced at her mother, who was in the middle of rubbing the bridge of her nose with her eyes closed, before leaning against the frame of her door, arms folded over her chest and long legs crossed. She didn't even pretend to show any other emotion than amusement on her face when Katherine even glared at her, only smirking with a taunting flare in her gaze as she sipped more of her Starbucks. Because after all, Katherine could throw all the bitch fits in the world. Was that going to make Dytto change her mind?

Not in the slightest.

It was probably a bit ridiculous, as her own mother had told her, that Dytto would be so adamant when even she said it was just a room. The sooner she gave up the room, the sooner Katherine shut up. Plain and simple - no complications such as these necessary. However, that was a problem for Dytto. Surrendering was a thing of pride and if there was anyone she was definitely not going to submit to, it was Katherine. Hell, Dytto would give her room up for Farrah - of all people, and it's not like she actually would now, this is just speaking in hypotheticals - before she gave it up to Katherine. And that was simply out of pride. Surrendering meant that Katherine would be all smug about it later and that she would continue to think that she could get her way simply by painting on a few good tears and well-placed dry sobs. Dytto didn't have it in her to entertain that. Besides, she had received the room just as everyone else had. After all, who decides to get someone else to pick their room and then get mad about the selection? Oh, right, Katherine Arnault. Of course.

"Awww, damn. Tough break, kiddo," she exclaimed sarcastically when it felt like Katherine was done with her sob story, recently tweaked eyebrows inching together as she construed the most unsympathetic sympathetic face she could make. "Wish I could help, but I'm all unpacked and not letting anyone within an inch of my shit unless they wanna get gutted." Amelia immediately turned a glare in her daughter's direction. "Deanna!" Dytto bristled at her tone, but settled down nonetheless when her mother stepped in between the always warring step-sisters. Amelia's sharp blue eyes went from Dytto to Katherine, softening only slightly for her stepchild. We've already discussed that what's done is done, Kat. You aren't switching rooms and just because you go to a resident adviser, it does not mean that your father's mind has been changed. Or mine, for that matter," she stated with certainty, but not without turning a sharper gaze her daughter's way. "But that does not mean that you get to taunt her about this." The eye roll Dytto gave in response was her hardest all day.

Pushing Katherine's buttons probably wasn't a good idea, perhaps. But as her mother should have known, Katherine pushing her buttons was never a good idea. Not if she didn't want to go to class trying to use pounds of concealer and foundation on one of her eyes. "I'm also not entertaining this," she countered and made sure to level her gaze with Katherine's over her mother's shoulder. "This whole room switch thing? Not gonna ever happen. And you need to get over it. Maybe smoke a jay, get laid - anything to get that stick you've got shoved so far up your - "

"Assez, Deanna, ou Dieu me aider..." Amelia quickly interrupted with a hand held in the air as warning, not to hit Dytto, but to silence her. Dytto bristled, but not before averting her gaze to the front door. It was rare when Amelia spoke French to either of the girls, but they both understood it was when she was angry. Even Katherine, sometimes, acquiesced to the tone in which Amelia spoke her native language. When she could still feel her mother's gaze boring into her face, Dytto leveled the older woman with an indomitable stare, feigning indifference when she spoke, "Ne me faites pas vous faire changer de chambre juste parce que je peux." Dytto stopped herself when she realized she was tapping her foot out of anger and before her mother could issue another threat, her face went blank. "Bien sûr, maman," she replied, already pissed that she was being chastised in front of both an adviser and an irrelevant classmate. Rolling her eyes, Dytto pushed off of the door frame and briskly walked past the other women in the room, needing to get away before she was tempted to hurl her precious drink in Katherine's face. "I'll go check on my TV or whatever." She didn't wait for permission, she just left.

Amelia then turned her stare, firstly to Holly, whom she softened for and apologized to. "Sorry about that," she said and included London with a small smile. "You're just moving in, sweetheart, and we're already causing drama." When her eyes finally landed on Katherine, she hardened her gaze just a bit with resolve in her voice as she stated, "And this conversation is over, Katherine. Neither your father nor I want to hear about you bringing this situation up again. It's done." She also did not wait for a response. She simply headed back into Dytto's room to make sure all of her clothes were hung up or tucked away in a drawer, wishing to be back by her husband's side as soon as those damn kids returned with that television set.

LONDON WELLINGTON

All it took was Katherine being in the room for a mere three seconds for the situation to turn from peaceful to tense. That was Katherine for you, though. She was dramatic enough that London always teasingly insisted that she join the Drama Club, because she would certainly be promoted to club leader once everyone saw how well she could pull out those crocodile tears. What didn't help was that while some of Kat's antics did seem to be an act to get what she wanted, a lot of it seemed genuine too. London could be a bitch too, there was no denying that, but there was also no denying that her friend seemed to live in a fantasy world where everything revolved around her. London could be ruthless, but at least she was aware enough to know that she was acting that way. Katherine actually seemed to think that people had to drop everything they were doing to wait on her, and though London found it to be entertaining to an extent, she also wished that Kat would tone it down sometimes. Like now. It didn't look good for anyone for a royal to be throwing a temper tantrum in public over something as trivial as a room. London would have loved to live with Katherine, and she didn't want her friend to be miserable, but she could recognize, at least, that the situation wasn't going to change. Surprisingly, she didn't blame Dytto for not wanting to switch just because Kat requested so, and since she figured that this was a "family issue", she remained quiet as the two went at it, only to be separated by Dytto's mother before things got too out of hand. London knew a little bit of French, but not enough to follow what Amelia was saying, though the tone, and the way that both girls seemed to back down, said enough. She offered the mother a light chuckle and a toss of her hand to signal that it was no big deal, as she apologized for the drama, and waited for her to return to Dytto's room before looking at Katherine curiously. She wasn't sure how her friend was going to react to being shut down, but she also didn't have time for the negativity today.

"Quit being such a baby, Kitty," she said, giving her a playful elbow to the side in hopes that a teasing approach would break Kat out of her drama queen mode. "We're literally right across the hall from each other, so it's almost the same as living together," she insisted. "And Esper is not going to be mean to you, so stop it with that, okay? I need my girls to get along this year, and maybe you two living together will be a good thing. You'll realize that both of you are bitches, and at least you have that in common." She glanced at her phone, only to see that it was Esper herself texting her back. "Come on, we're going to go finish moving you and her in," she added after sending a response to Esper saying, "Omw". She took Katherine's hand and took a few steps towards the door before turning back to Holly to say, "Catch you later, Holl. Tell the new girl she can come to me if she needs anything at all, too." She could come to London if she needed anything at all... if she happened to be pretty and cool, and a potential candidate for London's clique. Otherwise, that wasn't true, but the RA didn't need to know that. On her way out, she noticed Farrah, and returned the smile that the Prep offered her. "Hey, Farrah," she said, before pulling Katherine into the hallway. London was being friendly, but it wasn't necessarily atypical for her. It seemed easier to keep everyone at a friendly level... until they fucked her over. And then she would destroy them. Farrah had never presented any problems to her, and she was very close with Esper, so London had no reason to be a bitch.

"I don't know how you get away with talking to your mom like that. I'm pretty sure that my mom would have murdered me by now if I said half of the things that you say." She knew that Amelia was Katherine's stepmother, but for as long as she had known Katherine, that was the woman who was always at her home and actually acting somewhat like a mother. London was in no place to talk about absent parents considering her own, but even if her relationship with her parents was a minimal one, she couldn't fathom actually disrespecting them in the way that she had witnessed Katherine do to her father and stepmother. She was serious when she thought that her mom probably would have slapped her across the face by that point, had she acted the way Kat did, and in front of other people, nonetheless. She still maintained a light tone as she spoke with Kat, because she knew that was necessary with the girl. She was... fragile, in a sense, but she also said it in an attempt at hinting to Kat that she didn't want to deal with her acting that way all day. It was their first day back, and she wanted it to be fun. Crossing the hall, she headed into Katherine's dormitory, where Esperanza was supposed to be as well. "Esper!" she called out, announcing her presence. "We're here, where are you? I've been missing my pretty Latina baby all summer!" It took peaking into one incorrect bedroom to find Esperanza in hers, and she forcibly tugged Katherine into Esper's room with her, only releasing her once they were inside so she could hug Esperanza. "You look cute," she said once she released the brunette. "I'm excited for my two best girls to be living together, although I will say that I'm disappointed with your room choice. Why didn't you take the other one with the good view?" she questioned, knowing that Kat had likely taken one of the two good ones.

For a few months, Katherine had gotten away with disregarding Amelia's voice of authority with the excuse that she wasn't her mother, and couldn't tell her what to do, but her father had quickly gotten sick of that and shut it down. It didn't abolish Katherine's level of disregard for what Amelia nor Bernard had to say a lot of the time, but she knew when to stop pushing, and when her stepmother began to speak in French, she knew she had hit that line. Her arms instinctively crossed over her chest and a scowl fell into place, but she didn't object to Amelia ending her pleas at changing rooms. There was no point, and she could only answer with a "Fine," to acknowledge that she understood this. Her stepmother seemed serious and the last thing that Katherine wanted to deal with was her father coming back up and reprimanding her in front of people like Amelia did. Taking no for an answer wasn't something that Katherine was comfortable or used to doing, and she was very tempted to start crying, just as a last resort in hopes that maybe she could cry her way into getting Dytto's bedroom, but Amelia's immediate turn back into the bedroom only spoke further to how her stepmother wasn't going to entertain it.

Even getting to see her shut down Deanna didn't make Katherine feel any better because in the end, she was still left without what she wanted. This was different than not getting some material item that she wanted, and it was ten times worse. Katherine had exaggerated on how poorly she thought of two of her roommates, but she had truly convinced herself that living with them was going to be hell, so now, she was already expecting the worst. Not even London's playful attitude could alleviate the bitterness that seemed to be instilled in her mood for the moment, and London insisting that she and Esperanza would get along wasn't reassuring either. Esperanza would probably be nice to her in front of London, but London wasn't going to be living with them, and Kat was sure that whenever they were alone, Esperanza would turn right back into the huge bitch she was known to be. Especially with her little sidekick Natalya there to back her up. "She's not my mom," Katherine corrected London. "And I wasn't even being rude. Like, she just always takes Deanna's side and doesn't even try to be fair and it's so typical." She could have went on for an hour about the injustices she faced at home, but she knew that it would have been futile, because London seemed to be in too good of a mood to want to hear it. While Kat usually liked a positive and upbeat London, she wished that the Queen Bee was in a worse mood today, because it would have meant that maybe she would have been on her side and tried to threaten Dytto into switching with her. Kat liked to think that she had a lot of power, but she knew that if anyone had the ability to sway the social system, it was London. It didn't stop her from sending a text to Dytto though, disregarding Amelia's insistence that she drop the topic.

To: Deanna
If you don't switch with me I'm going to tell London about how I saw Liam at our house with YOU this summer.

She had already told London about it anyway, but she thought that it might hold some weight over Dytto, despite knowing that Dytto had not seemed to make an attempt at keeping her hookup with Liam a secret anyway. If it wasn't obvious, she was trying anything and everything to get Deanna's room, so empty threats were not too low for her.

Katherine wanted to separate from London once they got into her dorm and she saw her pulling her towards Esperanza's room, but she knew that the attempt would have been futile. After seemingly losing her battle at switching rooms, the last person she wanted to deal with was the person who she wanted to escape from, especially when she felt like London was going to take her side too. She had always been capable of pretending to like Esperanza when London was around, but she had never had to live with her before, and she could barely feign a smile in the girl's presence when London brought up how great it was that they were living together. When London brought up the room placements, she had to at least appreciate that Esperanza had gotten one of the worst rooms in the dorm, but she remained silent, since it wasn't that big of a hit to really make her feel much better.

Esperanza began rummaging through her bag. She was trying to come up with reasons why she shouldn't murder Katherine. 1. She's London's friend 2. Esper'll go to jail and wreck her family name 3. She'll have no one to pick on besides the underclassmen. Her brown orbs narrowed as she threw one of her leather jackets on the bed. Her phone vibrated once more, she hoped that it would be from Farrah or London, but no it was from her rat face boyfriend. Reading the text slowly, she let out a shriek and threw her toothbrush at the wall, "You've got to be kidding me!" Her "partner in crime" would not be attending Crossroads this year for a family emergency. He had left Esper on her own to deal with being in the closet. She was tempted to call him up and yell at him, but she was too angry to even bother. Instead she sent him a "break up" text since he was no longer needed for her master plan. Eyeing Farrah's text notification, she pulled it up replying while muttering something about today could not be any worse in Spanish.

To Farrah my Babe:
I can't smile at her when she looks like Yoda and Kendall Jenner's love child.

She set her phone down, suddenly hearing London's familiar voice. She cringed at the nickname, crossing her arms over her black top. Her door was wide open and she could see that someone was with her. Her eyes widened as she felt disgust fill her visage. Of course London brought Katherine. Of course her day had gotten worse. She was hoping she could save being around Katherine until the barbecue, after classes if she was lucky. "How many times have I told you not to call me your Latina baby? I ain't your multi ethnic trophy friend!" She was just joking, she always had to say something remotely rude. It was just how it worked with her communication. The girl returned the embrace with a soft smile on her features, "I'm cute? Girl, you look fresh off the runway. I don't think my beauty can compete."

Her gaze travelled towards Katherine. She could practically see the disgust on her, even if it was showing. She gave the girl a pleasant smile. "Hello Katherine, lovely to see you again," she tried saying politely. But the snarky emphasis on the word lovely was hardly unnoticeable. Her attention turned back to London. "My my, that's a good question. Perhaps it was because I wanted to make sure Her Royal Highness here wanted a nice place. I just don't need to see the ocean every single day. I'd rather be people watching. You learn something new about people everyday. Half of the time you can blackmail them with that information," she said proudly. She turned back to her bag, pulling out a few other garments from it. She didn't know if she should tell them about Jonnie, perhaps when she was alone with London. But that was hard to come by, since she was the Queen B and everybody was around her.

Esperanza had not gotten fat over the summer, and her skin wasn't speckled in acne, so Katherine really had nothing to look forward to upon seeing her. She was still the same snarky bitch with an attitude problem that London somehow thought was nice? Enjoyable? An actual friend? Katherine didn't get it, and her expression was barely more than a sneer when Esperanza acknowledged her in such a forced manner. She didn't want to pretend either, and the mood that Deanna had put her in made her ability to tolerate Esperanza that much smaller today. The way that Esperanza was dressed in all black somehow made it that much easier for her to hate her, because she wanted to attribute the outfit to the darkness in Esperanza's soul. Or that it made her look like she belonged to the Emo clique, which in Kat's book, was definitely one of the lowest cliques you could belong to. This girl clearly wasn't the type of person who was supposed to be a cheerleader, nonetheless a Royal. Katherine couldn't really talk though, considering she loved an all-black outfit now and again. For someone who was so concerned with her weight and how her body looked, she knew good and well that black was her friend, and her outfits frequently reflected that. Even today's outfit included a black jacket. However, she rationalized that it was different between her doing it and Esperanza doing it, because Esperanza was the one who had a soul that was dark enough to fit in with the emo clique anyway. Today was just a perfect example of it, how she had done absolutely nothing wrong to Esperanza, and yet there she went, coming at her with that fake hello, and accusing her of being high-maintenance.

"I'll be moving out within the next twenty-four hours anyway, so you can have it once I leave," Katherine declared, trying to sound uninterested, though her arms crossed over her chests in a manner that was indicative of her feeling defensive. "The vibes in this room are just... not for me," she continued, deciding to resist ending the sentence in "disgusting" or "emo" since London was there, and she had to seem like the politer one out of her and Esperanza. With Amelia's dismissal of the situation and Dytto's apparent ignore of her text message, Katherine wasn't sure what she was going to do at this point, but she was still insistent on the fact that there was no way that she could survive a year with these roommates, and that was without even bumping into Natalya yet, and only dealing with Esperanza for a moment, while in London's presence. Dealing with the two of them alone was just unthinkable, and Eloise acting as a neutral person in all of it wasn't going to do her any real good. Especially not when London disliked Eloise, and her befriending the Artist would be one more thing that Esperanza could use against her when she went back to London with information. Clearly, from what Esperanza had just said, she wasn't above blackmail and Kat didn't want to be on the receiving end of that. "I'm going to change into something else for the barbecue, so I'll just meet you guys down there, kay?" Katherine said, though her eyes only remained on London, and even then, just for a second before she turned around and exited Esperanza's room. She did want to change, because while California weather meant that it was hot outside, she knew that she had a tendency to get cold easily, and later on, her air-conditioned classrooms would probably lead to her bare legs freezing. More than that, though, she just needed a reason to get out of Esperanza's presence and even though she needed to catch up with London, she figured that being alone was better than trying to do that with Esper right there.

Joe lived in Las Vegas, which was over a four hour drive to Crossroads Academy. He didn't have his own car, and flights from Vegas to Los Angeles were only around seventy-five dollars, so it was a lot easier for him to fly into Los Angeles and take a bus to Manhattan Beach, than it was to have one of his parents drive him. They both worked and asking them to take off a day to drive him was just unnecessary. He had worked all summer at a local summer camp, and losing $100 on transportation to school sucked, but was something that he could withstand. He had only one suitcase and a backpack filled with belongings by the time that he got to school, but this wasn't really even a representation of his working class status. He didn't own a lot of things, yeah, but he also didn't want a lot of things. He had clothes, some personal hygiene items to get him through the first few weeks, his computer and his school supplies, his violin... and not much more. Anything else that he needed, he knew could be easily purchased on campus on in the surrounding area. While he didn't have a car himself, many of his friends did, and he knew that Crossroads also had a school-run shuttle that drove students into town on the weekends if he really needed something that badly.

He had gotten to school at around nine-thirty, and was completely moved in about twenty minutes later. His move in process only consisted of him dumping his suitcase into the school-provided dresser, and leaving the rest of his things at the bottom of his closet. Unlike many of the other students, he didn't need the personalized furniture and upgraded amenities. His simple personality definitely helped, considering his parents weren't going to finance flat screen televisions and queen sized beds for his room anyway. While he was already tired enough that he wanted to take a nap and catch some z's before the barbecue, his involvement in the student government association meant that that wasn't possible. A few weeks earlier, he had responded to a group email and agreed to join the committee that was helping freshman students move in and get acquainted with the school. All it took was a few minutes of socializing for him to get the energy he had lost while travelling back, and by the time he headed back towards Chase, around eleven, he was ready for the rest of the day. His stomach was definitely ready for the food, if that meant anything, at least, but then again, it was a rare occasion when Joe wasn't ready and willing to eat a feast-sized meal.

This year, he was rooming with Kiffen, Antonio and William, and he hadn't run into any of the three yet since moving in. So, on his walk back to his dorm, he messaged the three, responded to Deanna's group message separately, and also sent out a couple of other texts. By the time that he was entering 2B, he had sent out the following, and a few more to other random Artists.

To: Kiffen, Antonio, William
Hey, have you guys moved in yet? Heading back to the room now if anyone needs help

To: Dytto
Heading back to Chase... had to fulfill my student gov duties by helping the freshman move in. Btw I still want you to join student gov this year. You've got that leadership stuff in you, D-Mac... and don't try to tell me that you're too busy dancing or whatever it is you do. You always seem to have time to let me kick ur ass in ping pong, you can make time to keep your buddy company at those weekly meetings

To: Katherine
Kat! Did you move onto campus okay? Need any help?

To: London
Hey! Hope I see you at the barbecue!

To: Ellie
I better see your face at the barbecue

"Hmm... I can't argue with that," London admitted with a grin when Esperanza gave her last reasoning for wanting the room. Esperanza's ways with blackmail and "people watching", as she labeled it, had proven to be useful in years past, so if she was going to use her room to an advantage in that sense, than London was all for it. She still thought that Esper should have gotten the ocean view over Natalya, but London didn't have any major problems with Natalya to a point where she would make that an issue. Besides, she also knew that Esper liked Natalya, so if she had really wanted that room, she probably could have convinced the girl to switch with her since they were friends.

London visibly rolled her eyes when Katherine once again, insisted that she was moving out. If Kat wasn't her friend, and she didn't know her well, she would have reminded her of what her stepmother had said, about that not being an option. She knew that would only lead to the girl growing more moody though, and despite her two drama-loving friends' moods, she was set on having a good day today! It was ironic sometimes, how London felt like she was the one often unfairly painted as a bitch, when people seemed to forget just how bad her friends could be compared to her. She normally would not have allowed Katherine to get away with leaving so abruptly, especially just to go change, but she wanted to talk to Esperanza alone, so it worked out, and she kept her mouth closed until Katherine was gone. She didn't speak to Esper right away, but instead moved closer to where the girl stood, fiddling with some clothes she had taken out of her bag. London picked up a dress and admired it momentarily, before walking over to the closet to hang it for Esper. She turned back when she figured that it was safe enough to talk then, and offered her best puppy-eyed expression as a preempt to soften the girl who had a reputation of being the biggest bitch in the school.
"Please promise me you'll try to love Kat like I do this year, Esper. Please? I know she's... a lot... sometimes, but you just have to be gentle with her. She's sensitive, you know? And If she's upset all year, I'm going to be the one who has to deal with that, and I don't need to be prematurely wrinkling because I'm stressing over you two being on the verge of killing each other. Like, I'll have to kill both of you if that happens." She became more playful at the last line, with her features softening just a bit, before she reached over and squeezed Esperanza's hand. "Seriously though, please be the amazing friend that I know you can be and try to be cool with her?" London knew that it might seem unfair for her to be vouching for Katherine to Esperanza, and not the other way around, but she knew that out of the two Esperanza would probably be more sensible about it. Probably not by much, considering that both girls could be the most dramatic of drama queens, but Esperanza at least seemed to possess some sort of level of consciousness about it all, where she might be able to put bitch-mode on hold, where Kat's seemed to be a lost cause. She was more ignorant than she was a bitch, even if those on the receiving end of her ignorance didn't see it that way. Plus, she knew that Kat was the type who could talk the talk, but couldn't walk the walk. She would let her tongue get her teeth knocked out, where Esper was the type to do both. She could be a bitch verbally, and she wasn't likely to back down, no matter what. It was a trait that had drawn London to her, because she loved girls who didn't take shit from anyone else, just not when the drama Esper was involving herself in involved her other friend.

What probably would have been the easy solution in all of this was for London to plead with Esperanza to switch rooms with her. Esper was on the cheer squad with Dytto and the dance team with Farrah, so she would probably enjoy her year in that dorm room. London got along with Natalya and was one of the few people who seemed to enjoy Katherine's presence, and Eloise was an absolute nobody in her book, so her presence would make no difference to London anyway. The only thing that prevented London from making that sensible offer was that... well, she was the Queen. She wasn't going to go out of her way for anyone else, not even her best friend. She had chosen her room specifically, and in a similarly petty reasoning system as Dytto, she had no reason to give it up to aide in anyone else's comfort. It probably wasn't fair for her to plead with Esperanza to be the bigger person here when she, herself, wasn't being one at all, but switching rooms herself wasn't something she would even consider, so it didn't seem to count. Like in most situations, London seemed to be exempt from the own rules she liked to enforce. "If for no other reason, than to make up for you not coming to see me in New York on the Fourth of July like you promised you would," she added, a mock glare being shot in Esperanza's direction at that reminder.

Her phone had went off with several texts since entering Esperanza's room. A few were from younger girls who were quick to fill her in on Jonnie dropping out, some commenting on Liam being at school, and some wondering where she was, and if they could sit with her at the barbecue. None of those, or the one from Joseph, were even opened, since her phone didn't even deserve a glance if she already knew what her two best friends were up to. Everyone else could wait.

"There!" Dytto exhaled in satisfaction as she and Nathan set her TV down on the stand that Colin had literally run behind them with when the duo made it to the elevator. Which was good on him since, if he hadn't caught up and continued chasing tail, he would have had to wait for someone to let him on the elevator and most girls were busy reuniting with their besties and gossiping and all those cute little things most girls did once they returned to school. Dytto didn't feel the need to do such. The first person she had reached out to had been Nathan and that had been mostly to get help with moving her stuff in, and making sure he didn't put off his check-in for some inexcusable reason. She had text Natalya last night and while she, of course, would love to go visit the temptation that was Esperanza Ramos, she could wait. Katherine was there and probably London since neither the blonde or Farrah had been present when Dytto returned to their dorm.

"Finally," Nathan drawled and fell onto her bed, sprawling back rather comfortably against the fuzzy pillows that lined her headboard and propping his feet up on the fuzzy duvet at the end of the bed. His feet basically at the end of the mattress and that alone made Dytto smirk. "Lazy Sasquatch," she grumbled playfully, picked up one of the gray pillows from one of her armchairs and hurled it at the Rebel. He only laughed and caught it midair before placing the plush item behind his head as leverage. Amelia smirked from her perch on the other chair and rose to her feet. "Lazy Sasquatch who helped unpack all of your things and letting me leave," she decided to correct and Dytto put on a show of rolling her eyes as her mother planted a kiss on her forehead. "Call me this weekend...whenever. You know how we do." She reminded her and Dytto smiled, much gentler than any of her other expressions thus far in the day. Her lined blue eyes flitted over to Nathan as he, in response, averted his gaze from the scene. It was enough to make Dytto pull away from her mother knowingly, smiling all the while. "Tell Bernard I said thanks." Amelia's smile seemed to brighten and she waved, heading to the bedroom door before pausing to note Nathan over her shoulder.

"Nathaniel," she called and his head snapped up, arms folded over his chest in relaxation but eyes inquisitive. "Don't forget what I told you." At first, Nate wasn't planning on answering, especially since she had brought up their private conversation in front of Dytto. Who he usually told everything to...though, considering the dancer didn't know about his current relationship status, maybe not everything. "Yes, maam." Dytto scrunched up her face, bewildered, but her mother said nothing more. The older brunette simply stepped out and closed the door behind her. Dytto turned on Nate. "Do I need to ask?" She inquired, a playful note to her genuine curiosity. Nathan didn't even pretend to entertain her probing. "Nope." Was his curt response and her baby blues narrowed into slits - not cold, but...searching, relentless. And Nathan gave her a blank face in response. A second later and Dytto was rolling her eyes before throwing herself beside him on the bed. They had both taken off their shoes five minutes ago. "Fiiiiiine. Be that way. Wanna see Fred more than you anyway!" She snapped childishly and only the corner of Nate's mouth twitched upwardly, amused, as he watched the brunette type out a few texts.

To: Fred
Pretty much finished. Come over

To: Joe
Gonna need more than flattery, sweet cheeks. Wanna chill b4 dis cookout?

To: Black Widow
Lemme know when u get here ;D

To: Katherine
Lemme know if u tell her. I can send a pic

Was her text to Katherine a bit petty? Especially after she had purposefully avoided contacting the girl earlier when she had first seen the threat. But...well, Dytto was petty. And shady. And this wasn't really shade to London since Dytto didn't have a problem with her nor did she see a reason for the girl to be upset with her over Liam. They were just fuck buddies, after all. It wasn't her fault some people wanted to get all in their feelings. Why do feelings when you could just screw them out of your being - literally? Says the girl who still isn't over her crush, her subconscious decided to opine and Dytto told it to go fuck itself. Instead of allowing that train of thought to derail her, she glanced up at Nate with a grin. "Ready for that DLC? Nate grinned back. "Damn straight." She only giggled before hopping up so that she could attack the game system to her television.

Esper listened to the bratty girl's comments while fiddling with her hair. What was wrong with her style? Nothing. Bitch better shut the fuck up. The woman plastered a smile on her face, seeing Katherine leave. She could practically tell that London was going to kill her if she said anything mean again. "Leaving so soon? That's a shame," she chuckled dryly. Waiting for a few seconds before speaking, London beat her to it. Esperanza's eyes widened in shock at her words. It was so hard to not keep her normal testing bitch face. "London shit, you're making me actually not a cold hearted bitch," she muttered.

She had no idea how hard it would be to try and be nice to Katherine. She wouldn't make things easier, no matter how hard Esper tried. She chewed on her bottom lip slowly. "I'll do my best, I can't promise that she'll do the same. If she gets on my nerves I ain't holding back, mkay?" she winked. She looked at the piles of clothes on her bed. Esper hated packing and she had no idea how she had this many clothes. Probably because Farrah got her some, and she couldn't say no to her best friend. On the comment about New York, her jaw tightened as she placed the white blouse down to cross her arms. "I was in a Palm Springs trailer park all summer! My papa thought it would be a fun idea to go on a camping trip. It was a disaster! Julio tried to put cockroaches in my mattress and I wanted to strangle that twelve year old rascal!" Remembering the camping trip, she groaned in disgust. Her digits wrapped around the zipper to the toiletries part of her bag and opened it.

There was something else on her mind as the Latina unpacked. The flashing messages on her phone assured her that this was what she wanted to do. How to approach it though? She inhaled sharply, trying to form the words together. For once, the girl was actually nervous. She glanced at the poster from Beyonce's I Am... Sasha Fierce album before turning back to London. "I like girls," she said simply. Although it didn't feel that simple to her. Nothing would ever be the same after she spoke those three words. She had left the closet and told the one person she trusted and also the one person who had the power to spread it around. She wasn't just in love with any girl, she wanted to desperately be with someone. How did it work? She never knew what love felt like. Her version of love was just a facade, nothing but fake. But for once she wanted something real. She was too afraid to express that though. The seductress was just down the hall, near London's room. Even if Katherine and Dytto switched, she'd probably have more trouble than before. "Oh no, I should not have said that," she winced, looking down at her bag. She had thrown herself into a seriously bad situation and she regretted letting that sleep. But she needed to talk to somebody about it.

LIAM NIELSEN

"No one is more qualified to shape the young minds of our
future than the King Bee."

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Liam didn't hold any student government position, and he had no official reason to be leading a group of underclassmen boys around campus, giving them a tour, but he was anyway. One reason was that he had arrived on campus early, like really early, as in seven in the morning, before move-in had even started. His dad was flying to New York later that day for business and was only around in the early morning to help Liam move in, so his RA made an exception for him showing up early. Another reason was that he was Liam Nielsen, and well, when he was in the mood, he could be friendly. It was a friendliness that was laced with more of an incentive than to just make people feel at ease, though. It was a friendless that was motivated by his need to make sure that these boys knew that he was the top dog on campus, that he was the person that they needed to look up to and strive to be like. His behaviors didn't often lead him to be the ideal role model in a moral sense, but in a world based on popularity, he knew that he earned his spot at the top. He belonged there, and if he hadn't, the former King Bee wouldn't have chosen him as his successor without even considering anyone else.

The tour was ending in Chase Hall, the senior boys' dormitory, and the one that Liam insisted would be the one that they'd be able to sneak the most girls into, when it came their time to live there. That was, if they followed his advice, however. Throughout his tour, he had made sure to make it clear to these young minds that no girl was off limits to Liam Nielsen, and that with a little practice, they could be on the road to being as wanted as he was, too. "Listen, boys. You wanna know the key to success? Simplicity. Modesty. Acting like you're open to anything, when really the only thing you're open to is her legs opening. Girls like that. I don't know why. You know, I've got a lot of answers, but I don't know why. All I know is that when you try too hard, you look like a douche, and no girl on this planet is trying to hop into a bed with a douche. Why do you think Davenport over there has never been laid?" he said, motioning over towards a Prep boy who sat with a group of guys on a couch on the other side of the room. "He didn't get friend zoned. Nah, he got douche zoned. If you don't know how to wear a Cartier watch or a Burberry jacket without looking like you're trying to tell the world that your dad owns a Fortune 500 company, then stick to the fucking Nikes and shit like that. You're just embarrassing all of us, otherwise, and I'm not for that."

Liam's phone going off was the main reason for why he ended his spiel there for the moment, and an eager boy from the group in front of him perked up at the noise with a grin. "Is that one of your bitches?" he asked excitedly, with a laugh that made it obvious that he was proud of himself for the comment. Instead of the high five and hearty "hell yeah" that he was probably expecting, Liam looked at him in disgust, which he would later admit to himself was probably exaggerated. "Are you kidding me?" The words and the look seemed to wipe the smirk right off of the boy's face. "You don't call your girls bitches ever. I didn't think I had to go over rule number one with you boys, but I guess so. Rule number one is you respect your girls. A girl that lets you bang her in the back of her Porsche isn't a bitch." Nope, she's not a bitch. She's someone you'd call Deanna Devereux, AKA the best fuck you're gonna have in your life, boys. He wasn't in the business of name dropping, or else that thought would have been verbalized. "But I won't let you boys get ahead of yourselves anyway. It takes work to even get a girl to call your own, and you've gotta be prepared to start at the bottom if you wanna get the ones at the top." He had only skimmed through his messages before returning his attention to the boys, but now that his friends were on campus and hitting him up, he was done playing big brother to these freshman. "Now take what I said, and put it to use. The barbecue they're setting up? Go get good seats, and scout out the hottest girls you can find. Remember what I said though, you've gotta start at the bottom. Don't even waste your time trying for anyone who isn't a sophomore or a freshman." With that, he left the boy's in the lobby of Chase Hall and headed upstairs to where his dorm room was. As he walked up the stairs, Dytto, London, Katherine and William got texts from him. Dytto's was laced with sarcasm, even though he wasn't sure who she actually was talking about in reference to the girlfriend, and London's was one he expected to go unanswered, while he knew texting Kat was gutsy.

To: Dytto
Damn D, I thought that we were on the same page with not trying to take it that far. Don't tell me that I made you love sick with a summer's worth of charm. Thought you were stronger than that, but I guess I shouldn't have even expected you to be able to resist me. I just seem to have that effect on girls.

To: Katherine
My favorite girl... what's up, Kat? I get to take you as my date to this barbecue, or do I really have to work for you?

To: London
Not gonna stop by and say hello? Thought we could at least be civil, L

To: William
Wya dude

It didn't take long for him to reach his dormitory, and he unlocked the door and headed inside. Luckily, he had missed Fred's dad leaving by a few minutes, so he didn't have to deal with that, but on his way to his bedroom, he noticed Frederick's was open, and that the guy was inside. He could have just kept walking and went into his own room, but Liam was feeling friendly, and figured that there would be no harm in saying hello. He recognized the kid's face from some mutual classes in the years back but couldn't, for the life of him, remember his name. Rather than try to guess, or ask and make it obvious that he didn't know who he was, he decided to go with the classic nickname of "bro". After having gone to school with the kid for probably three years, if not more, it seemed rude to have to ask him what his name was. "Hey, bro. Hope you don't mind that I took Room B. You know who else we're dorming with?"

LONDON WELLINGTON

London didn't take Esperanza's jump back to the defensive side personally. She knew that the girl was just as guarded as her, and especially since this topic was so personal, it made sense that she wanted to revert to her aggressive side to keep herself from unraveling any further. London could respect that. Hell, she preferred to be at the receiving end of it for the moment, over having to deal with a sobbing Esperanza. It was one of the few things that London just wasn't equipped for. She struggled dealing with her own emotions, and she was almost bad at functioning around other people who were getting emotional. She returned Esper's smile when it broke through her bitch face, but it was only there for a minute, because London seriously was not going to accept not knowing who this crush was on. Harmless, school girl crush or not, she deserved to know. It was just part of the best friend, girl code that London instilled in her friends, and she expected them to adhere to it. "I don't care if it's just a school girl crush," she countered, a more toned down smile still on her face. "Don't I deserve to know?" she added playfully, a knowingly cocky hint towards her status. "Look, I'll let you think about it while you feast away, but by the time classes get out later, I better have that name sent to my phone. It's just part of the best friend code, Esper! You know you were always the first to know about anything that happened between me and Liam." Before today, London had contemplated over whether or not she even wanted to speak that blonde's name ever again, but she had decided to go with the approach that she was completely indifferent towards him. That meant that she wasn't going to not acknowledge what had went on between them or how it ended, but she wasn't going to allow herself to associate any negative emotions with it. She needed to act like she wasn't sad or even angry, because she wanted to believe that Liam was never that important to her. That he had never held any sort of power over her. It wasn't true, but that was the plan for the year, or at least for however long she could manage to suppress her emotions.

With that playful remark left for Esper to mull over, London headed towards the door, but didn't fully exit before turning to her friend with a more serious expression. "And obviously, your secret is safe with me, but when you do decide to be more open about it whatever, with like... everyone, just know I have your back, okay? Always and forever." A lighthearted giggle and a wave of her pinky, as if she were pinky promising, followed that, before she gently closed Esperanza's door behind her. She wanted to take Katherine and Esperanza's lead and get ready for the barbecue, which was probably going to be starting any minute now, but she wanted to talk to Katherine. This day is definitely going to be more stressful than it should be... she thought as she stood outside of Katherine's door. She waited only a moment before going in, as she sent out a couple of text messages. A few went to a couple underclassmen who she demanded save her a good table outside for the barbecue and one went to Liam. She was tempted to respond to Joe... but then she decided it wasn't necessary. He was nice and all, but not to an extent where she wanted to have a pointless conversation via text with him.

To: Liam
I'm civil with everyone. You're not important enough to be an exception to that.

As she pushed open Katherine's room, she tried to perk up her mood. It would be necessary if she wanted any chance at combating the brunette's bad mood. "Oh my God, you're so annoying," she began, with a tone that suggested that she was just being dramatic. "I love your room, and your view is perfect. You're not moving out of here, Kat. Seriously. Get it out of your head, and stop letting it ruin your - and my - day, okay? Let's be happy and go have fun. Tomorrow we're going to go to the beach after class, and if you want, I'll drive us to Beverly Hills and we can stay at your place for the weekend, okay? This year is going to be so amazing and if you keep being so negative, you're going to ruin both of our vibes. Esper said that she has no issue with you and she wants to be friends, so can you at least try to be nice to her too?" She perched herself on the edge of Katherine's bed as she looked towards her hopefully.

Katherine thought that she could get away with actually just meeting London and Esperanza at the barbecue in a little while, but only a few minutes after leaving the girl in Esper's room, her bedroom door opened, and in came London. Normally, Katherine was very social. She enjoyed talking and hearing her own voice, and having people to converse with. That was especially true when it came to London, and should have been confirmed to an even greater extent today, since she had went a while during the summer without even seeing her blonde partner in crime. After the morning she had though, all she wanted to do was curl up in bed and go to sleep. Well, she wanted to curl up in a bed that was located in a different room and go to sleep. Even with all of her things arranged in this room, her refusal to allow herself to feel at home made it impossible for her to feel comfortable in the bedroom. In her mind, that just translated to its "aura being off" and resulted in her sending a text message to her father, claiming that she was going to fail all of her classes that year, against her own will, because the vibes of the room were already working against her. Deanna's rude response deserved a comeback as well, but Katherine was stumped on what to respond with. That was always her issue with Dytto. The girl had a quick wit to her that Katherine just didn't possess, and she hated knowing that her stepsister could one up her. That was another reason for why text-fighting was easier, because it gave Kat time to think about her responses, unlike face to face fights where she was deemed a moron if she couldn't come up with a comeback in a millisecond like Dytto always could.

Eventually, and just before London had come in, she responded saying, "You're literally so rude. I don't understand why you won't give me my room back when I asked you so nicely in the beginning." Trying to flip the situation to make herself seem like the victim was a typical card Kat pulled, and calling the room hers, and acting as if Dytto had actually taken it from her, was something that wasn't new to this conversation that was probably getting very old for everyone at this point. She just couldn't give it up yet, though. Not to Dytto, and especially not to Dytto when she still possessed the taunting attitude that her mother had told her to lose. Just as London walked in, she decided to follow that text up with another lie, in her last ditch attempt at convincing her stepsister to swap with her.

To: Deanna
If you don't switch with me I'm moving off campus and you're going to have to drive home every morning to pick me up and then drive home after classes to drop me off too

She was going to respond to Liam with a dismissive respose, but the second London walked in, she set her phone down. It probably would have been better and easier to just tell London that Liam was reaching out to her, and brush it off as if he were a disgusting pig, but for some reason, she opted against mentioning it. When London entered, she set her phone down on the table beside her bed and stepped towards her closet, but didn't enter it like she wanted to do, because London was already addressing her. Of course, like the rest of the world, she had clearly sided with Kat's step-family on the bedroom issue. So typical. If it were anyone other than London, Katherine would have told them to shut up because they didn't understand, but she kept herself composed because she knew better than to snap on London like that. Not when she knew that the blonde was right, and her energy probably was bringing down the first-day-mood. It was impossible to be happy knowing that she wasn't getting her way, though. "Fine, but I'm going to have to spend every weekend in Beverly Hills if I want to survive this year. I'm not living in this room for any longer than I have to," she said, a frown radiating the defeat she was feeling, though she knew that regardless of her admitting defeat verbally, she would still press the issue with her stepsister. "Aren't you going to Natalya's stupid party tomorrow? I'm not going, especially since I know I have to go home for the weekends now. I'd rather be in Beverly Hills than at another one of her dumb parties anyway."

She had waited to respond to London's reference to Esperanza until the end, because she knew that it partly wasn't true, and that if Esper had said that, she was lying to appease London, and also because even if Esper was going to be nice, Kat knew it wasn't going to be enough to make living in this room doable. "And I've been nice to her since day one, so like, yeah, I'll keep being nice to her. She's just always so rude to me for no reason, but I'll try to be the bigger person if that's what you're asking," she explained in a voice that was innocent as she could muster up. She stepped further into her closet then, hoping that could be the end of the conversation. "And I just found out that Deanna made a sex tape with Liam, and she basically offered to show me it, so you better watch your back in that room too. Like, I'm telling you, she's a freak. She might put cameras in the shower or something. Like, I guarantee that the only reason why she won't switch with me is because she wants to hook up with you. She's seriously that weird," she said plainly as she began to look through her clothes. The "sex tape" remark was a typical exaggeration for Katherine, where she would take something, such as Dytto saying she had a picture of her and Liam, and stretch it to a remarkable length into a completely different story.

Esperanza wanted to say something as London left, but nothing could come out of her mouth. She bit her lip, looking over at one of the bags near her suitcase. Now that no one was here, no one could judge her over obsession. Esper was a a huge fan of vinyls. She loved collecting them and then playing them when she was a sad little Latina. Somehow she got her hands on several good ones this summer, and she couldn't wait to hear how they sounded. She opened the reusable Trader Joes bag and pulled out a sleek black box. She turned around and stepped towards the dresser, placing it down by her laptop that she had unpacked earlier. Looking around for an empty plug, she bent down and jammed the black cord into the plug. She grinned as she pulled back out from under the desk. Her hands began rummaging through the bag for her vinyls. She delicately grabbed the five new vinyls and placed them by her other collection.

She smiled in approval as she had finally finished unpacking. She did a little happy tour jete and landed just by the closet, banging her head. "Ow Jesus fuck!" This was the second time that Esper had been clumsy today and that was totally uncool in her book. Esperanza Ramos was supposed to be a graceful dancer and cheerleader, not a clumsy gay. Well now that she was sort of out of the closet, she could technically refer to herself as gay. Esper made her way towards her phone, checking the several messages. The one from Russian Barbie made her groan. The girl had made it impossible for her to go to Dytto's now, since she had to go help her with the presents or whatever. Maybe, just maybe this was a good thing. Then she could keep her hands to herself, not look like a stammering idiot in front of the nerds that she probably had in her room. She inhaled sharply as she began to respond to the messages.

To Russian Barbie:
Girl, you cannot be serious. Presents so soon? I'll have my ass ready when you come.

To Dytto:
Change of plans, Russian Barbie's going to hand out presents. I'll still see you at the elevator, and you besta believe that I'll be coming your way afterwards.

To Farrah my Babe:
Duh, I think it's time we get you a boyfriend. I'm back to being a matchmaker after I dumped Jonnie's ass. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Just not any of the nerds, okay? Well I mean, maybe one of the nerds if they aren't Fredrick Gains.

Just as she finished the messages, Natalya poked her head in. She nearly fell over in shock. How the hell did that woman get here so fast? Did it take that long for Esper to unpack and marvel over her vinyl collection. "Yeah, yeah. I'll go get London, she's just next door," she commented before slipping out the door. "Oh, and nice to see you again. We'll catch up at the barbecue? I have something to tell you," she gave a faint smile before making her way to Katherine's room. Without knocking, she swung the door open. "Sorry to interrupt. Well actually no, I'm not sorry but that doesn't matter," she announced her presence with a genuine smile on her features. Not the fake one that she forced when Katherine was around. "Natalya's got her presents, since it's probably our last year of getting them. It would suck if you didn't come too London!" She pleaded, acting as if what had happened in their room not too long ago never happened. She looked at Katherine, suddenly putting two and two together. Natalya didn't like Katherine as well, so she probably wouldn't have any gifts for her. "Unless you want to stay with Katherine, that's cool," she shrugged. She looked out the door to where her friend was and smiled softly, "Either way, I'll see you both at the barbecue okay?" She gave a small wave to the pair before taking off. She hated running, but she had to do it all the time to stay in shape for her activities which totally sucked. Esper made her way to the elevator, looking behind her in hopes that the brunette beauty known as Dytto would come out of 2B. She winced at her own thoughts and sighed heavily. This was going to be a long year.

Nathan only grinned down at Farrah's face when their lips parted, tucking a few strands of hair behind her left ear gently. He had to learn to ignore the faces she made whenever Dytto somehow made her way into their conversation. It was always an awkward situation to be placed in, which was the other reason why he was perfectly fine with keeping them a secret for just a bit longer. Dytto might actually kill him.

The other dancer was usually much chiller than that and her carefree, don't-give-an-absolute-fuck-about-anything-that'll-cause-me-drama attitude was renown in their group. Sure, she liked hearing drama from time to time, but if Dytto could help it, she would remove herself from it or dispel it from her mind as quickly as she could so as not to linger on the issue. It was unhealthy just as much as it was healthy, but he doubted she would handle the situation well. Nate remembered their earlier years at Crossroads, Dytto's misery. It had fostered a bit of hatred towards anyone who was involved and, despite the fact that she admitted that Farrah had never touched her nor even acknowledged her back then, her fellow dancer was hated. The abhorrence was strong with this one and it should have been enough to keep Nathan on the frenemies-with-benefits track like he was supposed to. But it gives you such a thrill, should not still be the unspoken truth.

"Probably not long," he answered honestly just in time for his phone to vibrate in his back pocket. Sighing heavily and thinking it was probably Dytto since she had kept going back to her phone all morning back when she helped him check-in, he pulled it out only to see Nat's text. It made him roll his eyes and chuckle quietly before meeting Farrah's eyes once more. "Well. Duty calls. Apparently, I gotta go. Dee's other half just got here," he said and kissed Farrah's forehead gently. He turned to at least reach for the door when he heard heels stomp excited into the apartment from the other side, willing himself to be silent and not move. "Shit," he swore as he heard Natalya's unnecessarily loud and excited voice and her bang against Dytto's door. He waited until he heard those same heels leave just as quickly as they came before glancing over his shoulder at Farrah, "I'll text you after class.", and then hurried out, closing the door quietly behind him.

Dytto was cracking up at Fred's quick retort, moving to peruse through her collection for Fred's enjoyment but also to get out her second controller. She had earlier only pulled out one game controllers since Outlast was only a one-person game. It made her briefly made her wonder if the creators would change the interface to accommodate more than one, but she quickly shot that down. Having one player was what made it a heart-racing experience. "Uh huh, talk your shit, Gains," she said distractedly and finally found her second controller in the lower cabinet of her television stand. Her phone vibrated on the rug, but she chose to ignore it at the moment. Especially if it was Liam.

"You say something simple and chose Call of Duty?" She exclaimed, dramatizing her skepticism before tsking and shaking her head. "You must really want this ass-whooping." Dytto sorted back through the disk boxes as she had seen the game a second ago and then let out a small exclamation upon finding it again. As she proceeded to restart her game station's system and exchanging the disks, the sound of Fred digging his hand into the paper lined box ceased and his next question came. "Yeah, I did. I didn't kn - " Only a second later and there was a loud banging on her door, which for a second reminded Dytto of Nathan (despite knowing that he knew he could easily walk into her room at any given moment), and then Natalya's voice. Dytto whipped her head in the direction of the door and she rolled her eyes as Natalya decided to rush her. Well, them, since she had also been looking for Fred as well earlier. "This bitch...always tryna' give people heart attacks," she grumbled without actually meaning a thing by it.

Dytto quickly rose to her feet, raking her fingers through her straightened hair and fixing her snapback so that it was no longer backwards on her head. She had flipped it in the middle of watching Nate play - who, by the way, was taking too damn long and she wouldn't be surprised if Farrah had pissed him while acquiescing to his demands for quieter music since there was literally silence from the wall now. As she slipped her feet back into her black Aquazurra sandals (they were heels, for some reason, most people called them sandals and Dytto really didn't feel like arguing about it) and picked up her red vest, she also grabbed her phone and glanced at Fred. "Rain check on your ass kicking. We've been summoned," she told him on a playful wink and pulled her red vest back on, allowing it to fall freely down to her ankles. She glanced back down at her phone to see messages from Liam, Esperanza and Katherine. Two made her roll her eyes; only one made her smile. And aren't you turning into a sappy ass bitch, some part of her brain taunted and Dytto chose to ignore it, grabbed a hold of Fred's arm while reaching for her set of dorm keys, and then heading out of her dorm to see Nate standing in the hallway. Her head tilted to the side for a moment before Dytto closed her door behind them, locking it.

"You just leaving her room," she questioned sardonically, suspiciously, as she continued to walk past him so that Nate and Fred could follow. A scent hit her as she passed him and Dytto wrinkled her nose ponderingly "No, just coming back from the bathroom," he lied without falter, nodding to Fred again, and proceeded to follow the brunette as she appeared to be typing on her cell. "Smelling like you've been dumped in a trashcan filled with nothing but perfume?" Was her next inquiry and not one to usually stumble at the face of Dytto's quick fire questions, Nate responded with "Not my fault that apparently, you live with a lot of girls who flooded your damn bathroom with this shit." His Brooklyn accent became much clearer in his defense of himself and Nate didn't have to see Dytto's face to know that she either didn't trust him or didn't care. So, he turned his attention to Fred. "What's up with her? You kick her ass or something?" Dytto hated losing, but she also wasn't taking Nathan's bait either. And he still couldn't see her face. Her hair fell like a curtain of chestnut silk as she punched out a few responses on her phone, her heels click-clacking against the white linoleum floor.

To: Esper
Can't wait

To: Liam
1, ew. 2, ew. And 3, the difference between animals & Kat is dat 1 of dem is cute. And it damn sure ain't her

To: Katherine
Try again

It didn't take long to reach the elevator and when she did, a small smirk was on Dytto's face because she was taking in both her best friend and Esper. Though, her gaze was mostly on the cheerleader and Dytto ran her fingers through her hair, twisting her fingers on a few strands as she eyed Esperanza surreptitiously. After all, she said she wouldn't touch. Said nothing about not looking. Nate had to laugh to himself, just a bit and quietly, at that. He knew all about Dytto's little "innocent" crush on Esperanza and always found it interesting with the two interacted. Dytto was good at being cool and detached, just not when this one was around. "This better be a bomb ass present for you to be banging on people's doors like you've lost your mind," Dytto stated distractedly, flitting her gaze to Natalya with a warm smile, before her gaze returned to Esperanza. Who honestly shouldn't show that much long. Like, honestly - that's not fair. How was Dytto not supposed to envision getting her hands all over that smooth, tanned, untouchable skin. Honestly, unfair and unjust torture. "Hey, gorgeous. Don't you look all tanned and glorious!" She greeted her, dragging her eyes up to meet Esperanza's, her tongue peeking out to wet her bottom lip. Nate had to cough into his fist to avoid a snicker.

LONDON WELLINGTON

London wanted to roll her eyes at Katherine's declaration that since she couldn't switch bedrooms, she was just going to commute home every weekend to avoid being on campus as much as possible. Katherine's home was in Beverly Hills, which was only about a half an hour away when there was no traffic, but could be over an hour's drive during rush hour. That, combined with the undeniable fact that Kat sucked at driving and at this rate, didn't seem to be destined to pass her road test any time soon, made that declaration seem like one that possessed Kat's typical level of exaggeration in it. She didn't respond to it, though, because Katherine continued to speak, referencing Natalya's party, and then jumping back to Esperanza, and then bizarrely adding in a tidbit about a sex tape between Dytto and Liam. Katherine was in her closet by then, so she didn't witness the disgusted expression that forced itself onto London's face for just a moment before she was able to compose herself again and wipe it off. Again, London knew Kat well enough to be used to her dramatic story telling, and how when she was the one reciting a string of events, the truth was often stretched to fit that side of Katherine. Especially with her stepsister being involved, it wouldn't have been absurd if Katherine was just completely making it up to make Dytto look like a sex-addicted slut, but London did recall Kat mentioning that Dytto and Liam had been spotted together frequently over the summer. It was what had led her to feel so... unsure... about Dytto, and how she wanted to treat her this year. The girls had never had issues in the past, and London wasn't the type of person who blacklisted someone without knowing all of the facts, so for now, Dytto was safe in her book. The inner voice in her that told her that she wanted nothing to do with Liam anymore, so it was a good thing that he had other girls to distract himself with wanted her to say that Dytto would forever be safe in her book, at least regarding that. Why should she care who Liam fucked now that she had declared that she was over him? If only it was that easy, though...

She appreciated Esper bursting into the room, only because it gave her a reason to get her mind off of Katherine's comment, for just a minute. She returned Esper's smile, though it was a little weaker than she wanted it to be, but nodded when she said that London might want to stay with Katherine. That was the plan. In all honesty, she didn't care that much about Natalya's gifts or her party. Maybe to her friend group, the rebels, and a few of the other random friends she had, including Esperanza, all of that stuff was a big deal. London wasn't close with her like that though, and in truth, all she was ever going to see Natalya as, was a rebel. A C-lister. She wouldn't be frowned upon like some of her peers on that level, but it didn't mean that the parties she hosted or the things that she did for her friends spent any time on London's mind. She wasn't important enough for London to hate, but she also wasn't important enough for London to care about. The girls would probably offer each other pleasantries if Esperanza was around, and really, London had absolutely no ill feelings for Natalya, but she wasn't her friend. Not like Esper was, at least. Maybe some of the other royals could accept Natalya as a friend, or at least, something more than London could, because she had money, but that wasn't enough to impress London. Not when her best friend was an Arnault. Not when her own parents had a staggering net worth. Not when nearly every single A-lister, and many B-listers, had trust funds that were larger than you could imagine. Money was too familiar to really impress London to a point where it had a great deal of influence on who she respected. Still, it held enough power for her to decide that, combined with Esper's friendship, she would entertain the relevancy that Natalya seemed to think she possessed sometimes. She could do that for a friend. "Honestly, I couldn't care less about missing her party," London admitted, shifting her position on Kat's bed so she could peer into the closet at her. "If Esper really wants us to go, maybe we could make an appearance, but I don't think that it's something that demands our presence." It was strange for London to be in a position where she was actually considering Kat and Esper's feelings and desires over her own, but Katherine's bad mood, combined with Esper's secret, put her into a weird spot where she felt like she had to be extra compassionate towards the two of them. The mood would probably pass in an hour or two, but for now, London was being the good friend that she always was... even if it was usually hidden beneath layers and layers of ice.

As she relaxed a bit more on the bed, she considered bringing up Katherine's comment about Dytto and Liam again. She wasn't going to hover over the part where Kat tried to dismantle Dytto's character, or shun her for her sexuality, but just touch upon this "sex tape" that the two had apparently created. However, before she could, the devil himself texted her back, and his message made her scowl for long enough that she decided that he really wasn't even worth thinking about. If he made a sex tape with Dytto, he was absolute scum of the earth, but she didn't want to know... or at least, she didn't need to know. While she ignored his text, she did answer another one on her phone, which was from William. Her friendship with him was going to be interesting, this year. The fact that he was best friends with Liam made her uncomfortable, but she genuinely liked Will, and for her, she didn't think there was a reason to feel awkward. If anyone should feel weird about them still being friends, it should be Liam, she thought. If the situation was reversed, and she knew that Kat was still acting friendly towards Liam, she would be pissed, since Kat was supposed to be her best friend, and therefore, loyal to her. This was probably a little bit different though, since Liam was the only one who had done any wrong here, so there probably was no reason for Will to remain loyal towards Liam.

To: William
Yeah, all moved in :). What about you?

"We can figure out tomorrow later, though. Just hurry up and get ready so we can go eat." London had no need to change out of her outfit that she had come to school in, and she wasn't concerned enough to reapply makeup or fix her hair. Having caught a glimpse of her reflection in Kat's mirror and approving of her own look helped, though.

LONDON WELLINGTON

"I am seriously craving a good burger right now, so let's go for a run later, kay? You know it just as well as I do that that's one of the major cons of California, over New York. In New York, you have all fall and winter to let your summer body fall apart, and then you still have all spring to build it back up, but we have to stay in shape year round here." She caught herself after that, and quickly corrected herself. "Well I have to stay in shape year round. You, on the other hand, need to make sure this year you actually keep some meat on your bones. I really hope you're over that phase, Kat," she said, the last sentence coming with an included knowing glance at her friend. When London had found out about Katherine's eating disorder a couple of years back, she had treated it in a similar manner as Esperanza's coming out. It was something that she was uncomfortable with, because she wasn't well-versed in being incredibly supportive in a lovey-dovey way. She wasn't the kind of friend who could send Katherine text messages every morning to remind her to eat a healthy breakfast, or tell her that she was beautiful the way she was. She just didn't function that way, no matter how close she was with the person. She was more comfortable with shooting Katherine glares when she saw her passing up meals and sternly telling her that she wasn't going to stand to spend senior year with her best friend locked up in some mental institution. Luckily, or at least from what London had been told, Kat's summer had went well and she was on the right track to recovery. The eating disorder had been "cured" and Katherine would be the present, exuberant and vibrant girl that London loved. That was the plan, at least.

The girls had left Katherine's dormitory a few minutes earlier, and were now arriving at the barbecue. Even from a distance, the smell of the fresh barbecue food made London's mouth water. As she had said, she tried to be healthy about what she ate because she did care about maintaining her figure, but she wasn't the type of person who obsessed over that type of stuff. Definitely not to the extent where she could turn down food that fit her cravings, every now and again. Though London knew that being at the top of the social pyramid came with its responsibilities, right now, she really just wanted to focus on her friends and food, so when a couple of sophomores approached her with eager smiles on their faces, it took a bit of effort to hide her dwindling patience. "Hi London," the first girl chirped. London knew her name to be Jenna, only because she was one of the girls who had seemed to only join the yoga club the year before, to pester her. Whenever they crossed paths, it seemed like this girl had a million questions about what London had done the weekend before, what her plans for the next weekend were, what color nail polish she was wearing, and where London recommended she get a dress for an upcoming gala. It was cute at first, and even London could admit that having followers was sometimes a nice boost to her ego, but after a while, the girl had become nothing short of annoying. Her little posse of friends, whose three names were unknown to London, were just as annoying. "That club you were at a few weeks ago looked so fun! Where were you? I was, like, totally jealous," Jenna continued, quickening her pace to keep up with London, who had continued walking even after the girl's greeting. "I'm not sure," London mulled, uninterestedly. She knew what club the girl was referring to, because she had left several comments under the Instagram photo London had posted of herself there, asking this same question. And like those comments, London wasn't going to give an answer to this question either. "We'll talk to you girls later," she then added, slightly abruptly, as she decided that she wanted to lose the girls before they killed her vibe. Kat's brattiness and Esper's testiness had already taken a toll on it, and she wasn't going to let it worsen any more. Not even after seeing Liam standing beside the burgers. Nope, he wasn't that important, and that reassurance made her want to approach that area even faster, especially after seeing William, Farrah and Joe, three people who could be considered friends, standing beside him.

"Excuse me," she said, a curt and clearly feigned smile on her face as she nudged Liam just enough to have access to the burgers for long enough to put one on her plate. She had forced Kat to take a plate as well, and even though she knew the girl would probably complain later on, she placed a burger onto her plate, too. "Farrah, you should totally come sit with Kat and I," London said, in a slightly unusual act of welcoming someone who wasn't part of her clique, into it. Farrah was an A-lister, and that made her familiar territory, plus, she was going to be her roommate, so London decided that it was perfectly acceptable. Plus, she didn't want to just sit with Katherine, and she had spotted Esperanza a moment before, but with Kat's stepsister and Natalya, so she didn't want to deal with insisting that Esper sit with them, and have that lead to two people Kat despised joining as well.

"The options are limitless."
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Liam read Dytto's text message but didn't answer. That was done in part because he was annoyed, and knew that she wasn't the only girl he could have sex with, so he wasn't going to beg, and because a minute after he and Joe began chatting, Joe disappeared, and was replaced by Farrah and William. Their presence brought a more genuine smile to Liam's face, since they were people who he actually considered to be friends. Liam was friendly with many people who weren't A-listers, but like anyone who benefited from such a rigid social system, he knew better than to call many of those people actual friends. "Look who it is. The David Beckham wannabe, and the Dancing Queen. Took you two long enough to find me," he commented with a grin, as he continued to fill his plate. He allowed for a silent pause for a moment as he decided whether he wanted a soda or a water with his meal, but after opting for the latter, he turned back towards them. "So, what's been good with you two all summer? I'm surprised that I didn't run into either of you in the Hamptons." That was where Liam had spent a fair amount of time over the summer, and it wasn't out of the ordinary to have seen some classmates there, since the Hamptons seemed to be the playground of the rich and famous, during the summer months.

When London came over, Liam didn't even hide the fact that he was checking her out from behind. She had an attitude towards him, that much was clear, at least to him, who knew her well, but that was cool. He liked them feisty, and he was still positive that he would get her back within the first month of school. Plus, if for some reason that didn't happen, his second option would be her tall and gorgeous best friend that stood beside her. Since London made it clear that she only wanted to address Farrah, Liam didn't go out of his way to address her either, but he did look towards Will with a bit of a smirk. Later, when they were alone, he would fill him in on how easy he knew it was going to be to get London back in bed with him. For now, though, he just said, "Dude, you better start filling your plate before everything's gone."

"I know, I know, senior year is the time for me to have
'fun'... if only it was that easy."

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

"Hey Fred!" she said, her smile growing as the boy sat down beside her. Eloise was past the point of feeling weird about sitting along, but she wasn't going to refuse company, especially if it was someone who was as fun and sweet as Frederick was. "I'm good, what about you? What did you do this summer?" she asked, only before noticing that he didn't have a plate of food in front of him. She was already halfway through her own burger and wasn't going to stand for Fred missing out on the deliciousness that the barbecue was offered, even if it meant forcing him away for a few minutes to fill his plate. "Go make a plate! Maybe it's just because I haven't eaten all day, but the food is really good again this year." That in itself wasn't really surprising. Ellie wasn't a picky eater to begin with, but Crossroads also always seemed to be on top of making sure that the quality of their food was perfect. Considering the cost of tuition that so many students paid, that should have just been a given, though. Regardless, she was never disappointed with a meal she had on campus, whether it was at an event like this, or just an everyday meal at Waves.

Ellie wasn't close with Natalya, so she wasn't too knowledgeable on her annual gift-giving event, or else she would have questioned Fred on what he had gotten that year. She hoped that he was going to get food, so she probably wouldn't have had time to go into depth on how well he had moved in anyway, but regardless, Ellie appreciated how easy it was to just hang out with Fred. She was the kind of girl who was usually very quiet, preferring to listen over talk, but there were a handful of people who she felt comfortable enough after to really be herself around, and he was one of them.

While William was entertaining the nobody, Farrah decided to get herself a plate of food. She did not get so much since she was not all that hungry. The dancer needed to keep up her body shape anyway. If she ate too much then she would not be able to move the way she does. Finally Joe disappeared, so the dancer could now talk to her friends. Picking at her food, Liam addressed her and Will. She rolled her eyes at him playfully. Of course she was going to find him. He was one of her close friends, how could she not find him. He asked about their summer and Farrah was trying to think of something that didn't involve at her secret rendezvous with Nathan. "Too busy in Dominican Republic to visit the Hamptons." She said. That wasn't a lie. She did travel there during the summer.

Will might have known she was lying, but he did not say anything about it. That was an added brownie point for him. London and her right hand Katherine approached the food which Farrah and her friends seemed to be blocking. The dancer did her part and smiled at the Queen. Crossing her was not on her list of thing to do this senior year.

"Farrah, you should totally come sit with Kat and I,"

Farrah raised an eyebrow in sheer confusion. 1. London was being nice to her and Esperanza was not around. 2. She was invited her to join her and Katherine. Farrah did not have a problem with either of them, but they weren't close. London may be her roommate, but she wasn't expecting the two of them to be painting their toe nails together. And Katherine was just another situation all together. Liam and Will didn't seem to mind if Farrah joined them, so she shrugged and agreed. "See you two later." She said.

Following the royal towards a table, she sat so that she was sitting across from the both of them. "So how were your summers?" She asked politely.

William talked to Joe since Farrah was not going to. In fact she was probably going to refrain to talking to anyone that wasn't A-List. That made him chuckled internally. Even Liam was talking to Joe. But Miss Dancing Queen would never. Joe excused himself and his attention was on his best friend. Will smiled at the comment comparing him David Beckham. They were pretty similar. Foreign and great at soccer. Not an insult. More like a future aspiration. Liam asked about their summer and Farrah jumped at the chance to answer. William already knows what Farrah did this summer, but apparently he was going to be the only person that was going to know.

William was going to answer, but then London arrived. He caught Liam checking her out and managed to keep the laugh to himself. HE smiled politely at the Queen. She might have issues with Liam, but she was still nice and friends with the Brit. As expected she did not address Liam. Unexpectedly, she invited Farrah to sit with her and Katherine. Farrah was confused, but when to sit over there, leaving Will and Liam alone.

When they were far away enough, Liam spoke up again about the food. The Brit almost forgot. William piled his plate with food. His plane ride was long and he hasn't eaten. This would be his first meal and a very long time. He already knows its going to taste like heaven."Oh. My mum says hi." he said, after getting his food. William talks about his friends back home and they love all of them. His mother especially has been trying to get his friends to visit. "How was your summer?"

Frederick was more than ready to explain his summer, if he wasn't cut off by Eloise encouraging him to go and get a plate of food. He was so concerned with seeing his friends that he had almost forgotten how hungry he was. "I will be right back" He explained before getting up. He did a light job over to the food and glanced over at all of it. It all looked so good, but the food here always looked and tasted great. A lot of money went into this place, if the food was anything less of amazing there would be a riot. Frederick happily piled his plate high, eager to eat every last bit of it. He grabbed a can of soda before returning to the table.

He slid into the chair across from Eloise once more and smiled. "I really missed the food here." he said before taking his first bite. Just like he thought, the food here was perfect. "To answer your earlier questions, I just played video games and worked this summer." He said to her with a shrug. It's what he does every summer. Every once in a while he will be able to go on vacation, but he mostly works to make sure that he has money for the school year. Unlike the rich kids, he has to pay for his own stuff.

"What did you do this summer?" He asked, before going back to eating the food in front of him.
