Though it may be difficult for mortals to discern one Blue Dragon from another, Nedelethakor is noticeably well-kempt and groomed. Her scales are always oiled and shiny, her breath is never foul, and her horn and talons are sharp and polished with opalescent lacquer. Her hide is of a slightly more lapis coloration, giving her a dark, exotic appearance. She is not yet of the age where her slit pupils have begun to fade, and so her dominating gaze can send the unwary into immediate, panicked flight. In addition, she constantly wears scores of bangles, piercings, amulets and other baubles that jingle and clink when she moves. Draped over her greater form is, of course, the Mantle of the Suzerain; a great blue cloak studded with thousands of star saphhires, which has a winged scarab brooch wrought from pure adamant. The smell of the air about her is of ozone and fierce spices.
HISTORY
Nedelethakor started her long life as part of a royal clutch of eggs, sired by Tyretlethen himself, and was the third clutch borne by her mother, the Lady Justrexamanocolethian. As part of her rite of passage as a wyrmling, she slew and devoured her mutated, inbred nestlings, so that only she, two sisters and four brothers of acceptable bearing remained. Once old enough, they scattered to the four winds of the Sapphire Desert and began to raise themselves up. Nedelethakor fled to the northern steppes and mesas, where she was quickly adopted among a clan of harpies high on the red stone bluffs. As she grew in size and power, the harpies came to love her as a queen, and she still keeps an entourage of the avian women wherever she goes. Eventually, when she came of age, she was borne back to the Azure Citadel to serve as Tyretlethen's concubine and produce a brood for him. It was a traumatic experience, that left the young dragon shattered and feeling very small indeed. A deep grudge and hatred of her father, king, and occasional mate grew within her, until one day she saw an opportunity. Possessed of some cosmic madness, Tyretlethen sent almost all of the Empire's forces abroad to perform crusade against the Kingdom of Skyfall.
Nedelethakor's retinue of troops were more loyal to her than the Suzerain, and so she forbade them from going, commanding them to march with her to the Azure Citadel instead. There, at great cost to herself, she slew Tyretlethen with the help of a powerful desert wizard, and adopted the Mantle of the Suzerain for herself.
