A young fire knight

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by DragonDunc

Description

Image

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Class: Wielder-Knight

Abilities: Wielder Knights are a class of magical warriors capable of manipulating and, effectively, being one with, a certain element, material or, possibly, even an item. Brand’s affinity is with fire. Like other wielder knights, he has both a human form and his ‘awakened’ knight form. A wielder knight in human form looks just like any other human, however some aspects cannot be disguised, for example their eyes are usually a giveaway.

In this form he is able to manipulate his element to a high degree, even being able to change properties magically, such as solidifying fire and creating weapons. Coming in contact with fire or heat does no harm and can even strengthen or heal him (A few enchanted varieties may exceed this rule), however prolonged contact with fire makes it difficult to stay in human form. Cold temperatures and water will make Brand very exhausted and tired, as well as damage him more than other elements.

In knight form, he is essentially one with his element, taking on the form of a set of armour made entirely of solid fire. In this form he is considerably more powerful, his raw magical power and manipulation skills are fully unleashed, however weaknesses are also increased. A lot. Abilities can vary for different wielder knights, however most (including Brand) have the ability to change their shape at will, since in their alternate form they’re made of the very element they can manipulate.

Appearance: In human form, Brand looks fairly normal. He has charcoal black hair, cut short and kept tidy, light skin, a slightly angular face and generally looks unremarkable. Except for his irises, which are bright orange moving to a deep red edge. They also seem to glow sometimes. He is about average height, probably just below 6 ft.

In his knight form, he takes the appearance of a rather imposing set of armour. He is a couple of inches taller and glows orange. He’s made of fire, after all. Flames constantly pour out of the gaps in his armour, concealing whatever he looks like underneath (if there is anything). He usually has a large great-sword, just over 4 ft long and about 1ft wide, the hilt looks like a phoenix with its wings outspread and ancient symbols run down the blade on both sides; it is the same solid fire as the armour. Of course this would be a completely impractical weapon if not for his control over the material. He often takes a phoenix or dragon form, too.

Clothing: Prefers plain clothes without text or brands, usually going with a pair of blue jeans, a plain t-shirt and a dark grey zip-up hoodie.

History: Brand grew up on some random planet, with nothing unusual about his life (apart from his magic training). After training with a combination of fire-play, sword-play and transformation spells, he eventually unlocked his abilities and left to try and find work.

So begins...

A young man with coal black hair and fierce orange eyes entered the building, sitting down at the bar and ordering some kind of strong drink. He wasn't enjoying it, if the faces he made while taking worryingly large gulps was anything to go by. Still, he persevered and finished the drink, shuddering.

He sat back, taking his time to look around the bar to see if there was anyone he could ask for advice. While he'd only arrived recently, it was surprising he hadn't actually visited the bar yet, it being one of the most well-known locations in the city.

Then it started happening. "Oh no" he muttered, as he scrambled off his seat, covered his mouth with his hand and sneezed violently. A small blast of fire erupted into the bar, leaving a smell of burning alcohol and a few slightly befuddled faces.

"Well," he said to himself, oddly happy, "I suppose it works after all." Fortunately, nothing had been hit by the fire, although he had almost hit one of the patrons, a dwarven warrior sitting in a corner of the room. "Sorry" he said automatically, sounding...mildly sincere.

Honestly, Brand thought to himself, how have I ended up here of all places? He had only meant to get groceries. Sighing, he looked around. This must be the under-market he'd heard of.

Just as he was debating whether or not it was legal to actually be here, he caught sight of something in the distance. In fact, it was more like he detected it from a long way off.

Fire. And a lot of it, at that.

He quickly threw his precautions aside, running through the stalls as panicking people rushed past him the other way, careful not to let any thieves take advantage of the situation.

Finally it came into view. It was spreading fast, and what appeared to be some sort of heavily armored person was approaching a woman standing before the fire. She was holding a knife and had a dangerous look about her, and it seemed she was responsible for it. He couldn't possibly get close, he would have to bring the fire to him instead.

Rolling up his sleeves (which immediately fell back down), he reached out his hands and made wave like motions. the fire began to move to the rhythm, back and forth, back and forth, until a small stream of it broke off and began moving toward brand, he was very slowly siphoning the fire toward him. He would likely get attacked for trying to foil the arsonist's plans but he now had a weapon he could use.

As Vercerigo searched for the cause of the fire from his perch on the low roof of a building, he noticed a woman with a knife who was yelling at some sort of female android cop. The cop appeared to be warning her about something. He assumed that the lady with the knife definitely had something to do with the fire, and prepared himself to move in.

As he readied himself, a man in a grey hoodie ran in out of nowhere and, after looking around confusedly for a second, appeared to be drawing the fire toward himself. His eyes flicked back over to the arsonist. Although she may not noticed it now, she would definitely notice it in a couple of minutes, and would probably try and do something to the guy in the hoodie.

He straightened and twisted the black ring on his finger, exploding into black smoke and reappearing again about five feet in front of the guy in the hoodie. Turning, he said with a small grin, "I'm Vercerigo. Keep doing whatever it is you're doing, and I'll try and keep that crazy lady from reaching you." He turned back, raising Exoletus, and held it in a guarded position. He would be ready for her when she came.

The nerve, the fucking nerve of that defiler, how dare he try rob my Goddess of her life. Thankfully I wore a poker face and no one realized the second fire, which unhindered was spreading, my Goddess and beloved would destroy all those who dared paw and fondle her without permission. She belonged to me, no one would harm or extinguish her, her whispers and dances innervating to my core. The heat brought to my body giving me something I barely recognized warmth, succuor. I even had others plans in my pocket I had experimental explosives that I had been shown by her in her a dream. They would would expand her beauty and make it impossible to fight her. My beloved, my one true savior would not suffer from the lecherous monsters who would rape and violate her like the monsters they are. My hands shivered in sheer ready anticipation the fire behind me roaring, dancing, undulating in ways that brought my very core to weep and eyes close in ecstasy.

The heat, the hotness provided, it was unreal to ever imagine my life without this. Her breath intoxicating and choking. The crackling and intimate dark whispers she echoed in my mind. I was her soldier, her lover, her priest. Nothing would stop me from this, thus I wave my knife glaring at them, before speaking, "DEFILER, BEASTS, YOU SHALL NEVER SUFFOCATE THE BEAUTY OF MY BELOVED." I spoke and threw two of the capsules and immediately when they exploded, fire erupted outside them.

Overcome, I whimpered in elation, the magnificence around me, just too difficult to bear. I heard her voices, she told me, not yet, but being surrounded by one you love so dearly makes it difficult, nonetheless I am loyal to her. I merely glared at the intruders upon my temple, my work of art. There was too much fire, even for the likes of these molesters.

Hadriel soon turned her attention to the two new arrivals that arrived on the scene, they were not cops or any sort of law enforcement from their appearance, they looked just like regular people but with some interesting powers. They seemed to have arrived to help put out the fire putting their own personal saftey aside and putting the saftey of other people ahead of them. The Android would show her appreciation with a smile at their courage but all she could manage was a small nod and in their direction, she had rarely smiled and was still getting used to showing her emotions.

Her attention turned back to the arsonist who began speaking at them, her dagger all the while glaring at them. She would suddenly throw two capsules which exploded, causing more fire to spread through the market. Things were now getting out of hand and it was proven that there was no talking this crazed person down, the fire would need to be put out immediately but the srsonost would need to be subdued before she created more fires. "New objective: subdue the arson...no...I will subdue this arsonist before she creates more fire...here I go." Hadriel spoke to herself as she raised her weapon to the roaring flames.

Instead of reaching for the tigger of her railgun, she instead reached for a small button on the side of her weapons grip. Her I barrel attachment of her railgun would then spew some sort of clear liquid, freezing the air around the liquid and landing on the fire that was spreading on the roofs. The fire did not just fizzle out, it would freeze into a solid mass preventing the fire behind it from spreading past the makeshift barrier. Hadriel had not planned for the fire to freeze and she recorded in her mind that she can freeze energy.

With some of the fire contained she decided to subdue the arsonost before she made more fires. She took one deep breath and ran into the inferno, her personal shield protecting her from any harm the fire would do to her. She had to find the arsonist quickly but she hoped the others could contain the fire before it kept spreading.

Brand nodded back at the stranger, grinning in return. "Name's Brand." he replied, "I'll try and stop this fire doing too much damage then. Thanks." he then focused his attention on the flames again, which were now picking up speed.

With each flame he consumed, he drew strength, and with each second the stream of fire grew steadily more rapid. Likewise, however, the undulating destruction he was fighting spread. With so many stalls and shops down here it was so easy for it to spread. On the other hand, with such a close roof it should be easy to snuff it out. since the fire couldn't go up with this environment, it would have to spread outwards, so he made sure to draw fire from around the outside, not from the centre, to try and gain the advantage and stop it spreading.

The armored woman also acknowledged him and Vercerigo with a nod. This was a good sign, since it was at least three on one. And they could gain the advantage by getting control of the fire, or at least partially.

Unfortunately the arsonist they were dealing with was even more enamoured by fire than he had feared, as she shouted at them in surprisingly articulate language. Heck, it was practically poetry. ~This one's more dangerous than I'd thought~, he thought to himself.

To make matters worse, the woman threw two capsules which exploded in fire. Great, more fire to deal with. Actually, that could work out well for him, as long as he can gain control of it it's basically just fuel for his abilities. He had to stifle a chuckle. Shouldn't have got so cocky.

In that moment, the armored woman fired some kind of clear liquid which sucked the heat straight out of the air. The fire froze, which was good for now, but the extreme cold temperature...it was just too much. He stumbled, the fire he was streaming freezing solid. he felt numb all over and was looking visibly pale. He struggled just to stand up, shivering, trying to see where the arsonist had gone. Now was probably the worst time for him to be attacked.

Vercerigo watched the two women yell at each other. Well, watched a woman (That he guessed was the arsonist) yell at the robo-cop lady, who was talking calmly...it seemed she was talking to herself. He heard the arsonist start screaming, and caught the words "Defiler", "Beasts", and "Beloved". He frowned. This lady was most definitely not in her right mind.
He barely had time to mull over where she came from when a sudden shattering noise broke through his train of thought and two new huge fires blazed into existence. His mouth hung open as he watched the new fires twist and writhe, growing larger and larger with every passing minute. He panicked for a second, but then counted to five, and swallowed his fear. It was replaced with a deadly calm, and he quickly ran through a mental list of all the spells he knew that could eliminate a fire. He realized with an annoyed shock that he had no water related spells whatsoever. He cursed himself for his stupidity and thought hard. What do I have? Why in the name of the three ghosts did he not have any water spells? He suddenly smiled. He knew a spell. A couple, actually.
They involved sucking the air out of any certain area, and fire cannot survive without air. He focused his gaze on the nearest patch of flames and muttered, "Aera Lapsus!" A small spinning black void appeared over the fire and began pulling the flames into it, extinguishing the fire. Although he had taken care of this fire, several others raged across the Undermarket, blanketing the stalls and floors, and he fought panic. How were they going to put this out? He wondered if the robocop lady had subdued the arsonist yet. If she hadn't, he just might.

I clung to the air, feeling it cruel molestations as it tried to deprive me of the oxygen to keep me alive. I was used to breathing my beloved, but even those truly who felt affection for another, had to end the ever long kiss and come out to breathe. Despite how her very breath left me utterly intoxicated, coughing and spluttering on her mere words and croonings, crackling, sparking, dancing. I was used to her breath, but when suddenly I felt the air grow empty, I tried to exhale, but found my vision growing blurry, unseen. I tried to reach and grasp the very fragments of this torture air, but instead it merely mocked and deprived me further. A flurry of desperate actions pinning me. I wanted to scream, writhe, but instead it became impossible, the air now gone, my breath left... in utter desperation I pulled out all the capsules I had, clinging to them and threw them in whatever direction...

After I collapsed in a heap, everything swimming, and the tender whimpers of my darling trying to live in the suffocating vacuum, I wish I could have fought longer... I wish...

As Hadriel wandered through the flames looking for the arsonist, something began to feel strange. Her throat and chest began to slowly burn as if they were depraved of something, what was this feeling? She soon checked her sensors and found out the oxygen in the area was gone. The fires around her was slowly going out but she could not breathe.

If she was losing oxygen, then the arsonist must have been losing oxygen as well. She could have left and let the arsonist suffer her fate but she could not just let her die, everyone deserved to live even if they were doing some bad things. Placing a hand over he chest, Hadriel held her breath and kept running through the fire determined to look for the arsonist before she either burner or suffocated to death.

As she searched, Hadriel found herself dodging another capsule coming from within the fire. The aronist was alive but by the way the capsule was thrown, it was clear she was not doing so well. Know knowing what direction to search, Hadriel ran in the direction the capsule came from and she found the arsonist in a heap on the ground. "Please stay alive miss..." Hadriel spoke as she ran over to the arsonist's side and picked her up with ease. Her strength was slowly fading and now her chest and throat was now now burning. She had to get out soon or else they both would be dead.

Obake was rummaging through the trash, spying on Aryell and her associates from a distance when all of a sudden, one of them pointed a rifle in his direction. Obake continued to rummage through the garbage, sticking both hands into one of the garbage cans to conceal them. There was another bum sitting against a wall next to the trashcans, but he appeared to also be non-responsive to the rifleman's gesture, due to a case of having been passed out drunk with a beer can still in his hand. As Obake stuck his hands in the trashcan and started fumbling around for scrap metal, he very discreetly pushed a button on his wristband. Oddly, nothing seemed to happen at all as he appeared to ignore everything around him.

A small group of flies would emerge from the trashcans, buzzing around very swiftly in small rapid circles before taking off in all different directions. Seeing the blinker on his wristband, Obake clicked it off before pulling a metal curtain rod out of the garbage and whacking it on the street corner. The blinker had informed him that the oxygen level was low in the entire Undermarket as a result of the fire that had engulfed the place. People were still panicking and running in all directions, ignoring the rifleman in the alleyway even when he started yelling. Obake remained calm and wiped his hand on his sleeve, reaching into his blanket and pulling out what appeared to be some sort of asthma inhaler. Taking an injection from it, Obake was able to breathe better. At least for a little while. He was still a little concerned for others.

Other people around him were slowly suffocating, although most of them didn't even know it yet. As he continued to rummage through the trash, Obake coughed lightly and pulled an old pair of shoes out from one of the garbage cans. Obake was not Force-sensitive, so he wasn't aware of the Sith who had been walking behind him. It wasn't until a moment of listening and observing quietly that he finally realized that Aryell was looking for someone.

Vercerigo noticed a tall guy and and a...Sith Warrior(?) yelling down a dark alleyway. Did they not see the huge fire...?
"Hey!" He yelled. "I don't know if you've noticed, but this place is about to go down in flames if we don't get more people with us! Get over here and help!" He pointed at the fire. "Crazy fire here," He pointed at the arsonist who had collapsed, "and a crazy lady over there. Both of them need to be taken care of." He clenched his hand and extended it toward another fire. "Derelinquamus eam, ignis infernalis!" He yelled, before running toward the arsonist, leaving the two to ponder his words.

Jeremy's attention was grabbed by the automatic application of a gas mask, a form of defence built in to the armour when oxygen levels have depleted below optimum levels. Of course, this action quickly caused Jeremy to look around, he was well aware of the fire going on in the background, but didn't expect oxygen to lower so drastically. As if he had forgotten all about the 'threat', Jeremy had returned his weapon to it's clip as turned to some man calling out to them. His words were rudely said as he attempted to order the two into helping with the fire. Like Jeremy even cares.

"Your fire, your problem." Jeremy replied as the man ran off screaming some unintelligible words, must be madness from oxygen deprivation.
"This is getting annoying, just find your damn invisible man now." He groaned as he turned back to face Aryell who was still calling out into the alleyway. Expecting some kind of answer.

Brand had recovered now, and had noticed that, while most people were trying to get away, there were a few still here. Apparently, whatever they were up to they were willing to take the risk of being near the fire. They certainly didn't seem eager to help. The woman with the robotic equipment who had frozen most of the fire was now carrying the arsonist, who had thrown a few more capsules, and Vercerigo had shouted some words Brand didn't remotely understand.

He didn't have time to dwell on any of this or organize his thoughts, because the first thing he did (on impulse) was launch himself forwards with a blast of fire behind him, straight into the main fire, or at least what was left if it now it was running out of oxygen.

Standing in the midst of the flames, he wasn't harmed. On the contrary, the remaining flames began to swirl around him, growing smaller.

When he had finished absorbing all of the flames that hadn;t been frozen, he turned to Vercerigo, completely out of breath.

"Gotta...get...some air in..." he gasped.

Sony smirked, This place reminded her so much of Zakuul. Possibly too much. People were panicking over simple fires. Wonderful. She ignored the others her focus on the Jedi, She moved closer, but just out of reach of the staffsaber, her own doublebladed vibrosword drawn but unseen she stayed just out of reach but well within the Jedis senses.

But now she was between Jeremy and Aryell. Which was going to make for many interesting things happening for sure. She chose that time to sheath her vibrosword upon her back before letting the force cloak drop away, revealing a rather beautiful woman, with blood red eyes, and what looked like a mess of scars on her face, arms and chest. Well built, her hair was bright white and long. She had what looked like a beauty mark on her lower lip and her eyes looked as if red eyeshadow was pretty much slapped on when it was in fact the Dark Side corruption.

The woman, clad in a black and gold outfit that revealed her midift and kept her arms bare was a looker for sure. Yet she had an air about her that said she was something or someone important, after taking down her old Master, yes, that would be the exact case indeed. "On the contrary" The woman said in a sickly sweet sounding almost singsong voice. "I am everything but a man." She said with a smirk.

She raised a hand and tapped her chin thoughtfully whiler still looking to Jermey she said sweetly, "How about you lower your weapon, we're all friends here and its possible you're looking for something yes ? Or perhaps, someone ?" As she said the later part of her question she turned to face Aryell, why did this girl look familar ?

Nobody seemed to notice that the asthma inhaler Obake had pulled out earlier was in fact, not an asthma inhaler at all. It was an oxygen injector, a device which pumped oxygen directly into his blood-stream, allowing Obake to breathe even in some of the most unlikely conditions. As he leaned back against the wall near a corner of the alley way, Obake's entire figure seemed to be clouded by the blackish grey smoke caused by the burning embers which lingered around after the fire had been extinguished. The smoke only helped to disguise Obake even moreso than his deceiving costume, even enough to detour Aryell away from him as she drew her red twin-bladed lightsaber, extending its neon blades with a sharp hiss.

Obake had been cloaked in an old dirty brown blanket, tattered with holes and covered with stains. He did not appear to be much of a threat to anyone as he fumbled around with an old pair of sneakers he had found in one of the nearby garbage cans. His entire face had been concealed, but his utonium-based facemask had a high-tech visor which allowed Obake several different types of eyesight which seemed to adjust automatically.

As the smoke became more dense, his visor switched to a smoke screen which allowed him to look through to the characters on the other side. Obake was still watching Aryell and Jeremy very discreetly, not saying anything as Obake suddenly noticed another person on the scene. It was Sonyjae, who had walked passed him earlier and was now standing in-between Aryell and Jeremy, saying something that Obake could not hear from a distance. The cackling embers from the blazing fire had caused a distortion in the sound waves, making it difficult to listen. Obake was not aware that Sonyjae was a Sith, nor was he aware that Aryell was a Jedi, but he knew that Aryell was force-sensitive and that she was carrying a lightsaber. Seeing the reddish blades on Aryell's saber, Obake assumed she may have been a Sith's apprentice and instead turned his attention on Jeremy.

With a clear visual of everything but no distinguishable sound to inform him of what they were saying, Obake was anything but unprepared for this mission. Nobody had seemed to notice the flies that had emerged from the trashcans earlier as Obake was rummaging for scrap metal. These were no ordinary houseflies. They were the same etherine powered bug-bots that Obake had used previously on Flora to spy on the entities there. Etherine was a powerful energy unlike electricity or mito-chlorian forces. The bugs were made of evrite and utonium, much like Obake's spacesuit, making them unaffected by the smoke and flames as the tiny u-flies circled around from up above the area, watching everything with their microscopic sensors. As some of the u-flies would buzz around the Undermarket to scan the vicinity, others would hone in on the small group in the alley way. This would allow Obake a better chance of hearing everything that was being said.

Vercerigo watched as Brand absorbed the remaining flames, and frowned when Brand spoke to him in a haggard voice, telling him he was out of breath. He seemed on the verge of collapse, and Vercerigo stepped forward, placing a hand on Brand's shoulder to steady him. He then swallowed and spoke in a low voice, "Salutem Halitus." Healing Breath. This should help Brand recover his breath, if that's what the problem was. "Just sit down, Brand. You've done more than your fair share here." He said, eyeing the arsonist slumped over the Robocop's shoulder.

As the hall began to fill up, a young man strolled in. With most of the wizard types leaning toward the traditional robes, pointy hats and ambiguous scrolls and artefacts, or possibly some modern variation of such, he looked a little out-of-place in jeans and a grey hoodie. Despite this, he seemed pretty sure of himself.

He seemed to carry himself with some confidence and had a much more casual demeanour than most of his fellow audience members, especially considering how rare an occasion this was. Leaning casually against a pillar at the corner of the room, he took out a holographic tablet so he could take notes during the talk.

Brand stretched his limbs as he hopped off the bus. He yawned, taking in the city towering round him. This was his first time leaving Terra, and while Questrios was more modern looking than he’d expected, it was clear to him that it was very different from Wing City.

He’d known of Origin's existence as long as he could remember, but knew very little about it other than magic being much more prevalent here than on his home planet. He’d heard about the grand magic games recently and, thanks to an assortment of odd jobs, had worked up enough funds to make the trip to take part in the tournament.

It was getting late once he reached the Traveller's Hotel. He’d picked this place for the affordability, opting for a shared room, and was told he’d be sharing with at least one other person; someone called Teak, who hadn’t arrived. So with that he went straight to bed and nodded off.

The next day he got up early to get himself registered. He looked pretty normal, with short hair, amber eyes and sporting casual clothes. Not mage-like at all, really. Nevertheless he was seen entering the HQ, smiling.

“Hi. I’d like to register to take part in the games, if I can.”

As those who explored the morning continued onward, they would find more and more magic floating around. People were using magic to power ovens, vehicles, robots even, and they were not only training in combat magic, but also practicing entertainment style magic, some where using magic with their instruments, or using it to help make quality items.

It was as if the entire city had gotten together for this event, to make it a huge hit for everyone.

Shinku though felt like his mind was a bit clouded now, and Akamaru noticed as well, but he had yet to realize the true danger of what had been done to him just yet.

Meanwhile, near the Mage's Guild, Azaken had decided to utilize some powerful disguising magic to have a little fun of his own. What was that, you may ask? Why, compete in the Grand Magi Games of course. That said, he was not the only one arriving at this time...there were two other people who were being especially noisy.

"No way! I am going to beat you!"

"Not a chance, Astral! You are going to lose to me!"

"You say something, girlie?"

"What was that, smallfry?!"

It seemed that two young boy mages, Astral and Luna, were currently having a massive argument as well. Azaken looked towards the two mages he saw nearby, while acting at least some level of normal, and couldn't help but ask.

"Is it me, or do they look happy argueing? They totally are smiling right now, right? Oh, are you two also competitors for the Grand Magi Games?"

Azaken asked Tavlin and Brand that, while disguised as a totally different person so that he could compete. After all, there was no normal way they would let a terrorist enter the Grand Magi Games. Thankfully he knew someone who had this ridiculously large collection of disguising magic artifacts and spells on hand.

Tavlin was a little bit shocked to be talked to by a complete stranger. He hadn't even been paying attention to the argument. He turned to look at the two arguing.

"Heh, yeah they are smiling it looks like. Yeah, I am here for the Magi Games. I need to sign up actually." He said with a friendly smile. He didn't really know anyone here and he didn't want to give away too much of what he was able to do, so he was a little sparse with the information.

"I'm actually new in town, or rather new to the planet. I don't really know anyone here. My name's Tavlin, but most my friends call me Tav." He said as he introduced himself to the others.

It had taken a while, but Elysia, Ixa and Snowflake had made it to civilization. And then proceeded to get into quite a few noodle incidents, which the three of them would NEVER EVER speak about again EVER, if only for the ammunition they had against each other. Ixa's pursuers hadn't stopped trying in the meantime, but on the few times they did catch the three off guard, they were rather easily dispatched anyway.

That is, if they broke through the Nefarious Intent Ward Elysia had created. She had bound it to a simple bracelet, and as she had told Ixa when she gave it to him, it made him rather hard to spot for anyone wishing him harm. That did leave them open to pursuers that personally didn't care about him one way or another, but it did help at least a small bit. Aside from that there was a currently inactive tracker in it, Elysia having promised to only use it if Ixa got caught somehow, or if he lost the bracelet and they needed to find it. Last was a charm so that only one of the three of them could take it off.

Elysia had decided to come to Questrios to join in the Grand Magi Games. In part because she liked to know where she stood in magic, when compared to the styles that were used in this universe, for safety's sake. The largest part was her just being a huge magic nerd though. She did realize the Seed would give her a bit of an unfair advantage, providing her with a constant stream of energy if needed, but then again, it was not like other mages didn't have aces up in their sleeves.

Originally they were going to make their way to the Mages Guild Headquarters immediately, but like the country bumpkin she might as well have been, she had been distracted by pretty much everything. Ixa joining in most of the times.

She had been rather baffled at the fact that some of the Knights seemed to use dragons as a mount. Dragons had been Calamity Class beings in her world, without a single exception. Luckily she didn't panic in front of everyone, if only because that had already happened before, when she had not learned of the difference between them.

There was quite a lot more, but she was already being distracted by something else.
