A Knight entered; Artis Elerras of Freeport, City of Adventure. Right now, however, he was elsewhere... He was here in Gambit's Bar, to be exact.

Standing tall and well-built with a collared coat over a suit of light armour made of both leather and metal, the man who had two swords strapped to his back proceeded to the counter and sat down.

"Wine, please," he requested as he pulled out a few pieces of coin.

Artis Elerras heard what the pirate said and found himself sliding his gaze across to her. "Mayhaps it's wiser not to say these things aloud while in the presence of the public?"

As his drink arrived, he turned back to it and began to gulp it down as though it was the first he'd had in days. That wasn't the case though, because a man like him tended to live in pretty moderate comfort wherever they happened to be in the world.

"Ah, magic," he commented when noticing Odgerel. "I hope you can control it, I'd prefer not to be caught in an explosion."

"It's fine, I'm not in here to look for trouble, Sir," he answered the Pirate. Though just in case, he made sure to shift so he could feel the shifting weight of his weapons. They made him feel a little more comfortable, as it were.

"So, friends," he began as he turned to address the bar. "Might I ask about any opportunities I can find in this city? I'm a particularly adept slayer of monsters, so if some form of ogre or dragon needs taking care of, please come and find me."

"You seem to be suggesting I had a solid code and that I'm afraid to deviate from it or judge things on an individual basis," he answered the pirate with a shrug as he went back to his drink.

"I'm capable of making my own opinions and judging based on them. For instance, you seem to be some sort of criminal - does that make you evil? Some people could just hear the label criminal imposed on you and say that you are, but I'm not so quick to judge."

"It's not my concern what you do in your spare time," he answered as he stood and proceeded down to a dining table with a menu. There was no point in going hungry when the place did food, after all. So he picked up the menu, opened it and scanned the contents until he found something meaty.

With a steak chosen, he placed the order and sat back to wait with a sigh.

Artis Elerras pushed open a set of heavy wooden doors and entered the area, light flooding in behind him in a spectacular fashion as the silhouette of the experienced Knight stood under the frame and peered on in at the other competitors.

He said nothing, merely stepped forwards and let the door swing shut behind him. With expensive armour, a blue cloak and two swords strapped to his back, he definitely looked ready for whatever this hunt would throw at him.

Taking a breath, he approached the group.

"Artis Elerras, of the Order of the White Flame of Freeport," he answered, giving a slight bow. "I am here for the hunt."

Well, that was extremely obvious. The problem was in the fact he couldn't actually think of any other way to introduce himself and his intentions. His partner seemed to have done an okay job with it; seeming far more relaxed than he was. Artis, on the other hand, liked to remember he was actually in the presence of a Queen and should behave as such.

She wasn't exactly his Queen, but he knew his place was to be as humble and compliant as possible for as long as his boots were on Vien land.

"I appreciate your concern for your husband, but I can assure you we will be perfectly fine against the Gargantuan. We hardly need an extra hand, my friend."

He nodded to the Queen also, so to acknowledge that he had listened to her. "Yes, my lady; I entered to prove myself to my fellow knights. I would wield the white flame in their name, and the name of my King, and in the name of the creatures I slay."

"I... Am not entirely certain what is happening here," he admitted, peering at the Queen as though she could provide some clarification. "Who is fighting in what party, here? I believe the games are about to begin so this is quite an... Urgent matter."

It wasn't really though, because Artis knew the wait would serve only to build the crowd's momentum. Being late was in style, after all.

Good spirits and conversation had The Hangover humming. It seemed everyone was discussing the Hunts, arguing over slaying tactics or betting on champions. Laughter erupted from the bar, where a flush-faced man basked in the glory of a jest well said. "Paladinner" had been the perfect punchline.

The door opened and closed as people moved in and out, heading to and from the Lac Long Quan arena no doubt. As one drunk left, another sober man entered to fill his gut with burning smiles. A long shock of white hair emerged to take a look around when he brushed off his hood. The man hastily knotted the unruly tresses at the nape of his neck, then plopped into a seat by the bar. His green eyes glistened as he eyeballed the trinkets and pictures on the walls. Gargantuans fascinated this man, truly. He broke concentration long enough to order a drink with a water back, then resumed studying the establishment's collection of memorabilia.

Artis Elerras was sitting down at the bar counter, a small clay pot of clear liquid between rough hands that occasionally he sipped. He could understand how excitable people were getting over the Hunt, of course, it was such a huge event that men from many cities flocked to the Arena to watch it and, if brave and skilled enough, take part themselves.

He was one of the latter. He seemed calm, as though he had done it before so often it was becoming a chore. In reality, he hadn't participated once, and he had yet to have his first 'match'. He had been training though, and he was looking forwards to proving himself to his fellow Knights.

"Another drink, Sir," he told the Barkeep.

"Here for the hunt?" A semi-redundant question considering, but the standard ice-breaker all the same. Rosh eyeballed the clay pot, waiting for his own clay pot of delicious to arrive. It wouldn't be long, for The Hangover had a great turnover rate. How else was the place so successful?

Rosh pointed with a knobbled finger at a photograph on the wall. It was an older picture of a dead Gargantua hanging from the starboard wing of a space shuttle. "Dagernei, that one they called. Remember the story?" He asked the lad, sizing him up as elders tended to do.

"Nope. Never heard of it," he admitted, finishing off his drink and then eyeing up the old man. He looked strange indeed, possibly dangerous and quite easily insane. He almost pitied the old man; way past his prime and likely completely reliant on his children.

He knew he should have more respect for his Elders, but seeing strong men turn weak and frail disgusted him. Still, there was a question he had yet to answer, so with a smile he answered it.

"I'm taking part in the hunt, Sir."

"Takin' part in the Hunt and you've never heard of Dagernei?" The white haired man shook his head with a grim smile. His wooden bowl arrived, and he took a long sip while lounging back.

"Dagernei, the first Gargantua to fly," The older man chuckled at the thought, "Can't make it up! Took it up, up, up above the Stage," A hand rose into the air in demonstration, "Then-" SLAM! He slapped the counter harder than expected of a man his size. "They dropped 'um. Now, he didn't splat, but the fall knocked 'em good enough. It's still argued today whether Dagernei died from the final killing or the flight and drop."

He winked at the young man and took another swig. "When ya fighting?"

Kayera Altona lies sleeping against the door, dressed in a white two piece. Each breath fills her lungs and is accompanied by an obnoxious snoring. Her body has an odd color to it, a wooden pigment that seems more fit to the inside of a tree than a person. Her Hair is ash white and cut short and unruly. Her skin is smooth, save for several scrapes and bruises that adorn her, as though she fell and tumbled a bit before coming to rest on the tavern door

Aneres Coreveon entered the Hangover, closely followed by two escorts. They were armed beneath their pastel plainclothes. The Princess was dressed in flowing garments which she gathered upon entry. There was an evident crowd. Two patrons rose from where they were and went down on one knee, bowing to their Princess even in a foreign land. She smiled them off, not realizing she was about to bump into a peculiar person indeed.

"Ooh!" She backed a step away from the woman in the two piece, "Pardon."

Kayera snorted loudly as she woke, then shouted an obscenity at her waker. "Whats your issue trying to walk on people, you can get yourself in big trouble trying that crap lady."
The rude young woman pushes herself to her feet, belches loudly, then looks around at the crowd gathering around the woman and her entourage. "You some kind of circus freak?"

A single hand, fingers splayed, fell upon Aneres's bosom as she took another step from whoever this woman was. Her guardians, not amused, began to shuffle the crowd around. They made room for Aneres to make safe passage away from whoever this way, but the Princess held firm.

"Pardon you, now-" Princess Aneres Coreveon was swiftly interrupted by a male guardian, "Your presence was apologetically overlooked by the Royal Party of Princess Coreveon. Kindly, if you'll excuse us."

"Princess your fat white ass, And I'm not moving an inch. What makes you think you just wake me up with your noisy collection of circus freaks, and the way your dressed, who dressed like that going to a BAR?!! Come to think of it, what princess is gonna come to a bar anyway? Don't you have your own private castle with all kinds of cheap, skimpy, puffed up princess drinks for ya?"

Aneres was about to drop her skirts when she felt him grab her wrist. Looking deep into her eyes, he compelled her not to provoke those beneath her. Before she realized what was happening, the Princess was whisked away into a corner booth. She could be heard muttering for a moment, followed by the male guardian's voice. He meant to sooth her, from the sounds of it.

"Somethin' new every day," Rosh Zenzara commented from his perch at the bar, finishing off his drink and sliding it off for another.

Cackling as the guard ran off with his princess, Kayera followed them inside and made her way to the bar shouting out, "Look out! He's got a damsel in distress, and he don't know how to use her, Ha!".

Aside from the rude awakening, This day was going sweetly for Kayera.

A few patrons laughed at the jeer, while a few more shook their heads in mild disgust. In the end, most settled back into previous discussion. There were many murmurs of the great Gargantuan Hunt. Another drink was set before Rosh. He didn't notice it, at this point absorbed in a slow motion replay of a fragment of a match in the Lac Long Quan Arena. Idly the old man sipped, studying the construct of the creature.

In the corner, Aneres Coreveon ordered a glass of prikka milk. She had never had the stuff before. It was said to be much like coconut milk, or the liquid one found in a cactus, with cooling properties not unlike the touch of aloe. The Princess was undyingly curious. She had developed a recent fascination with sampling local cuisine.

Kayera Altona stepped up to the bar and sat down, then stood up and shook her waist, apparently attempting to remove a wedgie her bikini had crawled up. She sat down again, a little more comfortably, and ordered a jar of acid.
At the bartenders pause she nodded to him "Yes, Acid, opposite of base, lethal of biological organisms, if you can't find it, then just bring me something strong enough to kill a horse or two."

Rosh raised a brow as the strange woman took up residence near him with an even stranger request. Who was this scantily clad lady and what was she doing here?

"Here for the hunt?" He asked her with a half smile, taking another drink and jerking a thumb towards the televisions.
