Cai Lament is a member of the organization known as the A.E.S.I.R., a rather obscure bio-mechanical engineering firm that specializes in the production of incredibly enhanced super soldiers. Cai, codenamed the Stygian Furor, is one such soldier. Physically, he was engineered to never age past his prime, to be far stronger, faster, more enduring, and more durable than any human alive. And that was before the addition of the cybernetics suites that made him into what he is now, a literal one man army. Without the assistance of any armor, he is virtually bulletproof to any standard firearm in production, capable of lifting in excess of ten times his own weight, running at a sustained speed of nearly 60mph or sprinting at speeds exceeding 100mph. Stress tests demonstrated aptly that he can sustain himself for slightly longer than a week without rest.
However, his motivations for staying with the organization are purely for resources, namely of the financial variety. He is, as an operative, ruthlessly efficient, ignoring the thought of collateral damage for the sake of achieving his objectives. Brutal, arrogant, and with the temperament of an irate serpent, he is most assuredly not a people person. He is, however, a very, very capable soldier.
Equipping such a weapon, however, was more of a challenge. However, A.E.S.I.R. developed a solution. Reverse engineering and then improving off one of its numerous assets of alien technology, they developed his current armor and armaments, tailoring them to his tastes in their usual fashion of their Champion series soldiers.
The Anubis
Cai's primary sword, it is styled after an overlong tachi, with a blade of blackened metal known as infernium. Overall harder than adamantium, infernium is a sort of radioactive metal element distantly related to its more traditional cousin. When energized by a compact fusion cell in the base of the hilt, it emits a shimmering crimson radiance that seems to wisp away like smoke, forming a barrier over the length of the blade. However, despite its albeit intimidating appearance, this energy is far, far more dangerous than it appears. Incredibly disruptive, it destroys the cohesion of shaped plasma and particles in its path, as well as within its own confines reaching temperatures that exceeds that of your average star. Almost as a side thought, it was hardened into a monomolecular edge.
The Basilisk
A reserve blade is not all that this wakizashi is. Also crafted of infernium, it is, instead, powered by a very, very high output electrical generator. This alters the properties of the metal's emitted energies, causing an extremely high output of gamma particles within the wreathing energy. As such, it typically is reserved for use as a finisher. The nodes on his upper torso serve the function of an auto-reactive shielding system, as well as a rapid short range telelocation device. While the latter is purely automatic, though can be shut down willingly, the secondary is connected the Cai's own nervous system, allowing the cybernetic suites within to synchronize his thoughts into pinpoint accurate trans-location teleports. Finally, despite some ridicule to the contrary, the "horns" of the suit actually do serve a purpose. Arc generators coated with a thin layer of infernium, they can project high amperage bolts of electricity to targets as quickly as a true lightning bolt, with much, much more devastating effect.
The Inferno Oni
Dubbed as such by Cai, the armor crafted for him is no less superb than his own weapons. While simply to behold, it is in fact a powered armor. Plates of admantium and a scale coated liner of the same metal form its bulk, with selected nodes containing infernium as a power magnifier integrated seamlessly.
