a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Barboros, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name: Senzei
Age: 24
Race: Human
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 168 lbs
Eyes: Seafoam Green
Hair: Medium/Auburn

Personality

After a long and rough journey, Senzei's changed a little. A lot of his time was spent away from people, so his social aspects aren't one of a social butterfly, but of a hawk. Always careful, always watching, and acting on survival, instinct, and moral codes.

Equipment

His clothes... Let's start with upper body. He wears a casual, soft hooded blue robe, with white stars and the Holy symbols of his trade. Underneath is a white tunic, and a grey long sleeved undershirt. On his lower body, he wears black cotton pants, casual fitted, along with soft, leather soled boots.

Scepter: This is his weapon. Fear it. It can amplify his Holy attacks into a beam, or if stabbed into the ground, can create a devastating shockwave.

Tome of the Clerics: In the House of Clerics, there is a Tome, for each person in time who will eventually become a Cleric. Nobody knows how the Tomes came to be, but they show up, each with a name on it. Every book is different, in terms of what's written. One person cannot read another's book. Most people can't reach even the halfway point of the book before they die of old age, due to the complexity of some of the riddles posed throughout the book(s)

Sitting at the front of the ruins was a man, dark of cloth and hair. He sat cross-legged, with his eyes closed, a book opened up on his lap. He seemed to be meditating. The wind picked up every so often, causing both his hair, and his robes to flutter around him, the pages of the book staying as they were, not even flitting in the breeze. While he was like this, you could see that the book would glow slightly, a faint golden glow.

Senzei opened his eyes slightly, and peered to the left, then to the right. His brow furrowed, trying to figure out would could have been the cause of the noise, but upon seeing nothing, he closed his eyes once more, and resumed his meditating, the book itself flipping through pages every so often.

Senzei opened his eyes, to see a small figure that had just landed in his lap. Intriguing. He also noticed that she was bleeding. Her head hit the ground... That would not do. Lightly, and gently, he picked her up, placed two fingers near the wound, and spoke softly, but quietly so only he could hear, three words. his fingers glowed, and the wound itself closed. Slowly turning the small figure around, he saw that it was a she. A small girl. He tilted his head and smiled, eyes closed. "Are you alright? That was quite a fall you had there, wasn't it?" His voice was light, and soft.

Senzei continued to smile and brushed the tears away from her eyes with his thumb. He picked her up and put stood her on the ground, grabbed his book, and stashed it somewhere in his robes. His copper eyes landed back on the small figure, and he held out his hand, maybe for a handshake? "My name is Senzei. May I ask you yours? And quite possibly, ask you what you're doing around these parts?"

Gazing at the picture, he closed his eyes, and shook his head. "I'm sorry, I haven't seen anyone who looks like that. I'm sorry." Standing up, he looked down at her, and smiled again. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be able to find him, quite soon. But as I haven't seen him, is there anything else I can possibly do for you?" His black hair waved slightly in the wind, and his smile grew a little bigger as he closed his eyes.

Senzei knelt down, and placed a hand on top of her head, and ruffled her hair, though making sure not to mess it up. "No need to be sad, not at all. I'm sure we can find your brother. If not today, then tomorrow, and if not tomorrow, then maybe sometime after. But I'm sure that he'll be found someday." He held out his hand, offering her to hold it.

Senzei laughed lightly, and then lifter her up, putting her on one of his shoulders. "He's your brother. I'm sure that if he is to be found, you'll be the one to find him, Mimi. "Reaching into his robe, he pulled out a small treat, something he had been saving for a while, and held it up to her. It was a small chocolate chip cookie. "Here, eat up, little one."

Senzei turned a few directions, but stayed in teh same spot, looking around, unsure of where to go. "Were you headed anyplace specific? Or..." he stood still, totally unsure as of where to go right now. He used his finger and poked the tummy of the resting Mimi on his shoulder. "Where do we go? Were you headed anywhere specific?"

Senzei furrowed his brow in thought, bringing his hand up to his chin. "So... she has nowhere to live? I guess I don't either, as of right now." He turned his head to face her. "Do you know of any towns nearby? I might be able to afford someplace small and quaint. Upon coming here, I came into a small fortune." He reached back into his robe and pulled out a rather large coin purse, bulging outwardly.

"Hmm..." He thought to himself for a moment, and then spoke up. "I suppose we could give it a shot. I don't know where anywhere in this place is. As far as I know. I'm lost." He looked straight forward, and let out a sigh. "Do you... Happen to know where we are?"

With the help of his new little companion, Senzei navigated the streets, and found himself in front of Gambit's Bar. His hair waved in the wind, and his copper colored eyes scanned the place as he slowly opened the door. Stepping in he saw a couple people, and a creature of some sort. But nonetheless, he took Mimi off of his shoulder, and walked over to the counter, and would arrange a room to stay in. In the meantime, he left Mimi to go off and do whatever she wished, whether it be to follow him, or go around and have some of her own fun.

Senzei shook his head at Mimi, and took the keys that were given to him for the room that he had just paid for. "No thank you, I'm not at all hungry, but I do thank you for the offer." He handed her one of the room keys, and smiled lightly. "Well, looks like we both got a place to stay, for the time being that is." He also handed her some money to pay for the food she had ordered, and then walked up the stairs towards the room.

Senzei Came down the stares, red robes rustling around his feet, boots clunking on the ground. His hood was pulled up, as per usual, and he was rubbing the sleepiness from his eyes. "So much for a good night's sleep," he thought to himself, eyes droopy. Book of Arcana in his hand, he made his way to a booth, and sat there, book open on the table, and began reading, yet again.

Senzei glanced to the side, and behind a little as the man walked by him. It wasn't often he could feel magical signatures, anywhere. Sure, nature itself let off it's own magical energy, but then again, so did everything that was living. He turned back to his book, flipping through text and images, but his eyes kept on turning to the side, looking for signs of the other one that had entered the bar. He put the knuckle under his eyes, trying to completely rub the tiredness out. His body beckoned sleep, but he needed to stay awake, needed to learn.

Senzei studied the page he was on carefully, putting his face down to the book, committing it all to memory. He sighed, and raised two of his fingers in front of his face, and recited the words he had just read, focusing all his concentration into this one act. With few words spoken, his fingers started glowing. At the last syllable, he touched his finger to the book, and a wave of light golden light slowly spread out into the bar, and dissipated into nothingness. The spell has been cast successfully. Finally, another one down.

Down he came from the stairs, rubbing his eyes of the sleepiness due to last night's lack of sleep. The only reason was the damned dreams, nightmares from the past. "God damn dreams," he muttered, making his way over to an empty booth. His hood was pulled up over his head, keeping him warm. At the booth, he sat promptly, and opened his book to one of the many marked pages, setting his lance-cane on the table, and sighed softly at the thought reading. Again. The pages were riddled with drawings, and symbols, and characters that usually confused any others who wanted to snoop at the books' contents.

Senzei looked up at the girl that had approached him, sleep clearly in his eyes, and then back to his book. "Dreams. Yes. They are fascinating things, aren't they?" He motioned for her to sit, moving his book, and his lance-cane to the side of the table, allowing her to put her stuff down. "Unless they're nightmares. Those blasted things keeping people up at all hours of the night." He shook his head. "I would much rather forget the dreams, then be reminded of each one by drawing them, I must say."

He just shook his head, pulling back his hood, revealing his soft, lightly colored brown hair, and brightly colored, seafoam colored eyes. Looking up, he saw her array of tattoos over the woman's body, and again, rubbed his eyes, trying to make himself look a little more presentable by getting rid of the sleepiness. "I do live upstairs, in one of those... Many rooms." He gave a light sigh, and turned to look at the stairs, then back to the woman. "I was brought here by a little one I met in the woods. I was lost, and she showed me to here. Lucky for me I have enough gold to stay for a few years, until I can happen upon some more. People here are amazed with gold, almost like it's... The rarest thing on the planet. Anyways, I apologize for my rudeness. My name is Senzei. And who do I have the pleasure of entertaining this... Morning?" He held his hand to the middle of the table.

"Hm? No. Not long at all, just a few days in fact." As he spoke, he closed his book, to keep peering eyes away from the arcane and holy symbols that riddled the pages. Stretching, he scratched his head an yawned. "It was a little surprise that anyone would notice somebody such as myself in a place like this, as there seems to be a... Very, wide variety of... People, and others, here. But I guess one's normal is another's curiosity, is it not?"

Chewing on his bottom lip, he re-opened the book to one of the many marked pages, figuring that nobody in this place would be able to read any such symbols or writing. He habitually sighed at the pages of the book, and looked back up at the woman. "You seem interested in... Dreams. Any particular reason? Or just something that piques your interest?"

He raised an eyebrow, a small smile overcoming his face. Sure they were sketches, but they weren't bad at all. He pushed his own book aside, and looked over her drawings, each one a little more fascinating than the next. After a few moments, he looked up at Lexi, and took a breath. "Wait, so you're saying that all these, are from your dreams? And each and every one seems... Real? A little odd if you ask me, but... I've seen odder occurrences." He handed her back the drawings, and yawned yet again.

He just nodded, and listened. Being a cleric, he knew he could heal mind and body, and even look into another person's being, or mind, to figure out what was troubling them. But it was too early, too soon to let her know such things. And a warlock? That was a thought that even frightened him. Damned dark sorcerers they were.

Not really saying anything, he looked to the side, trying to hide his eyes. He KNEW he could help, at least a little, and if nothing else, it would be his eyes that would betray his knowledge. Being a cleric, he should be helping people left and right. But this was a new, strange place, and he did not know where he belonged, or even if he should belong.

He let out a deep breath, and smiled at the mention of the book. The damned book. He pulled the book in front of him, and turned it to face the girl. Holy symbols and arcana knowledge riddled the page. He turned a few pages, each one getting a little more complex than the previous. "This book, has become the bane of my existence. Everything one needs to be a cleric, and more, is contained inside these pages." A few of the pages had comments, detailed notes, scribbled between symbols, arrows, things linked together.

"And this is what I was given, the day I decided to become a cleric." He leaned back, letting her have free looking throughout the book. He was so young when he decided to follow the holy path. "Most people who follow the clerical path can't even make out half of the stuff written in their own copy of the book before they're old and withered, and pass away."

He tugged softly on the last bookmark, that was the exact halfway point of the book. "It's here, halfway through, where I hit a sort of... conundrum. Unable to read on. It's like the book changes after that point... New symbols... New meanings. It's just not... Fair..."

His mouth hung open, just slightly. Grabbing the book, he flipped it around to face himself, and looked at the halfway point, and the pages beforehand. He just stared. "Heavens...." From his pocket, he drew out a bottle of ink, and a feather, unlike any other, from any kind of bird. The clerical group had no idea where the feathers came from, they just appeared in their hands, while they slept, the night they received their books.

He dipped the feather into the ink, and looked a few more times at the previous pages, then flipped to his stopping point. "Oh Holy Father..." He started drawing dots, and lines in places around the runic figures, and everything came together. All the symbols on that page were whole now, and everything made perfect sense. He took a few exasperated breaths. Finally... He knew how to continue.

"Y-you... Must be a gift from the Heavens! I don't know how you figured it out, or even how things were missing... But by God. You did it!" Taking a few moments, he held himself, and just breathed. He needed to calm down. "Please. I am a Cleric, follower of Our Divine," setting the feather down, he leaned a little forward. "Please, if there is anything I can ever do for you, just let me know..."

He exhaled deeply. He was able to blow through all the other riddles before this point with ease. All the nights spend dreaming about these runes, trying to solve the mystery they posed. Getting through this point in the book was something he had been trying to do for the last few years. And yet here, a random, teenage girl, he had just met solved something that had been looming over him for years. If only the Father could see him now...

Smiling, he started to laugh a little bit in relief, and then turned again to face Lexi, the smile seemingly plastered to his face. "Now, that you, and yes, I do think you are a gift from Above, helped me solve something I dreaded to face, each and every day, is there anything I can do for you? Food? Drink? Company?" As he was asking, he pulled out a pouch from inside his robe, that was about this size of both his fists but together, bulging at the seams, with solid gold coins.

Standing up, he moved to the other side of the booth, to where Lexi was sitting. "Do you mind if I?..." he didn't really wait for a response, but sat down, and took both her arms, and looked them over. Going over all the knowledge, he had ever known, about anything holy, demonic, arcane, or otherwise. After a few moments, his eyes started to widen, and his jaw went a little slack "Bu... But... No..." He just stared, and continued to look.

He felt ashamed. He knew exactly what he was in the presence of. What had made him worthy enough to be anywhere near such a figure of divine grace? "You are... Wow... This is, this is amazing! And you're honestly saying you don't know what all these are about?" His heart filled with joy, happiness, sadness. He was unworthy, and he knew it. But what compelled the heavens to be so gracious in his fate?
