A long time ago on a land named ignora, five islands know collectively as ente islands were ruled by both humans and demons, however their animosity often created clashes between the two races. The humans were numerous and controlled much of the land, the demons had little to nothing, until one day out of no where a demon known a Satan the lord of darkness began unifying the demon clans, as his army grew he appointed four generals to help him conquer ente island and make it a paradise for demons. First island to fall to the power of Satan was the south island, where Satan first general obliterated the human resistance. After that the east island felt to another of Satan's general, then followed the north and soon Satan was grasping victory however as Satan's general Lucifer prepared to take the west island, a hero emerged a hero who would kill Lucifer and start a campaign to regain the land the devil had taken from the humans. The hero quickly captured the north island, killing another of Satan's generals, then she captured the East island again slaughtering Satan demons. Humans began having hope and joined her forming an army an inquisition to fight the force of Satan. The hero soon took back all the land the humans had lost and prepared to launch her final assault on the demons king land the central island where all demon kind resided, the hero quickly made her way to heart of the land and confronted the demon king in one on one battle. The demon king was surprised that a human could come this far however he thought not a mere human could beat him, however the battle turned sour costing Satan one of his horns. The Demon Lord Satan and one of his generals, Alciel, escape the world of Ente Isla through a gate to modern Tokyo, Japan after being confronted by the Hero Emilia and her companions. However, due to the lack of magic in the modern contemporary world, both Satan and Alciel change into forms representing what they would look like if they were human. In order to survive, Satan takes a part-time job in a fast food restaurant named MgRonald while Alciel serves as his houseman. One day, Satan, who now goes by Sadao Maō, meets a girl who is actually the Hero Emilia, who now goes by Emi Yusa. The story then unfolds and explores the personalities of each of the characters and their moral values. More characters show up from Ente Isla and they too face the new world dilemmas, often comically.
