The programs on the TV cut out and the News immediately came on as well as on the radios and other streaming platforms. "A magnitude 10 Earthquake has struck Win-" before the broadcast stations were cut off. The citizens of Celestra City paused, and everything was eerily still.
"Snow?"
It fell softly, its descent slow and gentle at first, before picking up, and beginning to choke the inhabitants. Then it struck. The Earthquake reached the city, and with one massive singular thrust, every weak building toppled, and all those on their feet were flung to the side like the toys of an angry child. Nothing stopped however, as the jolt became steady shaking. Buildings swayed, car alarms blared, children and women screamed and men hugged their wives to keep them safe as people darted for the nearest safe area they could.
It would do nothing to save them.
The coughing began with the ash, those who were already sick or with lung problems were the first to experience it as it choked them, the white and black substance poisoning their rich oceanic seaboard air as it fell thick and heavy. Only thirty seconds in, and there was already a quarter of an inch on the ground. The cars that were still running were likely thrown off the road or flipped over entirely.
A single voice growled out through the swaying shadows of the city over the rumbling of the earth.
"The Harvest Begins Anew!"
As the people of the city scrambled for cover, beasts of unholy darkness poured forth from the shifting shadows of the earth and city. As cracks appeared in the ground and opened into fissures, the creatures poured forth from them, attacking any and all people in the city without any mercy. Each body would be mutilated as the Legion of Shadows made its move.
Since their great harvest in Wing City was a resounding Success, it was time to try the other cities of the land, in this case, the major Cities of Aslund's Eastern Seaboard. Hounds of darkness and pain erupted first, chasing down those who were running, while Trappers kept those who were trying to escape from doing so. Slashers came in and finished the job, and each body slain was another soldier for the Legion.
Floating in the air above the City, the purest form of Shadowling watched and controlled their respective contingents of the Legion.
