Name: Oscar Stephen Everett
Age: Thirty-one
Gender: Male
Role: The Teacher

|| Appearance ||
Oscar stands at an even six feet and weighs in at a slightly below average one hundred and fifty pounds. His hair is slightly wavy and comes in as a nice strawberry blonde. His jaw is quite strong, squarish in structure, and one can easily see the muscles that tense when he clenches his jaw. His brow is defined, and his eyes have a bit of a puppy dog-like shape to them. He dresses often in cardigans or sweaters over his dress shirt in the colder months or rolls up the sleeves of his shirts in the summer. When not working, his attire consists of button-up shirts and jeans or cargo shorts depending upon the weather. Overall, his outfits are refined enough to make him look well-dressed but are also casual enough to make him appear down to Earth.
|| Personality ||
Overall, Oscar is a man of few words. It isn't that he dislikes interaction, for, in fact, he most certainly enjoys being around others. Rather, he has never found public speaking to be one of his strengths. Perhaps he should have considered that when he went into teaching, but it's far too late for that now. Despite being quite an attractive looking man, he also exudes an air of nervousness. Thus, he often only acts when he has fully considered the situation and hardly flies into the fray unprovoked. He would much rather listen quietly than take action, a thinker rather than a doer. That being said, to compensate for his lack of self-confidence, he is extremely intelligent. He possesses a level of creativity and quick-thinking that few do. Oscar, perhaps surprisingly, also happens to be a very determined individual who, at this point in time, is pushing himself to work on writing projects so that, hopefully, he can move up in the world, finding work as an author rather than a teacher.

|| History ||
Oscar was born in Boston, Massachusetts to elementary school teachers. For the first few years of his life, Oscar was shipped back and forth between his grandparents' houses and then, when he was old enough, day care centers. This constant moving around made it a bit difficult for him to bond with any of these people in his early life, so he became sort of introverted, preferring to keep to himself. Certainly, when he had to, he would interact with his peers or his parents, but he always found it a bit difficult to bond with any of them. This became more evident when his father filed for a divorce and moved with Oscar to Virginia.
Here, he found himself even more out of place as a child with strong traces of a Boston accent among Southern drawls. He pulled himself away further, finding solace instead in his father's collection of literature. It didn't help either that he often spent the summers with his mother, taking away a child's most important bonding time with their peers. In high school, he was often the recipient of bullying, but he did manage to find an escape in the school's newspaper. Following this passion, he graduated high school and attended Duke University for a degree in English.
For a while, he worked in journalism, and he thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was hardly the rewarding process the school newspaper had been. He picked up work at a local high school as the advisor to the school newspaper. Deciding that he enjoyed this far more, he ended up going back to school for his master's at Ohio State University. When it came time to finding work, Magnolia High School was not too far away.
Here, he continued his reclusive life, only opening up when he really had to. Then he met her. He knew he shouldn't have felt anything more for Sophia than he did for any other student, but there was something charming about the girl that he immediately latched on to. He kept his interactions as normal as possible, however, struggling yet succeeding to not let on his feelings for her.
But then she came into his classroom, crying and asking for his help. Oscar tried to kept himself impersonal, again, but that simply can not go hand in hand with comforting a person. He found himself moving closer to her until, without thinking, he kissed her. Their relationship blossomed after that, becoming something both beautiful and dangerous. Oscar has tried to make everything seem as normal as possible, waiting desperately until they can one day express their affections openly, but he has also become far more paranoid, unsure when his life may come crashing down around him.
