Personality

She's quiet, partially because in silence is how she lived most of her life.
As a ranger, hunter, tracker, and woodswoman,
Caelesti is primarily used to keeping her words to herself.

As most who lived in the mideivil era, Caelesti is extremely supersticious.
She has never seen the ocean, but has heard many a tale of the beasts that ravage it's salty waters.
While she has also never encountered a monster or epic nightmarish beast, she fears the day it happens.
Often one will catch Caelesti participating in small, seemingly stupid rituals.
For example, she willspread the sap of a tree across her teeth as to consume the spirit of the tree.

Her metallic decorations are used to ward off evil, and were given to her by her father,
once a possession of her mother. She wears them whenever venturing out during or after dusk,
or when going somewhere new, or when travelling. If she were ever to travel into Ayia, these
pieces of metal would surely give her away, causing her to be executed and/or hunted.

She will rub dark, moist dirt on her face and limbs,
partially to discard her human scent when hunting, but mostly for good luck.

Caelesti has never, and most likely will never, set foot in a church or on holy land.

Caelesti also is wary of other people, having had never encountered any besides her father.
She has also never looked in a mirror, but does know that her hair is light.

She Spites God, believes him to not exist or to have forgotten the humans he left to die on earth.
This is not an opinion she vocalizes often, if ever.

Loves
Squirrel meat, stew, meditating, bird watching

Fears
Getting eaten by a sea monster, falling off of the edge of the earth, fire

History

She was told her mother died at childbirth, but really she was burned at the stake for being a witch.
This is why they lived in the woods, the father having had fled the wrath and shunning of the villagers.
What kind of father could possibly allow their darling daughter to grow up in an environment of hate?

Her father died when she was 12, leaving her to exist alone in the depths of the woods.
A year prior to his death, a cat had begun to hang around their living quarters (one room cabin thing).
It took to Caelesti, and Caelesti took to it.
She calls him Sireth ,
a name he actually does respond to.

So begins...

Caelesti Sigita stayed behind the tree, bow drawn, prepared to fire. The noise from her companion indicated a change in stature, and as she stood holding her breath she listened to the conversation.

They were onto her. What she was doing there, she knew not. No, this was untrue, she had been hunting when voices had been heard. Sireth had wandered off, which usually meant something, but today it seemed to mean trouble.

With an exhale, she whirled from behind the tree, hood drawn to obscure her eyes, bow aimed at the one who was closer. Her golden hair peeked out from under the cloak, and her form was most definitely female. A pout set on her lips.

Caelesti Sigita raised a brow at the actions of the man, then trained her bow to the other still standing. Curtly, she lowered her bow a hair. The action indicated that she would not fire...yet. Remaining silent, she kept her eyes on the man who gripped his hilt. She would wait for him to speak first.

Caelesti Sigita did her best to hold back a smile at the words of the pirate-like man. She could not shoot him, but whether it was the wisest choice was not yet apparent. No, she would probably not shoot him, but she had to be sure he wouldn't kill her first.

"Are you from Ayia?" It was a question for both men.

She lowered her bow, disarming the arrow and slipping it back into her quiver. Looking from the pirate to the thief, she swooped down to pick up Sireth. It was time for them to go.

"I wouldn't," was all she said to the pirate, before stepping twice backwards and preparing her leave. To the other, "As do I."

She looked to the one with her arrow, brows shooting up and eyes flashing for but a moment. Quickly, her brows crushed downward in a frustrated motion as she moved to snatch the arrow from the bandit's hand. Didn't he know how dangerous that was?

"I live here," Caelesti said with a definitive and protective air.

Caelesti was the least amount of amused. Watching him twirl her arrow peeved her, a lot. Shifting her weight from one foot to the other, a dumbfounded look slapped on her face. Flirting? What in the name of the trees was that?

She was out of options, it would seem. This one with her arrow said he lived here too, which unnerved her greatly. Caelesti's father had always warned her against strangers, part of the reason she had never met any.

Blinking once, she stared into the Bandit's eyes. Slowly, she extended her hand, keeping her wrist angled towards herself. With the other hand, the left one to be exact, Caelesti reached for her knife. Keeping fast to the hilt, she lifted her chin, and stated;

"Give it."

The bandit relaxed against a tree, the perfect opportunity for Caelesti. She had had enough of this, and her nerves were on edge. It did not do to see a stranger with your weapon, your hand crafted weapon.

In one swift movement, she thrust her foot towards the bandit's shin, whirling her arms with closed fists as to knock the arrow anywhere but his hands.

"SRTH!" It was almost a whistle, a shrill sound piercing through the air. It was meant to call the cat.

She glowered down at the bandit, swooping up the arrow without taking her eyes off of him. Yes, she could see exactly why her father told her to stay away from other humans. Again Caelesti called the cat, the strange pitch forcing itself through her teeth. Before awaiting a response, she quivered the arrow and darted off into the woods. Hopefully the men would not follow.

Caelesti Sigita cleared the scene, running swiftly through the forest before slowing her pace. Coming to rest amid a small collection of large boulders, her heart raced as it had never before. Did that all just happen? Interaction? With humans? Mind swimming, Caelesti unclasped her cloak. Folding it once over, she laid it on a shoulder height rock and climbed up. From here she would watch, silent, waiting. Would they follow her? Hopefully not. Had she just made an enemy? Her heart fluttered at the thought.

Taking in a deep breath, Caelesti allowed her hair to flow backwards over her shoulders as she looked towards the sky. All of her life, solitude, and in the snap of the fingers it was chaos. Just twenty feet to the other side of the rocks, a stream surged through the forest. The sound of water rushing over rocks had always calmed Caelesti, despite her inherent fear of drowning. As long as she didn't set foot in the river, all would be well. The river had been a constant her whole life, and despite it's imposition on her travel, there was something about it.

Where was that danged cat?
