a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by SpartanWolf

Description

Morris Stone

Physical Age: 15 Image
Actual Age: 47
Gender: Male
Race: Android
Sexuality: Asexual
Relationships/Crushes: None

Appearance: Tall and slender with thin frame. His black hair come down just to his ear and is rather messy. Behind his glasses his eyes are a dull hazel colour. His attire consists if whatever he can find, often meaning jeans and t-shirts. His skin is unnaturally smooth and in the back of his neck is a small port for wiring.

Strengths
-He doesn't feel pain and as a result is able to push his body to its limits
-He can interact with most electronic systems and interpret raw code
-His bones or chassis are made from a very strong reinforced titanium alloy
-He can simulate use of or use most program's
-He is absolutely crazy when it comes to science and will do anything if he believes it will help develop it

Weaknesses
-His battery life is approximately two weeks, if uncharged he will go into hibernation
-Strong magnetic forces can damage and corrupt his memories
-His skin, being totally synthetic, does not heal naturally when cut or damaged
-He is very heavy due to his build including metals and other substances
-An unnatural obsession over buttons and pressing them

Fears
-Being unable to conduct his experiments
-Someone stealing his ideas
-Nothing else as of yet, but seriously, what do you expect? He can't actually die as far as dying goes. Mainly because he had backups containing his memories and knowledge. It would be as simple as downloading the data into a new body through an automated program or getting someone to do it after his current body was destroyed.

Personality

Morris was and still is a very sensible and well mannered person. He used to spend hours labouring over his research, driven onwards by the adrenaline and excitement which comes with discovery. Whilst conducting research or working he was extremely persistent, ignoring as to whether something might be impossible or nonexistent. Because of this Morris often overworked himself and forced himself to become rather stressed about almost everything. Fortunately during his times out of work he adopted a relaxed and cheerful attitude, this helped to relieve most of the stress. Until recently he was an extremely antisocial shut in who only cared about himself and his research and because of this had very few friends.

However, Present day Morris is an entirely different individual in several ways. He's far more polite and interactive with others but still lacks anything above basic social skills so conversations can be difficult. He can't stand being alone or stuck in one place for more than an hour. Though despite being different and slightly more childish there are a few things about Morris which have never changed. The most obvious being how serious he is about any work he is given.

History

Morris was a genius with a passion for science. He spent his youth dreaming dreams about the great discoveries he could make and how they would benefit the world. As he grew he slowly developed these ideas which often meant putting a lot of time into research and experiments. Almost all of his equipment was homemade, parts scavenged from around his city glued, duct taped or welded together. It was because of this quality of equipment that most of Morris's theories couldn't be proved or developed. He refused to go to the government for contracts, funds or equipment as he wanted to keep the credit for everything he did. Years passed like this, experiment after experiment with the occasional pause to grab something to eat. None of Morris experiments did anything major or useful until one day there was a power surge. He had been researching the brain or, more specifically, how someones brain could control another body it was linked too. For this purpose he had built an extremely realistic human robot with nerves, skin and even something similar to a brain. The bones were made from a strong alloys and the body has mechanical lungs and organs that were controled by the brain and powered by a large battery that filled its ribcage. Though seeing as Morris had been to lazy to incorporate the use of blood into the system the presence of these organs were pointless. It's movements, like the human bodies, were controlled by muscles and electrical impulses but because the muscles are not organic they do not deteriorate and are failry strong. The doll had taken him years to make as every little detail was very important. The outcome was a doll that resembled him in his teenage years, except with a few differences in size and build.

Morris first experiment with the doll was the last in his own body. He had built a device that he could wear on his head, much like a helmet, and plug into the the bodies neck. Moments after activating the device and opening the interface a power surge occurred, short circuiting all off the equipment in the lab and causing the lights to go out. As Morris went to pull off his helmet his hand grasped on thin air. He assumed the helmet had called off and at this got out of his seat to make his way to the power box. At this point it seemed like just another experiment that had failed and Morris was pretty sure that the short circuit had probably damaged most of his equipment. But when Morris turned the lights back on and returned to the lab he found not a doll but his own body in his seat. Looking down and examining himself he realised that he had been somewhat successful but in the process confined himself to this body. Any attempts after this had proved fruitless as on every occasion something seemed to go wrong or not work. Eventually he began leave his home more frequently and roam the streets, consulting other facilities on what to do. Most didn't believe him and those that did had no clue as to how they could help.

Currently he is searching for any great scientific mind like his own or even someone who can fix this problem of his. He has a few leads and knows of several research stations which may be able to help him, Unfortunaley he doesn't have the money to reach such places.

So begins...

Morris Stone's Story

Morris crept into the bar, only taking a brief moment to glance around the room before heading towards a seat in the corner of the building. Rather than take the direct route he cut around the edges of the room trying to keep to the shadow and make as little noise as possible. He didn't like to be noticed in such places because among the patrons whom usually kept to themselves there were always a few whom only seemed to pester others. Today wasn't a day where Morris could put up with someone inquiring as to why a youth like himself was sitting in the bar or something else. If he was in his actual body there would be no questions or such, people would see him for what he really was and simply respect that. He reached a corner of the room which he considered to be relatively quiet and sat down, pulling a note pad and pen from his pocket as he did so.

Morris looked around the bar, checking to see if anyone was looking his way. He wanted to be as discrete as possible about what he was about to do, it wasn't like he didn't like people seeing him do it but the questions which came with them often annoyed him. After confirming that no one was looking at him he pulled from his pocket a small rectangular electronic device with a wire hanging out of one end. He grabbed the end of the wire and pulled it out the box, as the wire extended he guided it to the back of his neck then eventually into a small port. There was a subtle clicking noise as the wire was locked into place. Morris then closed his eyes, leaning back in his seat as he did so. It was unlikely he would be disturbed as unless someone realised he had no heart beat or didn't breath it would seem as though he was sleeping or listening to music. For a brief moment all he could see was darkness, the back of his eyelids. Then some green lettering appeared, ones and zeros began scrolling across his vision and were being translated into data understandable by his brain subconsciously.

Morris remained silent and still, listening into the nearest conversation as he lay back in his seat. It didn't surprise him when the male offered to buy the female a meal and did so, it wasn't unusual in such a place. He opened one eye slightly to look for any new faces and noticed a few, though none were familiar to him. Realising this he closed his eyes again and returned his focus to writing with a virtual notepad program he had taken, modified and installed on his own system. Once he had finished this he began to send the data from his own storage unit to the portable memory device he was currently linked to. As he was doing so a small alert popped up and the device made an irritating beeping noise. In the corner of his vision he could read the words -Unit 2 Memory Full-. Upon reading this he let a sigh part from between his lips and yanked the cable from the back of his neck. He muttered something to himself as he stuffed the portable memory unit into his pocket. "Unbelievable... I thought it would last longer."

Morris groaned, hunched over in his seat. This kid was really annoying, since it had came in it had been making a fuss and disrupting the peace. The kid shouldn't even be there, he was hoping that someone would be smart enough to either toss her out or shut her up soon. He was considering getting out his seat and doing this himself when a new figure entered the bar, a cat, and began to question what was going on. Morris spoke in reply and quite loudly, wanting to make sure the other patrons heard him also. "Some kid just crawled in here and started wailing, She didn't have an adult or such with her so she's most likely on her own. Now could someone please shut her up or do I have to do it myself!?"

Morris rose from his seat, looking at the patrons around the girl. None of them were stopping her and so, he decided he would do as the woman had told him to do only a moment ago and deal with her himself. As he edge towards her he heard laughter throughout the bar and whilst this spooked him it didn't stop him. Though it seemed this laugher did have an effect on the girl as a shortly after she collapsed. With this the wailing had stopped and Morris reasons to go any where near the girl was gone. He still felt inclined to do so however, not wanting to leave her in such a place where she might wake up later and continue crying. As he neared her he knelt beside the child then prodded her shoulder gently, checking if she was awake. "Listen, You can't sleep there."

Morris prodded the girl once more and, realising he was getting no response, turned to see a woman whom had just approached with a weapon. He got to his feet and dusted himself off. He pointed down at the unconscious girl as he spoke to the woman "What do you suppose we do with her? She can't stay here". He hoped she had some clue as to what to do, he wouldn't trust her to take this child carrying a weapon around like that but she seemed to have experience and knowledge which he lacked.

Morris made his way back to his seat, thankful that the girl had finally been dealt with. He now had the silence he needed to focus about his research and write up a few more theories. None of them had worked before but that wasn't just bad luck, he couldn't help it if everything he tried went wrong. At this point it occurred to him that whilst he might be doing things wrong there must be someone out there who's doing it all right. So just before he sat down at his seat he paused, deciding that he might as well ask around the bar for some information. Perhaps there were others about whom could help him out. He thought back to whom he had already encountered the day, eventually deciding that he might be best just picking out patrons at random. He didn't know any of them that well. He made a full turn and wandered over to where the cat had taken a seat, sitting down next to him. With some hesitation he spoke, trying to keep his voice down to a quiet level where only the cat would hear him. "Excuse me."

Morris leaned on the counter as he spoke, looking the cat over whilst doing so. "You seem knowledgeable, you were able to grasp as to what was going on earlier... Whatever that was". At this he paused, shuffling in his seat slightly as he took a second to think about what he was going to say next. "So, do you perhaps know of any good scientists or doctors.?"

Morris groaned, leaning even further forwards onto the counter. He looked over to the cat, whom seemed totally uninterested in him. It might have been best that he left things off here but he couldn't as he still needed information. He inched slightly closer and asked him a few more questions. "Alright, Does this scientist have a name, you know where I can find her?" He knew that by now he was probably annoying this cat but he was curious. He tapped his foot impatiently as he waited for a reply.

Morris grinned, his attitude improving as the cat went on. This sounded as though it exciting, a search like this was something that would really get his blood pumping and the fact that it was all helping develop his works made it even better. Though there were still a few issues he have to deal with before he even though about setting out. The first task he would deal with was to be his impoliteness, being shut away at home for a while had lead him to forget about such manners. Morris extended a hand towards the cat, introducing himself as he did so. "Thanks a lot, And Im Morris by the way. Sorry for not introducing myself before I started asking you all this"

Morris nodded to Jubei, he was always serious when he made a decision to do something and he could understand the mans worry about his daughter. "Alright Jubei, If I find her Ill let you know how she's doing. Though if I do and she's able to help me out with my current problem then chances are I won't look much the same. Anyways, where do you reckon I should start?". Morris leaned back after asking this, taking a quick glance around the room before looking back to Jubei. He was glad to have made what might be an ally as from what he had seen he knew things could get rough.

Morris raised an eyebrow at this. A giant demon with cyborg enhancements, this didn't sound all to safe. He blinked once, opening up a program in the corner of his vision which would run a program to compare himself to such a being. He entered what he thought would be accurate estimates of the demons strength then turned his focus back to Jubei. "Doesn't sound like the kind of crowd you'd want your daughter to be hanging out with. I mean... Demons... Really?"

Morris saw a box appear in the corner of his vision, displaying the results of the program. According to the program he stood no chance against such a beast. If he found his daughter then he would have to be real careful or be killed. He spoke back to the cat, continuing the conversation. "Made it? Did she build a robot from scratch or something?"

Morris got up from his seat, adjusting his jacket as though he getting ready to leave. Before he did however he directed one more question at Jubei. "How can I find this Tager, Might I find him anywhere in wing city or will I have to travel further than that?". He was determined and even if Jubei could tell him nothing Morris was sure he'd find the mans daughter eventually. Though some information would speed up the process.

Morris took a step into the space port, tripping on a piece of trash as he did so. He fell forwards and made quite some noise as he landed on his face. As he climbed back to his feet he let out a long groan, embarrassed and humiliated. Rather than look around him to see the faces of the onlookers he took large cloth bag off his back and peered inside, checking to make sure nothing had fallen out. A smile spread across his face as he was relived that nothing was damaged. "That was close, I need to be more careful with this though". At this he began to wander over towards one of the older launch towers: the bag making a loud rattling sound as he dragged it away. Morris grabbed a tank of fuel as he made his way over. Once there the teenager began to set up an odd contraption, sliding, glueing and smashing parts together to build what looked like a aircraft of some sort.

Morris spent a quite some time assembling his ship, often having to hammer parts back in as they fell out or rewire some circuitry because it didn't function. The outcome of all this effort, time and noise was a what seemed to be a motorcycle with wings welded to the sides, a tail wing welded to the rear above a small jet engine and an abnormally large fuel tank crammed into the place where there would normally be a much smaller tank. Others might have seen it as a peice of junk but to Morris this was a fantastic device he could use to travel miles effortlessly... If it worked. The teenager had convinced himself that this bike would fly because he had positioned the wings correctly and ran several calculations as to how much energy would be needed to take off. This was to be its first test where he would ride it out of the space port. Morris mounted the bike, as he leant forwards in the seat he pulled a wire from inbetween the bikes handlebars and plugged it into the back of his neck. The fuel tank was full and as the engine started all seemed to be fine. To make sure this was true he ran a examination program which would ensure vital parts were functioning. Whilst waiting for the program to finish he took one last look around the spaceport.

Morris head a subtle beep as the program finished. He was all ready to go. He reached forwards and turned the throttle, grinning as the bike crept forwards and slowly gained speed. It didn't take long for him to max out his speed and when the jet kicked in he was lifted off the ground. The wings shook slightly but fortunately the build held. A cry of success came from Morris but this way overwhelmed by the sound of the jet on the bike screeching. The whole chassis began to shake as the home build craft accelerated rapidly into the sky. He was barely able to hold on as the wind resitance pulled him back. Another loud crack could be heard and a wing torn from the bike, sending Morris and his mount spiralling. The terrified Morris was screaming and letting off curse words as he and his ride arced away from the spaceport, leaving a trail of smoke in its wake.

Morris dragged himself into the bar, pausing just momentarily to dust himself off before looking back up and around the bar, wearing an expression which suggested he was rather bored. He had various cuts in his arms and cheeks which despite being quite deep showed no sign of bleeding. His clothing and glasses were also damaged, he looked asthough he had just been in an explosion of some sort. Upon spotting Jubei Morris directed a small wave in his direction then, unsure if he had noticed him or not, began to make his way over to him. As he got closer he called a greeting over to Jubei, nodding as he spoke. "Hey Jubei"

Morris nodded as he collapsed into a seat near Jubei. "I haven't given up yet, I was just testing my bike earlier seeing as I don't have any leads yet." He gestured at himself and the wounds he had sustained, as though to indicate the outcome of his testing. Unsure of what to say next he simply sat and examined the other patrons for a few seconds. After spending some time looking around the bar, he took notice of the girl whom had spoken to Jubei earlier. "So, Is she a friends of yours?", He asked as he nodded towards the girl.

Morris looked at the girl, he glanced down at his arm and examined the wounds. After a moment of thought he moved his focus back over to Sammy ,leaning forwards in his seat as he spoke, trying to be as clear as possible. "Well, turns out that strapping a jet to an old bike and trying to fly it isn't a good idea . And my names Morris by the way, good to meet you Sammy." He slouched back in his chair and shifted his gaze over to where the girl was looking, curious as to what had caught her attention.

Morris looked back over to Jubei, shaking his head at his advice. "Jubei, I haven't got the time or cash to buy a dummy. And besides, this bodies original purpose was for testing anyways so it can withstand most of the stuff I throw at it." After explaining this he turned to Sammy whom had just bombarded him with questions. He thought about what he had been asked for a minute and then began to speak to her. "Yeah, bikes aren't built to fly but I thought it would be fun to try make one fly using my scientific knowledge. Also Thank you for the compliment, I think your name is pretty cool too." He grinned as he finished speaking, He liked this kid because she reminded him of himself in his youth. Always asking questions even when it seemed as though there wasn't much to ask about.

Morris listened careful to what Sammy and Jubei said, It wasn't that hard to understand Jubei but Sammy was another matter. Throwing off all the questions so quickly left him struggling to keep up but he managed. As she finished speaking he noticed a girl curled up under the table and tempted as he was to ask her why she was there he refrained from doing so. Morris turned and responded to Jubeis advice, glad that he wasn't making any fuss over his rash treatment of this body."Alright Jubei, I promise I won't get myself killed. I'm not stupid." At this Morris got up from his seat and walked over to Sammy, crouching slightly so he was nearer her eye level. He wasnt sure how much the girl would understand so he wanted to keep things simple. "Sammy, You know what an android is?"

Morris nodded, androids were a type of robot so the girl was right in that aspect but He didn't think Sammy really understood. "Yeah, An android is kinda just a robot with human skin. I'm an android now but I was completely human before, I ended up putting my mind into this body by accident." Once he explained this he turned and walked back over to his seat, thinking about hat he what heard on the news broadcast. He might have considered evacuating if could but he had to stay on the plant and care for his original body. As Morris sat down he looked back over to Sammy, a small grin appeared on his face as he saw she had fallen asleep.

Morris sped through the streets on his home built motorcycle. The machines engine was smoking quite badly and giving off a horrible stench, that of fuel. This probably meant his fuel was leaking but Morris didnt really care. Aslong as his bike was functioning it he saw no good reason to tinker with it further. As he moved through the crowds he let his speed drop slightly, just so he could look around as he pushed forwards. Ofcourse because he was so focused on the crowds around him he did run over a few feet and some very abuse language was thrown in his direction. To him what happened to others wasnt too big a deal, it wasn't like he had hit them head on or anything so there was hardly much to complain about. He looked back over his shoulder just as he turned a corner on his bike. Then he heard a loud snapping sound. He moved to pull the brakes but he was too late, the back half of his bike had been ripped off. This left Morris holding the handlebars on the front half of his bike to crash into the nearest wall. It wasn't pleasant, Morris was thrown forwards and hit the wall first. The remain half of his bike soon followed and hit him in the chest.
