Personality: General Ashbury is loyal to her homeland of Haven first and foremost, but not fanatically so. She does what she thinks is best for her country, and is willing to disobey orders from her superiors if she doesn’t agree with them. She has a strong sense of justice, and is quite cool-headed… most of the time.
Equipment & Abilities: When it comes to physical abilities, Ashbury has much training in both firearms and hand-to-hand combat. She also possesses a keen, tactical mind that’s produced many winning strategies in battle.
History: The latest in the Ashbury lineage, a family known for its long history of military service in Haven, Maven Ashbury was put in training by her father for her current position as one of Haven’s top generals for most of her life. Loved by many of her soldiers, Ashbury inherited her father’s love for Haven and sense of duty towards it, and now protects her home with everything she’s got.

General Maven Ashbury's Story

Meanwhile, the factory where Haven's nuclear missiles and nanite troopers were being constructed has undergone a startling transformation into a military command center. Soldiers rush around a room full of computers, checking over strategies, wind directions, nanite trooper and missile status, and other military shit. In the center of it all stands General Ashbury herself.
"General, incoming call from Senator Uldrich!" shouts one of the soldiers at a computer.
"On screen." replies Ashbury bluntly.
Uldrich's face does indeed appear on the largest screen in the room.
"General, it's time." frowns Uldrich. "After the blunder that was this morning's executions, we need to save some face. And what better way than beginning this little war? Send the first missile at--"
"Actually, sir, we have a problem." interrupts Ashbury. "As far as we can tell, Coronach's mages have put up a force field around the entire continent. Nothing or no one can get in or out... and that includes our nuclear missiles and nanite troopers."
"Dammit!" snarls Uldrich. "Isn't there anything we can do?!"
"I am afraid not, sir." remarks Ninjacker suddenly, sitting at one of the computers himself. "I've analyzed every inch of that forcefield, and it's virtually impregnable. All we can do is wait for them to put it down... or at least a part of it down."
"Very well then. If even an inch of that forcefield vanishes at any point, send in the nanite troopers. They'll be able to take the rest of the field down from the inside, I'm sure, and leave it wide open for our missiles! So get them mobilized and ready for deployment immediately. I'll hopefully be at the command center soon... traffic is a mess right now. Uldrich out!"
The huge screen flickers off, and Ashbury begins sending out the orders for the nanite troopers to get ready... just in case.

"Already...?" questions Ninjacker. "How fortunate for us. General, their force field is flickering! Scans show it's the weakest above Bacaina Shrine!"
"Send orders to the nanite troopers!" barks Ashbury. "They are to head into Coronach airspace immediately, and set up camp at Bacaina Shrine! GO GO GO!"
Several military planes take off from Sanctuary a few moments later, heading for Coronach...

The two end up right in front of the factory, which is surrounded by dozens of guards who look at the two. Inside...
"Oh dear." mutters Ninjacker, seeing Andy and Kaia on a monitor. "... General, would you mind if I took a coffee break?"
"Go ahead, Ninjacker." replies Ashbury. "But we'll be continuing with or without you."
Ninjacker nods, and heads outside. Just then, red lights all across the control room start flashing.
"GENERAL!" cries a soldier. "The part of the force field around Bacaina Shrine is completely down! Do we send in more troops or..."
"This is maybe our best chance we have to end this war with minimum casualties!" exclaims Ashbury. "FIRE A MISSILE!"
Elsewhere within the factory/command center, some workers prime a nuclear missile for launch, and fire it high into the sky, towards Coronach. Some in Sanctuary look up in amazement, some in pride, and some in sheer horror.

Andy and Kaia saw the missile taking off.
"No - !!" Andy cried out. Realizing he can't stop the missile, any optimism he had on his face was gone as a furious glare sparked in his eyes. "Those bastards...They deserve judgment!!"
His whole body became enveloped in a bright indigo light, which then zoomed into the factory, breaking right through the first door available. It made its way past anyone inside until it made it to Ashbury's location, winds swirling around it.
"No - !!" Andy cried out. Realizing he can't stop the missile, any optimism he had on his face was gone as a furious glare sparked in his eyes. "Those bastards...They deserve judgment!!"
His whole body became enveloped in a bright indigo light, which then zoomed into the factory, breaking right through the first door available. It made its way past anyone inside until it made it to Ashbury's location, winds swirling around it.
Practically everyone in the control room pulls out a machine gun and aims it at the light, Ashbury included. Outside...
"Oh, for..." sighs Ninjacker. "I came out here in the first place to stop him from doing something stupid like that."

Kaia stops at Ninjacker. "Well, it's a bit late now," she said sternly. "He wouldn't have done that if you guys didn't launch that missile!"

The light cleared in a pulse, revealing a human with the head, feet, and tail of a black jackal, his hair streaked with blue and yellow, a blue chest-length cloak (fitted with a gold ankh), a cobalt shendyt, and gold bracers on his right arm and both legs. He flashed open his eyes as he hovered above the ground on a pillow of air, his flat cloth-like wings spreading out.

Cole ran inside after Andy did. If this was the place where the missile launches took place, then if he couldn't stop that first missile, he could at least try to prevent others from launching. Though with the speed Andy was going at, Cole was a long way behind.
Meanwhile, Tempo and Rita were outside with Kaia. Seeing Ninjacker come out, Rita walked past Kaia, up to him, wrench in hand, and swung it at him.

Ninjacker barely manages to duck under the wrench's swing, and curses vigorously.
"What the hell are you doing?!" he shouts. "I'm trying to help you!"

"Identify yourself immediately!" demands Ashbury.

"I don't know who you are, so if you're someone important, you have five seconds to let me know!" Rita shouted. "Gimme a good reason why I shouldn't just brain you right now!"
"I am Ninjacker, one of Haven's best scientists!" boasts Ninjacker. "And one of the only people who can help all of you right now."
"Oh really?" Rita asked sarcastically, not putting down her wrench. "I seriously doubt that. You have another five seconds to prove me wrong. Keep talking."
"A scientist from this factory?" Kaia asked Ninjacker. "So you aided in the construction of those missiles, I take it."

"I walk the breadths of life and death...I am a guide of the innocent, and a judge of the guilty...I am called Andrew Canis, but know me by my true title: Anubis! And you...Maven Ashbury...are charged with the murder of the Bacaina Shrine!"
"Yes, I was in charge of their production." says Ninjacker. "And if you want proof..."
Ninjacker pulls out a canister and pours a silverly liquid from it--one that forms into the shape of a man.
"Could just anyone build nanites like these?"

"A tree cannot be 'murdered.'" says Ashbury calmly. "And our sources tell us there was hardly anyone in that area."

"Look again," Andy said. "That tree was keeping something from escaping...and you just broke that shackle. Already, the destroyer's spawn, the Minils, are emerging. And they're about to finish what YOU started!"

Eventually, up ahead he saw some kind of weird jackal creature staring down someone who looked like a military official. He had a hunch that they were probably the person in charge here.
Cole leaned up against the wall of the entrance to the room and listened to what was going on.
"Okay, can he do it? Yes. Will he do it? Not so sure," Rita said. "How do even plan to 'help all of us right now'?"

"I have intention of deactivating those missiles, and that would really do little except slow Haven's war machine down and get me court martialed." says Ninjacker. "I can do a lot more good where I am right now, thank you--such as share with you all who I believe is really behind all of these recent troubles. But before I do that, I want you to go find your friends and get them out of here before they can cause anymore trouble. If you can accomplish that, I'll meet you at the Bot Bar--they don't usually let organics in there, but they like me and will give us some privacy."

"Okay, now you have me worried," Tempo said, looking at Kaia. What she just said was not a good sign of how things would go inside. He started making his way to the entrance. "Let's try to drag 'em out before things go crazy in there."

Outside, the blue-armored man was walking in the direction of Old Haven, where he heard a ruckus going on.
"Chaos..." he said. "Heh, there's a good sign."

"...Registration card?" the man responded, rather annoyed. A faint puff of cold air emanated from between his helmet's jaws. "You mean those things for the 'freaks'?"
