Setting

A sprawling metropolis of dilapidated buildings, all seeming to have suffered serious water damage over decades of time but still standing. The architecture tends to be reminiscent of 1930s art deco New York. Pools of salty water and puddles scatter themselves through eroded crevasses and potholes in the black tar roads. Water will frequently rise from the bottom up, flooding many of the streets and often a lot of the buildings. Even more miraculously, water will rain upwards in slow moving orbs, leaving the body of water it came from into the sky until it disappears into the Source.

It’s said this behaviour occurs when someone in reality is brought to tears, and that the streets dry up when people return to ease.

Time passes normally here, a rarity in the Source.

The rivers are running deep through the city. Most buildings up to five stories high are completely submerged, and the waters continue to rise as giant rain drops stretch from the surface up into the neverending grey skies.

Furble sits atop an innocuous apartment building with their legs dangling off. Wielding a wooden fishing rod, it is a glum sight as Furble seems to be alone up here with their head aimed down toward the fishing line, hoping very much to catch something.
