Into the bar stepped Salem, he was in a baggy v-neck black and purple shirt, long hooded sweatshirt and some classic skinny-jeans and converse. He seemed pretty tired and his hair was slightly frizzy, mostlikely meaning that he had just gotten off of his night job. "Bloody American pigs and their rude remarks and trying to grab at anything that comes within and arm's reach" The beautiful young man would mutter as he proceeded further into the bar and took a seat at the counter. "Fucking hate this god-forsaken city.... I should have never left London." He sighed and ordered himself a martini. He then began to look around the bar at all of the patrons and pluck a cigarette from his hoodie pocket along with a chip n' dales lighter. "The usual crowd i see.." He muttered under his breath as he lit the cig and took a couple of puffs from it, then replaced the lighter into his pocket.
Salem sighed as his martini arrived and took a drag from his cigarette. "What i wouldn't do for a nice English bloke to have a nice conversation with." he sighed and scratched his left eyebrow with the pinky on the hand that held the cigarette.
Were salem's ears decieving him or did he hear some one else with a British accent? "Hmmm.... I have an idea..." he said with a sly smile. Of course... his idea, was to sing lyrics from Sweeney Todd... his favorite musical... Besides rent, but rent is a tidbit overplayed! Sweeney Todd had a much better soundtrack in his opinion.
"I have sailed the world,

He sang aloud, his voice sounded as if it were made of milk and honey. Once he was done singing... He awaited a response. This was one of the many games that Salem loved to play.

"Been a few years since i've seen it, my memory isn't the best." he chuckled and held out his hand to Illuminous. "I am Salem." he said kindly. "You from England? The blue haired young man took another drag from his cig and blew the smoke off to the side then take a sip of his martini. "What brings a bloke like you to a place like this?" he asked and leaned over toward Illuminous ever so slightly.
Salem hardly noticed the tempurature in Illuminous's hand. "My mum n pop moved here when i was young. THough I wish they hadn't... This city's gone to shit. Born in Cheshire, but raised for about five years in London. Now I'm here." he chuckled and released Illuminus' hand. "What about you?"
"Interesting is a light way of putting it." Salem chuckled. "Then again, you don't live where I live or work where I work, so... Yeah." He chuckled and finished off his drink along with his cig. "People here can be so rude it's not even funny. You could be bleeding and nearly dead on the side walk and no one would give you a second glance. Seems like the only thing people notice in this town is power."
"It makes you Ill or it makes you hungry?" Salem inquired raising a brow. Salem wasn't stupid, he cound smell a vampire from a mile away... though not literally. But anyone that says 'blood makes me ill' is either a serious hemaphobe or a vampire in his book... "Be glad you haven't gotten in a fight yet.... Usually fights here end up with an entire section of the city being destroyed... Which i find is rediculous. Maybe I'm exaggerating? Meh... Oh well." He shrugged.
"Riiight." He said with a chuckle. "As for the places they work... No Idea. I have to work two jobs myself, technically three but that's more volunteer work than anything, just so i can get the scratch to pay the bills and have some for shopping and all that fun stuff." he said with a sigh. "Atleast I'm not out on the streets." He said with a confident nod.
"I can't afford college just yet... I and a Make up and tattoo artist for my first job... Second... well I'd rather keep that to my self for now." He chuckled rather nervously and ran his finger over the jewels under his left eye. "oh! Since you're a designer.... I was wondering if you could make this costume I've been dying to try and get made? I mean I'll compensate you ofcourse.. I just really want this costume made, hopefully before next halloween." He said trying to perk up just a bit.
"Oh Great! Thank you! Well... I'm not quite sure how to describe it... I'll have to get my designs from my apartment... Wanna come with?" He asked and began to stand up from his barstool, though not before placing money onto the counter to pay for his drink.
The setting changes from gambits-bar to Main Street
Salem exited the cab and handed the cash to the driver. "Thanks Aziz." He said and walked up to the apartment building and pushed open the door. "After you, sir." He chuckled and bowed his head slighly as he waited for Illuminous to head into the building.
Salem ascended the steps to the third floor and the apartment labeled I. He got out his keys and unlocked the door, however as soon as he opened the door he saw somethings that were out that shouldn't have and he immedieately closed it. "I have to go take care of a few things right quick... Please excuse me." he chuckled nervously and quickly opened the door slid inside and closed it. He then went to go put his unmentionables in his bedroom in his dresser drawer, along with his stripper costumes and among other outfits. Once everything was hidden he re-opened the door and let illuminous come in. "Sorry about that... I had some... private things that I had to put away." he chuckled.
"Now... Where's my design book?" he said and put a finger to his lips and began to look around. "Oh! Where are my manners! Please, come in, have a seat!You want a drink or something?" He aske Illuminous, almost forgetting that a Vampire couldn't enter a private domain without being invited first... As mentioned Earlier... Salem wasn't Stupid. He knew a vampire when he saw one. As he scrambled about the apartment he came across his book. "oh... here it is..." he said and walked over to the couch and sat down and opened the book up to the costume design he had. "I want it to look something like this." He said pointing to it. "Except instead of the wings actually being wings... maybe it's a cloak or a cape or something? I already have the horns and I'm not going to go as far as to wearing a wig... I think my hair would go nicely with it. What do you think?"
"See, Why does everyone insist on I wear gold?! that's exactly what I keep telling them! Fucking people I work with are so gauti. It makes me sick..." he said with a chuckle. "Anyways... How about that drink? Maybe a snack?" He asked him.
"Um... I don't have red wine... Well why don't you come in to the kitchen and see.. I'm not sure what you like..." he said with a slight chuckle as he walked into the kitchen and opened the refridgerator. On the door in a little sleeve of the fridge there would have been packets of blood or plasma that he usually kept over for his vampire friends. "I mean I have pomegranate juice... I don't really keep any alchohol in here. As for snacks... I have cheezits... How's that sound?" he said with a smile.
"What? Oh those? They're for my Vampire friends for whenever they come over. Why do you ask?" He said and looked at Illuminous slighly confused. "I should probably keep them somewhere else other than the refridgerator... but then the blood will go bad if i keep them anywhere but. "You want one?" he said rather jokingly and opened one of the cabinets and got out the cheezits and a bowl.
"Hmm... yes... can you try one of these cheezits to see if they're still fresh? I can't tell." of course... The flavor that he had was garlic and parmesian though he wouldn't let Illuminous see the box. "I have terrible tastebuds when it comes to chips... I can never tell if they're stale or not." he said with a feigned sigh as he handed Illuminous a cracker.
"Ah-HA! I knew it!!" he said and pointed at Illuminous with a light giggle. "I gotcha!" The blue haired young man said and walked over to Illuminous and put a hand on his back. "now, are you okay? I am SO sorry for that... Only way I could be sure." He chuckled lightly and gently rubbed where he had placed his hand.
"Well... Not all this time... But call it a hobby of mine." he said and smiled at Illuminous. "I am so sorry... But I knew that as soon as you tasted the garlic on your tongue that you would spit it out... If you didn't i know Heimlich maneuver. Terribly sorry... I suppose I owe you one then?" he said tilting his head and smiling. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. I got secrets of my own." he said with a chuckle.
"Again.... Sorry... I kinda have a thing for creatures of the night..." he chuckled and looked at Illuminous. "Would my make you dinner and watch a movie make it up to you? Or.... would you rather just leave?" He asked and hoped that it wasn't the latter.
"Fuck Twilight. Vampires don't sparkle. ANd werewolves can't change at will. I was thinking of something more along the lines of Alien.... maybe Space Jockey or something like that.... I have an entire library of movies. Name it and I probably have it."
"Which one? The Original or one of the many sequels." he chuckled and leaned on the counter. "Also... what would you like to eat? Packets in the fridge? or want me to whip something up... Or do you want something fresh?" He asked Illuminous. "I mean I can do with any of them. I'm not picky." he smiled.
"If you need to feed you need to feed. Don't fight it... Atleast, that's what my old friend Lestat told me. But to each his own." he said and made Illuminous and himself some juice and got them each a pack of crackers. "Okidoke! Here you go!" he said and handed him the crackers and juice, then popped the movie into the dvd player and sat back down on the couch. "You need a place to stay, you can have the guest room... No windows in there. I have alot of vampire friends... i'm always prepared for when one of them comes over." He said and the movie had started.
