Happening upon the ruins, the archer could not help but to scavenge for hidden items or just discover what the place had been in its prime. So far, Mylor had seen nothing but old bones and crumbling stone. She had loosened her bow a long time ago while wandering and meandering through the various empty rooms. Only when she arrived in the Library did Mylor pause and draw up her recurve bow.

"It appears that these ruins are not as empty as I first thought," Mylor called out while her eyes scrutinized the man and the book which lay between his hands. She had no idea what it said for the woman could not read. Her hand remained steadfast at her cheek and the arrow which was knocked would shoot true if he appeared hostile.

There was a tense moment where she pulled the bow's string even more tight but she could not let it fly. Mylor let down her bow though she did not relieve her hands of it. "You have gold. Show it to me," the woman said while truly looking at him this time. He was very attractive and handsome but such men as he, Mylor did not trust. Men who had beautiful faces were the most malicious and manipulative of them all. "Move slow and do not make sudden movements or you will find my arrow stuck in your throat," Mylor threatened, eyeing him like an eagle.

"Empty it on the table," Mylor said while nodding her head towards the surface he sat before. "I want proof there is gold in there. I have been fooled before by sneaky bards and cutpurses before. I see you as no different, stranger." Mylor was no fool and it clearly showed that she was not just another simple thief, but a survivalist.

Mylor was quick to throw her bow over her shoulder but with deft hands did she slip out a small dagger. She held the smaller weapon out towards him, point first, while making her way toward the desk. "You are obviously one of these traveling scholars or a bard that needs a new tale to weave for coin," she replied while never letting her eyes drop from the man. Arriving at the desk, she took a few pieces of whatever he had placed on the desk into her hands and then looked down to inspect them.

A mage. Mylor knew her place in the tier of powers and knew that she had no chance. So far the woman had shown as inadept at wielding the arcane arts or any sort of phenomenal abilities. Her skill was in markmanship and stealth, or survival. "A mage, you say," she said throwing the coins back onto the table. She did not want trinkets from a conjurer. Anything which came from their class was enchanted and dangerous. Mylor was highly wary of the people with their powers.

"One trick and I will cut you where you stand with my dying breath," Mylor threatened while slipping her dagger back into the light armor she wore; scarred armor which denoted that she was no stranger to battle herself. "Mylor Nys'dani from the Clearwater Village," the woman said with an untrusting tone.

"Tell me what you were doing here."

Seven swords which unlocked untold treasures. It appeared that a quest was forming in Mylor's destiny. There were no coincidences. "I am listening," the woman said while closing the distance between them. She needed to be at least within arm's reach in order to stab him if Alrion made a wrong move.

"What riches is it supposed to hold?"

As Alrion took a step back, Mylor took two toward him attempting to herd him into a corner. She would adjust her steps left or right according in order to do so, but of course if he caught on, she would not pursue the attempt to pin him any longer. "Magical swords and unfathomable riches. I've never heard such a farfetched story in my life or my travels. And believe you me, mage, I have been to many places before we met this day," Mylor said while her hand went to the pommel of her own sword; The Broken Sword.

"Let me see your sword," Mylor said closing in on him like some predator chasing her prey but not yet readying herself for the pounce. "And if you plan on drawing it against me, I have my own blade which will match it as it holds its own legend," the woman bluffed as it was a broken sword and it had only a small legend only renown in her village.

Mylor followed after the man without another word. Her instincts told her to not follow but curiosity was a strong motivator in humans. It was far too easy to give into the temptation of solving a mystery and one that could make her very rich. Mylor would be able to claim her father's name once again and wield it proudly.

"Very well, mage," Mylor said, following close but none too close.

"Do what you must but I warn you, my eye will not leave you for one second,"Mylor said while still remaining naught but an arm's reach from him. "And you are correct to not trust me as I do not trust you either. Never trust a mage," she stated as a light scowl rested on her face and her fingers hovered near the daggers hilt on her hip.

"Then it fits you perfectly," Mylor said dryly. There was nothing better than a mage that could not concentrate on their magic. She was quite pleased that he had found this one and not one which was compatible with mages. "Where are the others. We must find them if we are to become rich. I care nothing of the swords, just the reward," the woman said while her more-than-keen eyes fixed onto the sheath of the blade.

"If we are become partners in this quest, I am professional enough to set aside my prejudice for you kind, mage," Mylor said while stepping back and gesturing toward the direction they had come from in a wide sweep. Her demeanor seemed to relax though there was an odd gleam in her eye that spoke secrets; she was still not to be trusted wholly. She appeared an archer or a ranger at best, but as their first meeting told, Mylor was thief at heart.

"You may keep the swords, but I will take from the treasure what I please. That is the terms or I will kill you where you stand and leave the legendary swords to rust," Mylor said with promise in her tone.

"I am no fool, mage. Continue," Mylor said while she moved near his shoulder and looked at the pages of the book. Her eyes went back and forth between the words. Her brow furrowed very deeply as she attempted to understand even one single word.

And while Alrion spoke, more and more did she become interested in the sword he was describing. It would be very prospective to be able to disappear or to be able to distract foes. She had seen assassins and their abilities but held no match to them. Perhaps this would give her an edge in combat against them as well as other possibilities.

"You continue on describing them but I care nothing of what they are, mage. All I care for is that we collect the seven of them and find this vault they open," Mylor explained while tossing him an impatient look. She never did like scholars let alone mages that were scholars. They had the tendency to speak too much and go into irrelevant details.

"Which one are we to track down first," Mylor asked while studying the picture depictions of the blades. It was all she could understand.

"You mistake me for some power hungry mongrel that wishes to dominiate the realms. I am a simple traveler and will remain so for the rest of my life. You know nothing of me so do not assume what I want or do not want, Alrion," Mylor retorted with a sneer and a sharp tongue. It was difficult for her to resist the urge to reach for her dagger. And how he mentioned that these swords could help her defeat any mage was becoming a very tempting factor. Mylor would be able to strike him down at the last second after the swords were collected and the vault opened. And then all the riches would be hers, and hers alone. A master plan was forming in her mind and it was going to work for there were only the two of them.

Mylor saw the distrust in Alrion's eye and knew that it would ultimately ruin her plan. Her conniving mind began to turn the gears within and a plan which was simple at first began to thicken and complicate. A pleasant smile spread across her fair face, the first signs of a soft nature. "Very well, Alrion," Mylor said while holding her hand out to him for the man to take.

"Shall we shake on the agreement that you may keep the swords and I will take what I wish from the vault," she asked, waiting for him to shake her hand and finalize the deal in spoken bond. Hidden treachery laid behind her eyes and little did Alrion know that her word was never binding.

"Let us become friends now and partners in this quest."

"Good, good."

Very good, she thought to herself. A wicked internal grin spread across her metaphorical self and she could not have made this day any better than it had turned out to be. "Then let us be off soon. Will you have to take these books with you or is your memory adept at retaining the images and information," Mylor said gesturing toward them all. "I am eager to be off but, naturally, dues must be paid. And while they are being paid, let us get to know each other on a personal level and share out histories," Mylor said before releasing Alrion's hand with that same smile laced on her serpent lips.

"I had no intentions of such acts between us, mage," Mylor said while staring ice at his back. The last thing that she wanted was to bed with someone of his nature. The very thought was disgusting. No, Mylor had other plans for him and needed Alrion to believe they were truly good friends. Giving the room one last good glance after the mage had left, she removed a small vile from the folds of her clothing and held it up to the dim light of torches.

"Soon you will be used again," Mylor said before tucking it back into a hidden pocket and followed after Alrion.

“Does it matter what I am after or what my motivations are,” Mylor asked with a perked brow as she looked at him. “Why should it matter if I am just here for greed or for other purposes,” she added before turning her eyes to the tree line as they walked along the Forest Border.

“What is your motivation here? Is it really just to obtain a sword of power? Why not just claim them all instead of offering the knowledge of the legend to other people,” Mylor asked while returning her hard gaze on him.

“Insult me again and I will cut you where you stand, mage,” Mylor said dryly,” I don’t appreciate being called a cow and the next time that you call my any foul word it will be the last word that ever leaves your tongue.”

“As for personality, there is a reason that I do not like mages nor trust them. Believe it or not, I can be a lovely person to be around when I choose to be. But, as it stands, I find myself in the company of a mage so I’m not sure how I want to present myself to you just yet,” Mylor said while her keen eyes continued to watch their surroundings as well as glance at Alrion from time to time.

“My parents were slaughter,” Mylor said while her brow drew together harshly, “The mages also killed the rest of my village. Does that answer your question as to why I am prejudice against mages? They spared no person; not man, woman, nor child.”

“How do you think you would feel if one morning you woke up and everything you loved was gone,” Mylor asked Alrion in a rhetorical question. Surely such a pampered scholar had no idea of what she had seen and lived through.

Mylor grabbed her bow and reached behind her back for an arrow from her quiver.

“Do not ask me about my past ever again, mage.”

Mylor stopped suddenly and glared at Alrion while clenching her jaw tightly. She had to remember to stay calm and not attack him. First off, Alrion was a mage and she would die in an attempt to kill him whether successful or not. And the second was that she had plans for the man and Mylor needed him alive until the trap was sprung.

“You’re not helping your cause, mage, if you are trying to ‘befriend’ me. If anything I am going to hate you more if you keep asking annoying questions,” Mylor warned him while approaching the entrance of the hidden temple without fear. The woman had her bow, keen eyes, and range on her side.

Mylor was about to enter into the temple but stopped dead and turned to Alrion after hearing what he said. Fury was written all over the woman’s face and she went to him with a quickness in each step. Mylor got so close to him that Alrion may have felt her breath on his face while she spoke.

“You have no idea what happened or when it happened. Keep you mouth shut, mage, or I will rip it out with my bare hands,” Mylor warned with poison metaphorically dripping from her tongue. Scrutinizing eyes looked the man up and down while a disgusted expression sat on Mylor’s face. Who did this man think he was, she thought to herself.

And without another word, Mylor took the lead in entering the temple.

“What, do you think you can change the way that I view mages and make everything just peachy between us,” Mylor asked while looking at the hand on her shoulder. Her fingers itched to reach for one of her daggers and to slice his hand right from the wrist. No one ever touched her without consent; consent that Mylor never gave to anyone.

“Are you on some crusade or are you some martyr that is out to make everyone love each other in equality? Save it and trust the relationship between us now. One out of business and hatred, not love or friendship. Lovers and friends lie. I have no reason to lie to you in the state.”

“Are we going to go get the blade or not?”
