Talents
Albus inherited his father's talent for Defence Against The Dark Arts, taking to it immediately. It was a similar affair with Transfiguration, and within a few weeks, it was discovered that he had also inherited his grandmother's talents for potions. Outside of class, it was no surprise when he turned out to be an excellent dueller. And as for Quidditch, it was one thing he was almost guaranteed to be good at. He's also quite a good gamer when it comes to Muggle gaming.
Weaknesses
Albus is hopeless at Herbology. He kills practically every plant he touches. His sense of direction is terrible, and had he not had his brother James in his first year, he probably wouldn't have lasted the year. He's extremely nervous around every animal that isn't an owl or cat, and the animals frequently pick up on that and misbehave. Most of the time, he can flirt pretty damn well, but when he's around someone he likes, he becomes much more awkward.
Fears
Albus fears never being seen as his own person. It isn't much of a surprise, seeing as he comes from such a famous family, bearing the name of two influential wizards. But his fear is verging on irrational. He's also terrified of big, angry animals.

However, Albus also has a terrible sense of direction when he's not on a broomstick. Had it not been for James and the incredible number of family friends in the school in his first year, he wouldn't have survived the year. He can't function around people he's attracted to. He's the definition of painfully awkward on those occasions, to the point where it's almost tangible. He also has no control over any animal larger than a goldfish, and fears animals that are taller than his knees. Some say that his hipster thing is just to stand out, so he won't constantly be living in someone else's shadow- and they're not far from the truth. Albus will do almost anything to stand out, whether it's wearing merch from Muggle games or talking about some obscure band that literally nobody else will have heard of. He would much rather be, "that weird hipster kid" than "harry potter's kid."
But a few wise words from his father comforted him. And when he sat on the stool to be sorted, he realised that no matter where he ended up, he'd be loved by his family if nobody else did. The Sorting Hat really had a tough decision to make. Albus was loyal and hardworking, like a Hufflepuff, had brains like a Ravenclaw, was ambitious and just a little cunning like a Slytherin... But the Hat saw the bravery at his core and knew where he was to be placed. And so, Albus joined a long list of Potters in Gryffindor.
At first, he struggled to feel like he belonged. Everyone else just seemed loud and arrogant and unlike Albus. He found friends in the other houses and began to question why he was in Gryffindor. It was only when he ended up in a duel after somebody insulted one of his friends that he realised that he was in the house he belonged to. He still struggled with his sense of identity, especially as sexuality came into it, but he found himself becoming a part of Gryffindor, especially when he joined the Quidditch team in second year.
It took him until he was in fourth year to find who he was and wanted to be and accepted that. And Albus became Gryffindor's resident hipster kid. Once he realised that not all Gryffindors fit the stereotype- and indeed, very few did- he stopped trying to be. And now, Albus has never been happier.
