Dalcaria, the land forged in Fire and Blood, who's motto "We Shall Not Be Conquered" has stood the test of time as much as the land itself, or the people themselves. For 15'000 years or more, this land has been at constant war, both with nations abroad, and monsters that lurk at home. From the prehistoric times, when dragons came to enslave and eradicate all living beings on Gardia, to the modern era of steam, industry, and empires.

Dalcaria is vast, and the planet of Gardia is even more so. Humans, demons, the animal folk of Lishunda, the tiny Orcish Confederacy, and even legends of sea people and elves. It's almost enough to make the leviathan's seem tame. In a world where magic and technology walk side by side, and you're as likely to see a sword and armor in battle as you are a gun, the biggest question a person like yourself might ask is; "How do I leave my mark on the world?"

Well like the legends of the sword Firebrand, it's going to take focus, practice, and sheer willpower. Dalcarius slaughtered the dragons, the Clarions conquered chaos, and James Airell toppled the tyrants. Your fate is yet to be determined, but a word of caution for you; history does not remember what you wanted, just what happened.

A character sheet, for those interested in putting something together:

Username:
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Race/Nationality/Species: (Talk to me if your character is a foreigner and/or isn't a human.)
Orientation:
Personality:

Rank: (political, military, social, financial. Dalcaria is a fairly free country when it comes to many things, including finances, so it's very easy to be very wealthy and not a nobleman or woman, just so you are aware. You also don't have to be of noble blood to be in the military or certain political aspects of the nation, and it is possible to "purchase" someone else's noble title, giving you the political power they may have had. Of course, the noble needs to be willing to sell it. Please do not include anything within these brackets when you are posting your own character, just give the rank.)

Occupation: (Job basically)
Education: (Kind of a last second thought on my part. XD Access to education isn't impossible, even for poorer persons and foreigners. Of course, being a rich Dalcarian noble doesn't exactly guarantee you had a good education either, it depends solely on what the character is like and what they had access to.)

Factions: (Groups you are or were working for or with, can include old groups that no longer exist. I'll give a rundown of the factions at some point soon as well.)

Religion/Philosophy: (Lack of religion, ie. Atheist or agnostic, is also accepted here.)
Political Ideals: (Optional. If your character supports one political group/idea or another, you can mention it here. Talk to me if you want to know a little about which sides you may want to choose.)

Biography:

Skills: (The stuff you're good at. This could be cooking, fighting, driving, or even something more brainy like chemistry if you like.)

Transportation: (Cars, horses, etc.)
Home: (Your house, city, and province that you live in for the most part. If you need names for places and descriptions of them, let me know and I'll give you a rundown)

Likes:
Dislikes:

Weapons:
Clothing/Armor:
Powers: (Magic and what have you)

Picture: (Of your character)
Appearance Description: (For when a picture isn't enough)
Theme Song: (Also optional?)

Side note: There's a big chance I haven't yet finished this Intro yet, so if it looks incomplete, don't be too fazed, I will complete it later.

Toggle Rules

1. This is my baby. Trying to mess with my lore without my permission is like trying to pierce my baby's ears with out my permission. You try interfering with my lore, without my permission, and your throat will become a drinking goblet. So ASK before you do something you don't know if you're allowed to do! NOTE: If you have any suggestions of things to add into the story or the world, PLEASE let me know! Some great ideas have come from other players, so I am definitely open to them!

2. Be respectful with each other. I don't have time for people to have needless and pointless feuds with each other, so treat each other like any rational person would.

3. Your character is not all powerful. Yes, I am bending probably many laws of nature to permit swords and guns to both be practical at the same time in history, but that does not mean you can leap 100 feet into the air and come down in a blaze of fiery glory, incinerating a thousand enemies around you. I COULD give you that ability if I choose to allow it, but don't expect your characters to be OP off the bat. Powerful yes, I'm good with permitting that, I've played enough DND to know some weird stuff can happen sometimes.

4. With the above portion in mind, keep in mind that in combat you should give the other player the opportunity to respond to an attack you make (assuming you get to that point). With that said, whoever is on the receiving end of a blow should respond reasonably, either taking some damage from a blow, or finding a way to deflect, etc. NOTE: Depending on how things go, I may implement some kind of "dice system" just to ensure fair play on everyone's part, just like in DND.

5. Third person past tense. That's probably the easiest way for everyone to immerse themselves in the story. I'm willing to look past this for those of you who actually struggle with this, but my hope is that no one should.

6. Post on a semi-regular basis. I'm approaching these roleplays like I approach DND, so I DO NOT expect posts on a daily basis, however I DO expect you to try for at least a couple times a week, and also to make an effort to collaborate with others in finding days and times that work for many of us to get together and push aspects of the story forward. I will obviously make exceptions for life events (including midterms and finals), but do try to keep in touch with me and the group.

7. Is my favorite number.

8. Have fun. I am mandating it. Your life will depend on it. But seriously, if you find at any point that things are a bit dry, I'm also open to suggestions. Hit me up and tell me a way I can make your roleplaying experience more fun!
