Introduction

“Now you are mistaken, dearest,” said the cat: “We’re all insane, especially all who are here.
I am insane, you are insane. All do we share a similar mind.”
“How do you know I’m insane?” asked Alice, furrowing her eyebrows.
“You must be,” replied the cat, leering down at her with his hideous grin, “Or you wouldn’t have come here in the first place, would you?”
“Charlie? Charlie, are you listening to me?”
The young boy’s eyes snapped open, only to find a pair of dull, hazel eyes behind thick glasses staring back at him. Clearing his throat, the psychologist sitting on a chair beside him tucked a lose strain of his chestnut hair behind his ear, absentmindedly tapping his pen against the clipboard on his lap.
“You did it again…” the psychologist looked at the boy named Charlie pointedly.
Charlie tilted his head to the side, gazing back at the doctor quizzically, confusing crossing his face. “What?” asked the child.
“You spaced out again, and you seemed to be talking to someone. There isn’t anyone else here besides us, is there? So if you have something to tell me, stop mumbling.”
“Doctor…” started the child in an attempt to change subject, his deep golden eyes remaining glued to the older man, “I have a question.”
The psychologist readjusted his lab coat slightly as he arched one of his bushy eyebrows. “What is it, Charlie? Ask away,” he said, a small smile tugging the corners of his lips.
For just a split second, it seemed to Charlie as though the cat was leering at him again. He knew it was probably just him, but somehow the psychologists smile reminded of the cats hideous grin. A shiver went down Charlie’s spine. Nonetheless, he voiced his question, shifting down his gaze at his fumbling hands.
“Doctor, do I really have to grow up? Do I really need to become an adult?” he asked quietly as he fidgeted with his sleeve.
The doctor laughed softly, giving the boy a gentle pat on the shoulder.
“Of course you need to grow up, boy… everyone becomes an adult sooner or later- you will too.”
Charlie’s expression saddened. “I… I don’t want to become an adult, though. I don’t want this game to end… ever.”

This story takes place during the interwar period in the 20’s on an asylum for the mentally ill. Actually, the asylum was closed for several years, yet after as WWI was coming to an end, they decided to reopen it again. Now once more, they take care of those not fit for society, many of which were damaged by the war. Amongst them it could be everything from soldiers damaged by the constant noise around them, children witnessing their parents deaths, women and girls just happening to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and of course those who were damaged for entirely different reasons. Maybe they were mad even before it began. The point is there are a lot of people with a lot of history in the unfortunate house of Wonderland Asylum.
As soon as you step onto the grounds surrounding Wonderland Asylum and the gates fall shut behind you, you can sense something is amiss. The gothic mansion looms above you like a monster leering down at you, just waiting to swallow you. Within those walls you will find Wonderland. Maybe not at once, but Wonderland will sink its claws into you sooner or later and pull you in, no matter if you want it to or not. You will start dreaming, in the dream you are someone completely different, in the dream you can be the one you really want to be, the one that the world doesn’t tolerate. As wonderland dives into your deepest hopes, fears and desires, turning dream into reality... will you be able to escape? Or will you accept it as it is?
The world you live in is so gray, so colorless, so boring. Everything is just gloomy and terrible; it’s so different from Wonderland. Wonderland is a different view of the gray world you live in; it is no different from our own world, and yet it is still entirely different. The asylum is still there, the rooms are all there, but everything is in color. Strange creatures walk around in the woods, strange creatures lurk in the dark. Out from the floors flower grows; it’s the best playground you have ever seen. It has everything you could ever wish for, everything you have ever dreamt of... yet good is always accompanied by bad, and Wonderland happens to also host your deepest fears. Your greatest nightmares and your biggest dreams; which will it be?
There is a plot behind the RP, which will reveal itself when it’s time, until then just enjoy the ride.

I've had exams all over the place, and I've been revising like crazy, and I just haven't been able to get around to it! I'll be finishing Ellie off now and then I need to revise :-)
So sorry about this again!

EDIT: Do you mind if I use a Face Claim instead of an Anime one? I'm having trouble with it (Again...) >.<

Sadly, as child labor laws were in full effect beyond the nineteenth century my idea of making an underage Irish coal miner will conflict with the timeline.
Unless the conflicting time correspondence doesn't bother you much I've not much idea for another character. I could probably think of another in some time but given the changes needed it would depart far from my original idea, disheartening me quite a deal.
