In the beginning Alindor was naught but an empty Void between the Realms.

Most Otherworldy deities simply went about their ways, not paying attention to the neighbouring lack of Being, it not being under their purview after all. But under the loving touch of a mere handful of young deities, who later simply became known as the First Gods to the Alindori, a realm slowly began to take shape.

Rhoxaia was a Goddess of Earth, Harvest and Fertility, but too young, too inexperienced to create the element from nothing. She researched other ways, and found one, albeit a bit cheekily.

If there is no Earth, why not simply take it from those worlds long lost to time?

And thus she created herself a field in which to sow her seeds of inspiration.

But, as the lifespan of the source worlds of this soil had long since passed, it appeared it could not be the nurturing bossom from which her world would spring. It was Selene, a Deity of the Moon and the cycle of life, and a good friend of hers, who turned out to have the answer.

Tis true there is neither life nor death left in this soil, but isn't that simply a matter of restoring the energy lost to Entropy?

And thus, under watchful eyes, the great cycle started anew.

Kovani and Suresi were twin deities, the first holding dominion over Fire, and the second over water. Rather than have their opposing natures clash however, they worked perfectly in synch. One day Suresi decided to barge in on this project, starting to help. Kovani ofcourse, remained by his side throughout it all.

Eh, this looks interesting enough, what do you think Kovani?

And thus, the waters sprang forth and the light ignited in the sky, illuminating all.

The last to join this ragtag bunch was a Goddess of Magic, Souls and the Mind. Lilith was her name, and much like Suresi, she just settled and never left.

When your Creations are ready, simply tell me, so that any whom you choose to bless may reach enlightenment too.

And thus, at last, the stage was set...

That is how it started countless years ago, but throughout the passing millennia much information about the First Gods were lost, especially when they seemingly withdrew themselves from the world over time.

Until, slowly but surely, only faint traces of their existence remained.

Skip to the present day, when it has become painfully obvious to many of it's inhabitants that Alindor is a doomed realm. In the short reprieves in the war against the demons, infighting, corruption and other such strife run rampant. The Miasma infesting this world is destroying the lands of all races, regardless of alignment, causing the lesser Gods to fade one by one, disturbing the precarious balance of the world even further.

In a last-ditch effort to save the Realm from itself, many came together, toiling to make their pleas known to whichever of the Greater Gods remaining might listen.

They knew that all their efforts would amount to only a few moments of contact with the Higher Realms, that their cries had a large chance of going either unnoticed or possibly ignored by whichever capricious God they might reach. But at least...

At least they would have tried.

But it soon became apparent the ritual seemed to have failed. Instead of calling out to the Gods for aide, it summoned five humans. Adults, yet by most standards only barely so. Some entertained the thought that these mortals were send by the Gods in their stead, to save this world when they could not for whichever reason. Others were beyond such foolish hopes, but nevertheless didn't take it out on these young ones, feeling guilty that the five were now as doomed as they themselves were.

Little did either the summoners know or the summoned realize, how very close they were to their original goal.
