a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Coloratura

Description

Image

Elise is seventeen years old and human,
Pretty pale skin with somewhat rosy cheeks,
slight dark circles under her dark eyes caused by exhaustion.
Elise has full lips of a pinkish color.
Her eyes are an odd sort, mossy green,
but her left eye is permanently dilated
from an injury, leading to one eye that is a normal green color
and the other looking black and simply having a green ring around it.
Often wearing closely fitting straight legged black denim jeans and
New Wave, Punk rock, or Glam rock band T shirt.
She wears her black hair in a quiff style
(the only difference from the photo is that she has no red stripe in her hair)

Personality

Headphones rarely leave their place on her neck, she's constantly listening to music,
like any teenager would be, though she absolutely detests modern pop,
much preferring older rock.
Elise has a history of mental illness and has been commited many times
leading to her running away from home, She is a paranoid Schizophrenic,
who has often occuring hallucinations and hears voices in her mind,
but has not broken the law or hurt anyone as a result of her disease
and tends to but rather docile and seem eccentric at first glance
one would have to converse with her for a time before they noticed
something truly wrong. Her Schitzophrenia seems to have been caused by a hereditary gene for the mental affliction,
which was only activated upon her taking an extreme dose of LSD.

Equipment

Nothing much, just an mp3 player and wallet.

History

Elise is a teenage runaway, possibly from Liverpool, UK.
(Much more will be added soon)

Elise Linnet clunked down the stairs from the cheapest room in Gambit’s hotel, hoping she could find something to eat or drink at the bar. Around her neck were shiny plastic headphones leading to an old mp3 player in the girl’s pocket, that blared the song Fascination Street, By The Cure. Her short black hair was styled in a messy quiff and she smelled of violet perfume with an undertone of cigarette smoke, but this was from the room she was staying in as Elise did not smoke. The odd looking girl wore a retro style black leather jacket with a Ramones t-shirt underneath and straight legged jeans that suited her spindly legs quite nicely, at the bottom her bright red Converse sneakers stood out in stark contrast to the black background of her pants.
She hopped upon a barstool and ordered a glass of Mint colored Absinthe from one of the touchscreen menus, she was only 17 and not old enough to drink but she had her fake I.D on her. She glanced about at the bars patrons on occasion but for the most part the girl simply stared into space as she waited for her order to arrive.

Elise Linnet slipped a white and blue capsule from her pocket, about the size of a blueberry, it must have been a pill as she dropped It in her mouth and knocked it back with a glass of water that she had ordered from the bar along with her suspicious pale green liquid. She shook her head after doing so, as if it tasted bad or hurt going down her throat. She took out her wallet and reluctantly paid for her drink, deciding she’d rather be drunk than eat that night, it was a bit of a pitiful sight for one who was barely seventeen.
Despite the glower she wore her fresh face of youth had not been spoiled, so it would have been almost uncanny to see her looking strung out at the bar as she seemed to stare vacantly off into space. Elise Vaguely noticed some commotion involving a cat and some rather loud speaking men, she watched with mild disinterest.

Elise Linnet ‘s mp3 player was now playing “I wanna be sedated.” By The Ramones, this might have been rather fitting for her at the moment. She fingered the lining of her black leather jacket as if trying to test if it were real or not.
Elise then, slowly set her head down on the counter of the bar, where her arms already rested. She kept wearing that stare that said “nobodies home” with her glassy and odd eyes, one eye being of a mossy green color but the iris of the left eye completely black with only a faint green ring around it, this was due to her permanent heterochromia, but she could see perfectly well out each eye, it only served to make her gaze even stranger. After about ten minutes of this the girl glanced over at Legion who she had felt looking at her moments ago. “Something you needed..?” The girl mumbled, more to herself than anyone else.

Elise Linnet arched a thin black eyebrow, she was pale as death with faint dark circles under her large eyes, yet the girl of only seventeen was still what one would usually consider pretty, despite her peculiar eyes are short quiff style haircut. She blinked when Legion spoke to her and then muttered, taking a sip of the mint colored alcohol that sat in front of her “Quite
Quite alright.” She then laughed wearily “And you
?” All the while her eyes darted around as if the room were filled to the brim with quickly moving people, even though the bar was not even half full that night. One could hear the sound of her bright red converse sneakers tapping in rapid succession on the leg of the barstool she sat at, she simply exuded paranoia and stress. Elise spoke up again "Why are you watching me?" her tone was very accusing now.

Elise Linnet chewed her bottom lip nervously with ivory white teeth, before speaking in a nonchalant tone “Yeah.” She said dismissively as if there was a very obviously frightening presence in the bar.
The girl didn’t seem to want to linger on the subject, her funny eyes sweeping the room for what was at least the tenth time in their brief conversation. “You’ve been here for years
? Gambits..? “She paused and muttered “Or
Oh I’m so stupid you meant Wing City
” Elise herself had just arrived in town that day after hitchhiking a few days and booked the cheapest room in Gambits hotel.

Elise Linnet had no strange powers, she was a cut and dry human, unlike a lot of the miserable young ladies who came into Gambits during the wee hours of the night. She let out a rough laugh that was almost a sigh, her voice was weary yet still had that sarcasm pulled off so well by human teenagers “You’re quite well rehearsed, don’t ya’ think...Cassanova? I give you an eight out of ten; you could have done more regal hand motions.” She figured he was just another older guy looking to get in bed with the teenage runaway who no one was looking for, or at least that’s what she expected.
After popping another white pill produced from the pocket of her black straight legged jeans, she seemed to look around the room less, although it made her brain fuzzy from time to time she’d rather take the pills than hear voices in her head and see strange shadow men in the bar.
“I’m Elise, You know like the song
” She was referring to “Letter to Elise” By The Cure.

Elise Linnet smirked in her jaded way “I’m calling you a womanizer, Cassanova, you know. “ She ran a pale hand through her black hair that was cropped so boyishly short. The girl Then took the wide plastic headphones that she wore around her neck off, and offered them to Legion “Wanna take a listen? It’s the Cure, sort of a new wave band , ever hear of them?”

Elise Linnet nodded staring off into nowhere for a few moments, her eyes dimmed by the medication. “I think it’s about telling someone to let go of their dreams before the make-believe runs out
” She mumbled this pretty inaudibly. Elise leaned back on the bar, one could see now she was skinny as a rail, probably not having eaten in a day or two.

Elise Linnet rubbed her eyes, trying to keep her vision from going foggy, she hated the medicine but wasn’t sure if she disliked seeing frightening people and hearing voices in her brain any less. She ruffled her black hair once more. “I’m just fine over here, Legion. What about you..? ” She gave a playful yet weak smile; she had all the air and easy boyish grace of a punky tomboy but the expression of a person who had been tranquilized for acting out at a mental institution.

Elise Linnet let out a rather random laugh, or rather half of a laugh, in fact it was more like an amused huff. “Human bravado? You speak as if you aren’t
” She paused and then her face turned to mild surprise, and then relaxed more than it had all night “But you’re not are you? Of course you’re not human.” She then looked away from Legion and began muttering to herself in hushed tones “Nope
Nope
Not upping my dose this time, still seeing shadow men on two Chlorpromazine
” Shadow men were what she called her hallucinations that she didn’t know very personally, some would stay around for a while and she’d call them by whatever names they had told her to use, most of the time Elise knew they weren’t real because when she took her antipsychotic they disappeared but still when she felt like she knew them she would address them by name, but if one frightened her or wasn’t well known she just called the hallucination a shadow man, despite its gender. She came up with this little nickname quite some time ago and it had stuck with her , having had paranoid schizophrenia since about the age of fourteen.

.
/me grinned feverishly “’Course, What’s it matter, you’re not real, why shouldn’t I speak openly.” She leaned her skeletal figure back against the bar’s counter. “So, tell me...” Her tone was pleasant and conversational “How does one go about making a human costume?” She crossed one willowy leg over the other, waiting to hear about a demon masquerading as a man, oh she did always have the most interesting encounters within her own mind.

Elise Linnet nodded with a mild smile still on her face “Magic
But of course.” She raised her eyebrows and then furrowed them when he started doing what to her seemed like preaching “Alright, alright, reverend, I’m an atheist for Christ sake, Can we pull it back a bit with the Jesus freak routine?” She rolled her oddly shaded eyes back for a moment, in a manner oh-so fitting for a seventeen year old human girl.
She didn’t much listen but some of what he said applied to her, she was young and pretty but certainly didn’t take care of herself and that was evident in the fact that she had just taken pills with alcohol and looked so thin it was as a light breeze could carry her off. Despite her sulky nature she had to laugh when he finished with being soluble in water, almost forgetting that he was probably just a figment of a mentally distressed imagination.

Elise Linnet glanced sideways at him, his holier-than-thou attitude was starting to irk her somewhat, especially since she thought him another one of her hallucinations, at least most of the time her schizophrenic illusions never attempted to convert her to religion. “I don’t believe your wholly real either bub, And yeah...Yeah it’s not taught in schools and that’s a good thing. You’re not one of those types who doesn’t even believe in evolution are you?” She may have been mentally unsound but Elise stood pretty firm in her beliefs.

Elise Linnet smiled looking quite unfazed “Don’t worry, I’m kinda funny in the head, I guess my medicines not working tonight
” She figured she’d better go along with him as the visions often turned frightening if she denied their existence “Yeah man. Totally, you’re real.” Her voice was oddly soothing at that point as she looked at him in the way a mother might when assuring their child that monsters weren’t real.

Elise Linnet began to laugh and shake her head finally putting her face in both of her pale palms a moment before running them across it and through her jet black hair.
Her voice was light and airy with a note of sarcasm “Oh man
You know what
You can go ahead and try to do some voodoo on me but I was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic a while back, that’s like
Deluxe crazy...So I hear.”

Elise Linnet nodded slowly her chin turned slightly upwards “Yeah, Legion that’s really cool and everything, but just about every single one of my delusions say that they’re real, a lot of time I believe them” She paused a moment, collecting her thoughts “You know the only reason I’m not totally wigging out on ya’ now is because I know you’re not real, but you know I really would have believed you if I hadn’t taken my medicine, it makes me see reality a bit clearer but it makes my mind get pretty wonky too.” Her statement was a bit disjointed at best , but at least she wasn’t coming undone or anything. After a moment of what seemed to be thought she added with a friendly though strange smile “You’re okay man.”

Elise Linnet nodded in response to his thanks and grinned broadly showing two rows of snow colored teeth, he wasn't so bad for a figment of her distressed psyche. "Oh you know ran away from home, didn't wanna be commited again, got on a train, hitchhiked for a while visited a few different cities and ended up here." She wouldn't have normally been so flippant with her story but Elise was pretty convinced Legion wasn't even really there, so she was sure her secrets were safe with him.

Elise Linnet smiled lightly, looking so worn down it would have been easy, only for a moment to forget she was so young. "Worry about me...?" She shrugged indifferently "Most of the time I spent my days commited to a mental health facility or rehabilitation center...some shit like that anyway. So no I don't expect they're too worried, its only my ma' anyway."

Elise Linnet 's eyebrows raised and she looked amused "Doctors searching for me..? I was a bit of a burden so I doubt they did anything but maybe file a missing persons report, besides I think they kinda have a policy there, if your own family doesn't care much to visit than your probably the kind of brat who doesn't need to be kept up with anyway, why save someone who doesn't even have one person who thinks they're worth it?" Elise still wore her little half-smirk after she finished speaking.

Elise Linnet chuckled softly, getting up from her chair slowly , “Well I’ll make sure to call you when I’m getting eaten by roaches tonight.” She was referring to her dingy little room at Gambits hotel. She had to admit he was much nicer than most hallucinations. She stuck out a hand “You’re alright but I should get back to my room, see ya’ around.”

Elise Linnet tenatively took the card from him, never having had an illusion give her anything before. She looked a bit worried and stuck it in her pocket, "Erm..Thanks Legion..Have a nice night..." She slipped up the stairs and into her squalid little room.

Elise Linnet ran erratically down the stairs from the cheapest and dingiest room in gambits hotel, she skipped her medication today as she was running out, so she had this strange clarity about her gaze that one would not find in her on most occasions.
Elise was holding something in her right hand; it seemed to resemble a business card of some sort. The human teenager wore the same black straight legged jeans that clung to her pencil thin legs as the day before, but they seemed to be freshly laundered, if one counted having been stewed in a bathtub filled with detergent as laundered.
Elise wore a different shirt today, it had a black and white design on it that seemed to be the outline of people on a stage and read “Adam And The Ants” it fit a bit loosely around her waif-like body, she probably still hadn’t eaten much, it’s not that she wouldn’t have, she simply liked having a place to stay better than the usual three meals a day, and couldn’t afford both. As soon as her bright red converse sneakers hit the floor she hardened her expression and shouted “You!” while pointing a spindly finger straight at Legion.

Elise Linnet ‘s peculiar heterochromatic green and black eyes had almost an animal nature to them when she began to circle Legion’s table with her hands on her thin hips.
Her voice was a little shrill and rough, unlike the weary yet tuneful tone she usually held “You
You
You know what you are!?!?” Her voice was sharp as her gaze, like daggers “Do you?!” She was now feverishly waving the little card he had given her about, as if it was unequivocal proof of him being something absolutely revolting.
