Description

Image

Medya is a 17 year old girl, about 5'3. She looks a bit younger than she actually is. She has white hair that doesn't quite go past her shoulders, and she normally has heterochromatic eyes. One is red, and one is blue. However, when she is more one spirit, both eyes become red or blue. Her natural eye colour is brown, however, it almost never shows up. She usually wears a black long-sleeved shirt and black jeans. The only other noticeable thing is that she wears a pair of black gloves to cover the charge-circles on her wrists.

Personality

Medya has three personalities. However, the easiest indicator of which is which, is the eye colour, and how she acts. Dark Medya is the nicest, and tends to be more kind-hearted. D-Medya is more cheerful, social and enjoys the company of other people. However, normal Medya is impassive. She shares traits with L-Medya and D-Medya. She tries to avoid trouble and too much conversation. This is because the conflicting D-Med and L-Med personalities cause her to be bi-polar. She can go from snappish to apologizing immediately. Finally, L-Medya is the darker side. She's also the more adult of the three personalities. Tends to be a flirt, however, angers easily and enjoys fight. All in all, this would be Medya's sadistic part.

D-Med = red eyes. L-Med = blue eyes. Normal Med = one of each.

Equipment

Medya carries a small-ish backpack with all her things in it.

Skills: Medya's special battle abilities are confined to her arms. Both spirits are manifested, however, each arm has 8 charges, represented by a small circle embedded around her wrists with 8 sections. When lit, there is a charge. In essence, this is the amount of times she can use a skill. They regain a charge in about 5 minutes, however as Medya gets tired, the time is increased. The dark energy is in the right arm, and the light is the in the left.

Devil's Right: A punch filled with darkness energy. Explodes on contact with an enemy, the immediate area is filled with a smoke-like effect, blinding the opponent and and others nearby. The smoke lasts for a few seconds before dissipating.

Angel's Left: A punch filled with light. On contact, releases light, similar to the Devil's right, it blinds. However, the Angel's Left is more offensive. The flash lasts for only a second, its main effect is to cause a small energy explosion.

Devil's Shield: Medya creates a shield made of dark energy, canceling out any magic that it comes in contact with. Deflects ranged projectiles, and gives a few seconds of paralysis for physically contacting the shield.

Angelic Scythe: Medya sweeps her arm, creating a blade-like energy that speeds towards the opponent. Three scythes per charge.

Devil's Blessing: Medya releases a flow of dark energy, supporting the target's life in some fashion. It is conformable enough to be useful in most situations.

Flight: Wings sprout from near the base of the arms, one is a white-bat type, while the other is a black-crow like one. As long as each arm has at least one charge, this costs none to keep in effect.

Rarely seen, Medya can occasionally synchronize both arms, and go into a more powerful state. In this mode, she gains increased speed and power, and all of her moves are buffed. However, it only lasts for about 3 minutes before she returns to normal, in an exhausted state.

Medya has strong mental powers, however, most of the time they are suppressing the two spirits inside of her. Thus, her powers are restricted to basic telekinesis and telepathy. She can lift small objects with a bit of concentration. She can also establish a mental link with a nearby person, allowing communication. She almost always asks for permission first before doing so, though.

History

Medya was orphaned at a young age. She doesn't remember her parents, and was taken into a religious household. Since she was little, she has had strong mental powers. This power was noticed by an angel. However, this was an angel who was not content with its current position. It flew to Medya and possessed her, putting her into a coma-like state. Her household noticed this, and assuming she had been taken over by devils, tried to call upon divine power to save her. Ironically, and amazingly, something did come. However, it was actually a renegade death god, a pacifist. The death god also merged into Medya's body, however, it did so with the intent to save her. These two now-spirits are still fighting inside of the girl, Medya. When Medya woke up from her coma, her foster family was relieved, believing it to be divine intervention. However, to be sure, they sent her to a famous priest. This priest figured out what was happening inside of her, and with her agreement, embedded the power collecting charge-circles in her arms. These circles were supposed to keep the spirits under control, however, they have had the added effect of storing energy, which Medya has learned to use. Since then, she has also learned to suppress their personalities with her powers - with the help of the priest, however three minds inside of her has made her slightly mentally unstable.

So begins...

Medya wasn't quite sure what she was doing there. She had accepted a quest, rather, Dark Medya, her conscious, had. So, here she was, meandering about, looking for someone she didn't even know. Anyone who didn't know her personally, would've found it strange that she was having a conversation with herself. "Sheesh, D, why did you have to take that quest?" "Shut up, L. All you would've done is flirt with the guys in that bar, anyway." "Break it up, guys. This is my body, and no one's doing anything with it." Medya pulled up her gloves as she spotted a person in the distance. "Now shush. I think that's the person we're looking for."

Medya was fairly certain the hooded person...woman..?.. was most definitely who she was looking for. However, the quest had been strangely vague, so Medya - and her two other personalities - decided to follow to woman for a while. She noticed the woman make a purse almost disappear, but didn't mind. It wasn't her business to stop a thief, after all. That wasn't in the job description. "Med, we can't let her do that!" "Shut up, D. You'll blow our cover. Let's find out why she's the target, first."

Medya swore under her breath. It seemed the woman had noticed her, somehow. She readied both of her arms in case a fight broke out, and followed as quietly as she could. Medya used one of her energy charges from each hand to boost herself up to the nearby building roof, and continued to track the woman. 7 charges left...

While the strange, perhaps fae-blooded woman had finally decided to throw off her disguise, Medya figured that while she had been noticed, she hadn't been seen quite yet, and pulled her cloak over her face. She ran quickly after the woman, not noticing the man who had ducked into the alley on the other side of her. "Med, we gonna take her down or what?" "I'm not sure yet, El. I'll figure it out when she stops running, eh? Don't worry, Dee. I won't kill her. Not yet, at least."

Medya could have cheered at her good luck, however, she managed to keep it to a happy squeal. She carefully jumped off the building, rolling a bit as she made contact with the ground. However, at this point, she had noticed the man who also seemed to be following the woman. Medya chose to hide herself behind a nearby wall, and only intervene if it seemed something dangerous was going to happen. After all, she didn't know her quest yet, exactly. She still had 7 charges per arm, and hoped she wouldn't need all of them...

And suddenly, Medya was confused. The fae-woman had disappeared into the shadows, simply..gone! She wasn't quite sure of what to do, as she had lost her quest. The man who had been trying to help the woman seemed like bad news, though. She tried to hide herself in the dark alley, as she slowly doubled back down the way she had come. "Oh shit. We lost our target, Med." "Yeah, El. I know, you wanna fight that weird guy, but we're not gonna. Dee, I'm sorry we couldn't help that woman or whatever it was we were supposed to do." "I guess..." Medya prepared her arms again, in case the man WAS looking for a fight, though.

Medya gave a glance behind her before continuing to run. It seemed the man was not following her, and she lowered her guard, disappearing into the crowd. "Some quest that was. Wild goose chase, more like it." "We could've helped her earlier!" "Shush, both of you. I'm sure that woman will come up again later. We'll just put this mission on hold for now."

Medya quietly entered the Ruby Flask. She was still tracking down the strange woman from earlier; however, it seemed her name was actually Jess Thresher. Medya still had a mission to carry out, and she would at least follow this Jess, to figure out why she had so many wanted posters on her head. Not to mention, her request seemed fairly interesting. "Oooh, loot. I love loot." "Shush, El. You'll blow our cover." "We're not gonna hurt anyone, right, Med?" "Not unless we have to, Dee."

Medya walked over to the two people, a...bird and feline-type people, she supposed. She gave Robbie a look-over, fluttering her eyelashes a bit. "Hey there. I'm also here to answer that request. Dya mind takin me, Cap'n?" Medya - or perhaps Dee - giggled a bit as she asked her question.

Medya wasn't quite sure how Dee had taken control, but that bull-crap was getting shut down right now. The change in her expression was noticeable, but not by much. "Sorry, Cap'n. I have no idea what came over me just then. Yes, I've been on a boat before, and I'm willing to learn anything that I don't know." Medya glanced back towards the two newcomers, guessing they were probably also here for the request. She didn't mind, after all, more people would help her to blend in.

Medya gave a nod. "I have as well, Cap'n. Well, not fired a weapon, but I can defend myself if need be." She raised both her arms, gesturing at them. "No need to worry on that account. And again, I have been on a boat, so no worries there. So where's the woman who put out the request?" She tilted her head a bit, curious about this answer. She was following the woman, after all, and it would be stupid to get on the boat if Jess wasn't going to be there.

If one was familiar with Medya, which few were, one would notice another change in her expression. Again, it wasn't overly obvious, but it was there. "Apologies, Captain. I didn't mean to offend, if at all. I was simply curious about meeting the person who put out the request in the first place. Meaning no disrespect, sir." However, as if by a stroke of good luck, a speak-of-the-devil moment, Jess burst in behind her. Medya panicked for a split-second, before remembering that the woman had not seen her face earlier.

Medya nodded a bit at the woman, signing her name after Rham. 'Medya' For good measure, she spelled out 'Dee-El' after, just in case she had to explain herself. And her two onboard passengers. She hoped that wouldn't be necessary, though. At this, she also took a step back, pulling down her cloak a bit and adjusting her gloves. "Well, we made it. Onward, to loot!" "Yes, but remember, we're not going to hurt anyone. Play nice." "Yeah, yeah. Both of you shush. I don't want to have to talk about you guys if I don't have to."

Medya didn't particularly recognize the name of the island, and thus paid it no mind. She followed Jess and Rham towards the boat, after giving the list of names a look-over, just in case. She checked the charges on both arms. Eight, full and ready for any problems that might arise.

Medya, while not a particularly social person, still enjoyed a party once in while. Or maybe that was El talking. In any case, she decided the occasion in the Ruby Flask was worth heading to. After all, cheap drinks were the best kind of drink. Thankfully, she did not carry weapons, so she did not have to leave anything. Her weapons were her arms, thus, there was no way she could not bring them. Medya entered the bar. "Ooh, wonder if there are any cute guys tonight." "Aren't you underage, Med?" "El, keep it under control. I don't want you flirting with everyone in here. Dee, shut up. A few drinks won't kill me."

Medya gave a nod to her "co-captain" and target. What a coincidence that she would also be here, though in reality, it should've been expected. Jess seemed like the kind of person to frequent taverns, especially on a night like this one. Medya also placed a coin on the table, and received a mug of ale. She took a seat nearby the back of the tavern, sipping quietly. In particular, she noticed the Alneh. "Hum. Interesting. Guess I won't be doing much talking today."

Medya had been watching the conversation with interest, until she saw Jess give her a wink, to her surprise. She raised her mug of ale in acknowledgement before draining it. She then proceeded to order another one. "C'mon, Med. Go socialize." "Haven't you already had too much to drink? You're so small, just that drink would get you buzzed." "S-shaddup, ya both. I'll do whad I want. An right now, I'm watchin tha person I'm supposed ta be watchin."

Medya had barely managed to keep her balance on the way to the ship. As Jess shushed them, she gave a half-assed salute and whispered "Aye-aye, miss." With that, she steadied herself and followed the pirate onto the ship, admiring it through drunken eyes. "Wowza. Really nice ship Cap'n's got here." Again, the voices came out from under her breath. "El, let's make a deal. She gets out of hand, one of us takes over, and doesn't pull anything." "Fine, fine, I gotcha. No use if she drowns, after all."

Medya gave a stupid grin as she swayed away from Jess' half-hearted swing. "Hey now, Miss Jess, I din't say nuthin of tha sort. But now ya mention it, I wouldn't be mindin a romp right bout now." She turned to give the Alneh a wink, as she added, "Dun mind her, sir. I think she's a bit tipsy." The statement, while true, was nullified by the obvious fact that Medya was also quite drunk. This was made more obvious as she giggled when Axinn almost tossed the random man into the water.

Medya was pretty drunk herself, but she had already seen all she cared to of the commotion behind her. Instead, she was quite focused on Jess, who seemed to be trying to start a fight until she was distracted. However, this woman was still her superior, for the moment, at least, and Medya had also taken a liking to the cheerful pirate. As such, she noticed a man, who she vaguely remembered seeing in the bar, sneaking up on Jess, and reaching for her lower body area. "Dun look now, Missie Jess, but it loooooks like someone else be wantin a romp wit-cha too! ~" Medya laughed, almost falling to the ground with the exertion.

Medya let out a few more gasps of laughter before regaining control of her body, and pushing herself up. "Ya dawgs heard tha first mate, everyone who's comin betta help out!" She herself ran at a steady pace towards one of the ropes, and began untying the boat from the dock. With a quick glance back, she continued observing the man who had tried to touch Jess. "Ya better watch out, Jess! That perv looks like he's gettin ready fer anotha run atcha."

Medya gave another drunken salute to Jess before grabbing a rope, jumping and rolling onto the dock, right next to Saxom. At this point, there was an obvious change in her expression as she winked at the man. "Scuse me, sir. I'll just borrow that, thank you. Here's a rope up, for ya, in payment." With a quick attempt to snatch the bottle in his hand, she materialized two wings near the base of her arms, and flew back up to the ship. As she landed, she ran in a more stable way towards Axinn and Jess. As she approached, she shouted, "All ropes away, Mate Jess. And I have your rum, too!" Medya offered Jess the bottle as she jogged up to the pair. "Thanks, El. She was getting a bit out of hand there." "Don't be. I'm gonna have some fun."

Medya made a face at Jess as she turned back towards the other side of the boat. "I'm not talking to myself, I'm talking to..you know, what, never mind. You probably wouldn't understand it, even if I did explain it. Have fun with your man over there." Of course, all of this was mostly under her breath. Medya strolled towards the crow's nest, figuring she'd take the high view. She liked high places, and thus flew up towards the 'nest. As she reached the peak, she noticed a hooded figure, who she didn't recall boarding. Then again, original drunken Medya had been in control, and so she didn't remember much, period. "Hey there, stranger. What brings you to our wonderful ship?" Along with this overly sweet statement, Medya - Dee - prepared her both of her arms with the dark and light energy she used to fight.

Dee-Medya stopped gathering her energy as the man began to speak. She seemed to recognize him, at least, drunken Medya in the back of her-their head said that he was familiar. In any case, his statement along with the recognition probably counted for something. She gave Koufan a wink. "Sorry bout that. I thought you might've come to hurt someone on the ship. What a ridiculous idea, eh? But a vagabond, huh? I can appreciate that." She stretched a bit before throwing an answer back to Jess. "Yes, yes, Mate Jess. I will do exactly that! Don't be too loud down there, now!" Dee-Medya gave a small snicker and settled down next to Koufan. "Hey, you don't mind keeping watch out for me, right? I'm gonna take a break. It's been a hard night." With that, she lied back against the wood and immediately fell asleep.
