Description

Lavinia Akshasha

Image

Physical Description: As a drow, Lavinia's skin was ash gray, and her hair an unusual dark black color that had never been seen before in House Akshasha. One of her eyes had been white, the other red; a sign of the pact her family once made. However when she was sired as a vampire, due to the vitae now flowing through her veins, her eyes took on the bright yellow light of the beast within. When she takes pains to hide her eyes, such as through magic she usually makes them a non-assuming brown and rarely takes the eyes House Akshasha gave her. She is average height for a dark elf, measuring just over 70 inches, though still tall for a human female. She's rarely seen without her armor and fur cloak, and usually is carrying her beloved great sword. Her ears taper off and are slightly longer then the average elf before coming to a sharp point. Preferring glamour to actual make-up, and as such her only cosmetic accessory is a red hand-print over the lower half of her face.

Personality: After living for so long, and doing so much, Lavinia has grown quite removed from most human emotions. She still experiences rage, lust, envy, and certainly losing her beloved sword would necessitate loss, though perhaps not in the traditional sense of loss. Her superiority complex is abundantly evident, and bordering on an actual God complex. However she is also a terribly good liar, and knows when to turn on the charm when necessary, though it often behooves her to do so for gnats she could swat away with a thought.

Equipment & Abilities: Her sword; It lasted her centuries, though it had lacked a proper name when she commissioned it, the slayer of her enemies had since been lovingly named Back-Breaker. The sword was crafted by Dark Elf sorcerers and the demons they contracted to help them do so; it never lost it's edge, was impossibly heavy, and gilded with runes. The runes need to be charged, usually with the kinetic energy created through slaying, though sometimes directly from Akshasha herself. The runes can be commanded to release all the stored force, from any part of the sword to varying effects. The drow made the rest of her gear herself; the armor being heavily enchanted to ward off fire, and able to contain magical power like a battery. Her earrings, circlet, and rings also serve as magical batteries through virtue of enchantment.

Remnants of the pact House Akshasha made years ago, powerful magic still swirls in her veins, however it took the unholy Vitae of her sire to activate it. Lavinia has since had millennia to master it and has grown into quite the powerful practitioner. Though she still much prefers simply cleaving through people using her vampire strength and speed, when she can't be bothered she'll breathe life into the elements and watch them kill for her.

Historical Background: She had never seen sunlight before leaving her House, but she found that she missed that fact. Traveling to the surface world proved uneventful, and once she was in the open she vowed never to return home. Too much was to be done above ground in her short life, and Lavinia set out to make a name for her that wouldn't be overshadowed by the name Akshasha. However it wasn't long before she was targeted and swept up by a vampire named Swan. The two worked together as undead bandits for a little over a century before he up and disappeared on her. Lavinia searched the world and killed many looking for Swan but never found him.

So begins...

Akshasha stalked into the small diner, it was nice enough and though she didnt NEED to eat anymore; sometimes it was worth the wasted blood to enjoy a meal cooked with affection every now and then. The drow expended the necessary vitae to return her visage to one of human, and replicate the blush of life and a beating heart. Last, but definitely most important it hid the beast in her gaze, ensuring her fiercely glowing eyes didn't give her away immediately. As her eyes shifted into a sea green her long legs carried her into the diner she immediately noticed a tall, well-built man enjoying some form of roasted animal. He could be a lot of fun, big man plentiful blood... She smiled pleasantly as she walked over to sit across from him, in the same booth.

A waiter rushed over almost immediately, probably presuming she'd be in a hurry to order as her companion was already half-way through the Pork Roast. She flashed a dazzlingly perfect smile at the man, courtesy of her expended Vitae and true from as a stalker of the night. "Yes, um... Ribs; full rack preferably. My tab ~" The dark elf came here often enough that she had started a tab, as the local staff didn't ask too many questions nor seem to notice that she would never arrive with anyone but always left with someone. The drow's tab was currently in the negative as she liked to ensure she could stop in without worrying about carrying money on her. "Oh, and unsweetened iced tea please." She tried hard to not overdo the charm, as it was mostly fabricated and easy to turn on and off, but something about the man was better than the mortal Kine she usually found here; it pleased her God complex.

As the waiter hurried to put her order in, Akshasha turned back to Morbick. "Hello, I hope you don't mind if I sit here." The man was strong, very strong, evidenced by his powerful musculature. Something about his blood, smells... Delicious; almost intoxicating! Something very magical running through his veins. Dare I say ripe with magicka. She fought to retain cohesiveness as the man's scent was definitely intoxicating. "I was headed to Gambit's but stopped in for a quick bite before hitting the bar. If you're free a bit later..." The leech made a show of twiddling her fingers, and looking bashful

Morbick looked over at the dark elf, and nodded. He knew she was a vampire, and that she could smell the blood in his veins. He could feel her presence too, in a different way. "I am free later, though it is up to you what we do."

Askshasha smiled as the waiter hurriedly brought out her rack of ribs, and for a moment she could almost remember being alive. She turned a honeyed smile to Morbick and informed the barbarian, "Listen, I wouldn't want to keep you waiting while I eat. I've been told i'm a tad voracious. Maybe we could meet at Gambit's later? Say, the bar, in two hours?" Everyone seemed to know Gambit's, she wondered how long the building had sprawled out as it did. Supposedly it had once been quite small, Hard to believe now... Still holding eye contact, the drow waited for Morbick's answer, trying to restrain the needs to wolf down the entire rib-rack, bones and all.

"I do not mind waiting, but if that is what you wish,"Morbick said, sounding restrained. You could hear him trying to stop himself from doing something. He stood up, but awaited the drow's answer patiently.

The drow thought about what he said for a moment, before deciding, Oh what the hell! The slender thing tore through the rack of ribs viciously, savoring the sauce mixing with marrow as she crunched through it all in a flat minute. Akshasha took a moment to prestidigitation the mess from her face and hands before standing to join Morbick. "Name's Akshasha, just Akshasha. Shall we be going?" She gestured towards the door with a lithe hand, but waited for Morbick to lead the way.

Morbick was mostly silent as they made their way to Gambit's, not that Akshasha minded. The Strong and Silent have their merits. She wanted to fill the silence with something, but was uncertain as to what. Before long they began to approach The Gambit Building, the massive structure sprawling up into the Wing City skyline. The Dark Elf had to part ways with Morbick temporarily and deal with something in the basement bar very quickly. "Um, I have to drop something off before joining you. Any chance you could run up and order me a Moscow Mule?" She did her best to flash a amiable smile and considered casting a suggestion, but decided against it. He's been obliging enough so far, she thought to herself through the fake smile.

The drow made quick business of her dealings on the rooftop of the Gambit building. Recently it had become popular for less reputable folk to meet there, including some of the vampires who had trouble following the rules of their local Prince. Lavinia had but to flex a little before they were cowering and promising to be expedited to the Council for trial. She didn't bother ensuring they'd keep their word, as that was not part of her job description, and the young night-walker made her way to the ground floor to find Gambit's Bar.

The walk didn't take too much time, but Akshasha remembered thinking it should've been ample time to order their drinks. To the drow's mild shock, the barbarian was seated next to another young lady who absolutely wreaked of fetid blood. A slight twinge of annoyance crossed the Vampires mind, but starting fights in Gambit was poor business and frowned upon by the local Prince, so there was really nothing for it. At least for now... Besides, it looks like a bit of violence was already had here... And she's not a terribly unattractive little morsel, herself.

Only slightly faster than an Elf should've been capable of, the Dark Elf took a seat by the woman who appeared to be Lunari, placing her in the middle of the drow and Morbick. Akshasha leaned forward a bit to look past the Lunari as she sat, "Morbick! Sorry it took so long, did you happen to get those drinks yet?" Without really waiting for an answer she waved over the bartender and ordered a Moscow Mule, "Oh, and make it a double!" If she was going to spend Vitae maintaining human processes and blush, she was going to enjoy a little fire water while she had the chance

As much as it irritated her, she ignored the fighting, knowing that Gambit's had always been a little rough. She leaned against the bar and placed her head down against it, still sitting on the edge, out of the way of the bartender. Sighing, she ran her fingers through her brunette hair, her eyes closing just a little. The bartender moved back over to her and handed her another Mountain Dew before getting what the others patrons had asked for, including the double Moscow Mule. Gabby just nodded her thanks and sat up enough to drink.

"Wonder if I should start looking for Renee again..." She whispered to herself, her sister once again having disappeared. Was Liam still with her? She didn't know and that bugged her a little. Then again, there was a lot that was bugging her lately. Maybe she should just get into a fight and take her anger out on something instead of being scared and hiding, something she had been doing since being kidnapped, tortured, and drugged.

Morbick, an interesting, and quiet too ? Didnt seem that way as he was talking, but she didnt bother speaking of such thing, it wasnt wise to first thank someone for the help, trade names then criticse names when one might have just made a friend. And then the other showed up. First thing that Blackbird noticed was it was female, and trhe female was with pointed ears, naturally a fey critter of some form that Blackbird wasnt exactly in tune with.

But that didnt matter, no that didnt matter at all

What mattered was, over the may dozens of decades that Blackbird lived, she herself forgot how old she was and permamently looked early twenties maybe nearer to thirty. Being a bloodmage gave one extra perks when usiung the enemies blood to fuel their life span. But over the decades Blackbird had managede to reduce the constant beating hearts she heart to background noise, as ceaseless as it was she could pinpoint a person based strictly on their heartbeat if she had to.

And when this other sat down next ot her, with her between Morbick and this newcomer. The first thing Blackbird noticed, thatm ade her ear visibly twitch slightly at the sound, was a heartbeat

A heartbeat that wasnt like a normal heart beat, tired from walking, no, this heartbeat didnt even have rthe feeling of being windwed from battle or speaking and drawing breath. This heartbeat was too normal, too..... perfect, too in tune and beating abnormally steady beats. This was not a normal heartbeat.

But rather then say anything, Blackbird went for her wine and took a sip before going back at the pulled pork before her. Speaking a moment later to Morbick, "A name will fitting for one so honest" She mused aloud

Akshasha smiled warmly at the blood-stained lady, waiting for her drink before trying to address her or Morbick. The bartender placed a bronze mug of vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer before the Night Elf, and with inhuman grace she had snatched it up and poured its contents down her throat. It burned slightly, the Quintessence of her Vitae simulating life in her throat, and she found herself feeling much better after having done so.

"That hits the proverbial spot, certainly. Barkeep let's have uh..." She glanced over to the Lunari next to her, "A glass of what she is having, and a Pina Colada, Akshasha's tab." Like in the diner, Akshasha frequented Gambit's enough to have established a tab that was currently negative in balance. The bartender took her empty mug away and set about preparing her next round.

With the matter of drink out of the way, and having already eaten at the Diner not too far from here, Akshasha rested her elbows on the bar, interlacing her fingers and resting her chin on them. She then set about to bring her long plan to fruition, "So, my little white rose painted red, pray tell what is your name?" The Drow gave the girl in red a side-long look, flashing her most charming smile; her best attempt to seem cordial. The way the peculiar creature was bathed in blood would've sent the Vampire's heart racing, were it capable of doing so.

It was then that she smelt her. A LeBeau? The heady scent of mutant blood pierced the air, and Akshasha began to have a pretend sneezing fit, something she had been practicing for the past few centuries. Using her sneezing as an excuse, the Drow would turn her head slightly to feign sneezing into the crook of one arm, then the next; all the while stealing quick glances around the room until she saw her. There's my little freak of nature ~

With her index finger, the Drow idly traced a few sentences into the bar, infusing the motion which magic as she did. The magic would cause the words to scrawl themselves temporarily into the bar; though not where she had traced them, but rather right where Gabrielle was sitting. The Vampire would introduce herself to the mutant in a moment, for now a game. Lightly etched into the bar read the words:

'Days come and go
Feelings turn to fact
Sad even though
All hidden by tact
Feeling half complete
You seem quite beat
Knowing I can help; what are you looking for then?'

Morbick sat, sipping his drink while looking at the two women. He knew that the Drow was a vampire and that Blackbird was an immortal of some sort. He observed as Blackbird made her calculation of Akshasha, and the latter doing the same. He smiled the moment Akshasha made her attempt at Blackbird, trying to use her charm as a weapon to get inside of Blackbird's skin. He was actually quite glad that neither had realized what he was, as they would both probably hate his guts. His veins glowed blue for a moment, as did his eyes, but they quickly snubbed out. He hoped no one noticed, as it may raise questions. He knew that inevitably, someone would notice his lack of a heartbeat and the strange substance in his veins. When that came, he hoped that they would accept him, instead of attacking him.

Dark green eyes briefly flicked to Akshasha before going back to her food. As the bar keeper brought yet another refill the woman smirked as she ate, white rose painted red.... that's a new one Blackbird thought, then full brunt hit her. Little ?! Again the dark green eyes flickered to Aksasha before focusing on her food. "It all depends" Blackbird replied "On who is asking" The point was easy. Morbick had been kind in asking her name, but this.... fey thing, asked in such a manner that made Blackbird nervous, the unnatural perfect heartbeat driving her crazy already.

"For one who seems norma,l, a truly erratic heartbeat" She meant perfect, but she didnt want to tip off the fey into thinking she was onto her, Bloodmages could detect heartbeats perfectly, enough to drive someone insane with the constant bloodflow.

The steady metronome of Akshasha's heart kept rhythm as she sat for a moment to think things through. The short squat man that had just taken over shift from the last barkeep waddled over to the Dark Elf and slid her a glass of wine and a Pina Colada. She barely acknowledged him, the only cue that she hadn't missed him entirely was the way she idly lifted her hand and dipping a finger into the wine. She tasted the vino on her finger, before dipping it back into the glass and beginning to trace the rim of the wine glass with it, creating a light hum.

"Morbick! You failed to introduce me to your friend!" She playfully admonished the well-built northerner, before staring down at the bar counter, seemingly looking through it as if something terribly interesting lay just under the bar. For the first time since activating her blush of life, the Drow became painfully aware of her heartbeat; stopping her Glass Harp solo just long enough to take a sip and change the note that was humming.

With a wistful smile, she explained to the blood-stained lady, "I'm the dew of fabric softener in the morning that clings to freshly mowed astro-turf. I am the finger down your spine when all the lights are out. I'm the name that is whispered in hushed fear among criminals and Kings alike. When I cry the world bends to make me smile. I.... am... Akshasha, no relation." The Vampire smiled at her own joke; House Akshasha had gone extinct some centuries ago, much to her delight.

She took a long drink through the straw of the Pina Colada in front of her, watching it slowly begin to empty down to three-quarters, then one-half, and finally the last quarter or so of the beverage. Her heart rate lowered to a slightly slower, but no less regular beat, as her body pretended to be affected by the depressant. "So, how long have you two known each other?" The question spilled from her lips, addressed to either of them, while the Vampire arched her back and continued to idly play a dull note on her wine glass.

"Not very long," Morbick answered, sipping his whiskey. He found her banter to be quite amusing for a dark elf, as most dark elves had a more angry and hateful view of things. He exhaled deeply, with the air leaving his lungs being so cold it chilled his glass. "About as long as I've known you." He finished, taking another sip of his drink. He looked at both of them, smiling politely. Without realizing it, the iris's in his eyes began to glow a cyan blue.

As his slight malfunction was occurring, a woman stepped into the bar, slowly and quite embarrassed. She looked down at the floor, glancing up and around at everything. She shuffled over to the counter slowly, looking at all of the strange and creepy people. She wasn't normally like this, it was mainly the fact that she was alone and confused was what was having this effect. She stopped at the counter and looked around. So much tantalizing smells, She could smell both a mutant and a.....well that was an old smell. A familiar smell. She ignored it, passing it off as some fluke. She could also smell another one like her, except there was something to it. Something drawing her to it. Like it was meant for them to meet. She looked over shyly at the source, and her jaw dropped open. She was stunning. Drop dead gorgeous. She could hear her talking to a woman who she could tell was the mutant and a man. Her voice was amazing. She ordered a vodka, straight. The moment the bar-keep handed her the drink, she shot-gunned it. She ordered another.

Blackbird felt the low hum, as annoying as it was, the heartbeat was pretty much deafeningly not normal. The humming of the glass harp was annoying sure, but it was the heartbeat that was driving her crazy. A long moment passed, finally however Blackbird couldnt stand it. Raising a hand she said simply "The heartbeat is too perfect. Not natural. Undead ? Construct ? Cursed perhaps ?" Blackbird then turned to face Akshasha carefully as she introduced herself. An interesting way of introducing one self to be sure.

Well two could play that game, but instead, Blackbird simply half smiled in a John McClane way. As she did so her pulled pork meal suddenly seemed to be bleeding. Blackbird turned and delved right back into it. Speaking as she did so. "You are not natural. You seem..... too perfect." That old house had been destroyed long ago sure, after all Blackbird never heard of it before until that moment

But it was the suddenly bleeding food that Blackbird was eating as if the blood was BBQ sauce, which it had the look of, also the smell of, but it was infact, blood. Blackbird, being a bloodmage, made her own food bleed. Anything to kill the too perfect heartbeat. A word floated across her mind then. Vampire ?

Wait... what sorry what ? Vampire ?? Not possible, where Blackbird was from there was no such thing... But apparently the creatures of folklore were indeed real and she was speaking with one right there. When the new person arrived Blackbird paid little if any heed as Morbick spoke, he seemed protective of her all of a sudden ? Was it because the possiblity of this fey being a vampire that was having him so protective of her ? As a Bloodmage, there were few, if any, things that could take her down by blood uses, namely, vampire bites.

If Blackbird ever got bit by a vampire, she could turn the effect of the bloodsucking against said bloodsucker and turn them entirely mortal! Not that she wanted to try it.

But that heartbeat was.... annoying, and driving her crazy!

Finally after another good moment of silence and only eating bloodied meat; Blackbird simply said "Blackbird.... Mage" She didnt say what kind of mage she was, no, best left to surprise.

Blackbird began to voice her concerns and as the realization of what she was implying began to dawn on Akshasha, she lost her cool for a split second, and the wine glass collapsed under the sudden force she accidentally exerted on it. The glass shattered, and wine began to pool and lazily spill down the counter. "Shame... Barkeep, another?" The man nodded understanding and began to clean up the the mess.

Morbick's glowing eyes caught Akshasha's attention, and the distraction quickly returned her sense of self. She barely made note of another unique creature at the bar, ordering some strong spirits. A girl after my own heart! The Vampire nodded understanding at Morbick as Blackbird accused her of being too perfect. The Dark Elf's Vitae feigned blushing, an odd expression on the dark skinned girl. Akshasha giggled at the thought, biting her tongue until the Lunari introduced herself.

"A Mage, you say? Didn't they ever teach you that flattery will get you nowhere?" The Vampire giggled again, "What does too perfect even mean, wouldn't that be a contradiction. Too much of anything is a bad thing, and bad things aren't perfect." She finished the coy sentence with a wink. "And here I took the extra care to make myself appear as human as possible, what a downer." She played at pouting, but in reality was more intrigued than anything. The ancient lady had finally met some interesting people since leaving her sire. It had only taken Centuries? Millennia? She had forgotten.

"I'm an undead, yes. Stalker of the night, feaster of blood. I hadn't even considered what my heartbeat might actually sound like when doing this." She gestured to herself when she said 'this' as it to emphasize something.

"I'm surprised, actually usually Magi are infinitely fascinated with us, going so far as to seek out the Prince and his Elders to broker some sort of research deal. You don't seem particularly taken aback. What do you think Morbick? Is my undead nature unsettling? TOO perfect?"

Having spaced out shortly after being brought another ‘Dew, Gabrielle paid no attention to the different conversations being held nearby. Her fingers squeezed the bridge of her nose as she tried to figure out whether it was worth it to search her sister out. No one had heard from her for a while and she vaguely remembered there being a male involved too, but nothing specific was coming to mind. Why was her brain still so damned scrambled? Dropping back down her hand to the cold can, she hefted it up and took a few sips of the sweet nectar. Of course, she had her father to thank for this unhealthy obsession with the stuff, but it couldn’t be helped. It would take a lot to break her from the addicting substance and she wasn’t about to let that happen. No, there had to be at least something she could control in her life.

You dumbass…

Putting down the can, she started to slide off the stool to head into the back to check the stocks before something caught her attention. It wasn’t the sound of someone sneezing because she was used to that, no it was something else. Hating that she couldn’t place what was suddenly off in the bar, Gabby slid her fingers through her hair just as her gaze spotted sentences appearing in front of her.

What the hell…? The brunette read the words, her brow arching as purplish-red eyes scanned over the sentences a few times. Sitting up, she glanced around at the different patrons, trying to figure out where it came from and why. She didn’t understand and hated that she was so easily read. Fighting to force herself to present a fake façade, she finished her drink and slid to her feet, heading into the restroom to get a grip on herself. Maybe she just imagined the words.

It was the words that were spoken, blood sucker, night stalker. That got Blackbirds hackles up. Because only one word came into clear focus.

Vampire

It was not a bad thing that Vampires were indeed real, it was scary sure, but for the most part, Blackbird herself was protected against such things thanks to her magic abilites. But she didnt want to test those abilites yet.

The fact that this Vampire was interested in her being a mage, it was kinda silly, Wait there was another steady too perfect heartbeat ? Where was it coming from ?? That didnt matter, what she was slightly unnerved about was that the suddenly bleeding meat the woman was eating didnt seem to even tip off the fact of what kind of mage she was to the Vampire.

"White rose painted red....." Blackbird mused in a strange language, {Arendellian AKA really old as hell Norse} Was that the typical greeting of someone unknown trying to make friends, or someone aiming to spark a plan into motion ?

Finally in Basic plain english Blackbird asked around a mouthful of bloody meat; "Why do you seek a white rose painted red ?"

Her attention was then on Morbick as his eyes shined a beautiful shade of blue before returning to normal. Oddly, she found the sudden changes in his eyes, and also the viens on his arms shifting to a beautiful shade of blue to be quite.... mesmerising. Making him more akin to someone she could trust over a vampire.

But, why did the Vampire speak to her ?

Morbick turned Akshasha's attention to another predator as the bartender brought her another glass of wine. There was a girl in ebony armor, much akin to hers, staring deep into her soul. The Dark Elf locked eyes with the unique creature, and the beast within her began to howl with excitement. "I see..." The girl was obviously a vampire, the beast within would not have reacted in such a manner otherwise. Thanks to her sire's training, Akshasha was able to mostly control the beast, and it only reacted as such when it excitedly saw another, "Kindred..."

All at once her plan began to whirl faster than the Drow was certain she could keep up with. Suddenly there were many supernaturals in the bar and her carefully laid plan was running aground. The mutant had received her note and headed to the restroom to try and center herself, no doubt. The Vampire made a note of the where she went, but couldn't take her eyes off the Kindred. Akshasha rarely associated with other vampires, her Bloodline was renowned for being loners, vagabonds, and drifters. Did the Prince send her to keep an eye on me? Did she see what transpired on the rooftop? I refuse to experience True Death!

Her sea-green eyes burned with an angry yellow light, the beast within beginning to frenzy as Akshasha suddenly feared for her life. The Vampire almost opened her mouth with a hiss, before remembering she currently had no fangs and the motion would look silly. Blackbird asked her a question, which broke the spell she had been under. The bleeding pork tickled her nose, and made her feel a little hungry, even though she had fed right before going to the Diner. What a night... The beast began to settle back down slightly, she felt safe in Gambit's, perhaps Morbick would come to her aid if it came to it.

The Drow, finished her Pina Colada before answering. "I seek nothing anymore, Blackbird. Rather, it seems I have stumbled across serendipity." The Dark Elf gestured for the bartender, "Get her another vodka, on me." She said, pointing towards the other Vampire as she stood up. "If you'll excuse me I have to go freshen up a bit. Don't be such a stranger my fellow creature of the night, my dear friend Blackbird here is quite the anomalous mage. It seems she's one of the only ones who isn't constantly hounding us. She is in possession of a... unique set of skills."

Akshasha had waited for the mutant to enter the restroom, and now stalked after her, the rattled beast within making the motion seem more predatory than she intended while following the girl. "Excuse me, I think I know your father." The Vampire placed herself between the LeBeau and the exit.

Morbick continued to observe, as he slowly began to nod to the drow as she walked away. He knew for damn sure that two vampires in one place was trouble. He would begin to drop the temperature in the room gradually, and his eyes would return to the cyan blue glow. The other vampire notices him, and she begins to watch him as well." She is quite interesting." Morbick joked to Blackbird.

Angeline caught Akshasha's gaze, and could see that she might have thought she was hostile, so Angeline winked at her and smiled. She thanked her for the drink, but choose not to talk to the bloodmage or the....the name is forbidden to say. She caught the man's eyes and locked on for a moment. Angeline had to keep an eye on him, before he ruined her night.
