Despite holding a genuinely modest attitude with regards to her own looks, Kai is a natural beauty, which makes it even more of a shame that she doesn't seem to be taking care of herself; a shift that occurred most noticeably after returning from Christmas break. She is impressively tall for a girl, standing at a height of around 5'10" (177-178cm), but seemingly struggles to maintain a steady weight. Instead, she frequently drops to an excessively unhealthy number, before gaining enough to be considered average, then back down again. It's very easy to see when she's experiencing one of these emotional slumps as her skin becomes sickly and pale, and she's rarely spotted without heavy bags under her eyes from lack of sleep. Sometimes they may even seem red or puffy, as if she's been crying. Kai has a thick head of naturally curly brown hair, which is often left to fall as it will, and with warm chocolate-brown eyes to match. What some may have noticed is that Kai is aggressively protective of her hair, often physically retaliating when someone attempts to touch it, because she doesn't want anyone to see the scarring she still carries from the assault.

Kai's wardrobe is made up of extremely loose-fitting clothes — shirts and jackets that are a good 2-3 sizes too big for her, so she practically drowns in them, and sweatpants that she can barely keep up without tugging at her waistband every few moments. She prefers to keep her figure as hidden as possible, which she manages with some degree of success, and seems to be uncomfortable with showing too much skin; especially on her arms and legs. She has a particular love of graphic tees and her colour range consists almost entirely of shades of blue and purple, with some black and white thrown in.

Kai held no real interested in becoming an Animagus until after the incident. It became a sort of coping mechanism; a deep-seated desire to escape her physical body and experience the freedom of running wild. No expectations, no restrictions. She held very little anticipation for what form she might take, as anything would've served that purpose, but was pleasantly surprised to discover she'd been gifted the form of a Tundra Wolf. She believes it was meant to be a sign of some untapped potential, and a strength that could turn her into a force to be reckoned with. Never again would anyone be able to take advantage of her.

• Offensive Duelling — a skill she developed out of pure necessity, for the sake of just being able to feel safe, she became a duellist and a pretty good one at that
• Reading People — she's observant enough that not a whole lot really skips her notice; she makes a note of people's habits and tells in order to gauge their emotional response
• Dancing — a muggle hobby, sure, but one that she enjoys
• Animal Care — she respects animals a hell of a lot more than people, and often goes out of her way to care for and protect them

• Emotional Instability — it affects her personal relationships, physical well-being, and drive to do well in school — sometimes becoming outright catatonic
• Physically Unwell — with the lack of care she provides her human body, it's no surprise that she's become physically weak, even prone to fainting and sickness
• Nightmares — she suffers from chronic insomnia and nightmares, making it difficult for her to fall asleep in the first place, let alone sleep consistently through the night
• Sobriety — it's kind of an open secret that Kai relies heavily on weed to get through the day; it's very rare you'll catch her sober, and for good reason

The shift in personality that occurred within Kai was one that perhaps not a whole lot of her friends and family were truly prepared for. She'd always been a happy-go-lucky little dreamer; a girl with big ambitions and an even bigger attitude. She was bright and colourful and truly wise beyond her years, but in very subtle ways, so it came as a great shock to those who knew her when she returned in such a state. She was still hurting, and that translated to anger and cynicism, with very little drive to pursue the things she'd previously enjoyed.

These days, Kai definitely puts up a front. She wants people to believe that she has her shit together, that she's only gotten stronger after what happened, but the truth of it is that she's never felt lower. Those emotional scars weigh heavily on her mind and soul, slowly robbing it of its capacity to feel and love and enjoy the world. Every day is a battle to stave off the numbness, and it's not difficult to see when she's lost it. She has a habit of overcompensating for how little she feels by acting recklessly — sometimes even a little erratically — because she needs the drama and the excitement to occupy her mind before those niggling thoughts creep back in to tell her how worthless, disgusting, and unwanted she is.

The only time Kai feels truly at peace is when she's in her Animagus form. It gives her a sense of freedom that she believes she'll never be able to achieve as a human, as well as enough raw physical power and speed to make her feel truly invincible. She's been known to run away from the school on several occasions, spending her time in nearby wooded areas; just running and hunting to her heart's content, until the professors drag her back.
