A kingdom of blood and fang -
Tyranny sublime, fear reaped
From vassal hearts and shuttered gaze,
The heavenβs bow upon my ring.
Solitary I now stand;
Castle on hallowed ground.
The wind echoed screams
Of men and faded brothers alike β
Enemy in life, friend in death,
Side by side they lie and
Decorate my lonely Reach.
Man comes still to my door,
Foolish humans gallop in earnest
To rush my gates in drones -
Each fall and nourish cursed soil
Beneath their feet.
I laugh at their echoed screech β by my hand slain
Broken and deranged by lofty pride
Corpses to covet eternal hunger,
Infamous stories of harrowed awe whispered
By lineages now sundered.
Upon my door,
Flaky reddish-brown ink mine victims provide,
To entomb my warning:
βCome, children of the sun,
Bring your chains and vanity,
Your purified crosses and scriptures,
Iβll bring my fangs and rage -
A gyrate of blood weβll share.

At first, the Underworld races laughed at their foolish attempt to upset the balance. Humans were weak, and foolish whelps. They could not stand up against the timeless vampires, the ferocious werewolves, withstand the nightmares or banish the illusions and glamour. Sure humans managed to kill some of them now and then but that was carelessness and arrogance on the part of the sublime creatures. How could the fragile dolls ever stand against the giants? And so, the human uprising was brushed aside like a mother swatting the hand of a child reaching for the cookie jar. But children grow and learn. The humans advanced beyond expectation.
One by one, the Underworld races began to thin out. First were the wise dragons. Then the Leviathans. Sirens, incubus/succubus, and wendigos seemed to vanish off the face of the planet. The balance was gone. What humans lacked in magical ability or strength, they made up for in technology. With the insatiable drive to conquer and be at the top of the food chain, humans developed advancements that would help them push back the creatures of the dark. They had new swords made of silver to combat the werewolves. Little gadgets that blast light to blind vampires, and now electrical devices that made the illusions and dreams of the nightmares as compelling as blank wall. The Underworld races were losing their edge. And still, nothing was done about the uprising. Still, the none humans thought they had the upper hand. But thing were only going to get much worse from here.
Vampires were next on the list. They were the oldest and the race the humans despised most. It was the vampires that prey on the humans for their supper. It was the vampires that really fueled the fire and drove the humans to start this war against the none-humans. And the humans knew how to shake the vampires. There were three vampires in particular that needed to be destroyed if they wanted to raze the blood-suckers; the royal family. They were the oldest bloodline and rumor had it that all vampires came from this esteemed group. And so, the humans set out after them. They knew where the vampires lived; they owned a castle that harbored the largest coven. And the vampires were holding a celebration. The prince had picked a human to turn into his bride. It was the perfect opportunity for the humans to get in considering the fact that the vampires were gathering a plethora of human hosts for their party.
After the royal prince turned his human, the bride was adapting to her new body and began to run the fields around the castle. That is when the humans struck. The newly turned bride was the first to die. The distraught prince went into a blood rage as the rest of the vampires followed suit. After a rather bloody fight, the humans had taken heavy losses before fleeing but they had accomplished in killing the King and queen. The only one left from the pure blood line was prince. Shaken by the devastation of their royal coven, the vampires fled the castle. The only one to remain was the prince. He refused to leave his castle and let the humans win. The rest of his kin abandoned him to whatever fate awaited him and scattered to the winds and began feeding on animals to keep away from the humans while they regained their strength. The prince fortified his castle with traps and for a time, he sat lonely vigil over the last bit of his territory until the advancement of man once again triumphed and the last heir to the vampire blood-line had been captured by the humans and was no subjected to experiments along with the other creatures the human abducted to further their advancements.
And here is where our story begins... with the vampires scattered and weak and the only remaining Underworld races fighting for survival. Shape Shifters, Vampires, werewolves, demons, necromancers, gorgons, and nightmares have become the worlds newest endangered species.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
The cell he was in seemed to actually be a fraction of a bit larger than most prison cells. Of course there was the other woman in the there with him. Lynae Zavia. Mephistopheles knew her, but if she knew who he was... Well that's an entirely different story. No doubt with her being a Nightmare she had to have heard of him, but knowing him by his face he had no idea. He knew how long she had been there with him about as well as he knew how long he had been in that hell hole.
Still... The cell seemed even large for just the two of them. There were other Underworld species scattered around the giant facility they were entrapped in. Mephistopheles had heard them or seen guards occasionally walking them past their cell. It seemed as though they were trying to prove a point to the other prisoners... Show their power because they captured 2 of the most powerful and influential of the Underworld species.
Mephistopheles had rather simple binds compared to some of the others he had seen. Like the most basic of prisoners, his wrists and ankles were bound in shackles. But of course they could not be steal or iron. That'd be too simple for someone like him to escape. Instead it was Dark Metal. One thing he had to give these idiotic hunters was they knew how to properly entrap them. The Dark Metal burns the flesh after a decent enough amount of time, plus with that around his hand and feet he wouldn't be escaping using powers of any kind... Unless he had unrelenting brute force. Which he didn't.
Since he had arrived, they had tried torturing Mephistopheles for whatever information they could get out of him. But he was good... Better than they had expected and he didn't crack. So eventually that winded him up here, with this Nightmare. Maybe they thought the seclusion would break him? Or eventually he'd go crazy trapped in a cell unable to escape or do anything besides conversing with a single soul. But really... He spent most of his time whistling annoying mundane songs and jingling his shackles for a beat.
It was going to take a lot more to crack him. And Mephistopheles was used to being alone for years on end... It's not like they can out live him. So it was a matter of patience and waiting. Sure it wasn't entertaining, well at least it wasn't until the hunters arrived at their cell, cutting him off mid whistle. "Morning gents. Finally coming to your senses and letting me go I see."
He adjusted himself, dusting off his jacket and getting ready to stand. The hunter that stood at the gate preparing to open it pulled out a baton taser, most likely infused with some sort of Dark Metal alloy. "Move a fucking muscle and I'll send you to your master in pieces."
Mephistopheles put up his hands in surrender. "Where am I going to go?" He jingled the chains of the shackles. Moron Now... If the Hunter happened to come too close to him, he'd trip the man, choke the life out of him or beat his skull in to get his key. But that was a fat chance. Especially when 2 more hunters came into view before their cell carrying a large metal box between them.
The man that was closest to the cell door slid his baton back through his belt loop before fishing for his keys in his pockets. "If either one of you moves a muscle while this door is open you will get no mercy or warning... Just a Dark Metal blade through the heart. Kapeesh?" He raised his brows, looking towards them both waiting for a response.
Mephistopheles rolled his eyes while sighing. He then raised his right hand to cross his heart. He didn't know if he was in the mood to argue, more just curious as to what was in the large box. It no doubt was heavy if it took 2 men to carry it with 2 poles along parallel sides to help evenly distribute the weight. The threatening hunter unlocked the cell door, holding it open for the men to carry in the large box. Mephistopheles didn't have to touch it to know it was Dark Metal. It always had a very unique onyx and crimson tint to it, plus it always seemed to radiant at least in his eyes. Just being around it for too long made him and many Underworld species weak.
"Is there someone in there?" He watched them set the box down rather forcefully.
"That's none of your concern." One of the men said as they exited the cell and relocked the door.
"They won't be able to breathe." Mephistopheles' brows furrowed. Sure he generally didn't care about the well being of anyone. But if there was another supernatural in there, those weren't ideal circumstances to keep it alive.
"Isn't that a shame." The one with the keys responded coldly before walking away and leaving them with the metal box.

Drusilla had just been walking through the city like normal. She generally went out at night because it was easier for many of the supernaturals to travel in the evening. But that also meant more hunters were out as well. On the busier nights, she always went out in the open to draw hunters away from where the bigger populations of her pack resided. Most knew who she was so it wasn't that difficult. Then she'd lead them into whatever sort of trap her and her best warriors had devised. It was messy, and didn't kill many of them. But slowly it made a dent in the hunter's numbers as recompense for all the lives they had been taking since the tipping of the scales.
The plan was the same as every other night. And at the time everything seemed to be going accordingly. Drusilla knew there was at least 3-4 hunters following her. So she lead them right to the belly of the beast... Or so she thought.
As she turned down the alleyway, Drusilla came to a stop seeing the bodies of her pack members held with silver and Dark Metal held to their throats at the hands of several Hunters. She quickly pivoted where she heard the crunch of gravel behind her. Dru put up her left hand to stop a Dark Metal blade being swung right at her. But stopping it meant the metal slid threw her palm causing blood to run down her wrist and forearm. She gritted her teeth but did not scream out.
With the blade in her hand, Drusilla slammed her hand into the throat of one hunter. As she drained the life from them, their blood mixing with hers as it ran down her arm, another hunter slammed an elbow into her jaw and a foot into the back of her knee sending her to the ground. He grabbed her left arm with the blade still lodged in her hand and twisted it back behind her, while holding his foot to her calf as to keep her on her knees.
The remaining hunter pulled out a blade, placing the tip under her chin to raise her head. "Touch another one of my men and I'll slaughter each of your men before your eyes, then rape you in a pool of their blood."
Drusilla felt a growl rumbling in her throat. She wanted to fight back but she couldn't risk anyone in her pack's life. She flared her nostrils before spitting in the man's face.
"Bitch!" He pulled back his hand before slamming the butt of his knife into her head and knocking her out.
When Drusilla came too she was engulfed in darkness. She could not see 2 inches before her face in any direction. She reached her hand out in front of her only for it to be stopped by a cold piece of metal before her. Dark Metal didn't burn her like others due to the enchantment on her but she could still feel its warmth which caused her to gasp.
Dru began to panic, putting her hands out on either side of her only to be stopped by the same sensation. As the realization of her confined quarters, her heart rate began to rise as she started to panic. Her hands start furiously slamming against the walls of the box trying to find a weak point or something.
She knew why they did it... Drusilla wasn't stupid. They knew she was a shifter. She could change into an ant or anything small enough for her to get out of shackles or a cell. But a Dark Metal box was cruel. It was tugging at the pit of her stomach. She hated confined spaces and it seemed the more she beat on the walls the more she freaked out.
Dru was practically hyperventilating when she heard a voice from outside the box shout towards her. It was muffled from the metal absorbing a majority of the sound waves. "Wh-what?" She tried to calm herself while pressing her ear to the side of the box.
"If you don't calm down you're going to use up what little oxygen you have twice as fast." Mephistopheles shouted a second time towards the person inside the box.
Giving up, Dru slammed her head back against the wall of the box behind her, bringing her hands to her face as she tried to calm down. She was right... She was in a box... Sealed in a metal box with barely a couple hours worth of oxygen left inside...
These were the words that one could describe this prison that Lynae found herself in. It smelled like shit and though there were no windows in the cell, she could feel the chilled breeze that wafted through the cells thanks to the various cracks, openings and the main access door that was often thrust open to drag more unfortunate souls through the filthy stones. Some of those Underworlders would look at her and the resident of her cell with horror; others would reach for them begging for aid. She never understood that one. How could they help them when they were in cells to? She did feel bad for them but she was happy to see that there was only one other nightmare that had been dragged down here; the one that had been captured with her. The others were safe and hopefully far away from these greedy humans.
Lynae herself didn't appear in her former glory. Her hair was a disheveled mess around her face and the color had faded back to black though the highlights and red dye near her tips made it look more like blood clinging to her hair rather than a hair color. Her pale skin was marred with dirt and brown thanks to actual dried blood and her dress was torn in various places. These humans really didn't know how to treat a lady down here. They would pay. Eventually. She'd find a way into their heads and then they would rue the day they ever dared raise a hand against her and her kin.
Lynae lifted her head when she heard the snide guard at their door barking orders and being a general annoyance to her companion Mephistopheles. She didn't know why Mephistopheles even conversed with them. It was a circular conversation. They would get no where with talking to them. All they knew how to do was yip like dogs. Even those with honeycomb words weren't worth speaking to. They thought they were so clever. Maybe towards those inexperienced they were great charmers, but Lynae knew better. She sighed and shook her head. Their banter was at least better to listen to then that annoying drip down the hall.
The Nightmare closed her eyes and was content to try and go back to sleep though it was rather hard to get much rest considering the awful chains on her wrists and her ankles. That is when she heard the door open again and the grunt of men struggling with a load. She peeked an eye open and saw four guards coming to their cell with a box. Her interest was immediately peeked. What was in the box? Was it another torture or was someone in the box? Mephistopheles beat her to the punch and asked the guards what was in the box. Of course, the humans didn't answer but it wasn't long before they got their answer. Someone inside started to move around. Lynae tensed as she sat up. They put her in a box? She wouldn't be able to breathe! Why even capture this creature if the end goal was to kill it? Just kill her and be done with it!
"Remain as calm as you can, dear. The slower your breaths, the more oxygen you'll have, just like Mephistopheles said," she cooed to the poor girl. How were they going to help her? She and Mephistopheles were tied up against the wall. They could not reach the box to try and unlock it. She hated to think that the creature inside would have to suffocate. It was such a sad way to go. Just like when the vampires burned or when creatures had body parts removed. These humans really came up with some horrible things. She had never known and Underworlder as creative in torture and death as the humans.
The person inside the box wasn't their only new cell mate however. The door to the dungeon was opened once more and Lynae could hear someone being dragged? Or maybe the person was tumbling down the stairs... regardless, chains were rattling and she could hear a muffled growl as well as humans shouting at each other. Now what was going on? Lynae peered out between the bars as the rude guard opened the cell doors once more. The group of five humans were surrounding an individual who was thrashing in the chains. The vampire was considerably weakened by the Dark Matter imbued in the chains and if the color of his eyes and the paleness of his skin, he was starving to.
The vampire tried to hiss at the humans but he couldn't do much with the bit in his mouth, his fangs extended around the cloth. His robe and crown had been removed and though the rest of his clothing was blood smeared and ripped, there was no mistaking the richness of the cloth. Even trapped, Dacre didn't want to give up the fight and so he yanked at the chains and made the humans job as difficult as he could. Eventually however, the humans managed to slam the pure-blood against the wall and used the chains already on his wrist to connect his hands against the wall above his head. Two humans on each leg then had the ask of getting his legs chained. That ended with one of them getting a good knee to the face and the other getting a kick between the legs. Finally, Dacre was chained to the wall and one of the humans cut the bit out of the vampire's mouth none too gently and resulted in a nice slash on the vampire's cheek. Once the bit was removed, Dacre hissed and clicked his fangs at the humans but he could not reach them.
"Son of a bitch," one of the guards grumbled and touched his swollen eye and sliced lip. "More trouble than you are worth," he continued as he headed out of the cell.
Dacre glared daggers as the retreating humans and continued to growl like a royally pissed off panther. With the humans gone, Dacre turned his gaze to the two other occupants in the room and then the box. He did not recognize either of the two cell mates but he could tell they were Underworlders. Dacre tested the bonds and growled in annoyance. Well, this was going to be fun. Time to get to know potential alleys.
"Hello," he answered a little gruffly thanks to all the growling and strain he had done to it earlier. He cleared his throat before he continued, "I am Dacre Andras. And who might the two of you be?"
"I am Lynae. And really, there are three of us beside you. There is someone in the box."
"There is someone in the box?" Dacre asked a bit surprised.
"Yes."
Well that sucked for the person inside the box. At least Dacre was out in the open. He didn't sense see any holes for breathing. He wondered how long the person had left before her oxygen ran out. They needed to find a way out of this. They were all pretty far apart. So they couldn't utilize each other. The shackles were very tight on his wrists so there was no way he could just yank his hands out without loosing the limbs. He could regrow missing limbs but... he didn't have enough energy for that and he was sure the guards would notice. This wasn't looking good. It seemed the best time to get out was when one of them was being taken out of the cell. He glanced at the guard beside the door. He could be useful. He couldn't really tell the others his plan since the human would hear but he'd find a way to relate the messages.
Mephistopheles looked between Lynae and the box as she spoke almost hypnotically. He then spoke quietly, only loud enough for his cellmate outside of the box to hear, "...How calm can someone actually be when they only have a handful of hours left?" It was more of a rhetorical question. If he was in there or some of the others Underworld species, they could survive. Most don't need oxygen because they aren't alive. But the way this one was reacting... No doubt she needed oxygen to live.
Clearing his throat, Mephistopheles spoke up loud enough for the box's occupant to hear, "Feel around... Are there any seems? Cracks? Anything?" He thought it was pointless convincing the girl to have hope of escaping, but sometimes false hope is necessary.
After taking a decent enough amount of time to get as level headed as possible, Dru began to slowly drag her hands along all the walls and edges of the box. When her fingers tips found the inter corners of the box and as she traced them, a soft sigh escaped her lips. Nothing. Not a crack in the seal, a small gust of air or anything. She didn't want to waste a single breath on speech, so instead she raised her finger and tapped along the metal side. -. --- - .... .. -. --.
Mephistopheles leaned as close tot he box as possible, tilting his head slightly when he heard the taps. To his benefit, he knew morse code. Smart girl. "Well the girl is no idiot," He looked towards Lynae, "Using morse code... It's smart. But she said there is nothing."
Before he could speak again, the cell door opened once again bring in a new cellmate. It took five guards to control the thrashing vampire even in his weakened state. It took a lot of work for the hunters to slam the vampire against the wall and chain him up like himself and Lynae with Dark Metal.
Drusilla shifted in her box to press her ear to the box once again as she heard the cell doors open and what she assumed to be a struggle. She wanted to bang on the walls of the box, make a commotion and maybe, just maybe get the hunter to crack the seal or just kill her. Either would be better than suffocating to death. But once the scuffle was over, she heard them all leave once again. Dru let her eyes fall shut while resting her head against the cold metal wall. It was upsetting... She always had through she'd go out with a bang in the middle of battle or doing something heroic. Not in a box, held captive by pathetic humans.
The new occupant tested his binds on the wall which only made Mephistopheles chuckle slightly. They all weren't going anywhere. Unfortunately for them all, the humans are learning. Which is bad news for all of them.
"Hello," The vampire cleared his throat before continuing, "I am Dacre Andras. And who might the two of you be?" Mephistopheles thought the man looked vaguely familiar and once he said his name, he began to connect the dots.
"I am Lynae. And really, there are three of us beside you. There is someone in the box."
"There is someone in the box?" Dacre seemed surprised, which was called for. It was inhumane.
"Yes."
Drusilla had been listening the entire time. She was also simultaneously running through ideas in her head as to how she could escape. The only idea that seemed anything close to a solution would be shifting into a Rhino... But that could have one of two outcomes. Either she would break the box or the box would break her, and she didn't like those odds. As she listened to the exchange of names, Dacre Andras rang a bell. She had heard of him like most supers heard about the more powerful of the Underworld.
"Well... I'm Mephistopheles." He attempted to bow as elegantly as possible when chained to a wall.
Dru was contemplating if she should divulge her name or not. Would it matter if she was dead in a hour or two? Would they even care? Either way, after a moment or two of deliberation she began to tap on the box once again. -.. .-. ..- ... .. .-.. .-.. .- / --. .-. .. -- --
Mephistopheles finally connecting all the dots, sighing as his head dropped. "Of course," He said under his breath. "... That's Drusilla Grimm." He motioned his head towards the box. After a moment or two, he raised his hand to rub his brows. "...They are collecting the leaders and most powerful of each species."

Dacre shook his head to get his mind out of that particular juicy fantasy. Before he could devise ways of torturing whoever was in charge, he needed to come up with a plan to get them all out of here. He didn't think he would be able to release every single person in all of the cages here, but he was going to try and get as many people out as he could. Especially everyone in this cell. These people were going to be a huge asset in the long run and they needed to be free to lead their species against these little brats. That was all these humans were really. Little brats trying to play with the big boys and act like the masters in this situation.
The vampire turned his gaze to the human guard standing outside of the cell. He strained his hearing and he didn't hear anyone else. It looked like the other guards were either outside of this direct area or were much farther down and would not come running right away. That was good. Now he needed to get the guy to look at him. He was a bit far away, but with direct eye contact, Dacre would be able to ensnare him. He was sure that the humans did not know about this nice little trick. The other vampires didn't have mind control unless they were actively touching their prey. He had the added perk of being of royal blood. He rolled his head a little as he thought of a way to get at the guy. A good insult always got people to at least look over at the perpetrator. If that failed, maybe he could get Mephistopheles or Lynae to throw a rock or something.
"Hey, Mr. Stick-up-your-ass. You know why vampires call humans cattle? It is because you are slow, fat, and stupid. With that baton you've got there, you've completed your look. You're a steak on a stick." Okay... so not the greatest insult in the world. He just hoped the tirade would eventually get the guy to turn around. He saw the human scoffing and rolling his eyes.
"Shut up you fucking blood-sucker."
"ooh. Is that supposed to make me quake in my boots? Come on, you can do better than that. You've got the mean ol' blood-sucker tied up and that is all you've for me?"
"Shut up your damn mouth or you'll regret it," chubby growled. The guard had taken his baton out and was smacking it against his palm in agitation at being baited.
"Aw, is the piglet getting angry? What are you going to do, oink at me?"
Lynae for her part was watching the exchange with narrowed eyes. It was obvious to her that the vampire was trying to bait the guard into doing something. What was he planning? She slowly folded her legs beneath her and rested her hands in her lap in case she needed to spring up for whatever reason. She couldn't go far thanks to the chains but she did have a little more leeway that Dacre or the poor dear in the box.
The human's grip tightened on his baton before he turned around, going for the keys at his belt. "You smart mouthed son of a bitch! I am going to teach you a lesson!" the human answered.
"Oh please do," Dacre grinned as the human slammed the cage door shut and sauntered over to him. As soon as the human looked up, Dacre locked their gaze. Instantly his eyes flashed a golden hue. The human shuddered a moment as he tried to resist but he could not resist Dacre. "Good. You are such a good piglet. All right. Now, I want you to unlock my chains," he purred. The human hesitated before he pulled out a new set of keys and unlocked the vampire from the wall. Dacre gave a sigh of relief and rolled his shoulders. "Okay. Now, give me Lynae and Mephistopheles's keys and then I want you to unlock the box, all right?"
The human gave a nod as he dumbly handed over the keys before he walked over to the box in a daze. Dacre was grinning ear to ear as he walked over to the other two in the cell. "I've been here for 5 minutes and found a way out. How long have you two been here?" he teased.
Lynae rolled her eyes as Dacre rushed over to her companion and rubbed her wrist and ankles. "How charming. Now we need to find a way back out of here. We need to release the others as well. I can make my nightmares but I am considerably weaker thanks to being chained up for so long. Did either of you see a way out while being dragged down here?"
"No. I was too busy fighting the humans holding me." Dacre finished releasing Mephistopheles and turned to the human as the box was finally opened. There. Now everyone had a chance to breathe and think. "I can't do this trick with all of the humans coming at us. I need direct eye contact and can only do one at a time. They aren't vampires."
Mephistopheles raised a brow while stifling back a chuckle at the poor insult. He didn't know if he should be concerned with the vampires growing need to get the guards attention or be entertained.
"Shut up you fucking blood-sucker."
Mephistopheles snorted at that one. "I don't know who sounds less intelligent... The guard or Dacre." He spared a glance in Lynae's direction as he made the sarcastic remark under his breath. After all he didn't want to ruin whatever the man had planned.
"Ooh. Is that supposed to make me quake in my boots? Come on, you can do better than that. You've got the mean ol' blood-sucker tied up and that is all you've for me?"
"Shut up your damn mouth or you'll regret it." The guard smacked his baton against his palm.
Mephistopheles chuckled. He could see what the vampire was doing and he applauded him for it. He even decided to through in his own two sense as well. "Because that's terrifying."
"Aw, is the piglet getting angry? What are you going to do, oink at me?"
"You smart mouthed son of a bitch! I am going to teach you a lesson!" The guard began unlocking the door to the cell.
"Oh please do." The guard made his way over to Dacre but the second the man's gaze met the vampires his entire demeanor changed. "Good. You are such a good piglet. All right. Now, I want you to unlock my chains." Mephistopheles cocked his head to the side out of curiosity. Maybe the vampire did know what he was doing. He watched with intently as the guard released Dacre from his binds. "Okay. Now, give me Lynae and Mephistopheles's keys and then I want you to unlock the box, all right?"
Drusilla could barely make out what was going on outside of the box. She tried pressing her ear against the wall as much as she could to try and hear the conversations taking place. A soft gasp escape her lips when she heard the cell door open. She placed her hand against the cool metal. It was cruel. A exit right there but this damned metal separated her from it.
After the guard handed over the keys and made his way to the box Dacre spot up with laced sarcasm. "I've been here for 5 minutes and found a way out. How long have you two been here?"
Mephistopheles squinted towards the man. "Don't get cheeky boy." He waited patiently as he released Lynae. "If you could do that the entire time... Why in the hell did you wait until now?"
"How charming. Now we need to find a way back out of here. We need to release the others as well. I can make my nightmares but I am considerably weaker thanks to being chained up for so long. Did either of you see a way out while being dragged down here?"
"No. I was too busy fighting the humans holding me." Mephistopheles let out a sigh of relief when Dacre released him from the chains. "I can't do this trick with all of the humans coming at us. I need direct eye contact and can only do one at a time. They aren't vampires."
Drusilla slunk back as far as she could in the box when she heard someone tinkering with what she assumed to be the latch on the metal prison. It was as simple as the removing of a pin. The lid was lifted and sides collapsed. Without a seconds thought Dru shot up, balling her fist and slamming it in the jaw of the man who released her. Her steps were a little unstable but she still had the fire in her eyes as she stepped out towards the guard. "Son," She punched him in the nose. "Of," Her hands grasped his shoulders as she slammed her knee into his gut. "A bitch!!!" Dru grabbed either side of his head, twisting it around as she snapped his neck.
She stood their trying to catch her breath now that she was to breathe as the lifeless body collapsed to the ground. Dru kicked the corpse once more for good measure before she finally looked around and took in everyone around her. "...Sorry." She raised her hand to scratch her head. "I probably shouldn't have done that." She pursed her lips, tapping the guard's foot with her own.
Mephistopheles was going to say something in regards to whatever Lynae and Dacre were discussing but he was distracting by the violent entrance of the alpha. "Good show my dear." He clapped half heartedly. "That was our safest way out."
Dru looked down at the guard then up at the man addressing her. "Why? Because he's a guard?... We could just put him in the box." She motioned over her shoulder towards her previous prison. "You know I could just... shift into him right?" She said that in a way like they all already knew that and simply forgot.

"Why? Because he's a guard?... We could just put him in the box. You know I could just... shift into him right?"
Dacre chuckled as he hefted the guard and tossed him into the box and took the keys from him. He twirled the ring on his index finger and looked over at the other three. "I didn't forget. I was going to use him as a distraction while we got everyone else out, but he was just a grunt. Ah well. Now, there are some vampires locked up here. I will give their minds a bit of a tap and once I let one of them out, they'll help with opening up the cells." He cracked his knuckles as he debated their next move.
"As far as we know, there is only one way out and that is up the stairs where the humans will be waiting. Lynae, you've got your nightmares but will that affect the humans up there?"
Lynae shrugged. "It may or may not work. If the humans have used that infernal medication to block out the illusion, then no, it will not do any good. I do not think all of them have taken that dose though."
"Too risky to try and do that then. I don't want you getting recaptured." Lynae already looked wobbly. He could see she had tucked two of her wings behind her but when she moved, she looked very unsteady and if the old wounds on her back were any indication, she had a set of wings that were ripped out. If the illusions didn't work and the guards came after them, Lynae would be the first to go down. He tapped his lips for a moment thinking. "Then how about this? Drue, right? Dru and I will open up the cells and grandpa and Lynae can find an alternative route," Dacre concluded with a smirk. Mephistopheles did call him 'boy' after all. If he was going to introduce that lingo, he was going to call him grandpa.
Lynae rolled her eyes at the vampire as she moved past him and out of the cell. Oh it was so good to walk past that door. She looked up at the stairs a little worried that someone would come down stairs at any moment and then they'd all be back in the cage again. Her bare feet stepped lightly over the frigid coble stones that made up the dungeon floor. Her hands and wings spread out to either side of her as she walked and probably took up most of the hallway. She stumbled and was indeed wobbly but she was making slow progress. Those still locked up immediately perked up when they saw her free. They wanted to be free to. Would she help them? She didn't spare them much of a look. Dae and Drue would help them out after all. And she had to find a way out otherwise there was no escape anyway.
Lynae made it to the end of the main hall and plastered herself against the wall to peer over the edge. Down the second hallway she saw two guards playing chess. One of them had his back to her so she couldn't use any illusions on him but the other was facing her direction. If she stepped into his line of sight, he'd look up and she'd get her eye contact. Unfortunately there was no way to tell if he had injected himself with that block or not. She glanced around trying to figure out how they were going to get past the guards and her gaze settled on a werewolf chained in the cell beside the guards.
The young thing was staring in her direction but he wasn't looking at her. She lowered to her knees and waved her hand a bit to get its attention. He blinked and looked up at her face and frowned in his confusion at seeing her. It didn't last long. Lynae tapped into her power and with his eye contact, she was able to glean his deepest fear. She felt bad she was going to use him for this, but they didn't have much of a choice. She glanced at Mephistopheles then. "When the guards are distracted, you rush them and knock them or something. Just get them out of commission," she said before she directed her attention back to the other prisoner who had sat up at this point. She could tell he was trying to figure out what her appearance meant. Then in a flash, she enveloped the other creature in the tendrils of nightmares and she watched as the curious and confused expression on the werewolf's face morphed into one of horror. The creature screamed and he shuffled backward trying to get away from the torture he was envisioning but the chains wouldn't allow him much space to move.
"No! no! no! Stay back!" he cried and thrashed in his bounds. The two guards had both jumped in their seats at his sudden screech. They hollered at him to shut up but he wouldn't. The werewolf let out another screech in fright and imagined pain and the guards banged on the cell door with their batons but the werewolf was too far into his own mind to pay any heed to that. He was starting to writhe as if he were having a seizure at that point. The guards got up from their seat and both had their backs towards her and Mephistopheles. One of them had entered the cage to try and physically restrain the werewolf. Lynae turned to Mephistopheles. "That is you cue," he instructed him.
