Name: Embre Foster
Age: 19
Race: Human
Significant Relations: Fellow students at Celestia; Lan Varynus, a childhood friend.

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 134lbs
Hair Colour: Blonde
Eye Colour: Hazel
Build: Slim
Skin Tone: Fair

Personality: Wild, unpredictable and ever-so-slightly crazy are three ways to describe Embre. An atypical student party animal. Embre isn't a girly-girl, though, even if she'd fit in like a charm with the cheerleaders and co. Something of a hybrid, Embre has both an aptitude for her studies and a reckless, rash and brazen side. A friend of Lan's from childhood, she has a fierce loyalty to him and is incredibly protective of the slightly wimpy boy. A girl's got to look after her gay BFF, after all.

Skills and Talents:
  • Holding her drink.
  • Not holding her drink, if the situation calls for it.
  • A dancer -- nothing elegant or technical, but Embre can move in a club or at a party without looking like a twit.
  • Remarkably intelligent, considering the amount of time she spends off her head.
  • Talking. And talking. And talking.

Abilities:
  • Lesser Magic - Fire and Arcane.
  • Divination: Embre can, to a degree, learn an object's history simply by holding it, including who its owners were, what has happened around it and what it has been used for. This also applies to things like hair, blood, and even plants
  • Retrocognition: Embre can often display knowledge of a past event she has experienced that she could not have acquired by normal means given where she was or what she was doing at the time. For example, she could relate back to you the features of a man who walked into a bar, took a package, and out again, whilst the entire time having been facing the other way.

(Note: Embre's Divination and Retrocognition are not always entirely reliable, as she is still studying)

So begins...

Embre walked into the bar, twirling her wand around in between her fingers. She seemed distracted, paying little attention to where she put her feet as she moved through the crowd, more focused on the small book she held. As a result, after only a few steps, she bumped into Omitsu, stumbling slightly and accidentally releasing a burst of sparks from the wand in her surprise, that flew off into the bar, hopefully not setting anyone on fire.

"Oh, err... oops."

Embre directed an indignant glare at Laurent. "Excuse me? Ex-fucking-cuse me? You patriarchal bitch!" she snapped. "And in case you don't know what that means, you beer-guzzling oaf - because I can state sweeping stereotypes too - that mean's you 'sexist' bitch."

Embre scowled "Don't even think about it! I'm perfectly willing to accept it was my damn fault, but I'm not willing to take such a sexist comment without kicking up a fuss."

Embre "Ohoho, look who thinks himself mister bigshot! Listen here, pretty boy, I was perfectly ready to apologise and be on my way, but just listen to yourself! You sound like a complete twat! The fact that you have a nice guy-" Embre jerked her thumb at Omitsu "-as your friend leads me to hope desperately you aren't a complete twat, but you're not really helping yourself!"

Embre shook her head "No! I'm not pissed off with you! I'm pissed off with your friend! If he was as willing to be pleasant about this as you, I'd be perfectly happy to cooperate!"

Embre was in this argument out of principals now, and bugger if she wasn't willing to bitch to high heaven for those alone.

Embre hissed angrily "Pleasant when the situation calls for it." she muttered under her breath. "I'll show you fucking pleasant when the situation calls for it."

Muttering a few words, Embre began waving her wand in a pattern of motions even as she walked away to the bar. She had a nasty little curse up her sleeve that would teach that bastard manners.

Embre continued her mutterings, the incantation progressing along with the movement of her wand. With a final utterance, she flicked the wand at Laurent, an invisible projectile flying out in an arc where it would burst over the man's head, laying a curse upon him, unless he had some sort of magical resistance.

Lasting for up to a month, Laurent would now suffer from immediate and embarrassing bowel troubles - ranging from vomiting, to diarrhoea - whenever he made a comment that was demeaning, harsh, unpleasant or otherwise rude. It could be circumvented with careful sarcasm, but any outright rude comments would trigger it. The witch tutted in satisfaction and smiled smugly. The only indicator Laurent would get of the curse would be a slight shiver.

Embre The curse would fade slightly with every suppressed rude comment, and increase in duration with every rude comment made, hopefully meaning the bastard would learn his lesson before the month was out.

Embre "Now who sells the drinks in this damn place?" the woman asked the room in general, glancing around behind the counter. "What've I gotta do to get a G'n'T around here?"

Embre nodded her head in greeting to Xander, who had taken a seat next to her. "Afternoon' hun'." she said, smiling at the boy. "Aren't you a pretty one, hm?" she added, chuckling.

Turning to Omitsu, she smiled "A gin and tonic if you would, please." she requested, making a point of being polite.

Embre grinned at Xander, running a hand through her hair idly. "Shy too eh? Poor thing, I imagine you're probably terrible with the girls too, hm? The quiet kid, the one who sits in the corner and gets on with things, but nobody bothers to talk to? I'm just guessin' here of course..." she trailed off as her drink was brought.

"Thanks a bunch, sweets." she said, smiling at Omitsu. "I'm alright for now, but maybe boyo here wants something?"

Embre scoffed, "That ain't no way to look at things, kid." she said, despite being only two or three years older than the other, "People'll keep listenin' so long as you say the right things, keep 'em hanging on ya words. I'm sure an interestin' lad like yourself can find plenty o' things to talk about. So long as my gut ain't wrong about you, I think you got a lot o' story to tell."

Embre harrumphed, shaking her head. "Now don't be such a downer, kid. You gotta keep talkin' even if it ain't for their listenin', gotta talk for your own good. It ain't healthy to clam up, you've gotta open your mouth and just let whatever needs to pour out, pour out."

Embre elbowed Xander in the ribs gently "First sign o' madness that is." she noted "Ain't you got anyone ya talk to a lot then?"

Embre nodded her head to the boy, grinning "Name's Embre, and I don't bite, honest. No need to throw y'self away like that, or do I just not know my own strength?" the woman joked.

Embre blinked "Oh, sorry hun." she said, grimacing slightly at her faux pas. "You been gettin' into scraps, or just a fall, or somethin' else?"

Embre frowned suspiciously, but inwardly shrugged, if the kid wasn't going to tell, he wasn't going to tell. "You got any mates you hang about with?" she asked, entirely uncaring of how prying her questions were. Embre wasn't one for following the unspoken rules of conversation, just as she wasn't one for attending to socially accepted niceties, such as avoiding disapproval or maintaining dignity.

Embre blinked once more, taken aback by this strong reaction. "Oh, well, I'm glad you have such understandin' friends - I would think if one o' my friends weren't speakin' to me it were out of meanness or that I'd done somethin' to offend." she said, truthfully. "But I guess each to their own."

Embre watched Xander with nothing but kind-hearted concern on her face. "Kid, I think someone done you some serious wrong in the past, you look like a guy withdrawin' into his shell o' uncaring, because if he starts carin'; he starts hurtin'." she said, drumming her fingers on the counter near her barely touched drink.

Embre scowled "Now listen here kid, you can do yourself all the damage you want through your way o' thinkin', but don't you go bitin' my head of just 'cause I'm tryin' to lend a friendly ear. Ain't nobody in this age dependin' on the kindness o' strangers, but that's only cause it's so rare." she snapped.

"Don't you walk away from me kid!" she called after him, making to stand herself.

Embre stormed up to the departing Xander, and stuffed the note back into his hand. "And you can keep your money! A simple thanks would'a done wonders." she muttered. "Kind strangers don't come around often kid, I just hope you'll have your head set on the right way next time one comes around."

Embre blinked and glanced over her shoulder. "There you go, that weren't so hard now were it." she said, her voice softening.

"Take care of yourself, kid." she said, "If you ever get yourself set straight 'bout talking, you'll most likely find me here." she added, folding her arms as she watched the boy depart.

Embre turned about and returned to her seat at the bar. "Jeez. Eventful afternoon." she muttered to herself, glancing over at where Laurent and Omitsu were making themselves familiar with Mr Hanky and Ms Panky. She blinked, "Wouldn't 'ave thought him the type.." she murmured, chuckling to herself.
