The Sea Elf Aquari moved silently along the bank of the river. It had been two day since she had left her village to scout up the river. Two days of nothing but trees and river. That was until the Shadow flew over.
When Aquari first saw the Shadow she dived into the river fearing for her life. It was there that she felt it and looked up seeing the Shadow was a dragon.
Sticking to the river Aquari followed the path of the dragon until she reached the lake. Staying under the water she listened and watched not daring to move for fear of being discovered by those in the clearing.

Cynder's expression calmed for a moment or two while this supposed "Green Warden" talked whom then took off towards the woods once more. She relaxed and simply just huffed and laid down on the ground. Her head went down and rested on her claws while she watched the woman leave.

"This is so strange. Where I come from, Dragons are revered and highly respected. In this world, my kind are little more then animals or outright evil. This is quite the perplexing land...I wonder if my mate was wise to bring us here"

She was about to continue that thought when the humanoid fell out of the tree and then proceeded to run and fall in an attempt to flee. She only blinked and gave an exasperated sigh with a roll of her eyes.

"There is no reason to flee little one. I am not going to be doing anything evil nor am I going to gobble you up. Are you alright?"

She asked, not even bothering to move this time around. Now she was simply sunning and laying in relative comfort and peace. If this creature was a threat, she would just make plans accordingly.

Parisa looked towards the lake for a moment, something had caught her eye, but when she went to have a closer look nothing was there. Could have sworn I saw something. She thought. Deciding it was just a trick of the light she stood up right and looked towards Cynder.

"I guess everyone is not so different than my family after all." She said, patting the snout of Cynder. "You have yet to show anyone harm and you would think if you did someone or anyone would have notice by now." It wasn't like she was fully innocent herself though, since she had too been scared and wondered into the trees, but then again she was also the one who first spoke to the large creature.

"Tell me of this place you have come from, Cynder. Is it far far away?" She asked, taking a seat next to her new friend.

Jo-Jo sighed and stood up, she had made an utter fool of herself again. She didn't want to be pitiful in the eyes of the Great Serpent. She could tell the Dragon hadn't been well received in this area, it was only a surprise to Cynder it seemed. Her ears pivoted to face backward when Cynder spoke. It was curious that the Beast seemed to be hurt that people were afraid.

"I-I am fine" Jo-Jo chuckled as she turned to face Parisa and Cynder "It shouldn't be a surprise, most Dragons burn and slaughter everything in their path in order to claim gold that is not theirs to claim" She sighed "I have seen the aftermath of Dragon Fire, I have seen the faces of those who won't ever forget the night the sky burned. I tell you, it's not something I would like to see again"

"That being said, you don't seem like type. In fact I think it's fascinating you have a mind that seems to be focused on more than just food and gold. I wonder, is it Genetic? Though you said you came from a different world and that your kind was revered, so that must mean you are Royalty?" Jo-Jo rambled and blushed when she realized she was talking too much, not that it could be seen under her fur.

"Ahem.....A-Anyway" She said clearing her throat, her ears flicking every so often "I-I-It is phenominal odds to come across not only a dragon but a fairy as well." She said, her long tail pushing on the ground to lift her off the ground. She crossed her legs and folded her arms as she sat on her tail "As a scientist I should relish in the opportunity you both present, but seeing as how none of my equipment works in this place, i'll just observe"

Jo-Jo's eyes flicked towards the Lake. Maybe it was a fish? It seemed pretty big. She, however, put it out of her mind and returned her focus to Cynder and Parisa

Aquari watched and listened the group. None of them seemed hostile...not even the dragon. Aquari studied the dragon taking in her form and features. The dragon was much different than the sea dragons of her home. What could this dragon tell her? Aquari wondered on this lost in thought until a school of fish swam by her foot.
Aquari got startled and her movement made the water move with a splash and ripples. Aquari dived deeper hoping the others didn't see her.

In the distance, the mountains that loom over the vale, a sudden explosive sound like a crack of thunder rolls over the land. This precipitates the explosion of a mountains peak, the shards of which race off into the distance.

A short interim later, a bright, coiling band of white hot energy snakes it's way to the place where the peak once stood. It flashes in the blinding brilliance of the sun, before fading away. In it's wake, the previously obliterated mountain peak is replaced, near perfect save for the distinct lack of snow that caps it's fellows in pure white brilliance.

A thunderstorm struck The Golden Vale.

The rains came down like they hadn't in ages, soaking everything and everyone in an instant. The entropy of magic across Gaia was felt as the rain fell, officially, by the magic users. Felt more by some, felt not at all by others. It was as if there was a leak somewhere. Where was the magic going? It couldn't of simply been disappearing...

This strange turn in the weather and the slight drain she had be feeling in her magic had caused Aquari to make her way back to the sea. She hoped someone in her home village would know what was going on. As she came closer to the sea a fear came over her as she saw the storms and waves... She hoped that her village was still safe.

Aquari wondered on more until she caught sight of strange ships and buildings along the coast. She slipped into the taller grass before the dunes and kept low so that hopefully no one would notice her. It was then that she felt her Blue Sea Dragoon stone warm and saw a slight glow of blue from the pouch it was held in.

There must be a dragon here Aquari reasoned.

Slowly she made her way towards the strange settlement and closer to the dragon she sensed nearby.

Urakena raised her great head from the waves, extending her serpentine neck so that the ocean cascaded off of her scales. She extended forward, but not too far, and gave Hethel and the horse a gentle sniff. Just beyond the dunes Urakena sensed another presence. Nobody here, it would seem, meant her any harm. A sign better than any of the others she had received as of late. As she rose her head and neck above the waters, Urakena exhaled a mist onto the beach, breathing deep the airs of Siv'en for the first time in a long time. She flexed her talons in the wet sand, enjoying the sinking feeling that came as the waves washed back over her shoulders and out to sea. However she had little time to enjoy such things. She came here for a reason, and wasn't soon to forget it.

The edges of her scales glowed faint in the dimmed daylight. Beneath the surface of the water Urakena's bioluminescence rippled into effect. The waves cast an aurora of light on the beach surrounding Hethel and his horse, having magnified Urakena's blue-and-green projections. She turned her head ever so slightly to look beyond Hethel and his village, beyond the dunes, to the Vale and what lied beyond. On the horizon, for a moment, the sky had turned white.

In that moment, a prophecy had been fulfilled. Urakena directed her attention back to Hethel in the dancing lights. Her voice was a deep cut with a whisper, like hot magma folding, steam rising into a boiling sea. Her voice rolled into the dunes and coastal grass, but the wind cut it off before it could carry too far. She was sure to speak so the hiding figure could hear.

"The sky has broken, child of man."

Urakena raised her great head from the waves, extending her serpentine neck so that the ocean cascaded off of her scales. Hethel was a statue, raising his head to look up at the enormous creature as she extended her neck, towering over him. Even the large white horse that Hethel brought with him now seemed dwarfed by the dragon's size, and yet even now she had not fully emerged from the waters. She extended forward, but not too far, and gave Hethel and his horse a gentle sniff. As gentle as one could be with nostrils the size of the viking jarl's head. Hethel stiffened his back and remained steady, gazing into Urakena's large blue eyes.

As she rose her head and neck above the waters, Urakena exhaled a mist onto the beach, breathing deep the airs of Siv'en for the first time in a long time. The horse was shaken a bit with fear as Hethel Svensson's long flowing hair was blown back by the dragon's hot breath, but the jarl kept his composure and did not move an inch. He gazed up at her, marveling at the beastie's bioluminescent colors as the water near the shore started flickering and glowing around her; purple, blue and green scales shimmering beneath the surface. This was a different kind of sea dragon from the other ones Hethel had seen. She was very horse-like and leafy with colorful appendages, having strange fans or fins which made her difficult to identify. Her body was wavy and serpentine, almost transparent, and she had glowing bright blue ridges which gave her a sort of magical illuminating presence.

Nearby, and unbeknownst to the vikings, there was another presence in the midst. For nearby behind them in the tall grass, hiding within one of the sand dunes was a small female sea elf, watching the lone viking and the giant dragon on the beach as they looked eye to eye with one another. Aquari became increasingly curious as she made her way towards the strange settlement and closer to the dragon. The edges of Urakena's scales glowed faintly in the dimmed daylight. Beneath the surface of the water Urakena's bioluminescence rippled into effect. The waves cast an aurora of light on the beach surrounding Hethel and his horse, having magnified Urakena's blue-and-green projections.

"The sky has broken, child of man" the dragon said mysteriously, her low pitched voice being very soft yet still enough to echo over Hethel's shoulders as he gazed up at her in bewilderment. "Broken?" Hethel called out, almost shouting so that the giant monster could hear him. "What do you mean the sky has broken?" he shouted, his Nordic accent still not as loud as the dragon's whisper. The flame on his torch would flicker as the dragon exhaled, causing Hethel to sway slightly. He would raise the torch in front of him to get a better view of Urakena, the reflection of the yellow fire glinting off of her large blue eyes as she peered over him into the horizon.

Engöll was still watching the encounter from the window of the great hall. The thick wooden beams supporting the walls were enough to muffle whatever the dragon and the jarl were saying, but Engöll could see that they were saying something, just by the way that Hethel was moving. The rest of the vikings in the great hall were still sound asleep, but Engöll kept a watchful eye, mentally preparing for the worst. Still, there seemed to be no sign of any danger to the viking settlement, at least for the moment.

As the sun peaked through the dark clouds, a golden ray of light seemed to hover over the beach. The whole sighting was majestic, almost surreal in that moment as Hethel tightened his grip on the horse's reigns, stopping the wild animal from bucking at the sight of the dragon as she moved. That was the very reason Hethel never mounted the horse to begin with, foreseeing that it might get spooked easily by the dragon's very nature. At that minute, something else crossed the jarl's mind. He was standing face to face with a dragon, something few vikings had ever been privy to, and for a brief second Hethel wondered what the monster felt like to touch. He didn't dare to try, however, instead thrusting his spear into the ground and wrapping the horse's reigns around it. It was a pure white stallion, wild and without blemish. The vikings themselves rode different horses, but this particular one had been set aside for just an occassion such as this. Wild horses were used by the vikings for sacrificial and ritualistic purposes. This horse was specifically bred for the slaughter, a very ancient tradition that was still being practiced by the vikings even now.

After tying the horse off to the spear in the ground, Hethel slowly stepped back. He wasn't sure if Urakena would accept the offering or not, but the gesture of hospitality was important to Hethel, and appeasing to the gods. It was the viking way, and very often the vikings would leave offerings for the gods and land spirits. To them it was the gebo effect, an act of giving, as sacred to them as life itself. Hethel stood by quietly, watching the dragon with caution.

Aquari couldn't help but stare up in awe as the sky flashed white. What did this mean?

"The sky has broken, child of man." came the dragon's words almost at the same time as the light in the sky.

Sky has broken? How can the sky break? The words confused Aquari. Why in the hells did dragons have to be so damn cryptic all the time?

It seemed that the man echoed her thoughts into words as he spoke with the strange seahorse looking dragon. Aquari crept closer to better and see what was going on. The strange man it seemed was offering his horse to the dragon. Some sort of peace offering or perhaps a eat my horse and not me type of thing.

Aquari shrugged off the thought for now as she crept forward staying in the shadows of one of the buildings and below any windows just in case others like the man on the beach where watching. Though she figured the dragon could sense her Aquari wasn't sure it was safe to show herself quite yet.

Urakena glanced at the small woman as she crept closer along the beach. Her eyes did not linger; the woman was not perceived to be a threat. The sea dragon returned her attention to Hethel. She brought her great maw, though yet closed, closer to Hethel and the white horse. Urakena regarded the viking again. She looked him over closely, seeming to look through him, down to the depths of his life force.

From the belly of the dragon, a soft hum. Urakena closed her eyes. Her scales rippled with light again, dazzlingly brilliant for an entire moment. As they faded to their normal glow she opened her eyes again to gaze down upon Hethel. There was something changed about those eyes. For a moment lightning seemed to dance behind them.

The waters of the Empyrean sea frothed as, in one fluid motion, Urakena unhinged her jaw to close it over the white horse. She reared back and again regarded Hethel, and swallowed. For another long moment the sea dragon and Hethel stood as such.

The offer had been accepted.

Urakena began to descend into the sea. The waves churned and crashed over her form as it plunged back into the depths. She let out another sigh. Bubbles and foam boiled out from her face forming a little puff atop the waves. As the last of Urakena disappeared below the crashing waves a cloud of stark white seafoam floated to shore; and while the bubbles would first reach Hethel, it was not for he they were intended. Within the mass lie something unable to be grasped by any other than a being blessed by a sea dragon.

However the sacrifice of the Vikings did not go unnoticed by the stars, or forgotten. In the sky a cloud formed, taking the shape of a great white horse. It pranced in a circle, lightning hoof-prints and a great neigh of thunder, before taking off south towards the Exalted Mountains- towards where the sky lit up so brilliantly just minutes before. A chill blew in from the north, on it's breath a name, Hethel.

Urakena glanced at the small woman as she crept closer along the beach. Her eyes did not linger; the woman was not perceived to be a threat. The sea dragon returned her attention to Hethel, who did not appear to notice Aquari as she crept closer behind him. Hethel watched speechlessly as Urakena suddenly devoured the wild horse right in front of him. The unwitting stallion didn't even know what had hit him as the serpent seemed to swallow him whole with one quick snatch, breaking the horse's reigns over the mighty spear shaft. Hethel was stunned, and could only watch as she descended back into the waves, followed by a splurge of bubbles.

All of a sudden, Hethel thought he heard someone call his name from the distance. He turned to look around at the great hall, just one blink after Aquari hit the ground to hide in the tall grass just outside the outer wall which enclosed the viking jarldom. Hethel never saw her. At that point, a great white cloud formed taking the shape of a storming horse. It pranced in a circle, lightning hoof-prints and a great neigh of thunder, before taking off south towards the Exalted Mountains and towards the sky. Hethel could feel a slight chill moving in from the north as he peered up towards the white sky, deciding at that moment that he should leave the settlement and go up into the mountains.

Engöll watched with relief as the sea dragon descended back into the water. It was at that moment that he spotted something else from the window of the great hall. There hiding in the shadows crawling around the outside sheds was what appeared to Engöll to be a young girl, or at the very least, a short woman. She seemed to be snooping around, and to him she looked to be sneaking around the settlement. Engöll watched Aquari quietly, taking a sip of hot tea before setting his cup down on the table and turning to look at the bow and quiver on the wall above the hall entrance.

Aquari's jaw dropped when she saw the Sea Dragon eat the horse in one fell gulp. Such power... What happened next was a bit confusing to Aquari. The dragon left almost as soon as it had come and it was replaced by a cloudy horse that seemed to catch the man on the beach's gaze.

Now is the time too move Aquari thought looking to the sea.

Aquari started to move when she noticed some kind of creature a ways off a wolf perhaps. It was talking and seemingly looking for something or someone.. Hoping it would catch the attention of the village she scurried out keeping low and heading towards the sea foam unawares that someone was watching her every move.

Hethel could feel a slight chill moving in from the north as he peered up towards the white sky, deciding at that moment that he should leave the settlement and go up into the mountains. Engöll watched Aquari quietly, taking a sip of hot tea before setting his cup down on the table and turning to look at the bow and quiver on the wall above the hall entrance. Aquari the sea elf was unaware that she was being watched as she headed down towards the water, but soon Engöll would step out of the great hall and exit the main gate, following close behind her elven footprints in the sand. Meanwhile, Hethel would make his way back up the bank towards the ringfort, using his long spear as a walking staff as he headed towards the viking fortress.

Aquari kept low as she tried to go unseen, but Engöll was already on to her presence. He followed downwind, his strong sense of smell detecting her scent in the high grass as he followed her tracks on the ground. At that moment he also caught another strong scent, and one that was quite familiar to the ulfhednar. It was a lone wolf, a common animal in these parts, and one that the wolfcoats could relate to. The vikings on the Empyrean Sea Beach were all members of the ulfhednar, a cult of pack hunters who lived, breathed, ate, slept and even sometimes looked or acted like wild wolves. Engöll himself was wearing a grey wolf's pelt as he sank low, crawling on all fours through the tall grass in an effort to sneak up quietly on the elf in his sights. To the unweary traveller, Engöll himself would appear like just another wolf in the area.

But after a few minutes of following Aquari silently, Engöll got close enough to see his target in full view. It was at that instant that he caught a glimpse of Aquari's face for the first time through the tall grass. To his dismay, however, she did not appear to be threatening to the settlement in any way. Still, he had to find out why she had been snooping around the tool sheds, acting so suspicious. Engöll took a deep breath, notched an arrow to his bow, closed one eye and drew back his bowstring. "Stöðvaðu, ekki hreyfa þig" he said, stepping forward from out of the tall grass about nine yards away from Aquari, keeping the bow and arrow aimed at her torso.

Unusually enough, the stark white seafoam mass stayed upon the sands when the rest of the sea retreated. It picked up on the wind and floated. Small little distances. No more than a meter or two at a time. There it bobbled and swayed towards the sea elf. It caught a gust and rose up higher than the heads of Hethel and Aquari. It slowly floated down just as again lightning coursed through the sky, illuminating something within the sea foam.

Aquari had been too focused on whatever was calling her toward the sea where the dragon had been that she almost didn't sense the viking coming up behind her. She silently cursed herself for not paying attention as she turned around to see the viking with a bow and arrow pointed at her. He spoke some strange words that made no sense to her at all.

Aquari looked to the sea and then back at the viking. She could make it she was sure. She thought of the trident on her back or the sword on her hip... no would be too slow. The blue stone in her bag pulsed as if it sensed the danger and was ready for it's power to be released...

Aquari though took a step back raising her hands before her she said. "I mean you no harm i was only trying for the sea...unseen..."

It slowly floated down just as again lightning coursed through the sky, illuminating something within the sea foam. Jarl Hethel was walking back up the slope towards the ringfort, completely oblivious to Aquari's presence when suddenly he paused to look down and admire the glowing light within the sea foam. He smiled light-heardedly, taking in the sight for sore eyes, the beautiful colors within the tiny bubbles causing his mind to relax.

Aquari had been too focused on whatever was calling her toward the sea where the dragon had been that she almost didn't sense the other viking, Engöll, coming up behind her. She silently cursed herself for not paying attention as she turned around to see the ulfhedinn with a bow and arrow pointed at her. He spoke some strange words that made no sense to her at all, but his body language was clear enough. Aquari looked to the sea and then back at the viking. She could make it she was sure. Engoll took note of Aquari's sword and trident, but when she turned around to face him with her hands raised, he became even further convinced that she wasn't much of a threat.

Engoll lowered his bow, but kept his arrow notched, pointing to the ground. The elf's words were unfamiliar to him, causing Engoll to tilt his head quietly as if confused. "Af hverju, þú ert bara stelpa. Hvað færir þig hingað? Ertu týndur?" Engoll's questions sounded concerned. He would take a second to scan her over with his eyes before speaking again. "... Veistu hvað er að gerast við öll þessi undarlegu atburði?" he asked, watching the sea elf for any sudden movements or anything that might seem threatening to him. Engoll was unaware of the illumination in sea foam, as he kept his gaze on Aquari with interest. What was a young girl doing snooping around a viking camp by herself? Where were her parents? Did they send her to get help? Was she a thief, a spy, a herald? Or just a hungry orphan in need of protection? In any case, her language was unfamiliar to him, so she couldn't have been sent by the king. His curiosity heightened.

Aquari looked to the sea. She looked back at the viking. Slowly she took a few steps towards the sea as she made a gesture with her fingers that looked like walking. "I am just going to walk to the sea." Aquari said her hand making a wave motion.

Aquari started to slowly move watching the viking to see if he would raise his bow. It was about then that the sounds and strangeness of sky happened. It was at this moment that Aquari darted towards the sea.

The white puff of sea foam almost seemed to glow as Aquari drew closer. It clung to the sand, but slowly detached as the wind kicked again and carried it even closer to the sea elf.

It was then the skies over the sea far in the distance darkened. The waves began to pick up as out at sea a storm brewed. It was unusual, how fast the storm descent upon the sea, but something great was happening out there in the waters.

Litla stelpa, bíddu! Sjórinn er hættu--" Engöll Corysson was suddenly interrupted. "Engöll, what in Odin's beard are you doing?" Jarl Hethel asked, walking up over the grassy hill towards him with a look of curiosity.

"I thought I told you to wait inside," the jarl said as he stepped up on top of the slope. Hethel Svensson had not noticed Aquari at all as she took off and disappeared towards the sea. Engöll turned his head to look at Hethel, then back towards the beach. "There was a little girl here just a second ago," he replied, looking for Aquari again. "A little girl? Out here? In the middle of nowhere? I think you need to sleep my friend. Your mind will play games with your eyes out here. Come, we have new business to discuss" the jarl said before heading towards the great hall. Engöll would take one last glance back at the waves before putting his arrow away and turning to follow the jarl through the wooden fence to their encampment.

By now, the other viking ulfhednar were beginning to wake up. Hethel and Engoll entered the large open hall just in time to see Fudørn, Stryder, and the others getting motivated. The vikings would lite a fire and eat a seafood breakfast before going to work. Hethel debriefed all of them on their current situation and gave each of them a specific task to do. "Fudørn, you will be in charge while I am gone," Hethel said abruptly as the vikings were going about their different jobs within the camp. "Gone? Wait, what? Where are you going?" the wise man asked. "There is something I must do," Hethel said while grabbing his heavy wolfskin coat and fur snowcap. "Take care of the gang for me and look after the ship. She's your responsibility now," he said before opening the doors and leaving the great hall in a hurry. "Wait! What about the--" Fudørn never finished his sentence before the doors slammed closed.

Hethel grabbed his spear again, using it as a walking stick as he headed off by himself towards the Exalted Mountains...

The sky had raged, and the sea boiled, as the cataclysmic maelstrom stretched across the horizon. Tornadoes dotted the sea, stretching from the thrashing waves and into the hurricane like massive fingers. Lightning danced among them, bouncing between heaven and ocean. Then, just as quickly as the storm appeared, it fell inward as if it was sucked down a massive drain. It collapsed into a horizontal cyclone that snaked across the sky like a gargantuan serpent.

A dot floated in the sky at one end of the strange maelstrom. It hung there for a moment, suspended by unseen forces, and there was a flash of light.

Boom.

A dull roar drifted through the air as the serpentine storm structure shot across the sky towards Siv’en and the Exalted Mountains. It drew closer. The heavens roared with a fury unseen in countless generations as the speck, now revealed to be a floating mountain, screamed through the air like a meteor.

RRRRRBOOOM!

A blink. A single moment. The mountainous projectile passed overhead, leaving a shockwave that flattened the tide and disintegrated and clouds in its path for miles. Mighty gales cast off from the stormy contrail crushed trees and rolled boulders as it passed.

Then it was gone, leaving untold destruction and collateral damage in its wake.

Makshab wandered a lonely road far from home. His family had taken his new mission as well as could be expected. Though they were sad to see him leave, they understood The Call could not be ignored. He did not dare risk their lives on the open road, proselytizing to the pagan natives, and risk becoming martyrs. It was with teary good-byes that he left them in the hands of his brother to protect and provide for them.

One year. That was the oath he’d given them. He would return in time for Remembrance Day and the first harvest. If he did not return, then they were to wait for one moon before assuming his death.

He pushed those thoughts out of his mind. Makshab would heed Ha’Ari’s call and would trust in the path before him. If it was his fate to die for his god’s service, then he would submit to His will, but Makshab had faith he would be protected on his journey.

Makshab leaned on his staff and continued going wherever the road would take him.

Empyrean Vikings - Hethel's Saga

House of Hethel: 1st Generation:

- Hethel Svensson the Dragontamer (king/founder)
- Fudørn Ivansson the Wise (jarl/shipbuilder)
- Engöll Corysson the Archer (jarl/mapmaker)
- Stryder Alvirsson the Horseman (jarl/spearman)
- Sjonn Jonasson the Skald (poet/lyre player)
- 50 other personages (unnamed)

Hethel Svensson and his band of ulfhednar had once served Ungrulf "Ulfric" Ellrufsson aboard the Örmbátur longship as members of the House of Ellrulf in a time since forgotten. After the extinction of that family line, Hethel Svensson inherited the Nuörmbátur longship and became a jarl under the late great King Sigurd the Ringtaker of the House of Munso along with all the original ulfhednar who had served the previous household. Fudørn, Engöll and Stryder were promoted to jarls. Sigurd Hring sent them forth in the Nuörmbátur to establish a new colony along with Sjonn the Skald and 45 other Vikings whose names are unrecorded. They established a settlement on the Empyrean Sea Beach which flourished and evolved. After the death of King Sigurd and the Iskjerne Vikings, the new colony chose Hethel Svensson to be their new konung or sovereign. King Hethel the Dragontamer ruled peacefully for his entire reign and was praised after he died of old age, being given a large burial mound close to the Empyrean Sea Beach known today as Hethel's Barrow.

House of Hethel: 2nd Generation:

- Ingvar Hethelsson the Highruler (king)
- Ivaldi Fudørnsson the Alchemist (jarl/inventor)
- Gudrød Engöllsson the Hunter (jarl)
- Vindal Strydersson the Rider (jarl)
- Finn Sjonnsson the Poet (skald)
- 200 other personages (unnamed)

King Hethel was succeeded by his son King Ingvar the Highruler, who also had a peaceful reign. King Ingvar was a younger contemporary of an elder Ragnar Lothbrok in the days of old. King Ingvar would expand on his father's kingdom by building upon King Hethel's original establishment. Fudørn Ivansson's successor Ivaldi would become a famous inventor at that time, having purchased a magical purple crystal from Volund the Archer, one of the ljosalfar who had stumbled upon it by pure chance at Iskjerne Forge and sold it to Ivaldi in exchange for silver, along with many other broken remnants of lost technologies that King Sigurd had once confiscated from his Taiyou enemies in the days of old. Ivaldi wasted no time in studying and reverse engineering some of those technologies, using magic and a bit of Nordic alchemy. Using a mineral solution to grow more crystals on the surface of stones, Ivaldi greatly contributed to the accelerated advancements of the Empyrean Sea Beach settlement, helping the House of Hethel to jump several hundred years ahead of Gaia's other Viking settlement at Iskjerne Bay.

House of Hethel: 3rd Generation:

- Svein Ingvarsson (king)
- Auric Ivaldisson (jarl)
- Korri Gudrodsson (jarl)
- Alvis Vindalsson (jarl)
- Jona Finnsson (skald)
- Ásvald Ulfsson (karl)
- 500 other personages (unnamed)

King Ingvar was succeeded to the throne by his son King Svein, who continued to expand the House of Hethel and grow his kingdom. King Svein was alive during the fall of the House of Munso under the rule of Ivar the Boneless, but did not get his own kingdom involved. Instead, he used his resources to order the construction of 3 magically advanced longships that could leave the planet and sail through outer space. The first ship was called the Stjorndrekr (star dragon). The second ship was called the Stjornkona (star maiden). The third ship was called the Stjornhestr (star horse). At this stage the Empyrean Sea Beach settlement had grown tremendously and evolved into a small nation, or Type II civilization that was fully capable of harnessing the natural elements in their local star system and utilizing Gaia's native magical defenses, something that the Iskjerne Vikings had tried to accomplish with the Hreggdreki longship many years before them but had failed to do.

During the reign of King Svein, a terrible event happened in the heavens which shook the mountains, leveled forests and left a huge shockwave of destruction throughout the land. By this time, however, the Empyrean Vikings had expanded their kingdom and had established such mighty and powerful defenses that it was able to withstand the storm brought on by the meteor as it passed overhead towards Siv'en and into the Exalted Mountains before crashing in the distance. To those peaceful Norse settlers behind King Svein's walls, it felt like a powerful earthquake. But the kingdom did not break. After the waves stopped rolling in and the earth ceased to tremble, and all the debris and thundering storm clouds had rolled overhead, the walls and towers of the Empyrean Viking settlement were still standing. After some time, life returned to normal and before King Svein died, what little forest that had been destroyed was already starting to regrow.

House of Hethel: 4th Generation:

- Halfdan Svensson (konung)
- Fudørn Auricsson (jarl)
- Engrel Korrisson (jarl)
- Goffre Alvisson (jarl)
- Snorri Jonasson (skald)
- Thorvald Asvaldsson (karl)
- 2000 other personages (unnamed)

After the collapse of the Iskjerne Kingdom under the wrathful Titan deity Sigurd the Divine, during the time of Ivar the Boneless, the distant colony on the Empyrean Sea Beach just kept getting stronger and stronger. King Svein was succeeded by his son King Halfdan, the current ruler of that kingdom. King Halfdan was now the sovereign of a dynasty that had lasted four whole generations. Like his father and their fathers before them, Halfdan Svensson was a wise and peaceful king. He had skalds who could recall the legends and sagas of such famous heroes as Harald Wartooth, Ellrulf Trygvirsson, Hethel Svensson, Sigurd Hring, Ragnar Lothbrok, Bjorn Ironside, Harald Fairhair and others whose deeds served as lessons and teachings to the Empyrean sea king.

Halfdan the Great was a follower of Odin and a lover of wisdom who prayed to the gods and made daily offerings to the elves and land spirits. He would continue to provide a sanctuary for all the dragons, dwarves, unicorns, witches, pagans and exiles in his kingdom. In return, he received blessings from the land as the forests grew taller and the gardens grew fuller with an abundance of crops and flowers. Song birds greeted him with their beautiful songs as the grasses flourished above Hethel's Barrow and over the hillsides. There were many pleasant springs and ponds where frogs, fish and turtles nested, where crickets, ladybugs, bees and butterflies fluttered during the summer months, and the Empyrean Kingdom seemed like a quiet remote paradise. Life was good, and the Empyrean Norsemen lived without care, farming and crafting, forging and living in leisure without any needs or concerns.
