Two Invictus ATWs travelled along the path slowly, the men and women inside peeking their heads out of windows in search of their target.

The mechanized walkers were comparable to camels. If camels were metal and armed with machine guns.

"I know it's our first outing as the new team, but you all don't have to look so... depressed." Arya told her team, the Invictus soldiers seeming to have no want to be on the job.

"It's cold." One of them said, "Ya'll can handle a little cold. I'm from Atlanta, I can." Arya noted, "We should sing a song for the ride." She suggested, simultaneous groans filling the vehicle.

The vehicles came to a stop, no movements made by the soldiers inside. The back of the vehicles opened, soldier after soldier piling out. Each dressed in armor and clothing designed for the cold.

"Where to, Bones?" A soldier asked Arya as she climbed out, "I'll take a few guys and continue forward in search of the troublemaker. The rest of you stay here." Arya ordered, gesturing for a few of her team to follow her.

The woman led about seven soldiers towards the paths that wouldn't allow their vehicles to pass. "What's the wildlife like?" Arya asked, "Could be bears, wolves, the usual." One of the female soldiers answered.

"Bears, wolves and some crazy person. Sounds like Terra to me."

The rocks hit the ground near the soldiers. They stopped, searching the area for any signs of their target or dangerous wildlife. "What do you think it was?" A soldier asked, "Wind knockin' rocks loose?" Arya asked, pointing up. "We're climbing." She told the soldiers.

The team began to ready their ice hooks, they couldn't risk going back down to their vehicles and grabbing more while they were so close.

For all they knew they were losing their target right now. Maybe they were too slow.

"Alright. We spot eachother. If you must, carve out places to plant yu feet." Arya said, slamming her ice hook into the surface of the mountain.

The woman pulled herself up, pressing her boots against the slippery surface. "It's good enough for now." Arya said, "Let's go!" The woman used her other pick to pull herself higher, alternating between the two quickly.

She and her team were careful despite their speed, a fall might be their death or might be them leaving without a prize.

The summit was close, but maybe it was nothing. For all they knew the person they were looking for went down, maybe they saw them coming and found a way to get around the Invictus vehicles.

No. Arya and her team needed this capture. They were the replacement team. They would be better than The Commander and his team. They had to be.

Arya continued on up the mountain, her speed increasing as the thoughts raced through her head. It was time to prove to Stryfe, to everyone, that they weren't just the B-Team.

The woman was close to the summit, hooks digging into the ice and rock until she could begin to pull herself up to what she hoped was solid ground.

"Are we going to do this the easy way or the hard way, girly?" Arya asked, picking herself up slowly.

"You can speal English?" The Invictus soldier asked Maria, stepping closer to her slowly and carefully. She didn't want to spook her. "The people down there say you've been giving them a hard time."

"We ain't here to hurt ya', just here to take you somewhere safer. Those people will Frankestein you soon enough." Arya was mostly lying, but for all she knew the mob was forming right now.

"I have to take you with me. The people need to know you're no threat." Arya said to Maria, taking a few more steps closer. "I promise we won't harm you if you decide to cooperate."

"But..." Arya began, "I will have to get violent otherwise. Bring in you with force." The woman informed Maria, "What will it be?"

"She's coming in with us." Arya said as the soldiers were situating themselves after the climb. "We just got up here... nowe have to climb back down?" One of them asked, palms slamming against a his face.

"You can grab your dagger or whatever. Don't use it on us, we'll be forced to use our own weapons." Arya told Maria, "We're going back down."

Arya and her team made their way into The Palace's lobby, most of their gear for cold weather discarded in favor of something lighter and less likely to cause them sweat profusely once they were inside.

Buckets of sweat in the hotel lobby wasn't cool. "We need to discuss you with our bosses." Arya said, "Stay in the lobby, I'm going to go ahead and see if we can get in touch with Phinx or Stryfe."

"We have to figure out what to do with you." Arya told Maria, pulling her arm away from the woman. "Don't grab me like that again, lady. I don't like it." The soldier warned Maria.

"If you want to you can leave. We ain't holding you hostage. But, if you screw up again we might be forced to use force, you feel me?"

"Whoa! Handle your dog!" One of the receptionists shouted to Arya, pointing towards the charging Maria.

Arya moved forward quickly, holding both hands out in front of her towards Maria. Almost instantly energy shot out from her palms, the energy taking the form of a net.

The net was intended to wrap around Maria and keep her from charging any further. Also, to keep her from doing any damage to the lobby.

The net would go over Maria, to get in front of her. In most cases one would run right into, but this time would be different. "Bad dog!" Arya shouted, yanking her hands back. This action jerking the net back as well to force itself into Maria.

Arya's team approached Maria slowly, weapons raised. "Non-lethal." Arya ordered, keeping her hands raised just incase she'd need to yank the net again.

The last thing they needed was Maria tearing out someone's throat in front of children and civilians.

"Wolf lady. Calm down. Take your beef somewhere else. This is not the place. We'll be forced to put you down otherwise. You want to leave to take your battle this lady and her people?"

"If you do, calm the fuck down."

"Stand down, little lady." The southern woman told Maria, not afraid to stare her down as she lowered her hands. The energy net dissipating as she did.

"Now, what's it going to be? Die here or live to fight your battle?" Arya hated having to be the one to do these kinds of things. If she could have just let Maria out on Main Street she could have been at home eating pizza and watching The Notebook 2.

"Alright." Arya said, "Sorry, wolf lady." She said, the soldiers raised their weapons on Maria. They had switched to their non-lethal rounds, but they would have much rather shot Maria to death.

The men and women opened fired on Maria, the tips of their bullets opening as soon as they left the guns like claws. The claws were intend to latch onto flesh, clothing, hair or whatever they could on their targets.

After a moment they would send electricity into their target's body, disrupting their nervous system for a moment and incapacitating them.

Hopefully Maria wasn't holding in pee.

"Take her to Sonia." Arya order, her team and other Invictus security moving to lift Maria. "Double time." She added, the group carrying Maria down one of the hallways.

Anodyne and her team stood on a street corner, flanked by the fans they had gained thanks to their part in Militia duty. Though, they had to admit it was only Anodyne that brought them attention. She was a real life superhero at this point.

"This is the Veritas, Team Ripper and any other available Invictus operatives, we have CCTV footage of an attack on the WCPD headquarters." Said a woman's voice into the communication devices of Team Ripper and any other Invictus who were wearing them or had them turned on.

"Respond immediately, we're contacting the NPA, other Militia and any other available police officers who may not be on the scene. Move quickly."

"You heard her, get in the vans. We have to go." Preston ordered, he and the team rushing towards their vehicles. Anodyne stood behind, looking in the direction of the WCPD headquarters. "Anodyne, come on. We're going." Chemo shouted to the woman as he got into a van.

It was then that Anodyne shot off into the sky, then towards the WCPD HQ.

"Holy shit..."

The message ran high and clear in his ears, and the man found it appropriate to follow it as quickly as he could. She had been located, and it took scarcely any time to get there.

He had descended from a rooftop, not far away, the red of the eye barely anything to take note of. The grav-boots allowed him to land silently.

The eye, the eye, it shuffled through settings as he looked around. He knew Team Ripper was not far behind, but he took no hesitation to getting to the door, body completely coated in a black substance, plus the armor. Most of which was for decency, and a sense of style.

He wasn't all that worried, regardless.

Kiro Takahama grasped his rifle and waited for the order, swallowing a moment. "Tennoheika Banzai." He said calmly, then he looked up, and an explosive charge was placed on the front door. The countdown began as two Tsunami Tanks pulled up in front of the station, along with a pair of Sudden Transports.

Four Tachikomas situated themselves along strategic points on the street, Imperial Warriors and Conscripts stacking up around the station, their movements drowned out by the four Jigabachi AV Attack Helicopters, armed with missile racks, and tail mounted 30mm Cannons.

"This is Jet Tengu 103, I've got a target inbound, I'm engaging now." The Pilot radioed, trying to get behind Anodyne.

"Tengu 103 weapons hold, we do not have clearance to engage Anyone but the target and their security."

The Jet Tengu got in behind her, but it did not open fire.

"Let the Terrans make the first move, this will justify inclusion of their world in our campaign to the Emperor."

Arya and many other Invictus rushed through their headquarters, grabbing weapons and armor. Heavy armor. Big weapons. Something was going down. "Come on. Double time!" Arya shouted, "It's going down, the Taiyou are attacking the WCPD. Stryfe wants only the best of the best out there handling this fight alongside our Terran brethren." Arya yelled, "Some of you here are Terran yourselves, fight like you have nothing to gain and everything to lose."

Arya said, already decked out in her heavy orange armor. "Once you are ready find your teams and get out there. Do not engage until you are engaged."

"Eh... I don't know about you, but... we'll take who we can use. Just make sure you wolf out on our enemies only." Arya said, "We're going in by bird." She told the woman, "Follow me." With those words Arya turned, jogging down the corridors wither other Invictus who were also on their way out to the fight.

"I hope you don't mind flying." Arya shouted back to Maria. Men and women were yelling like drill seargents, guns and files being tossed around the complex casually.

This was all routine. This was something they had gotten used to. It was nothing to them at this point. "If you're going, go." An Invictus soldier told Maria, holding a rifle out for her.

"Consider this... training day."

The Kaze no Tani initiated it's landing protocols, and began re-entry through the Atmosphere. The ship bucked and shook as the Commandant grasped the railing.

"Landing ETA, Five minutes." A White clad Lieutenant advised, as the ship bucked, shook and rattled. Those on the ground directly around the WCPD would hear a deafening series of booms, which would come dangerously close to shattering nearby windows. The massive Shokaku class carrier, the Kaze no Tani soared overhead in a brilliant fireball, lighting up the city below and throwing up Taiyou morale as they prepared their charge.

The Ship nearly clipped the top edge of several buildings before it came to rest within the lake, in a massive plume of water, steam, and an audible hiss of water. As the ship settled in it's landing spot, it's massive deck guns swiveled to bear direct aim on the WCPD Building, before a handful of Jet Tengu launched from the deck, followed by a squadron of A6M5 Reisen fighters, which circled the building with the Jigabachi attack helicopters.

"We're ready for bombardment." A lieutenant reported, and Ayako nodded.

"Batten down the hatches and prepare for close-proximity surface nuclear engagement."

NPA aircraft and vehicles began to crowd the area, more Invictus vehicles following them to the scene along with several helicopters. "That's Arya and her people." Preston said as he and several other members of the team carried a large RPG-like weapon.

The soldiers aimed the weapon upwards at the Taiyou helicopter, "This is Ripper-1, we're engaging all Taiyou forces at will. Holding fire is no longer an option." Preston said, seconds letter a beam of dark blue energy shot out from the weapon quickly at the helicopter Motoko had exited from earlier.

The beam seemed to distort the air with an intense heat as it moved, the mixture of energy and plasma attempting to overload any shielding the vehicle had until it breached to the hull to do any real damage.

As this went on and more combatants flooded the area Anodyne stayed stationary, watching the Taiyou spacecraft carefully.

Anodyne was probably crazy for facing off with the ship. Or cocky. Or stupid. Like a Rattlesnake she waited to strike at her prey.

Motoko Kusanagi stopped in her tracks at the sound of an explosion, the Major narrowed her eyes and then checked the Cybercomm.

"Commandant, the Militia and WCPD Agents have neutralized the Conscripts." She looked out and shook her head. "And they're shooting at our helicopters." She said, grabbing her C30. "This whole thing could be avoided if she just came quietly." She said, of course being a combat hardened cyborg with no organic parts, she wasn't worried about the strange smoke.

The Helicopter went down in a plume of smoke, the Terrans fired the first shot, which justified Taiyou retaliation. Preston and his team would find two Jigabachi AV Helicopters bearing down on him, launching missiles from their wing mounted missile racks.

The Missiles would sear towards them and impact in a brilliant flash of light, and a powerful explosion vaporizing anything in it's immediate area. Nearby buildings were forced outwards and began to collapse, as a small fireball mushroomed into the air.

The Jigabachis followed up on the survivors with a fusillade of 30mm chaingun fire, tearing through most vehicles, chewing them up.

The Jet Tengu moved on the NPA Vehicles. "Weapons free, we are now officially in a state of war with the TNG." And they moved to harass and shoot down the NPA Vehicles, which of course likely didn't stand a chance against the Taiyou onslaught.

The Major interfaced with Casey's phone, and she would find it ringing.
