In traditional Chinese culture, bamboo is a symbol of Oriental beauty. It represents the character of moral integrity, resistance, modesty and loyalty. It also stands as an example of loneliness and elegance, among others. Has also long been known as the Chinese symbol for strength, due to its fast growth and resilience.

Why should anyone pray to gods when they have all the power they need and want at their fingertips? Many no longer believe in the old ways and for the first time in centuries, the houses of Bamboo are without their gods and masters. Heaven is silent to the cries of its children and has turned a blind eye to those eager to enforce its will.

Meanwhile there are those who swear that this silence makes them more balanced than those of generations past; that they have finally come to appreciate the significance of both sides, and to understand that the universe involves both good and bad.

However corruption has begun to stake its claim among the branches of the tree once again. With Heaven silent and Guardians without a home, all who once looked up to Heaven’s light are left to guess if they will be remembered as heroes or villains.
