Description

Image

Ralen is an ambitious man, who seeks to rule all of reality. To achieve this goal he has set out to gather power, servants, and allies, and he will stop at nothing to reach power. He is courageous and Charismatic, and highly intelligent, and uses whatever means is required to manipulate those around him to his own goals.

Being a master of magic in various forms and fashions, as well as highly intelligent, Ralen is the sort who dedicates himself to study, understanding that knowledge truely is power, and he seeks it religiously. He trains his body and his mind, and makes use of a style of sword play suited best to the combat of multiple enemies at once, as in a battlefield. Unlike other leaders, he has no qualms about leading an army at the front line, though he always makes sure that he has a way out. After all, he can't die before he rules all of reality.

His primary weapon is his ancestors blade "War". Forged eons ago by his ancient ancestors and imbued with magical powers no longer either understood or recreatable, the blade is the embodiment of all that is War. It's most notable ability is that it absorbs any and all assaults and blows directed towards it's wielder. Simply put, whoever holds War in their hand cannot be killed except in melee combat. The weapon redirects the energy it absorbs and it's wielder can use this to devastating effect.

His other weapon, "Peace" Was a blade made not to take life, but to restore it. Those cut by Peace are healed of all wounds, ailments, and conflictions. It is a healers blade, and it's power is older than most civilizations. It's other notable trait is the ability to ensnare all within a certain distance of the weapons wielder, trapping them in a moment of time until that moment is devoid of all conflict and intent to harm. Or in other words, until peace reigns over all.

His last weapon is the Great Sword named balance. This blade is a massive six feet in length, six inches wide at the base
The blade can not be lifted by anyone who does not hold the concepts of War and Peace in Equal measure.
and Balance retains within it a dimensional energy that causes every strike with it to cut through the fabric of reality itself

Ralen Nostari also wears Two gauntlets with large orange gems in the backs of each hand. These are the Dominion Grips. They allow him to drain the life force from living beings to use as he see's fit. In addition, if he is able to place his hand within the gauntlet upon someones brow, then he can bind them to his will, irregardless of how powerful they are. The powers of the Gauntlets allow him to, given time to work, rewrite the memories, personality, even the thoughts of the person he is in contact with, and this power works on all creatures, regardless of their origin, strength, or will.

Remembrance, a golden ring with a blue, teardrop shaped gemstone allows it's wearer to recreate past events, no matter how far back they may go, by channeling energy through the ring.

Nostari Ancestral Imperial Armor, made from Mithril, light as a feather, harder than diamond, and enchanted with numerous magical defenses and protections from years and years of service.

The Dragon's heartstone, the key to the pocket dimension of Aelria, where in the Nostari Family holds absolute dominion. Within Aelria, Ralen's rule is absolute and uncontested.

The Heartstone grants many powers to it's bearer. It is magically grafted to their body, and allows them to summon forces from Aelria to their side. Entire armies can be summoned, given that the bearer has the energy required. Many other powers are held within the heartstone, though the Nostari Family keep them secret from all.

Finally, those slain bearing the Heartstone do not die, instead they are banished to Aelria where they might regain their strength. The Heartstone itself is left behind, and when the bearer is ready to return, the Heartstone is their conduit back to our dimension.

So begins...

A crack resounded from the sky as a ship fell into the atmosphere, several miles off the coast. Smoke and fire trailed behind it as it careened into the water with an impressive splash. Steam rose from the site, as did bubbles, for the ship quickly sank beneath the waves.

Several minutes would pass, and then a water logged body would wash up on the shore, tiredly dragging itself up the beach to dry land. Pushing himself over so as to breath, Ralen Would gasp out, coughing up seawater and bile as he desperately sucked air into his lungs.

Ondona nodded at his statement. "I see, then help yourself to the food. I will relax and..." She started however when she looked at the sky she noticed a ship that was on fire crash into the sea a few miles off. So much for a peaceful day at the beach.

However she was surprised when another man washed up on shore, looks like the pilot survived after all. "Oh my...Looks like that man survived the crash. Royka, please make another dish. I am sorry but it looks like things keep happening." She asked and the butler simply nodded. "No need to apologize mistress Ondona! I am always happy to help!" He quickly stated as he prepared another dish.

Ondona stood up and walked over to the man who was coughing up sea water and breathing much needed air. She quickly checked him over for any injuries, to crash in a ship it would be a miracle if he did not have a single injury.

Yoshiaki kept himself quiet as he went back to sitting after removing the swords from his belt. He took them from their sheaths and removed the wood one from the naginata. He sat quietly rubbing the water off as he looked at the newcomer and the woman run after him. This man could be a threat but he was in no means ready to fight, he couldn't even stand. He simply needed to maintain frame and act casual for now.

Ralen was not, in fact, uninjured, a cursory examination would show he had broken his right arm, dislocated his other shoulder. Blood seeped from a wound in his side, where a piece of shrapnel protuded from his body. His right leg was also broken, the bone poking from beneath his leggings.

Bruises, cuts, and burns covered most of his body, not to mention the pale look of someone nearly drowned. He managed to clear most of the water from his lungs, though the pain from his body made it a hard task. Eventually he started trying to stand up, which was all but impossible. Still, he grit his teeth, muttered a curse, and forced himself to stand on. He then began to limp back up from the edge of the water, although a bit aimlessly.

Not happy with watching the man stand up, she took a hold of him and using a small amount of magic caused the man to lose control of his body, he would feel like a rag doll that could not move. Of course this was for his own good. After the man would go limp she carefully took hold of him and placed him on the ground and looked sternly at him. If looks could kill, the man would have been vaporised.

"You are in no condition to be moving around sir, I am sorry to do this but you need immediate medical attention or you will die...looks like regular medicine won't help you. Please remain still, this will hurt just for a second but I promise to heal you right up." Ondona spoke as she went to work healing the man. First she went over to his dislocated shoulder and relocated the joint, she would then send small light through his arm which fixed the bone and numbed the pain. Next she pulled the piece of shrapnel from his body with perfect precision so it would not damage anything more inside the mans body, she then placed her hand on the wound and just like his shoulder the pain went away and the wound began to heal. For the broken bones and remaining injuries, she simply walked over to the affected areas and healed them.

Once Ondona was done healing the man, she lifted the paralysis spell from him and he could now freely move. She smiled at him before speaking. "I am sorry for doing that to you, however if you were going to move around in that state you would have made it to an early grave. As a token of my apology, would you care to join me for lunch?" She asked.

"So two total strangers are to dine with you? You know neither of our intentions and that man could very likely attack you know that he is fully healed. He could be for all you know, an assassin sent to kill you or myself, possibly the butler. The smart thing to do would to be question us both and find out our true intentions." Yoshiaki raised his voice so the woman could hear him.

He saw her magic heal the man and was thankful he did not need it. There was also the matter of trust that had to be established, the woman seemed a bit too trust worthy and caring of others. This was a flaw in one way to Saito at least seeing as how he was use to being hunted in his land. He did not trust the womans quickness to helping others so quickly let alone not disarming either of them.

The magic tickled, although even that was torture considering how sensitive the nerves were after taking the beating his body had. But Ralen didn't really think about that, considering his body froze up and his face went into the sand. Oh he had some choice words to share with whoever had the balls to be playing games with him, but they all went right out of his head when he was rolled onto his back and looked up at Ondonna. He woulda said something, but he couldn't, being frozen stiff.

One by one, she healed his wounds, the jagged shrapnel was probably the worst, but when it was done, he felt relief like he didn't even know he could have felt. Grattitude as well, but both were quickly overshadowed by suspicion. After he was healed he stood up and looked himself over. His face twisted in a grimace. His clothes were ruined, highest in fashion, sturdy and strong, and most of his equipment had been washed away as well, which was probably the worst, considering they were mostly family heirlooms.

The Man was silent a moment as he turned back to the sea and though to himself. Tired as he was he wasn't going to be able to do anything about it right now, but he set his mind to coming back and finding his belongings out of the wreckage of his ship as soon as he was able. That moment of silence would last long enough to be rude, and when he realized he had been asked a question he turned and faced the young girl.

"Tha-" he started, before going into a fit of coughing. Apparently his throat wasn't ready for speaking in the strong, commanding tones he normally used, so he'd just have to settled for a calmer, more gentle voice. "Thank you, sorceress, both for saving my life and your offer. I know it would be off putting to most to invite someone who had just washed up on the beach, appearing all the world to have escaped a battle, to their own private affairs. I believe I will accept your hospitality, with a reservation. I do not wish to cause your guests any trouble." At least not at the moment. This last statement he added in his own head, not daring to voice it aloud.

He did look to see the man sitting at the table, and immediately recognized him for what he was. "Ahh... I see I'm not the only warrior to wash up on this beach. A common occurance? Tell me, swordsmen, to what lord to you owe allegiance?"

Ondona turned back to Yoshiaki when he mentioned that the two of them could have been assassins. "If that is the case, then its a miracle that someone even though to having you two assassinate a target. Especially when both of them wash on shore, one almost dead and the other with almost no energy left to defend himself let along attempt to kill anyone. I do not need to worry about myself, a real assassin would always attack unseen and never show his face to anyone. Now enough silly topics, the food may grow cold." She called back to Yoshiaki as she skipped over to where they were motioning for the new man to follow.

As she sat down, the Bulter handed back her tea along with a happy helping of cookies with she happily ate with a smile. Of course he also placed her sandwich next to her once she finished with her snacks. It seemed like she was enjoying herself, despite saving a mans life from death and helping another man who washed up to shore. Perhaps she stumbled on a beach where ancient warriors wash on shore. "Oh! Royka! Did you make sure to record my favorite shows? Its ok if you did not, they always show it again a few days afterwards." Ondona asked and the Bulter quickly replied. "Don't worry mistress, I have made sure to record your favorite shows. What type of butler would I be if I forgot one of your favorite past times? That reminds me, I have also taken the liberty to order those special deserts that are available once every new moon. I know how you always loved them, so I decided---" Before he could finish the woman jumped up and hugged him. "You are the best Royka! I could never ask for anyone else to help me out!" She exclaimed.

The Butler seemed to lose his colors as the woman hugged him, not because he had the life hugged from him but because his mistress was hugging him in a bikini. He was so happy and embarrassed at the same time that once she stopped hugging him he simply fell backwards taking a small nap in the sand. "No...problem..."

Once her exitment calmed down she sat back down and took a sip of her tea like nothing happened.

"I currently owe allegiance to no Lord, I am a simple teacher currently." Yoshiaki spoke to the man as he cleaned his weapon.

He sat silently listening now to the woman talk and her words, his body recovering more now with his energy returning.

"A real assassin would simply blend in with the crowd, his attack would be seen but it would be too late to take action. An assassin can take the form of any man, woman or even child, from a beggar to a rich man or even an injured individual. I would hate to see your kindness taken advantage of." Yoshiaki's tone remained neutral throughout.

This woman didn't seem to have a care in the world she also appeared to possess the powers of gods. That explained her relaxed attitude but still it would be folly to not make preparations with foresight in mind, instead of mourning in hindsight at what should of been done. Then again he was a stranger to this world maybe it was not as chaotic as the one had come from, with the constant warring factions and clans fighting for power. He retired from the fighting taking it upon himself to become a teacher so that the younger generations may prepare for fighting that would possibly reach their door step one day. He had found solace in that but never enough that he wasn't pulled back to wanting to fight.

For now he would simply keep an eye on the new man and whatever plan he possibly was conjuring up within him.

A mounted warrior rode down along the beach. Her dark hair blew in the sea breezes, and her dark eyes focused on an odd group of people. Maegan Davenport was patrolling her liege lord's lands and had noticed something falling from the sky.

It was not the first occurrence of strange pieces of armor and metal falling from the skies for Maegan. There had been those that had come before. Each mysterious and mystifying traveler had explained where they had come from and it fascinated Maegan.

There were worlds beyond Gaia and Siv'en, but unreachable and unattainable. Those who had come mentioned how it was nigh impossible to return to where they had come from. A force was keeping their ... machines of metal and armor from working again after arriving to Gaia. Most had mentioned that their coming upon the world was a mistake, or an accident.

This appeared to be the case as well, as far as Maegan could discern.

The white stallion rode at a steady pace toward the group. The rider was clad in simple garb. Maegan wore a boiled leather jerkin over a tunic dyed blue. The dye alone marked her as a noble or a minor noble. Such luxuries were not afforded to the peasant caste. Her sword marked her as a high standing citizen as well.

It was finely made. The cross guard was gilded in gold and wrapped in beautifully tanned leather. The blade was long and thin. If inspected closer, the inspector would find that it closely resembled the ronin's in its own way.

"State your purpose travelers," Maegan demanded as she and her mount arrived a few paces from the others. Her stare was curious but cautious. Her right hand rested on the pommel of her sword.

In the far distance, the Empyrean Sea was beginning to churn and turn turbulent. A massive storm was brewing and growing quickly. The sun had already begun to darken; a shade covering the lands.

Ralen smirked at the ronin and said "A teacher is it, proclaiming to save lives by seeing that they know how to fend for themselves? But such a pursuit is without yield. You may prepare a boy with a sword, you may teach them to wield it, and may even grant them a glimpse of what war is. But you can never prepare someone for the taking of a life. You can never prepare them for the feeling of having ended a persons journey, and without that they shall always be forced to make a decision. Whether to let darkness claim them, or to rise above their own mortality."

Ralen looked up at the mounted woman and smiled. It was a smile both handsome and terrible, for within it was belied a knowledge of the man who wore it. "Purpose is a falsehood given to those sheep who need caring for, I am a lion who would choose his own destiny."

As Ondona listen to the two men talk, she soon heard the sounds of hooves approaching them. When she turned to look, she noticed a woman armed with a sword and she asked why they were here. "I was here enjoying the beach and relaxing in the sun, however it now seems that the day at the beach will have to end...as for the two men, they simply washed ashore. All I did was tend to their injuries and offer them food." Ondona spoke, visibly unhappy at the change of weather.

Once she finished with her tea, Ondona walked over to a bag and pulled out a long pink dress and put it on. The sun was no longer shining and it was getting a little bit cold. Once she was done getting dressed, she simply began shaking Royka to wake him up.

"My purpose is not known to myself right now. I was brought here by whatever forces of destiny and the spirits that guide it. So I can not give a clear answer as to why I washed up on this beach." Saito said looking at the woman before turning to look at the other man. He stood sheathing his weapons once more, minus the polearm that was simply tucked away into the bag.

"I prepare my students with the tools they will need to make that decision to take a life. This is no different from the physical weapons they are trained in. The sword is an extension of oneself the wielder chooses to give life or take it with the blade. The defining elements of Battojutsu speak of this. The Nukitsuke, Kirioroshi, Chiburi, and Noto. Nukitsuke or drawing of the sword is to give ones opponent time to rethink their actions and ill intentions hence the life giving. The Kirioroshi is meant to take the life of one suffering a mortal wound that would cause them suffering, this reminds s that ethical and morally just actions should be an aid to ending the suffering of others. Next comes Chiburi, the cleaning of the blade before sheathing, this reflects the cleansing of the soul for our swords are our soul. This leaves the soul clean of the negative aspects of violence for the sake of violence. The final step that is taken by us is Noto, sheathing of the sword, this is taught to us in the contemplation that evil may still exist in the minds of others around us. We must always be diligent and vigilant in our duties because of this." Saito stopped himself looking in the direction of Ralen. He gave this lesson untold times before the students even picked up the sword, it was one of the first lessons to be learned and remembered.

"You call yourself a lion but you bind yourself by no code which will lead to ill intentions eventually entering you. If you wish to become a leader I suggest a greater introspective look at yourself." Saito finished looking away from Ralen and back to the woman. The man hovered on his vision though.

Maegan listened to each person reasons in turn. A lion looking to find destiny, a woman swimming and basking in the sun, and a warrior teacher spreading his lessons. It was an odd gathering, Maegan thought to herself. There was no rhyme nor reason why any such should be gathered together.

"Very well," said Maegan. "There is an inn a league ashore. It is called The Leaky Wench. They will have mead and bread, perchance some meat. Leave whatever payment that you can. Your other world money is not accepted here."

Maegan explained as best she could the laws of Skyfall. Kill no man. Take nothing that is not yours. Disturb not the peace. Speak no ill against the King. Find good work and be a contributing denizen until a way to their home is found. She was clear that they were not wanted but neither would they cast out those who were thrust into this place like so many others.

"If you are in need of me or my council, send word to Warhorn Keep to the west," Maegan said. Her hand pointed to a hill in the far distance. Sitting atop of it was a large wall with turret towers.

"I'd make for the inn if I were you. The storms move quickly here and can be very deadly," said Maegan. Another peal of thunder rolled across the sea and the beach. A gray wash settled onto the horizon as rain poured down into the ocean, mingling salt and fresh waters.

Ralen's smirk fell from his face at the ronins words. He did not return a response, though to the mounted woman he said. "Storms of wind and thunder do not bother me. And besides, I have no money to pay for a room, from this world or otherwise. I would not sleep soundly, in any case, without the treasures of my house"

At this he turns away from them all, and turns back to the sea, searching it with his eyes, futile a task that may be.

Although the threat the storm posed to Ondona was clothing ruining at best. She knew it would draw even more suspicion on her, however she did not have any currency on her, or currency that was worth a single nights stay at an inn. Of course, they relized he had magic so she decided to use it to disguise her real identity. "Thank you for the warning miss, however a storm of that size does not affect me. I will respect the laws of you land but for now I shall camp out here. Royka dear, please assemble the tent." She spoke and Royka unpacked what appeared to be a very simple camping tent, adorned with the artwork of hunters slaying massive beasts.

The tent appeared to only fit two people but as Ondona went inside she signalled the others to join her. "There is plenty of room inside the tent, so if you do not have the necessary currency to rest at the inn you are free to join me until the storm calms down. Also don't worry, this tent can survive the storm and much worse." She smiled as she vanished back into the tent.

"Do I take my chances in a strange camping tent with a strange woman on a beach or do I take my chances at the inn?" Saito mused to himself for a moment.

It did not look like he was returning home anytime soon after all. Then again the laws of this land did not differ too much from that of his along with the same attitude towards foreigners. He wasn't too worried of a fight then again those that live here may possess magic after all which to Saito is the stuff of fairy tales.

"I'll stay for the time being till I figure out my own path." Saito said at last after some contemplation.

As Ralen entered the tent, he would find that the inside was much larger than the outside. The inside was furnished with a nice flat screen TV, a comfy looking couch made of cotton, fancy red carpet lay on the floor along with a pair of fancy beds, the roof was a couple stories high and there were many different appliances making this tent look like a mansion instead of a tent. "Please make yourself at home. I hope you enjoy your stay." Ondona spoke as she took off her shoes and sat on the couch before turning on the TV and began to watch some sort of cartoon.

Yoshiaki entered the tent as well. He looked about the room seeing strange things he had never seen before, not in his life time or in that of other lands. He did his best to not react as he took out his weapons once more and began apply the oil to them.

"Thank you. I will be out of your hair once I find what it is I need to do. Fate has brought me here after all." Saito was sitting on the floor with his weapons refusing to sit on the furniture.

Ralen paused and looked at the Ronin. "Fate? No chains exist worse than those crafted by belief in fate. Destiny is what you make of yourself, and thinking otherwise is to bind yourself without reason." He would scoff, before turning back to Ondona. "I don't suppose you, milady, have a way of searching the seabed. The crash robbed me of some of my families most precious possessions, and I would see them returned to me."

Ralen walked and placed himself fully in the tent, his eyes flashing with a light before he said "You need not hide yourself from me, for I knew what you were the moment you touched me in the sands. I could sense your power even then, and so I ask if it is within your power to see what is mine returned to me, and if so, what I may do to earn such a favor."

The crashing darkness in the distance vibrated through the earth, though few may have felt it. Ralen was one of those few, and he grew a degree more skittish. In his mind he could see those who had forced his ship to make the landing, such as it was, upon this world. That they would follow him to make sure he perished was not beyond the scope of possibility, but if that was the case, retrieving his artifacts was all the more important.

"My favor? Well it was not like I was trying very hard to hide what I am from you all...It sometimes gets weird when you tell people around you that they are a deity. Well its not like I can give you much power at all, I mean I can heighten your senses and make you a great hunter for a short period of time. However I only give my power to those hunting creatures of massive size, or wish for a little luck in their hunt for food. I am not sure why you would like my favor. As for your belongings, Royka here can easily retrieve everything in that ship even through this violent storm. If he wishes do so that is." Ondona spoke, even though she was glued to the television. And laughing many times.

Royka simply nodded and with a snap of his fingers was now dressed in a diving suit before leaving the tent and jumped into the sea. "As for you Yoshiaki, I do not mind your company. Its actually comforting having guests to talk to. I am not one to believe in fate, but sometimes I belive something awaits everyone here. Like me and my cartoons here." After saying this she laughed again.

"This is decided by fate. Our fate if formed from our karma, our own efforts and discipline. The tendencies of our soul and our environment. This creates the fate we see before us. Your karma just like mine is blackened by our past and had us wash up here alive. But through what levels of discipline are you willing to go to purify that karma? You seem like a man clouded with a deep ambition for power. That way will lead you to your death. The power you seek will corrupt and ultimately lead to your end." Saito continued oiling and polishing the weapons having them completely disassembled.

"I am here until I find out where I belong miss. I do think our paths will split eventually. I have no place with the gods currently or serving them. My loyalty still belongs to men." Saito said to the goddess.

Ralen looked at the ronin with incredulousity. "My ancestors but your a deluded one aren't you? I am here because My ship was shot down, because the cowards who seek to claim my power have not the stomach to earn it. My strength, like that of my father, my fathers fathers, and even their fathers before them, comes from our own dedication, our own strength of will to go on in the face of any enemy. We have ever been conquerers, and though many have sought to destroy us, all have failed in the end."

He rolled his eyes and looked back to Ondona's servant as he departed, calling out to him "In the wreckage of the ship you'll find a chest with ornate designs, that above all else is what matters to me, sir!"

After the manservants departure, Ralen turned back to the Ronin, seating himself a short distance away. "This talk of Karma and fate is ridiculous, you may as well be a child looking for an excuse for why you are miserable."
