Bashemath

Primordial in nature but not quite a god or mortal, growing life from death, writhing shadow born of the sap of Abaranne's tree.

a character in “Pantheon: Shattered World”, as played by MartinVole

Description

Bashemath the Writhing Life

[Incarnation of]

The Black Ichor

[Elemental Affinity]

Earth and Dark

[Alignment]

Chaotic Neutral

[Physical description of preferred forms]

Black Ichor, the amorphous inky black liquid born of Abaranne's grief, Bashemath is a consciousness formed from it, molded by it. It cannot exists long from the source unless occupying a body, it reanimates the dead to act as avatars for Bashemath.

Preferred form A strange dark child with a white face, black lips and black nose, and black hair and tentacles, her eyes black save for blue eyes shaped like 8s.

Other forms Any avatars she possesses, and a large tentacled creature resembling a corruption of Abaranne. They have ink-like fluid filling their eyes, sometimes dripping out, black lips, and black tendrils protruding from the spine.

[Preferred Gender]

Female

[Means of Godhood]

While uncertainty exists of being a god, her birth was from the black ichor of the tree of Abaranne, an embodiment of her grief while seeing the carnage wrought upon her children.

[Personality]

She is strange, eerie, her tone and nature seems to shift on a whim, but always always smiling, always staring, always speaking softly while digging for a reaction. She has an almost lustful obsession with mortal beings and their livelihood, showing some kind of love for the flesh, perhaps a kind of corruption of Abaranne's love for her children. She shows an incapability to lie, instead choosing not to answer a question rather than falsifying information, a trait that seems etched into her very being rather than conscious honesty.

When reanimating the dead, some aspects of the former life carry over into the avatar, but are merely an echo of the person or creature rather than the original.

She shows distrust of the gods, especially those that enter Ertse'gart, a trait considered potentially dangerous, perhaps more so with her spreading influence.

[Worshiped by]

Little to none, much of what appears as first as followers are instead her avatars.

[Symbols]

"Bashemath's Eye" "It gazes inward and outward, sees through lies, peers through you."

[Divine Weapon]
None.

[Blessings]

Perpetuation: death marks the end of the former life, but through Bashemath the experiences and memories do not fade away, assimilating them when reanimating their evacuated body some part of them will persist in the mortal world after death.

Symbiosis: Augmenting the bodies of beings, she can improve their survival in exchange for linking with them, actively aware of their every move.

[Curses]

Last Will: With the memories of the murdered and maligned, they return to persecute their killer and drive them to madness, dragging them back to be dealt with in Bashemath's domain.

Leech: Latching a part of herself to another, she draws strength from them, and in part, power, while weakening them until it is purged or the connection is severed. Fire works if it can be endured.

[Realm]

Ertse'gart Nexus, the center point around the monument of Abaranne's former life.

[Most Notable Creation]

The Undying, avatars created from people and animals that once left the mortal coil, now reanimated as the black-blooded populous.

[Preferred form of worship]

None.

Deep within the great forest activity stirs in the forms of the new, if not twisted, life. Hundreds of glimmering eyes watch in line, like peasants clearing the way for royalty. Black and twisted constructs of the Black Ichor are formed into a makeshift council, a strange doppelganger of the one of Raelenea.

"Do you not see, dear Basalah, the plagues wrought by these so called gods," a woman's voice is heard as a figure, more human form walks down the black and fleshy steps, down between the creatures, another smaller figure like a child walking beside her dressed in the robes of a peasant with a white mask concealing its face with the exception of one brown eye. The woman herself is wrapped in shreds of purple and blue cloth. This was Bashemath, or at least, the primary body anyways, a young woman with fair skin, but also strange blemishes as well as the eight tentacles upon her head and back. Her eyes were inky pools, literally filled with Black Ichor, offset by soft blue eyes with strange pupils shaped like the letter 's', something that has become symbolic of her. "Take the matter of tragedy, for example, what is its point but to cause misery for the sake of misery? An empty cause that only satiate itself to forget its own emptiness. That is the true tragedy."

She strolls through the forest some placing a hand behind her back, the small figure watching intently, fidgeting about as it stays close to its mistress. Bashemath raises her head up, looking into the sky at the few rays of light that break through the tree lines. She smiles widely and squints her eyes.

"However, it was through that suffering, that plea for help that I was born, born to liberate these poor creatures of their despair, I, the carrier of her will, her love, and her sorrow," her voice was soft, tender in feeling yet somehow lacking, but not in sincerity. As she walked forwards something rattles underfoot and she steps back and looks down upon the form. It was a large creature, long set into decay, another corpse nearby biting into its neck, bleached to its bones. Their demise was clearly mutually assured. The creature, presumably whom Bashemath refers to as Basalah cowers behind her mistress shaking like a leaf. "How mournful... the poor struck down in its prime and a predator denied of even its victory. Neither are to blame, they only followed their design. In that, who's fault is it then? They are but victims, toys in a scheme, but look Basalah, the sparks of consciousness, though dim as they are, still present upon their ruin. Let us reignite these flames before they fully extinguish."

With this she kneels to the corpses of the two creatures and lets the Black Ichor run down from her eyes into her hands and softly pours it down the decayed through of the prey, and from its throat too into the predator's. Within moments a soft glow emerges from deep inside, followed by gurgling and then the corpses begin to spasm as new flesh and new organs begin grotesquely replacing the old and rotten. Basalah running and hiding behind a tree as Bashemath leans in watching intently, her mouth opening into a wide toothless grin. Before long, the two corpses were soon replaced by two large creatures, reanimated, reborn. The prey was a soft creature with a creamy white face, layered tufts of cottony fur, light golden down its back and a mane of long flowing hair, its front paws were thin, looking almost akin to hands. Its eyes were a bright blue, gleaming with light. Its tail was long, thick, plush, and striped. It was a colorful creature, intended not for violence.

The other creature was in absolute contrast to the brighter one, with a more muscular physique, wispy shadowy coat, sharp teeth in powerful jaws, eyes red, and claws sharp for rending flesh. The dark colors of its coat were only offset by a slightly less dark underbelly. It was a creature crafted purely under the intent to kill.

The two creatures let out their shrieks, one from the light creature soft and melodic tremolo, and the other a booming roar. Both silenced when Bashemath touches their faces and turn to face the one who orchestrated their resurrection greeted by a widely smiling face. Basalah slowly makes its way back to the side of Bashemath, albeit cautiously.

"What beautiful things, what precious things, bound in death, bound in life renewed,," she says softly to the two creatures as she gently strokes her hands across their cheeks, pressing their heads together softly, both leaning into her hands and closing their eyes. "You with your coat as radiant as the sun, you will be Lumina, her light, and to you who is dark as the night itself shall be Tenebris, her shadow. You who once slew one another shall instead be as siblings, twins of day and night. You will be... inseparable, as long as one lives, both live, bound forever as a fused soul. Come now, children of the fold, for there is much to do for this world."

With this she leads the two creatures along with her in her stroll through Ertse'gart, Basalah following cautiously behind.

The whisp of shadow that Xyr was currently appeared out of the darkness that the Ertse'gart allowed to exist during the day. He had felt something new mention him, Tragedy, and he had to investigate. After Creep had offered little to no entertainment he was sure that meeting and greeting a new immortal would be fun.

He was not sneaky about it either, a ghost like shade of a humanoids upper half manifested several dozen meters ahead of Bashemath. It was not long before it condensed into smoke, which was the closest thing Xyr dared be to physical with the icky disgusting forest around them. Two slits that represented eyes flickered open and gazed in its direction. When Xyr spoke it was almost a whisper on the wind, raspy sounding and almost genderless.

"You are one to speak of Tragedy, as you yourself are the product of the... most delicious tragedy in history." Xyr's voice oozes with, for lack of a better word, satisfaction as he mentions this last part. But it held no ill intent, infact his tone suggested that he was happily amused. He continues on speaking now with curiosity.

"But you don't need me to tell you that. How often is he in your thoughts? Your dreams and nightmares, if you have any? Considering the words Bashemath had spoken earlier and what he had heard from those in Raelenea Bashemath had at least some emotional attachment to it's past host and in the current goals it has. Xyr could easily exploit that, but first came formalities of Tragedy. The final act must always be the best one, so why start out so strongly? He would take things slow at first.

"Time is not your side, I suggest you choose a path soon. I would be disappointed if you choose peace."

Bashemath pauses, as does her undying companions upon being greeted so precariously by the god of tragedy himself. As usual, Basalah hides behind Bashemath, peeking around sheepishly, while Lumina and Tenebris step in front of her with full intent to protect their mistress, the latter letting out a low growl as it eyes Xyr. Bashemath simply chuckles and places her hands under their chins and gently pushes them aside.

"Now now, such incivility will not do, but the sentiment is not unappreciated," she speaks with continued warmness when addressing the two. The two great beasts lay down in positions to the sides of Bashemath that mirror one another, as if they were now as one creature. "Besides, you soon have little to fear of ones such as he."

With this she shifts her gaze up to Xyr, the smile remaining unbroken, but her pupils had dilated into the shape of an 8. "For you, I am curious that you speak of a tragedy of which you had no part in," her tone rolling with continued calmness as she paces around Xyr. She was not surprised to see him, on the contrary, she expected some of the more petty gods to arrive at some point. As she trails onward into her speech her eyes grew wider and a strange feeling permeated the air that was not so easily discerned. "I could say that I am indeed one to speak of concepts of horror and tragedy. I have seen visions of the impact, the screams, the pains of many as they run in vain from the inevitable. Many lives taken, women and children, beasts and men, consumed in one great wave of destruction, most never even receiving a proper burial from the state of the world or the state of their remains. Then the grief, inky black, killed more afterwards, unable to live on after witnessing such a horror. And the gods did nothing to alleviate that, now did they?"

Her words were cutting and unfiltered, incapable of being untrue to itself. Yet her tone remained calm, not raising in voicing or bearing its fangs in spite of the intensity of it. Her pupils slowly retracting back to their previous state as she reaches down and strokes Basalah's head. "It must actually be quite frustrating for you," she continues, her eyes narrowing as she gives a side glance to Xyr. "The greatest tragedy in history, of all Aettean, still recited in plays even today, in theaters and in song, and poetry reciting upon the lingering suffering... a tough act to follow I'm sure! People still talk of Asriy'el's descent like a ball of fire, of course some say like a bolt of lightning... the exacts of which matter little. Then, outside a few small circles, who recites the tragedy of the nobleman who, in the emptiness of his mortal life orchestrated his own destruction? What was his name again..? The tragedy I find is that this was all the worth he found within his life, that moment of self destruction. I look not in awe, not in shock, but instead... of pity. You poor man."

Her eyes glimmer as she lifts up her pet into her arms, cradling the strange timid creature now revealed to have two sets of forelimbs, and black tendrils running down behind its mask. "I exist by no cause of my own, from sorrow seeking alleviation," her smile widens, and her tentacles curl, and she holds out her hands and closes her eyes as Basalah clings onto her shoulders. It was like a strange reflection of the images of Abaranne with her curling cloud-like hair and outstretched arms. "I do what I must out of love, I dip my hands into the ink of death and rekindle the sparks of life! I consume death and make life, I consume pain and make pleasure, I consume despair and create joy! I am the embodiment of the grand will, I am the new order, and if they shall come they shall come as witnesses to the future of Aettean!"

There's a brief pause as the light of the forest is blotted out, by the passing of clouds, eyes gleaming, numerous in number fill the forest and silence suddenly overtakes it. The magnitude of Bashemath's influence revealing itself.

"You speak of time being against me, and yet it is the time of the gods that is running out! Tell them how this, the Testament of Bashemath!"

Bashemath's reaction was just what Xyr wanted. She was following her ideals with the emotional responsibility of a child, and the one-sided mentality of a religious zealot. This was good for Xyr, now that Bashemath was utterly locked in her conviction it would be easier to predict her. He had to admit it to at least himself, she was not wrong. He had wondered in the past about how he might make an even greater tragedy than Bashemath's origins.

He reconciled with his thoughts, and answered her diligently. "That tragedy was one of the most beautiful moments of history, and there was no god like me at the time. Imagine what could happen when the perfect actors align under my guidance!" Hysterical laughter echoes out from the smokey form. There was no mouth but the spectral shoulders moved with its laughter.

As he quited down, Xyr got a tad more tone into his voice, almost taunting the immortal. At the same time, he begins circling just like Bashemath keeping her in his sights. "I am not your messenger boy, nor do I care about the other deities. Follow the Prayer Trail, and the gods will come to you." Without even a hint of clarification the smoke dissipated with a gust of wind, his laughter darker as he left and echoing out of existence.

------------------

"I see it more upon each passing year," a woman's voice echoes mournfully through the alley. A figure shuffles quietly from a corner, dressed in what could only be described as rags. The lighting gave away only a glimmer of eyes and a few sets of smaller ones upon her shoulders. She kneels looking down at what remains, eaten away by the roaches, then sighs and looks towards the ground, crossing her arms against her chest. One of the animals on her back look up at Creep and stares. "They call this just life, how it is, but in reality it is just a slow yet painful death. Only a few can truly say they are happy, only few can say they are secure. And here, I am born into this sad and twisted world. The Creator has abandoned them, the old gods withdrawn by their squabble... this world... its people... were forsaken by no fault of their own. I cannot accept that this is life."

The woman spoke without filter, sad yet hopeful, compassionate, yet hints of a bitterness when speaking of the gods. Finally she turns her head to look over to Creep, shimmering streams of fluid running down her cheeks now visible. She was crying? She reaches out to him, tilting her head ever so slightly. "What ails you, bug keeper?"

Rey Jihara

"It... is not r...really a party with just us, no," she says, trying to pace herself with her pronunciations looking down at the ground. She shuffles her feet slightly, this had not been exactly what she expected her first duty to be like. She had expected something more grand, more glorious and honor worthy.

She was shaken once more, the human woman, Carissa, the only other to arrive so far wanted to talk. As she was, Rey was never too good at... communicating.

"Y-yes, I like music," she responds, fidgets with her fingers. "I hear music q... quite often, and would find it... strange, maybe bad, if I did not. Where I was from... music was more... function, but here it is... function, but also recreation. I find comfort in that. What is your music?"

She notices she is fidgeting with her hands and shoves them behind her back. She could not believe she was so nervous after thinking she was prepared for this.

"I love string instruments but the one I love the most and use is the harp. My harp here, Uhopsibri can change sizes making it easier to carry and perform with. When playing music on the street or just traveling I keep it in this hand held form, when at a concert I return it to its original size. I just find a certain charm with a harp, but of course a few backup instruments are always good. I find that trumpets and violins go really great with a harp while performing certain songs." Carissa energetically spoke as she showed Jihara the golden harp in her hands. Of course other than that she had no other items on her self.

Of course she noticed Jihara fumbling with her hands a bit, but she did not pay it too much attention. "So from where you came from music was for function? Was it to call upon enchantments or cast spells? Well, my harp can do the same thing but I primarily use it as recreational purposes so everyone can enjoy a bit of music. You see I don't fight at all, as you already know Edna dislikes violence, I dislike the same thing. As her disciple I want to do what I can, even though I may only have music people can become friendly with each other...Oh dear! I went off topic, my apologies! Um...So...anything cool you want to say?" Carissa chuckled a bit as she just realized she went way off track in their conversation.

Creep

"What ails you, bug keeper?"

Creep looked up, drawn out of thought by the sudden voice of the figure that had approached him. Immediately his cockroaches senses danger, something they were quick to retreat from as all the bugs scurried from the corpse, leaving the alley much the same way they came only with the addition of circumnavigating the stranger. Creep himself took a couple steps back, purchasing some distance between him and the strange figure before him. He did not know why she approached him like so but a lot of things about this were definitely not normal to his sensibilities.

"Well for one thing this is the second time today that somebody's gone off at me with cryptic nonsense. I swear it's like people just get their kicks by trying to puzzle me."

He tried not to sound too defensive but it was hard with a pair of little eyes looking on at him. At this point he mostly just wanted out of this conversation as he mostly just found the whole conversation off-putting. Well, that and he was really suspicious of the figure being another deity trying to play mind games with him again.

"As much as I'd love to er, stay and chat I'll probably be on my way, My way being outta here more specifically."

As he had been backing up while talking with that said he slipped past the corner, vanishing from view. That is to say he didn't literally vanish but rather took off down the alley, hoping quite well he wasn't being pursued by something quite awful.

Just as he emerged from the alley way, coming to a slow he saw three women. Two were concealed in cloaks, one in a mask and the third was dressed in a colorful dress, likely expensive stuff given the vibrancy of the colors. He recognized the one person from the bar. It wasn't that strange to see this person again given how close the locations were but given the events just prior it was starting to get rather strange how often he was running into strange out of place people in Hoffngard.

"Hey, you bunch wouldn't happen to know that doomsday sayer over by the dead body now would 'ya?" He asked, wondering if there was some connection between these people and the other one. It wasn't much of an unusual question in itself but there was little involved in the topic that was usual for a place like Hoffngard. Even dead bodies weren't THAT usual though they were unpleasantly frequent in the river that ran down the middle of the city.

The avatar of Bashemath sighs and looks over at her... companions.

"Was I unclear? Perhaps I should try better next time," she says to essentially herself. "That one is special... and I will not let Xyr or the other gods use him."

"It is scouting for now, we intend to check Ertse'gart and see how far the Black Ichorr has spread and... if necessary... make contact," she responds as well as she could muster. "Hoffngarrrd sits on the edge, so from here, not long. I am shocked there arre no signs of it here."

With this said another person emerges, this one in a seeming hurry to get away from... something. It was a young man, tattered clothes and hat. A vagabond perhaps? She was not going to judge, but his scent was strange. In any case, it was clear immediately that he was likely not another sent to join them. She was also taken aback by this abruptness, not sure what to say in response to his mention of a doomsday sayer.

"I know nothing of such, I am Sublimatio Carro, um... under Ha-zar-mav-eth, nothing to do with... doomsday," she explains, trying to be as forthright to place herself away from such dark practices. It wouldn't be the first time members were mistaken as a dark cult, given their dress code and the whole... being associated with a god of the afterlife. She inspects him, shifting concerns. "But tell me... you spoke of a body... were you attacked? Are you okay? Do you requirre help?"

___________________________

Tir'Ish watched as Kana quickly made contact with what seemed to be the scouting group. He (for he was still in the form of a man-monk) smiled, and kept hidden on the rooftop where he was perched. All was going well, and hopefully they would have some answers soon. The smile quickly faded, however, when the boy infested with insects suddenly made an appearance. Creep, thought Tir'Ish with just a hint of contempt. Creep was certainly no enemy of the Na-Ahns, but he was difficult to deal with sometimes. What is he panicking about, I wonder.

Tir'Ish decided to get in closer. Jumping from the roof and using a small amount of energy to keep his physical form intact, he took off running towards the group. He slowed down just in time to not be immediately noticed as an abnormality, and walked closer to be ready just in case Kana would be in danger. Keeping his eyes on them, Tir'Ish read their words by the intents given off. Dead bodies were bothersome, so-called "doomsday sayers" were often trouble, and Creep was usually a little rash.

Unless something threatening happened, Tir'Ish planned to stay his distance and watch. It has been a very long time since he fought, and he certainly wasn't eager to start back up.

Carrissa had no idea what the fine details were for this mission so she did not respond, of course it seemed that Rey knew where they were going. The strange person had not disclosed their name, but all she knew was that she served Tir'Ish Na-Ahn.

What got her attention however was a strange young man with tattered clothing who said something about...a dead body! "Doomsday sayer! Dead body! Oh my gosh..." Carissa covered her mouth as she broke away from the group to head to the alleyway. Of course this took precedence but there was no way she would just leave a dead person rotting in an alleyway, everyone deserved to be properly buried.

She was not going to just ignore this, and a doomsday sayer? Was that strange person the killer? She had to find out.

"I know nothing of such, I am Sublimatio Carro, um... under Ha-zar-mav-eth, nothing to do with... doomsday, But tell me... you spoke of a body... were you attacked? Are you okay? Do you requirre help?"

Hazarmaveth, he could of sworn he recognized that name. Eh. I'll remember that later. He cast the thought from his mind. He turned his attention back to the matter at hand.

"Oh, I'm fine. Not sure I can say the same of the poor guy down in the alley. He was dead by the time I came upon him. Probably a mugging from the look of it though I couldn't tell you for sure since I wasn't there long." He informed them of the situation.

"Zzsir, we are being watchzed." The ear wig informed him telepathically. He hadn't noticed this but bugs were far more canny when it came to spotting metaphorical flies on the wall. It was hard for someone to go anywhere in a place as dirty as this side of the city and not draw the attention of a mosquito or a flea.

He just took their word for it rather than ponder about the fact that they might see anyone looking at him as a potential stalker. Given that possibility he paid the potential danger little mind, keeping his focus on the group for the current time.

"Doomsday sayer! Dead body! Oh my gosh..." The pretty young blonde exclaimed. She certainly was a good looking lady. Creep definitely noted her pale unblemished skin and cute yet innocent looking face. She was the type of girl that was severely out of his league, both before and after his transcendence to godhood.

And just like that she was off, running down the alleyway he had just exited. "Whoa, hold on there!" He beckoned, deciding to follow after her. She looked rather inexperienced, naive even. He could only wonder if she had ever seen a body before, let alone one that had been partially eaten by roaches. The doomsday sayer was no good news either, this problem was only going to get worse before it was going to get better this way. Since he had a partial hand in how this was going down he felt the need to at least see it to as much of a conclusion as he's willing to follow up on.

Plus she was cute too. Cuties shouldn't be hanging around dead bodies and creeps like him.

Goddess of Love, Lust, and Sexuality
Fairy Glade

Image

The Goddess of Love, lay back, watching her guests, indulged themselves her power. Some danced, most coupled up. Soft moans, and whimpers of euphoria floated about the room, along with incenses and and scented oils permated the air adding to her already potent power. She smiled softly, playing the hair of her avatar, Ashika, whole lay back against her chest, having already indulged with the Goddess herself was still reeling.

Ai, however, while a smile touched her lips, was elsewhere. She was supposed to have gone to the meeting with her Brother's and Sister's but was much too wrapped up in what she had been doing with the avatar, the thought of the meeting bored her. Ai did not like to be bored, in fact, she abhored it. She chuckled to herself causing Ashika -still breathless- to look up at her.

Ai merely shook her head and Ashkia lay back, losing her eyes, a pleasant satisfied smile on her face. Ai went back to her musing.
She was rarely ever alled upon for such matters, surely her brothers and sisters cared little for her. After all, she was what distracted most of the mortals from the things they wanted them to do. Some where driven until love was involved, or lust in most cases. Some where smart but love made them stupid, some where dark but love made them kind. Love had many gifts but it was much like a virus, she knew, and and distracting one at that.

This always caused Ai to keep from these meetings, she did not want to sit there and be loathed, and the fear of such a thing, kept her distance, which was strange for such a sociable being.
She felt bad though now that the lust she'd placed on herself warn of.

She should go. She knew she should go, and so she would.

She walked passed her resting avatar, pressed a gentle kiss to the woman's lips before making her departure, Ashika just sighed, too love drunk to move.

It didn't take long for Ai to arrive in to where they all gathered, and decided to hide her apprehension in the only way she knew how.
Grandly.

She stepped through the great doors, her arms up, her hips cocked, the belt at them and the matching silks that cascaded down and around her legs in the deep blues of a twilight night sky, teased the bounties beneath them.It would have been considered a skirt what she wore, had it not been for the splits that rose to the belt. She smiled.

"Brothers! Sisters! Do forgive my tardiness." She said, "But have no fear, Love is here." She said with a light flirty giggle. She cared little for the so called blood ties that forced her to call them siblings. She flirted with anyone.

She dropped her arms and approached, her hips swaying teasingly, her hair, dark this day to match the dark blue she was wearing, flowing behind her, wisping like a spider's web in a soft breeze, she found herself a seat atop a table, she crossed her legs, with the split the rose up the sides of her silks being so high, it was that motion that kept her modest...somewhat.

"What did I miss?" She asked, her tone sing song. "Tell me everything." She said as if this was idle gossip and not something important. It must have been if she had been invited.

Scire smiled at Ai as she came in as what Scire was to the mind Ai was for the body so he considered her more his counterpart than the others there. Many of his moths were inspired by desire or created because of the link she made for ones the moths once lost. Loss often kept moths anchored as well as the living loves that tempered obsessiveness into utility. However Scire, whether him or herself at the time, looked at Ai's eyes when speaking to her being a creature appreciative more of the benefit desire brought to mediating creation. Scire tended to more... academic... pursuits of the flesh among his flock than the ones she held interest in. Though he had a soft spot for drawing beautiful things from time to time as did many of the artists working in his name.

Crimson colored eyes gleamed at Ai, "Hello, AI! Forgive me if I don't get your seat I'm carving at the moment! There's a fell fire burning down creation making smouldering ashes of everything it touches. Breaking all the things and people we tended to all these years out of blasted earth."

Scire frowned his eyes turning cold blue, "Now this ichor wants to tear out all the hard work and replace it with themselves. All the carefully hybridized flowers torn out to smother the world in basalt. It's wanton destruction with no love of anything but itself."

Grunting he added sourly while striking blood from the marble while ardently writing his name there, "Even my basest bloodied crows have a sense of decorum. They don't just lay waste."

Fairy Glade

Scrie, the more scholarly of her siblings greeted her first and with a smile. He, as he was today, appreciated her talents, he understood that she was necessary, if not important to the world of mortals and he thought her beautiful enough to draw.

SHe smiled at him, waving a few fingers as his scarlet eyes shimmered. Hello, AI! Forgive me if I don't get your seat I'm carving at the moment! There's a fell fire burning down creation making smouldering ashes of everything it touches. Breaking all the things and people we tended to all these years out of blasted earth." He said and she frowned. "Huh?" she said, cocking her head to the left in confusion. He knew many words, and not all of them she knew herself, but from what she could tell. Something was burning things, mortals?

"Burning?" She asked before he went on, his eyes turned a steely blue. "Now this ichor wants to tear out all the hard work and replace it with themselves. All the carefully hybridized flowers torn out to smother the world in basalt. It's wanton destruction with no love of anything but itself." He said and she rose a hand to her ample chest. "My." She breathed. No love? That was not good, not good at all. "Even my basest bloodied crows have a sense of decorum. They don't just lay waste." He said as he struck the marble he'd been working on, bleeding it. She sighed. "Well, What are we going to do, Scrie?" She asked. "Surely we can not allow such a thing to continue, What are the others saying?" She asked, knowing that she was a lover, not a fighter, and if it didn't love, there was nothing she could do. She could distract most anything. A raging beast would calm at her touch, a frustrated warrior would relax in her presence, even a madman could be distracted, but all of those things could love. this...Ichor, according to her brother, could not.

The marble block turned with his hands showing channels on the other sides that flowed in and around each other the scars that left a circular pool of blood below it like melted wax. Scire smiled and cupped his hand above the block blowing on it. A whoomp of thumping red flame above it inhaled the pool of wax moving about the channels freely. The ticking adoration of madmen tapped to see their notice directed at a canvas marked as an interest of his own. Most would appreciate that Scire saw intrinsic value in her activities and the rest he would watch.

Sat back he grinned as the gauntlet's sharp finger turned to rounded mail. Unadorned candle enkindled behind him he rose to his feet to Ai with predatory eyes that saw uncertainty. At that movement yellow robe tightens to brown and gold shaded formalwear a muscled frame behind it one chainmail glove tethered into his pants pocket.

Scire reaches forward to stroke Ai's cheek with a chainmail thumb that inspired errant misplaced memories, "They have sent their little brushes to paint a better understanding of the threat. To burn or to learn? You can do what you have always done and how you have always created..."

He smiled pushing up his glasses with his other hand then pointing at her nose with it, "...find the worthy and give them something to fight for."

The woman crosses her arms and sinks her head down in reaction to Carissa's words.

"There are many reasons, few of them remotely good," she responds softly, in nearly a whisper. "I can not lie, it does not get easier with the more I see, it just hurt more inside. People say they do get used to it, but in reality most just try to push aside the pain and fear. I however, can not. The one who dies alone is tragic, the one who lives alone is tragic... everyone deserves to live in some comfort, some care. I-I do not like to see this suffering world, these suffering people. W-when I see it, I just want to... reach out and snatch the pain away."

Rey is confused, somewhat on edge yet not sure why. The person made no movements that were threatening, showed absolutely no intentions of violence yet something felt so... unnatural about this person that it was triggering instinctive reactions all inside her head. She had decided it was instead better to only watch.

"Carrissa, be careful touching the body... rather you not risk getting the blight," Rey says, reaching out and touching her shoulder. She did not want to alarm anyone and decided against directly mentioning her concerns about the woman. "Besides, ya... rreally shouldn't force yourself."

"I've wasted enough of your time," the woman says with a sigh after observing Rey's behavior and begins walking away then stops and looks back, more specifically at Creep. "And... I'm really very sorry I frightened you... or made you feel worse through my foolishness. Just... hah... I wanted to say... no life is worthless... that is all."

With that the person continued heading away from them, Rey feeling gradually more at ease the further she got.

Creep

He'd of rather not come back there but here he was, standing amongst a group of girls looking at the strange redhead.

"I came after the tragedy took place and found the sad one here."

The sad one? Well sad and pathetic can be considered synonyms so I guess it works.

"The sad one did the same, he played no part in this man's death"

"Yep, that's true." He confirmed, more than happy to dispel any suspicions that he might of murdered someone.

Now he was standing there, they were all looking at the dead body and apparently according to some stray fleas that were around some guy was hiding up on a roof. In addition there were fleas that had come off the garb of the lady they were talking to. They gave him an impression of what they saw and it was quite unnatural. This was quite clearly something more than just another human doing stuff.

"There are many reasons, few of them remotely good. I can not lie, it does not get easier with the more I see, it just hurt more inside. People say they do get used to it, but in reality most just try to push aside the pain and fear. I however, can not. W-when I see it, I just want to... reach out and snatch the pain away."

There it is again with the irregular talking He was stirred out of his internal monologue as it seemed the blonde who's name was apparently Carissa was on the verge of tears. He was tempted to go over and give her a hug, comfort her some but he decided against it as it could be construed as creepy. Creepy was a common thing around him after all.

"Come now, let's not get worked up. We really oughta leave this to the guards, they've got a procedure for this." He tried to console the girl as he attempted to gently usher her away from the scene. His attention was only turned away from this briefly as the weird lady with the black ferret critters seemed to be talking to him directly.

"And... I'm really very sorry I frightened you... or made you feel worse through my foolishness. Just... hah... I wanted to say... no life is worthless... that is all." She seemed to say as she receded from their group.

"Yeesh, she sure does love her philosophical stuff." He casually brushed her parting words off, not giving any real sense of care for what she meant. He turned back to the group, addressing them as a whole.

"So yeah, I'd definitely say this whole dead body business is much too grim a thing to dwell on for now. I'm sure most of you are probably busy with important stuff seeing as you were all huddled together and what-not a minute ago."

His attention flaked off towards the earthen girl that, now that he was able to see her more clearly, was definitely made of earth.

"I must say I've never seen someone made of dirt before, let alone one who drinks alcohol."

This was probably not the best time to point that out. His future self would probably agree, looking back on this time wherever he might be.

Bashemath's main body sat motionless upon the earth underneath Abaranne's tree, leaning as if asleep as her attention was focused elsewhere. She was guarded by her two sacred beasts, Lumina and Tenebre, as well as the strange small whimsical figure she so lovingly refers to as Basalah. Something suddenly stirs, the beasts under her command like a vast nervous network all relaying back triggering various stimuli shaking her from her meditation. Wide eyed now she breathes in sharply, pupils dilated.

"It... it cannot be," she says in a hushed tone, snapping to her feet and snatching up Basalah. "Lights of brilliant colors, a wound in the veil bleeding a power of old, a sudden presence I've not felt before... do you know what this means?"

The small figure simply stares back at her before slowly raising up its arms shaking its head. Bashemath's face slowly blanks and sits Basalah atop Tenebris's head then frantically looks around then freezes and stares outwards in the forest then back at the bewildered creature, her arms drooping.

"Me neither," she admits softly, her tentacles curling up as her mouth curls into a grin. "It is something new... yet familiar perhaps? Whatever it may be, it is so... so very... very interesting! And oh, another? In my humble forest as well? I so love the attention today, not to sound so conceited."

With this she centralizes focus around her, the trees filled with her pets vigilant for even the slightly anomoly.

Kana looked over to the boy who addressed her, processing what he said. "Well now you have. I have never seen a fellow with so many bugs before. Do they eat you?" She wasn't sure if he knew that she could sense the creatures of the earth, but questions like that usually stop further questions, so she felt fine returning her attention to the situation. The lady who they thought could be hostile seemed more....sad. Downtrodden in a sense. She took at glance at her, at the dead body, then up to the roof where Tir'Ish was hidden. The danger had probably passed, so she gave a nod and then turned to Rey.

We need to get to that Ichor. Situations like these gather too much attention, and attention is dangerous. We should leave, and sooner rather than later.

Even for her elemental mind, it was taking a moment to go through everything that had just occurred. Dead body, a peculiar figure standing over it, a bug man, a cat-woman, a girl with a harp, and the god of energy watching the group. On top of that, she had a solid sphere of energy to throw into the Ichor once she got the chance. This is not what she was expected when the sun rose this morning, but Kana was glad for the new distraction in her life. It was just time to get moving.

Carrisa felt something on her shoulder and heard Ray speak to her. She told her not to force herself to go to the body. The unknown person who had found the body suggested that they leave this to the guards and gently ushered her away from the scene. With two people trying to comfort her, she soon smiled softly and felt as though she was not going to cry. "Y-Yeah! The guards can finish up here! Also miss, I agree with you. All life is precious! You did not scare me though...I was more sad at the state at the man. But...I feel much better now. Catch you later miss!" She waved back as they left the Alleyway.

As soon as she left the alleyway, she felt herself regaining her composure. Knowing that the guards could do that and the comfort two people gave her allowed her to recover fairly quickly. "W-Well! With that business over with, lets talk while we walk to the forest! I have music to comfort us while we walk!" Carissa spoke happily as she returned to her normal bubbly self.

As Edna continued to follow the trail of the unknown entity that had landed in this forest, she was actually thinking of calling out. She had no reason to just stalk the man until she found him, of course maybe the being would actually try and quicken his pace if he heard another voice. Maybe if she spoke out he might be willing to wait. However walking through the woods eased her mind, as a Goddess of life she enjoyed nature to its fullest.

As she continued her stroll through the woods, the path would soon go uphill. Hurrying her pace to see if she can find the unknown entity first, she hiked up the hill until she reached the end of the path. A drop at the end of the hill along with a city in the distance. She decided it was best to make herself aware, better to warn him instead of appearing behind him suddenly. "Hello! If there is someone down there please wait a minute please! I would like to talk to you! I mean no harm!" She called out on the cliff before hopping off of it and gently landed on the ground.

It had taken a while but Azeal was nearly out of this forest. Granted he liked it but he was eager to get to somewhere with people so he could figure out what was going on in the few decades years he had been away. Most of all he wanted to know what was going on with him. For some reason he could….feel, for a lack of better words, other beings. He felt the presences of a lot of small like beings, almost like him but, weaker in the way he felt them. Then there were others much bigger in their presences, strong almost like him but not. A lot of them were far, some were near, but they all felt stronger. He wasn’t sure what their intentions were but Azeal didn’t want any trouble. Things had changed since he left this world, for good or bad he wasn’t sure but he wanted to learn a little more before he made any choice decisions. Just as he was but a couple dozen paces away from exiting the forest he heard something behind him "Hello! If there is someone down there please wait a minute please! I would like to talk to you! I mean no harm!"

Azeal paused and turned around, the voice was feminine and upon closer inspection she was one of the presences he felt, one of the strong ones. Now he was conflicted, behind him he could see in the distance the city he was determined to get to. There lied many answers to the questions he had and maybe he could find where his own home was since things were so different. On the other hand while he wasn’t quite ready to deal with these strong like beings this one’s voice sounded, sincere and welcoming. Normally something to be wary of but something in her voice made her words more genuine. Azeal looked back to the city, then the direction the voice called from.Should he press on to the safety of the city or meet this being. Azeal pondered this for a moment before deciding to take a middle approach, let her come to him. If she was hostile he was close to the city where he could seek shelter and if not, maybe she could give him some answers before he went on his way. But how to contact her?

Suddenly his body began to glow a royal blue, he felt a feeling of hope fill him as he began to believe there might be something good to come of this meeting. He was well aware the Great Essences had given him a connection to two spectrums of their essence and how to control them was something he was working out. But for now it appeared one of the essences had instinctively helped him call out to this woman. Knowing she would come Azeal calmly moved to a pair of rocks that would make due for chairs and sat down, crossing his feet under his legs.

Now it was time to wait for his guest to arrive.

As Edna detected no further movement for the unknown entity, she gave a sigh of relief. Looks like whoever it was decided to stop and wait for her. She decided not to keep the unknown entity waiting, that would be poor manners to tell someone to wait only to take a fairly long time to get to them. She was thankful, it seemed that she would be the first to meet this strange entity, she was exited to meet something new.

Edna quickly picked up her pace into a jog, her excitement was a little to high and flowers began to sprout under her feet. She was not keeping her power in the best of control. But it was better than trees sprouting as she walked. Soon she encountered what was waiting for her, a man surrounded with a royal blue glow and he was sitting on a pair of rocks. She wondered, was this some sort of mage? Or was he another diety born from nothingness? No...A mage would not be that powerful enough to cause such a massive phenomenon. So the highest possibility was that he was a new diety.

Regardless Edna smiled at the man and as a sign of respect gave a curtsy in his direction. Once she finished she cleared her throat before speaking. "I would like to first thank you for waiting when I called out. I am pleased to meet you, I am Edna Wytrix, the Goddess of Life and Prosperity. I would like to personally greet you, even though I did not think that a being like you would come down from the skies." She spoke as she took a seat on a flat enough rock. Her exitment was still shown and small patches of flowers grew under her feet.

Azeal didn’t feel inconvenienced by the wait, oh contraire this gave him time to gather his wits about him before his guest arrived. But as she drew closer he felt her much clearer, her…presence, it was larger than originally thought. It was similar in size to his own but different, more full of life. When she arrived Azeal’s eyes widened, not so much at the woman before him who was very beautiful, but more the fact that where she stepped flowers and plants grew. She curtsy to him as a gesture of good manners before speaking "I would like to first thank you for waiting when I called out. I am pleased to meet you, I am Edna Wytrix, the Goddess of Life and Prosperity. I would like to personally greet you, even though I did not think that a being like you would come down from the skies." She spoke as she took a seat on a flat enough rock. Her excitement was obvious as small patches of flowers grew under her feet.

Azeal tilted his head in confusion, “Goddess?” He asked. A split second later his mind made the connection, “Oh!” He said his face changing to one of realization, “You must be another Rishon made by the creator. Or perhaps the offspring one of the others.” Azeal said. “I’m pleased to meet you Goddess Edna, my name is Azeal. I’m surprised you changed the name of your- wait.” He stopped as he realized what she said and then not giving her an opportunity to respond, “Did you say come from the skies? I can assure you I most certainly did not fall from the sky. What gave you the impression I came from above?” Azeal asked.
