Following the Misrana Crisis, Admiral Nagala had, rather than taken Austin directly to Terra, decided that he was to be taken to Langara first, so her ship could be refueled and checked over, in addition to repaired by Aschen technicians. Silently, the Divine Shadow waited for Nagala and her men to present Austin Marshal to him.

"Darian should not have surrendered Mr. Marshall before he was delivered to me." He commented as he glanced sidelong to Kianna, before he pulled the pleated hood over his face.

"And now we wait." He said, several flunkies working to put a meal together so they could 'visit'.

"Mr. Marshall has quite a reputation, so I ask you exercise restraint in castrating him for his sexual advances."

The Divine Shadow shot Austin a glare, then he gestured to Kianna. "Heretics must kneel before the Divine Shadow." He said flatly, before he turned to Nagala, his gaze hardening behind the blackness of his hood. "An Officer of the Imperial Military would know better than to blaspheme and show heresies before me." He added, staring daggers at Austin.

The Divine Shadow glared at Austin.

"Your... Divinelyness? I grow tired of your mockery, Austin Marshall." He said flatly, looking back to Kianna.

"My Black Hand, what is the proper way to greet me?"

The Divine Shadow looked to the two kneeling before him. "And you continually remain ignorant on how we do things here. I graciously allowed your world it's independence, the very least you could do is observe our customs, on our home planet, as you consistently demand we do, on yours." The Shadow explained.

"You two may rise." He added, stepping back. "I am aware how close you came to losing your head at the hands of the Taiyou, offending them on similar premise... Emperor Takayama however is not as forgiving as I am." He said, gesturing to the woman beside him.

"This is the Black hand of the Divine Will, my new personal bodyguard, you will do well to remember her, for she will determine whether or not you leave this world dead or alive. Do not offend me again, because, like Emperor Takayama... she is not as forgiving as I am."

The Divine Shadow chuckled lightly. "The first intelligent thing you have said all day, Mr Marshall." He said, lowering himself in his chair. "So, It has come to my attention you want us to take you back to Terra, I see a small problem with that considering you're a war criminal." The Shadow explained, bringing a glass of water to his lips.

"It perturbs me, that we would have the cause to release you, only to ultimately pursue you for doing us harm in the future."

"How she sees out of her hood is not important, just know that she can kill you without a second's hesitation and on my order."

The Divine Shadow nodded slowly. "Preventing Admiral Inviere from garnering the justification to decimate Misrana is certainly a small feat, though honestly a war was not on our Agenda, between you and me I would have gladly crushed the Misranans, but as far as the Aschen public is concerned... you will be touted a hero and given the Colonial Cross for your service, that is the main reason you've been... invited here." He said calmly. "To be awarded for your service in the pursuit of peace and prosperity through the Galaxy." He said.

"Do not tempt my servant, Austin. She does not believe you worthy of her speech." He said, gesturing to him and Nagala.

"Eat." He said, as a servant gave him a plate of food.

He then turned back to Kianna, then back to Austin. "My Servant has no face, she is more machine than man, a direct consequence of your Terran Vindicator marines. She harbors nothing but hatred for you and your people."

The Divine Shadow he then nodded to Kianna. "Please, remove your hood for this Heretic to gaze upon your face."

The Divine Shadow nodded. "A war hero, a parade will be held, and you will receive a medal, all this in the purpose to further relations with your world. Perhaps if one of your people are made a hero by ours, we can begin to move forward."

The Divine Shadow looked to Kianna, and then back to Austin. "A trireme you say? Interesting. I figured it was only a matter of time before someone cracked your inhibitor shields. I dare say that Terra's new super-soldier... Candycane did they call him? is certainly an interesting fighter... certainly an individual I would not mind... having analyzed for improvements on our own projects.. but that's an endeavor that will likely never see fruition. Rest assured the Divine Will attacked your trireme because they felt I was in immediate danger, such is the power of the Divine Will and it's members, and such is their hatred for your world and it's people." The Shadow explained.

The Divine Shadow leaned forward. "If I was injured or killed in that Trireme's bombardment of the area, rest assured there would be no Armistice because there would be no Terra. My Guards were doing their job, your Marines died justifying a war crime- Firing on a foreign diplomat unprovoked." He said, leaning back. "I don't care how many marines died, be grateful the casualties were that, five Marines. And hopefully your men will use caution when firing upon it's own city." He said, leaning back some more, and grabbing another bite to eat.

"Do you know how many Aschen marines died trying to protect Terrans and Aschen alike from those Golems? Do you know how many CPF Officers died so that Terrans could live? Final casualty toll was at eight."

The Divine Shadow looked up, to Austin and Nagala. "You two make such a cute couple." He commented, causing the Admiral's face to go blood red. "Had my predecessor learned that you bred with a heretic, you would have been hung by your entrails and your corpse paraded through the city."

He slowly rose, and gathered the food before him onto his plate.

"But I am not my predecessor, so what you choose to do on your.. personal time.. Admiral Nagala... is none of my concern." He said, looking out the window. "I created the Divine will in response to an attempt on my life.. an attempt that took place on a diplomatic visit to Aschen personnel on Terra.. I created the Divine Will to ensure that I would continue to live on." He said, turning to Austin.

"I created the Divine Will because I want to feel safe when I come to Terra to check on your world's reconstruction, as for our own rebuilding efforts, they proceed quite smoothly with the employment of external contractors."

The Divine Shadow rose to his feet and faced the sprawling city before him. "Quite... Oh, and Admiral Nagala... following the ceremony, you will return with Mr. Marshall to Terra, and I expect you to never set foot in the Empire again, lest you pay a price in blood." He said, clasping his hands behind his back.

"If you desire a Terran over the duties as an Admiral in my Empire, than you shall suffer the consequences, Take the time between now and the award ceremony to pack whatever belongings you choose to take with you, but never again will you regard yourself an Aschen, or an Officer in this Empire."

The Divine Shadow spoke up. "I did not stutter, nor did I hesitate." He said, subtly gesturing to Kianna.

The Divine Shadow hardly flinched, even with the sound of disruptor fire, he slowly moved to turn, laughing a slow laugh. "Discipline her for her insolence! But do not kill her!" He then turned to Austin.

"See what you have done to this poor soul? Your actions have cost her, her livelihood."

The Divine Shadow simply stood there and watched the spectacle unfold.

"Break her." He ordered simply. Austin would witness the unbridled cruelty of the Divine Shadow not against a Terran, but against his own people, an Aschen Admiral, for the first time Austin would witness someone of Nagala's stature powerless.

The Divine Shadow said nothing as he turned to face away from them. "Such is the price you pay for defiling your body with the seed of a Terran." He said flatly.

The Divine Shadow stood there and watched the spectacle unfold, his hands folded up within his robe. "Goood.... gooooood..." He said under his breath, watching the blazing exchange.

The Divine Shadow slowly approached Austin, staring at him from behind his hood. "We mustn't kill him before the grand parade, the People wouldn't like that. But certainly, crazed Terran agent makes an attempt on my life would do well in the Media, especially in a place like this... certainly would offer me the justification to..." He then held his hand out, using his abilities to envelope an unseen force around Austin and pull him towards the Shadow.

"Bring upon swift retribution to your world." The Unseen force then attempted to wrench the knives from Austin's grasp, and the Shadow clenched his hand into a fist, hoping to use his abilities to force a kneel out of Austin.

"You interfere in the proper dispensation of justice, fitting for a hound begging for scraps at the Emperor's table." He then flicked his wrist, and aimed to send Austin tumbling back.

"Challenge my black hand again at your own peril."

The Divine Shadow watched Austin closely. "I never said that you would meet your end, I can choose to keep you alive through this whole ordeal. Your attacks against us only strengthen our position politically that the Terrans are little more than savages and cannot be trusted." He said, stepping forward and watching as the Bodyguard acted.

"Save your strength, hound, because I don't think your charge will be in any position to care for herself." He then flicked his wrist, and there was a sickening crack from Nagala's side of the room.

She cried and howled in pain as her ankles disfigured, like they had been hit with a hammer.

"If she dies, it will be on you."

The Divine Shadow slowly approached, flicking his wrist once more, another sickening snap of bones echoing in the room, followed by another pained howl, Nagala held her limp arm and curled up into a small ball, sobbing in pain as the Shadow approached. "Arrest you? Hardly, I have no intention of doing so." He said, continuing his approach towards the man. "I am simply putting you in your place for disrespecting me and attacking my servant." He said, slowly approaching and closing the distance.

"You must learn that your actions have consequences. So from now on, when you offend me, I will not harm you, but rather..." He then turned to Nagala. "I will harm her."

The Divine Shadow grinned from under his hood. "You will stop offending me, now that this matter is over with." He said, looking to the crippled woman. "You will be burdened with caring for her, as punishment for your insolence. You will take her with you to Terra, and you will care for her. If you can demonstrate your care for that which was once your enemy, she will be allowed to return home, and your world will have proven itself a world that is not filled with mongrels." The Divine Shadow said, a lesson in his task.

"When your world has cared for her, perhaps then, we can be on equal footing. If she dies, your world will never again have this chance." The Shadow explained, gesturing to the door.

"I believe the Ceremony is about to start." He then turned to Kianna, nodding and gesturing for her to accompany him.

The Ceremony had just begun, with the Imperial Military lined up in lock step in the courtyard of Caprica City's government plaza, a large courtyard centered at the doorsteps of the Parliament building, the Quorum, and the towering Imperial Palace.

Aschen banners from across the Empire fluttered in the wind as people gathered to watch the proceedings. Crowds filled the streets, which had been closed for the ceremony. News crews watched with cameras pointed to the large stage where the Shadow sat, Chairman McGregor, or as Austin would know as Count Iblis was also present and accounted for, along with Admiral Inviere, and the entire Aschen admiralty save for Nagala.

A loudspeaker began to blare, echoing through the buildings. "In respect of the Sovereignty of every member state, we ask that you all rise for the playing of the Caprican National Anthem, Followed by the proclamation of the United Aschen Empire!"

After a few moments, the Caprican Anthem began to play. Then after the Anthem, there was silence, as a man with a booming voice called out on the microphone.

"Only a thin Ion barrier separates us from the Chaos of the Dark Zone, the Dark zone is not separate, like two different planets, the Dark Zone coexists in the same space as our Empire, in the same place, at the same time... The Dark Zone has no rules, no sense, no order... We Worship his Shadow, Long may He Reign, and Protect us from the evil that lies within the Dark Zone."

The Divine Shadow sat idly as the proceedings went underway, the Admiralty of a once Democratic Confederation stood now as Imperial Officers in black uniforms, with the crest of the Empire upon peaked caps.

Silently he watched as everything was falling into place. The pleated hood covered his face as he watched Iblis, and then he watched Marshall, but otherwise remained silent.

The Divine Shadow looked up to Darian, and then back to Kianna, and then back up to Darian a moment, his hand gestured ever so subtly at Kianna, then to Darian. Kianna would know that hand gesture all too well. The Shadow, or rather, the Man behind the shadow was making his move.
