Attello Hasting

Symbiotic host of Anima, despite being otherwise dead for over 2500 years

0 · 508 views · located in Main Street (Continued)

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Chuckles

Description

Name: Attello Hasting
Age: Died at age 27 (~2500 years dead)
Gender: Male
Height: 6'1"
Eyes: Hazel

Physical: Strongly built but not overly muscled. His skin is slightly tan and he has the face of a man who has worked many hard days. His eyes tell a tale much older than his body looks. His hair is kept shortly trimmed and he keeps a light beard.

Mental: Attello has had time to go through some major changes in his mental state. He has become a cool individual though he learned to enjoy the company of strangers. He tends to not get to involved with those who are mortal while at the same time not really relating to those who are immortal. Many lost friends over the years have made it hard for him to cry over loss of life, but his sense of compassion for those who still do is no less diminished. Deep down there is still a seed of insanity, planted there by Anima, an urge for the things that drive the monster, the very chaos that keeps him alive.

History

Attello Hasting died. That is a known fact, there were witnesses to the event.

It is hard to tell how Anima came to him, or how exactly it managed to return Attello to life. What is certain is that Anima is bound to Attello just as much as Attello is bound to Anima. Attello is the key to Anima's ability to travel beyond the confines of Aris, its realm of origin, to which it was supernaturally tethered. On the other side Anima is the key to Attello's very existence in the Multiverse.

Attello can channel Anima's power to an extent, mostly manifesting in telepathic abilities, including the ability to direct pain or pleasure directly to a persons nervous system and mild psychokinesis related to creating mental shields to protect against physical attacks.

Attello Hasting pushed the door of the bar open and entered. He stood for a moment at the entrance and took in his surroundings. He had traveled to many places, this wasn't so unlike some of them. He decided it would do and made his way to the bar though he didn't order anything.

Attello Hasting eyed the conversation going on near by. A hostile vampire, interesting, might make things entertaining if something got out of hand. He allowed himself to gaze in the direction Van [/b]Basil[/b] and Giselle to see where this might lead

Attello Hasting Attello smiled, it had been a while since he did anything notable, anything that really involved, well more than simply living. "Some one more appropriate, like someone who couldn't say, die." He spoke up in a mellow nonchalant tone in reply to Basil's suggestion

Attello Hasting turned his body to face the group but didn't stand, "Who is this vampire you're wanting to bring down? Other than a killer, I gathered that much." He looked at Van "I'm not going to simply jump up from my chair to go catch a nameless spook."

Attello Hasting half turned away from Van less interested in someone who stalked women based on some pop culture reference, "Sound something like a coward to me." He thought for a moment, might as well figure out were this coward was supposed to strike next before writing it off to far. "Where do you plan to catch him then?" he asked more drily

Attello Hasting returned his attention to the bar, "Well, it seems as though you don't need any help until you find a suitable bait." He shrugged, "Unless you now plan to hunt him down with out the element of surprise, and I hope you are not so foolish, even a coward of a vampire deserves some caution." he looked at Van I'll be around if you do find yourself someone willing to be the bait, clearly the lady here is not."

Attello Hasting let Van go off on his quest to find someone to help him track down this so called killer. He noted the woman who had suddenly disappeared, in her place was now Isabella who had entered in the normal fashion, via the door.

Attello Hasting knew something was different, he didn't know if it was intuition or simply Anima paying attention from the shadows of otherworld. The woman before him suddenly intrigued him. He leaned toward Isabella "You will forgive me, I've been contracted, for lack of a better word, in the capture of some criminal or another." Attello looked toward the stairs. From what he understood he really wouldn't be needed, but he had told Van that he would come along.

Attello Hasting noting Van's return to the bar level Attello mentally belaying his former apology for leaving. "Sometimes I fail to understand people." He thought out loud before Isabella offered her name. "Attello," He replied, he wasn't sure what had interested him in this woman, but he was keen to find out. "Attello Hasting."

Attello Hasting smiled, realizing now at least what was interesting about this woman. She knew he was dead. "I haven't been summoned, for I have never truly left the world of the living." He contemplated his explanation, a feat that was impossible considering in all the years he had been attached to Anima he never knew how it was that he was still 'alive' as one might call it. "It is something I don't truly understand, a case involving an entity from beyond this realm of living." He looked at Isabella "A Symbiotic relationship I suppose."

Attello Hasting noted her statement concerning the bar before she offered him a drink. "From time to time." He replied, "I've come to enjoy Scotch, similar to a drink we had when I was, truly alive." He looked around the bar, "This place brings its share of strange visitors I take it?" He asked Isabella as they waited on the Bartender to come take their orders.

Attello Hasting smiled at the womans bluntness, it was indeed much faster. "So tell me, Isabella, how is it that you knew I was dead? Anima does a good job of keeping me more or less alive despite keeping from me the actual method. I doubt if it even knows itself."

Attello Hasting points to the bottles, "Thank you kindly, we hadn't seen anyone in service. You bartenders do tend to get overly busy from time to time." He replied to Kisa "My apologies."

Attello Hasting cocked his head slightly at the term "Necromancer". He had never had a taste for one who dabbled in the dead, reanimating bodies quite frankly gave him the chills, but that had been a long time ago. Now, for all intents and purposes, he was one of those bodies. Sure his case was different, he was trapped in limbo, fully himself, not truly alive but never fully dead. It haunted him at night, knowing that his soul was bound to Anima. "I have been like this for over 2500 years, not dead, but not alive. I claim my body as my own, my thoughts. My soul is far from me, and yet with me at all times, just like Anima" He took a drink, let the alcohol burn his throat slightly, "It see's this world from the shadows of another, so far away and yet over my shoulder always." As Attello said this his gaze fell upon a strange doll one he had not seen previously.

Attello Hasting nodded as Isabella told him about herself, but his mind was ripped away by a voice he knew did not come from an outside source. He stared at the doll, he was accustom to telepathy, but not from such an, unlikely source.

Attello Hasting shook off the encounter with the doll, what ever it was it seemed to have left him for the time being. He turned his attention back to Isabella "So sorry, I must be dreadfully boring, off in my mind." He took another drink and eye'd the room, "So then, what is it that you Necromancers do for fun when you're not waking up those of us who are less well off?" he smiled, it wasn't often that he was open about his situation, but with someone who could literally see the fact that he was not alive he might as well make the most of it. He had to admit, it was almost refreshing to admit that he was dead.

Attello Hasting entered the bar to the sound of gun fire, luckily he had been outside when the shot was fired. He took in the surroundings, "Seems lively tonight." He smile, a bit of chaos always seemed to brighten his spirit, a trait he had gained over the years from Anima. Walking up to the bar he found an unoccupied stool and filled it.

Attello Hasting focused his attention on Dread as the thing burst into flame attacking Sorlis. It intrigued him, the thing before him, but he kept his distance for the time being.

Attello Hasting aloud his eyes to when Dread was pulled into the ground by some hellish hand. It was at this point that he noticed the cause of the unusual tremor that had rattled the city. While he was interested in Dread he was more than interested in this new creature, and whats more Anima was interested in him. Attello rose slowly and began to walk outside until he stood before the creature, Maleficus.

Attello Hasting subconsciously had formed a barrier around himself to ward of any debris that may fall near him. Maleficus's expression never changed but Anima knew he had taken note of Attello.

"I have walked this plane of life for near three thousand years. Many things have passed my eyes." Attello responded to Maleficus's inquiry. "I am but the part of a whole. The Anima resides in what realm it pleases, and it pleases itself to find interest in you. It does not confide in me the reasons why." Attello's voice was calm and casual but amplified through his mind so that while others might not hear unless they were close to him Maleficus would hear clearly.

Attello Hasting smiled at the request this time. Perhaps this was why Anima was interested in the being before him. It had been some time since it had come to this realm, perhaps the power in this entity before Attello had stirred him? "My fate will be different from any other because Anima wills it to be so." He spoke, a grin crossing his face. "High and mighty is one who brushes aside all with out thought, and with out thought are all before their fall. Anima may have been one of use to you if it had shown interest." He fell silent and turned his back to Maleficus, content with what he had learned, he would go his own way.

Attello Hasting watched unaffected as the destruction around him continued, he simply focused on the barrier around him which cause him to levitate slightly as the earth shook below him. He still had no knowledge of what Anima had in mind following the interaction with Maleficus. He knew that weather it be for or against Anima intended on encountering the being again. Attello smiled wickedly, no matter the terms he was sure that the ever chaotic Anima would not allow such a moment to go by in any manner of uninteresting. Attello allowed his gaze to rise toward where Maleficus had ascended once before turning to enter the bar, his mood surprisingly more alive than it had been previously.

Attello Hasting made his way toward the bar but couln't help pass by a group talking. He noticed that one had a nasty looking wound in her leg and turned to approach them. He heard them speak of Dread and his mind went instantly to the being he had seen burst into flames earlier. He would have to inquire, but he shook his mind back to the current and adressed Primrose "Miss, I don't mean to interupt, but you are wounded." He noted her leg.

Attello Hasting looked down at the girls ankle. While he could have simply shrugged it off he felt that it was odd that someone would think they were perfectly fine while bleeding. "I hate to inform you of this, because it'll probably start to hurt momentarily, and your conversation here does seem important." he looked down at Primrose's ankle again, "But if you would do me the simple favor of looking at your leg, I believe perhaps adrenaline is masking the pain. You are making a mess of the floor though."
