Chiprez'Zahadyn

"I make things...just like everyone else..."

0 · 102 views · located in The Dwarven Stout

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Shpleem

Description

Race: Gaian Artificer
Social Status: Apprentice Forger
Occupation: Apprentice Forger
Age: 112
Height: 7'9"
Build: Lean, moderately toned
Hair: None
Eyes: Large and entirely a deep syrup brown
Distinguishing Marks: None as of yet
General Information:Chip is an Artificer, a rather reclusive race of tall humanoids, averaging between seven and a half to nine feet in height. Chip falls in at an unassuming Seven foot nine. Like most members of his race he is lean and decently toned. His clothing generally composes of common wear from his people, a short shirt with no sleeves that exposes his stomach but covers his back and parts of his sides, baggy pants with a wide cloth 'skirt' coming off from his belt. Large eyes and long fingers are hallmarks of his race and his golden-bronze skin has a semi metallic shine to it.
Unique Talents, Abilities and Personal Equipment: When required to defend himself he has surprising strength for his lean build but fares better with his scepter, able to fire short bursts of energy and focus more powerful blasts by using Aiden's energy projecting weapon.
As an Artificer he is capable of using their unique forges and creating items from even abstract materials such as darkness or light.
Chip has a small mechanical hawk made of bronze with silver wing feathers named Aiden.
Family: Chip does not talk about his family much, perhaps because they do not like his desires to explore beyond their realm.
Personality:A bit of a cultural outsider Chip likes to explore and has actually left the confines of his people's land to see what exists beyond their borders. He is curious and hard to anger though he at times has little knowledge of where personal boundaries tend to be drawn.

The Artificer's second eyelids closed on his eyes, shielding the boy from the burst of light even though he was still far from the others. He had been following Aiden who had appeared to have found something but now he was a little more cautious and called his bird back to him.

with a few clinks of metal the hawk landed on his shoulder and settled, 'staring' ahead of him towards where the light had come from. The construct had no eyes, none of them ever did, to give eyes was to admit the machine had a soul, such a thing would not go over well with the rest of his people, or even him for that matter.

Slowly he picked his way forward, distracted by all the sights of the forest.

It was shortly after that moment that the young Artificer broke through the brush and stumbled into the clearing. His large, dark eyes looked around him and at the various being assembled. Outsiders were rare in his lands since few dared brave the Storm Fields but here, four beings he knew nothing about, all gathered there. He was nearest to Cespar and was intrigued by the centaur's form, as well as Saranna's many arms, so much inspiration! Then there was the human woman, and the one the others were all looking at, who was she?

The boy was as clueless as any of them, perhaps even more so, he knew Eras was dead, but stars did not come down and talk, that made no sense. Still, his presence seemed to have gone unnoticed even as he stood there, staring with the wonder of a child. He was young and he looked it, he was somewhat like a human but with a flatter face lacking a prominent nose. His eyes were a little large and oval shaped, his body lean and toned as evidenced by his bare arms and stomach. His bronze skin almost glinted in the light filtering through the branches of the trees.

As birds circled in the sky a gold like glint might catch the eyes of those below as Aiden circled lazily in the air. Chiprez was a rare sight away from his homeland, a member of the reclusive Artificer race. His bronze, almost metallic skin glinted a little in the light through the trees as his made his way toward where Aiden was circling.

The young Apprentice Forger stopped short at the edge of the sand, startled by the water just as the elf was further down the shore, he had never seen so much, and like a vast majority of his kin he could not swim, and had a great fear of tunnel floods.

Chiprez hesitantly moved out onto the sand as if the water would leap up over the shore and devour him with the next wave before he glanced up at Aiden who was still circling above it all. Putting two long fingers in his mouth the forger let out a shrill whistle, calling the construct back down to him as he held out his arm and it took its place on a specially built bracer, folding up and looking merely like a large decoration.

His maple syrup colored eyes glanced about the shore, spotting figures in the distance, certainly ones that were not like him and as it almost always did, curiosity outweighed fear or caution and he proceeded towards Emys'i who happened to be nearest.

Chiprez was quick to back down at open hostility, pulling out his scepter as Aiden clicked and whirred on his bracer. "What is wrong?" he asked, his Common was accented and very proper as he was taught, and he did not see a reason for any sort of hostility from this being. He was fascinated by his wings and wanted to get closer but despite his skin's metallic appearance it was just that, skin.

He held his scepter up in front of himself, clearly in a defensive stance though the tip was glowing a faint blue.

"I-..." The young Forger began before falling silent as he slipped his scepter back into the holder on the back of his belt and looked around again. He sighed softly and glanced at the menacing water once again before continuing along the shore towards where he saw two small figures near some object half in the water.

Chiprez was walking at a fairly brisk pace, moving further inward on the beach whenever a wave came to close, showing an ingrained fear of large bodies of water, especially of waves. It didn't take long for the tall male's long strides to reach them and he bowed respectfully, having learned that most cultures would accept that as a greeting. "Salutations." he said in his accented common as he stood up straight again.

"They call us Artificers, those is Skyfall say it is easier to pronounce than our native name." he said, looking at the two with intense curiosity. "What is rum?" he asked suddenly, leaning in close to the bottle as his nostrils flared and he backed off a little at the scent. A most curious individual in more ways than one, he was strange for a strange race and little got in the way of his curiosity. "And what are you?" he asked then, looking at both of them, "And what is that?" he pointed at the boat they had come to shore with. Where he came from there were no boats.

"There is no rum where I come from." he said, backing up a little as if he said something wrong. "I am named Chiprez'Zahadyn" he said in response to Axinn. The first part was actually his name while the rest was his clan name. Before the Artificers had come together they lived in villages controlled by various clans and even now they still identified themselves by those old clans.

He tilted his head a little questioningly, having a hard time understanding Jess's speaking, it being so different from the common he had learned, making it difficult for him to follow her ramblings about rum or his questionable sanity very well.

Chiprez watched what was going on with intense interest while attempting to make his answer known to Axinn. "We have some wines and ales...most surface dwellers do not enjoy them, say they lack flavor." he said, blinking his large eyes as he watched Jess attempting to regain her bottle. This sort of thing was something he was only used to seeing between animals, not people, it was not what Artificers did.

"I do not drink often, only during feasting times." he said, tilting his head again as he saw Jess behind Axinn, his almost reflective eyes catching the light a little as he glanced at her. So curious, and those in Skyfall had called him strange. He took a moment out of the conversation then to release his metal hawk from his bracer and it took off, flying as easily as the real thing, only the fact that it was an obvious and eyeless machine keeping it from resembling such. To his culture to give something eyes was to admit it was capable of feeling to even the most basic degree and that was never to be done with constructs.

Chiprez was more than a little confused and his amateur construct had wondered off across the sky again back towards the trees. "I must be going, it was a pleasure Axinn of the Alneh." he said bowing again before turning and hurrying off after his glinting hawk, long strides carrying him quickly across the sand before he disappeared into the trees once more.

There was yet another new arrival, one that was sure to draw eyes with his height and his race in general. An Artificer, few had seen them, but yet here was one, standing there in the entry way of the tavern, looking around curiously with molasses colored eyes. On his arm a golden object stood out on his right bracer, seeming to have wings engraved on the sides of it, inlaid with silver. At his said hung a scepter, the most common weapon of his people, a small heavy rod that worked like a truncheon while also being capable of shooting blasts of magic energy.

Once inside he looked around at his surroundings, curious, moving slowly towards the counter.

The Artificer seemed most curious and at this moment was walking around, passing every table at least once to see what they were doing, to get a scent from their drinks as he passed, nostrils flaring on his noseless face. He soon found himself near the fireplace as well. His bracer reflecting the flames' flickering light, his skin seeming to do the same though lacking the same luster.

With no chair where he was Chiprez simply sat down on the floor, not seeming odd and he was tall enough that one wouldn't have to look down too far to see his face. Muttering something in another tongue the golden portion of his bracer clicked and sprang to life swooping up before landing before him. It appeared to be a falcon constructed entirely of golden metal, realistic in near every way except that it lacked eyes.

The bird turned towards her, when she reached toward, letting out a convincing screech though tinged with a metallic echo. "It is really a simple construct." he said, his common accented but understandable. "The last thing I made before I left." he added, turning his large eyes toward her as the falcon tilted it's eyeless head, seemingly able to see even with the lack of eyes.

"Mt. Xanaldra." he answered, which was known to be the largest volcano on the continent and to those who studied magic, a powerful locus of magical energy. He had lived beneath it and the plains surrounding it, the home of his people, one of the smallest kingdoms on Gaia. One with no allies and no enemies. No one wanted their land and they wanted no one else's. They lived beneath the ground around the lava veins and practiced their craft. Except for him, he had left. "I made Aiden before I left, he helps me find my way and protects me." he said.

"Yes, need magic, and heat, only Gaia's heart has the heat and few places have the magic needed." he said. He could use a regular forge and pound out a sword as good as any dwarven smith but to make things like his people did special needs needed to be met. Little did he know that beneath them at this very moment on of his own kind was hard at work preparing weapons.

"No, I would not, constructs are challenging work, Aiden is my most successful." he said, holding out his arm as the bird flew up and settled into the molded section of his bracer with a series of clicks. "You will want to visit Xanaldra if you wish to purchase a construct like this one." he said.
