This wily penguin is the self-styled ruler of Dream Land, and as such a constant rival to the innocent do-gooder Kirby. He takes command from his Castle Dedede, bossing around his army of Waddle Dee miscreants. Overall, he's gluttonous, bossy, and just plain rude. But sometimes, when push comes to shove, he will help Kirby do the right thing.

He's especially proficient with his enormous hammer, and it's no ordinary mallet - it's built with jet engines and precision bearings, making it a vicious clobbering machine. No one else can carry this hammer like Dedede can.

After getting whipped by Kirby, he learned how to inhale air and puff up like a balloon to match up to the cream-puff. He's also surprisingly nimble with his Super Dedede Jump and "tripping" tackle.

"Sire!" Bandana Dee spoke, "I have acquired a pink space meteorite! I think this might be valuable."
