Description

He used to be a Grand knight, the highest rank you could be in the King's law. He had a nickname 'the knight of death' he gained that title by wearing bones or bone designs on his clothes. But those days are over, his kingdom left him forever. He is now a man, a very tall/slim man in his mid 20's, but he has scars over his lip and left eye, rendering him blind in it. without his armor he stands 9 ft 11 inches tall. He is never rude, but then again he never talks anymore.

In his spartime he likes to build machines and craft simple things like wooden carvings and chairs for people. But one thing no one knows is that he is rebuilding a tripod, but not to hurt. He is making it to where it can be used to build large structers.

His looks as you know is that he has scars, he is 9ft 11inches tall, and he is slim. Now things you may not know. He has dirty-blonde hair that is cut short and has a hipster style haircut. He is 24. He has a soft-spot for children. And he mosly wears a T-shirt, black hoodie, saggy blue jeans, and black shoes.

So begins...

A large man walks in and looks around, then comes up to the desk "Do you have anything on tech engineering?" his voice Is deep and booms across the library. "uhhh... sorry" he wispers. "by the way I'm Vorkens Dormon. Pleasure to meet you."

Dennison felt a little dejected as the librarian hadn't seemed to recognise him as a regular here. I guess it has been a while, he thought.

Opening his mouth to finally introduce himself to her he said,
"Oh, uh, I'm- "
An oaf of a man loudly interrupted (probably presuming she was speaking to him) and took his place at the desk. The sound of his voice was almost more insulting than the words themselves. He apologised for the wrenching noise but hadn't seemed to take notice of himself or the hooded creature. Still, Dennison allowed himself to be put aside and figured it wasn't that important anyway. His focus was on Jinhai.

"So, about that Almanac, right? There any way you could help me out?" His eyes were determined, and hoping the thing would oblige.

Jinhai needed something more metaphysically responsive to inscribe a locus but the paper would do as structural material. The hooded creature looked down to Lolanthe then quietly took the pen and paper. Less so with his hands than with a crinkle sucking the paper and pen inside them. There the ink, plastic, and paper converted with a sputter of purple light into bonded psimass that they could materialize into structures of like materials. With the amount of destruction and injury going on each Jinhai had more than enough suitable materials on-hand for the remainder of a locus substrate. The material was suitable though Jinhai is otherwise unable to feel appreciative.

Jinhai's voice to Lolanthe was ever unperturbed if carrying the soft Brownian noise of dust therein, "That material is suitable for creating a temporary instance."

The fourth swirl eye returned and took up position in square formation as it looked to Dennison and the other humankind's question, "The Almanac contains several hundred tomes related to psychoacoustics. Most engineering is metadynamics in nature either arcane or channeled Aetherkind. A book on 'advanced sound engineering' exists that primarily deals in elemental transduction. Many are hazardous to humankind as they are arcane in nature. Humankind may choose for humankind. We are still learning about new technology of humankind. We cannot yet categorize it inside the Almanac. We must first create the loci."

Jinhai moved immediately into creating object the taskful creatures they were. Upon a open-faced palm an inky black cloud of fine silt motes emerges. Each creates a spark in that black nebula manifesting pieces of the bonded matter Jinhai consumed. At first little more than scraps of white as it created the backing wrinkled maroon veins spread across the growing page. Then tanned skin appears atop with flurries of red sparks as a sheet of cellulose backed human vellum is slowly constructed. A clear tattoo took shape in one corner as the vellum expanded proclaiming it Imperial Guard. As tides of construction manifested substrate atop the floating matte fog Jinhai began to write the loci from the inside out. The writing had some indefinable pattern at first but rapidly progressed as an iron weight on the tip of the tongue. The pattern itself calling out to another reality through any minds that might wrongly insist familiarity. The ink pulsed and writ inward a dense ink marking that grew in depth as edges of the vellum are reached.

It offered the patterned scroll to Lolanthe. The lines repeated in some dense pattern but the longer a mind stared at it the more likely it was to insist there was some reachable meaning there. As if staring at it tethered down the image of some distant locale if they just leaned over the cliff far enough. Though some minds might simply feel itching spiders behind one's eyeballs the psionic scrollwork that it was. Still, the creations of Jinhai were stable things nonetheless built for the minds of humankind.

"You must define the world to interface the Almanac so the Loci can connect you or seekers to Myrkul's Vein, Attestor Lolanthe, as you are inadequate to contain it entirely or touch its raw patterns. The answers the world is capable of expressing limit the answers and information the Almanac can provide to it.", the Jinhai advised without any stress in its dusty voice.

As this happened, the knights were being pushed by. Some looked to the gaurds with disgust, they were still angry with the out come of the battle. Though the grand knight, though unmasked and unarmored, still towered over everyone. He looks down at. Teddy as he passes to go to trial, "I'm sorry for what happened to the girl, damned wreckless tripods." If anything the blank stare as he said that enraged the gaurds.

Sorry? Causing massive property damage, endangering his friends and civilians, and all in an unprovoked attack, and all the giant had to say was, 'Sorry?'

The gesture made Teddy absolutely livid. He barred his teeth and furrowed his eyebrows as his face contorted to match him being overcome with rage. He took a deep breath and tried to soften his expression before Ebba. He softly began to nudge at her, "Ebba," Teddy gently called to her, continuing as he provoked her awake, "Ebba, wake up. I need you to be brave for me, something came up, and I feel to angry to keep going on. I need you to talk to the guard that is with me, he'll treat your wounds and take you somewhere quiet. I'll rejoin you once I have taken care of my business. Be brave, Ebba."

Ebba slowly woke up as Teddy nudged her awake. She was a bit more calm, but she was still a little scared. The Guardsman simply nodded. "Don't worry sir, you can count on the Imperial Guard to help her." The man spoke as Ebba reluctantly let go of Teddy and faced the soldier.

Trying to ease her fear the soldier got on his knees and offer his hand. "Don't worry miss...you can trust us in your care. We are your friends as well." The soldier smiled as Ebba not sure took his hand. "T-Teddy...please...come find me...I don't want to be alone for long..." She looked back at Teddy before looking at the soldier who gave her a firm nod. "This way Ma'm. Your friend is going to be safe. Lets take care of those injuries, those must hurt right?" The man asked as she softly nodded.

"Alright miss, come with me." The man led her forward as she quietly followed behind. For people with strange outfits, they seemed...nice...

Teddy turned to the Grand Knight, eyes leering and burning. Whether it was forced or not, he was still pretty ticked off with the guy. He turned, fists clenched, and marches to the Grand Knight, staring him down despite the immense size difference between the two. He then turned his head slightly, enough to gesture, but not take his eyes off the giant. "Whoever told your people about me lied," he begun, "I didn't kill an Imperial Space Marine, I killed a Chaos Space Marine."

He maintained a leer and shifted his weight a bit, "But whoever your father is," he continued, "He sounds like a lunatic. He endangered innocent lives and sent a whole ship on a suicide mission just to prove a point! There's just one thing I want: Do you have the coordinates and star chart of your father's territory?"

Star charts were basically the maps of intergalactic travel. There was no way Teddy could go off world at this point, but it would certainly help to have the information he needed once he was able to strike back against this new menace.

And I'm afraid that most are dead and the last of them retreated.... I'm sorry, if there is more you need to ask, go ahead. As for you, the King wanted us to bring you back to our planet... For reasons I do not know of unfortunately." Thde kjnight stands there and awaits more questioning.

Teddy was about to turn and leave, before he had remembered something else. He returned his glare to the colossus and continued, "How did you and your people hear about me in the first place?"

These invaders came from what was probably an uncharted region in the Multiverse. If that was the case, then there was no way they would have been able to know about him, unless someone told them. If that was the case, then it could all add up, someone told them about him and most likely advised he'd be drafted into their forces. However, if it wasn't, then Teddy may have to find out for himself how they even knew of his existence in the beginning.

With their invasion turning out to be just one big suicide mission, Teddy knew he may be stepping into the ring of another insane tyrant...

"The king just told us to metion you're name, and if possible. To recruit you." The grand knight stood there "He was talking alot to a very lunitic mage right before he told us we were attacking this place. It was actually siprising. Our king barely ever attacks, but never hugely populated worlds." Even the Grand Knight looked concerned. Out of nowhere the kights fall over passing out, the ones that didn't started to scream with fear and pain, showing signs of electronic waves surging them. The grand knight says somthing as he falls to his knee "The king...kill us..no evidence...machine on our necks..." Then the knight passes out.

Teddy recoiled in surprise at this, and his glare breaking. Was this some kind of kill switch? Teddy was shaken, but not stirred, there was nothing else he could do at this point. He reached into a pocket onto his armor and extracted a digital camera. After activating the device, he put it level with his eyes and snaps a photo of the Grand Knight, then walked to a passed out soldier and took a picture of him as well. These pictures will be useful when he would start asking about them as he put the camera back into its compartment after turning it off.

He turned and begun to leave, remembering the directions the guard had given to him, Teddy begun to make his way over to the hotel. As he walked, he had gone into thinking: This seemed to be a warrior culture, and with the way that giant described the king, it sounded like whoever this magician was had put a spell over the king of some sort. There were more and more developments appearing in this incident as it further unfolded. Maybe if he defeated the magician and freed that king from the mage's wicked spell, then maybe he'll be rewarded handsomely, enough to support himself and Ebba, and maybe, get a reputation boost to make his former home regret banishing him.

The Imperial Guardsman with Ebba crouch down in the lobby as he tended to her wounds. Each time he cleaned her wounds she yelped in pain. "Sorry miss, I know that stings a bit but you will feel much better when you don't get infected." The amount of debries cleared they were clearing without much trouble, showed, if commanded corectly, they would have put up a very hard fight. Even without power armor they could move more and carry more than normal people could. The grand knights being the bigest picked up a head off a tripod thats cannon was still emiting light, which made it look like it was turning on. As Smudgie walks his way over some of the holes in the rug close with a corduroy VOOP as its feet pass over them. He moves quickly and sharply bouncing his antennae sideways to and fro to look at Ebba. The false Matriarch seemed okay to smudgie. He absently stops to lick the dirty metal badge on his armored vest with a long pointed tongue then buffs the metal with a rag. It cycles to gold, brass, nickel, then back to brass again.

Smudgie made an effort to try and be quieter for the meek false Matriarch, "Smudgie can locate MEDICAL SUPport for you if you need it, false Matriarch! Gardeners pay honor TO ALL females."

Trying not to look him in the eyes, Dennison addressed Dormon quietly and quickly.

"Don't worry about it. I got things to do."

Listening to Jinhai, Dennison found himself lost in translation many times. He was sure the being was relatively new to Earth, or at least lacked the perspective of the average earth dweller. As it altered the scroll with the otherworldly inscription, Dennison felt as though he was wildly out of depth. But if he wanted to get where he wanted to be, he would have to try everything. Dennison spoke thus.

"Lucky for you I'm not concerned with the technology of humankind. The name's Dennison Marker. Put that in your Almanac." Upon saying it, he realised that the creature was probably going to do so anyway. "Uhm... I would like to learn from your Almanac. I would be happy to pay for any information. If that would be possible, I would like to know what it would take and how."

He stood firmly a metres distance from Jinhai, doing his best to maintain a powerful poise. This was something Vox was far greater at.

Teddy had walked off, leaving Ebba and Smudgie to each other. He climbed the stairs to the floor indicated on the key card. After a swipe on the device adjacent to his door, the door unlocked for Teddy to enter through. He was glad the door locked up when it was returned to its normally shut position. If anyone saw him at this point, they would be in for a shock.

He unbuckles his armor and begins to slide the suit off piece by piece. When he removed the vest and placed it aside, as he continued, he looked upon his arms and torso. They were still there, scars, burn marks, the feminine symbol fire branded onto his stomach. His body was a mess, while his face wasn't touched... The person who did this to him wanted to preserve his visage's beauty. He wanted no one else to see these markings on his body, so he covered them. He was just as physically closed off as he was emotionally. He continued to look, this is who he was now, and he still had a hard time accepting it, so he hid it.

He slid onto his bed, laying upon his back and reflecting the events of the past few days. It was certainly eventful, yes, but he also knew, just like most of Wing City, that he had been dragged into some sort of conspiracy, one that had these invading forces sent on a death mission. He felt he had to do something, he couldn't just sit around and twiddle his fingers and wait for another attack. He relaxed his head. He had no spacecraft to call his own, barely enough money to get him and Ebba food and water and a place to rest for the week, and could not afford to go off world to confront this problem.

Then it hit him.

He sprang onto his rear in a sitting position. Bounty hunting and mercenary work, no, but maybe he can seek an audience with the Emperor! It was definitely a long shot, but if he succeeded and found this mage in these warrior's empire, then maybe he'll be rewarded handsomely by both the Emperor and the warrior king! This set on his mind for a while, he had a plan now, and for the first time in a long time, a villain to bring about the downfall of.

He stood up as he jumped off the bed and looked down at the streets, those warriors were being put to work, and could see the giant in the distance. If he did indeed fulfill the demands the Multiverse had brought upon him, then maybe he'll gain a friend too, and a very powerful ally.

He returned to the bed, letting his thoughts turn into dreams.

Ebba slowly walked away from the strange bug and upstairs to the room that her keycard was made out to. Of course once in front of her room...she had no clue how to open it. She never used keycards before...Even the other personalities in her head never saw that before. Teddy had gone into a deep sleep, unaware of Ebba's current predicament. He just laid there, snoozing.

Meanwhile, a woman clad in white armor had neared the hotel that Teddy and Ebba were staying in. She had stopped a few yards from the entrance, looking up at the complex, as she was amazed that the building had somewhat survived the attack. She had entered the building and looked upon the crying manager. There was nothing she could really do for him, but she there was one thing she wanted to know.

She had walked to the manager, "Excuse me, sir," She begun, "But have you seen a young man with pale blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing black armor, speaks with a Kalosian accent?"

"Is that the accent that he spoke in?" The manager replied, "Yes, he was with a girl, I gave them key cards for their room, but I'm certain they are asleep right now. Do you know him?"

"I'm a friend of his," the woman replies as she turned, taking a moment to listen to the room numbers Teddy and Ebba were staying in. She had ascended the stairs with a definite sound in her steps. She had come to the hall and saw the girl sleeping on the floor in front of the door. Judging by her outlandish garb, the woman concluded she must not be too familiar with technology. She then stepped to Ebba and squats down. She set a hand onto Ebba's shoulder and began to gently nudge it. "Hello, madam," She had begun, "Do you need help getting into your room?"
